Dessi Tadka - Indian Street Food in München

Very good food and nice service. We were also asked how spicy we wanted it. German spicy was pretty spicy, but if you want it right you can also get Indian spicy if you wish. The three of us paid a total of just under 80 euros with three main courses, two starters and eight drinks, not including a tip. The food portions were large. So very fair prices. Gladly again!

The food we ordered for our event was an absolute hit! The Vada-pav was fresh and bursting with authentic flavors, reminding us of street food at its finest. The Biryani, both veg and chicken, was perfectly spiced and aromatic, leaving everyone impressed. Serving 50 people is no small feat, but the food was hot, delicious, and consistently praised by all the attendees. It added a delightful touch to our event and kept the energy high throughout the evening. Highly recommended for any gathering!

One of the best Kolhapuri Chicken Thali i have eaten in Munich! The best part is that the flavours are mild but still dominant and not very spicy! I am sure that this wont be the last thali i would be eating here!

We visited this restaurant yesterday (specially this branch). We ordered dosa, kids noodles and kadhai paneer. We heard the chef/cook screaming and saying to other staff that it will take time as tava is not hot (this was 20mins after order was placed). He looked angry and frustrated. Then after a while the kids noodles came, luckily before the kid tried the noodles we thought to taste it. The noodles were stale and smelled bad. They took it away. Dosa was ok. Then came the main course kadhai paneer and it was nothing less than MTR/haldiram ready to eat packets and wasn't fresh as well. Never again!

As I was eating vegetarian today, we enjoyed a wonderful selection: papdi chaat, gobi manchurian, mango lassi, lychee sharbat, and butter naan with palak paneer. Chef Soni’s expertise shines through in every dish, with flavors that felt genuinely Indian and just right for my taste. What made the experience even better was the warm, friendly staff. They suggested some great dishes, making sure we had the best options to try. Special thanks to Shivani ji, Khan, and Mohammad for their exceptional hospitality – they really made us feel at home. Shivani ji, in particular, ensured we had a great time, and I’m confident the service will be just as wonderful every time. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. My only small regret was missing out on the rasmalai, which we were excited to try. Otherwise, I’d give Desi Tadka a solid 4.8 out of 5. It’s a must-visit spot in Munich for anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine!

"Delicious and authentic” Was craving something like this for long and here I know where I am weekending after trying this place. I tried Chicken Kolhapuri Thali, and it was absolutely fantastic! The chicken was perfectly cooked and packed with bold, spicy flavors that true Kolhapuri cuisine is known for. The thali had a great variety, with soft rotis, fragrant rice, and a refreshing solkadhi that balanced the heat beautifully. Every element complemented the main dish, making it a well-rounded and satisfying meal. #update- this restaurant was supposed to refund today. On calling they said you wrote a review about the incident so we can’t refund. Disgusting and unprofessional behaviour from the restaurant staff. Basically they denied our own money. And they are behaving like they were about to do a favour by refunding our money. And they got offended because of our honest review, so they denied the refund. Most pathetic behaviour we came across in years. ———————————————————————- We went to Desi tadka today on 1st October. We ordered chaat and mocktails also tawa mutton and rotis. We got full after eating chaat so asked the restaurant to pack the tawa mutton and rotis. After coming home we found dal tadka instead of mutton. And we made payment for mutton. On calling the restaurant all they managed to say it was a mistake and it happens sometimes. On forcing them for a solution. They said when we will go next time they will compensate with tawa mutton. We repeatedly told them it’s not possible for us to visit their Bodensee Straße outlet as it is far away from our home and went there for a work. Which is 1.5 hours. We ate earlier in other outlets of desi tadka and recommended it to a lot of our friends as it was good. After today’s incident and the way they shrugged it off by just saying sorry and mistakes happen. We are disappointed of their service and hospitality. We recommend people to get take away on their risk. As they can send anything irresponsibly . They didn’t even bother to refund the difference amount of dal tadka and tawa mutton.

Was pleasantly surprised to find such authentic Indian food in Germany. The taste of the chats was superb and we enjoyed the personal attention of the owner who was extremely courteous and helpful. Do come down and help yourself to the excellent food

I tried many Indian restaurants in Munich. But now I guess I found restaurant which serve every Indian dish with same authenticity. Recently, I had Chicken Kolhapuri Thali, after that I had Thali 3 times after every weekend. Sol kadhi, Pandhara Rassa and chicken sukha from Thali were top of the game. I highly recommend this place for authentic Indian dishes.

Always worth a visit. The food is not just the standard that you get in any Indian place and is really very tasty. A particular highlight in addition to the very good service: a regular guest even ran out a round of drinks for us. Super friendly guests too.

I went just for the Kolhapuri Thali (which is current attraction of the hotel) and the HYPE IS REAL! Original taste. Everything was just perfect🤤 I would recommend every Kolhapuri Thali Lover to visit the restaurant atleast once. Rest, the staff was very friendly and service is also very good. Ambience is also very calming!

I recently ordered Misal Pav from Dessi Tadka for my house party, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious and authentic, capturing the true flavors of Maharashtrian cuisine. The Misal Pav had the perfect balance of spice and flavor, making it a hit among my guests. (And they serve authentic Paav) The service was also excellent—my order was handled smoothly, and everything was delivered on time, fresh, and piping hot. This restaurant has beaten the previous worst Indian food I had in my life. Living in Munich in 2024 my expectations have gotten higher with many good places to eat, it's not like how it was 6 years ago when I felt paying for Indian food here was just waste of money. I don't know how this place have a 4.8 rating. I have started to question the validity of reviews on Google now as that only thing that made me come here. Vada pav here is vada burger and that vada is just boiled potato which lacks any flavor. Paneer maskawala is just ketchup mixed with onion. Dal is so undercooked that you break your teeths. Chicken biryani here is sabzi mixed with rice. Tandori chicken had a chicken which might have polio because I have never seen such small piece of chicken or all grocery store serve somehow has super sized chickens. Having meal here I feel like I should start to be a food blogger because I don't know how you can serve this food and get 4.8 rating on Google. I will be adding reviews to some other Indian places in Munich where you should spend your money. So, just check my profile because I just want to give anyone reading this an better alternative.

Very beautiful restaurant, with great location and delicious food. We arrived by bike, so I can't say if there is a garage. We took advantage of the "street food" and everything was perfect. The attendant was very friendly and helped us with our choices. We will definitely be back to eat other dishes!

We love Indian cuisine and have finally tried this restaurant around the corner from us. The food was really delicious and the portions were absolutely sufficient. There are also a few other dishes here that you wouldn't necessarily find on the menu. The price is certainly at the upper limit, so not for regular visits! The staff was nice and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.

I come here regularly, both for takeaway and for staying in. I generally love Indian food, and this is one of the most authentic indian places I have found so far. The service is very friednly, and food is great.

Positive: Food was good when we visited as a family. Service was good but the sitting is a bit combusted. Negative: We were invited to a birthday party at this restaurant. The service was really slow, we were offered water after 3-4 times of asking. For serving food they didn't have enough plates as they had overbooked. After repeated request for drinks order they served the drinks after 2 hours of guest arriving, For individual dinner yes, for events or parties, a definite No.

Worst service and worst food ever. Name is not justifying its worth. They totally ignore the dessi people. The people taking order doesn’t know if there is not available in kitchen and takes the order and when customer ask why item didn’t come then they inform it is not available. Never had such worst experience in india. Restaurant. Do not recommend it to anyone specifically to Indian customers.
