For me the best Indian restaurant in Munich. The ambiance is great and the staff is warm, welcoming, quick and very polite. But the star of the show is the food. A great selection of masterfully executed Indian dishes. You won't be disappointing.

Royal India, (an Indian restaurant in Munich, Germany). We visited this place in May/2025. The atmosphere here was most welcoming and each dish was attractively presented at the table. The smell of each dish was pleasant and the taste simply delicious. I also admired the friendliness of the staff. They were polite and respectful to the customers. Over all I would definitely say ‘the food was delectable & yummy’…..Thank you Ranjana for the “gulab jamun” at the end of our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant in Munich, If you are in this city, as a tourist, visitor, or a resident & wanna try OR simply like Indian cuisine, you gotta visit ROYAL INDIA. Excellent and authentic "Indian" (India is famously vast, and there's no such thing as "the" Indian food) food combined with excellent service. All this at a good price-performance ratio. Highly recommended.

We had palak paneer twice. I found it a bit too salty, but my companion found it very tasty. The garlic naan was very good. And the value for money was good, too. The service was very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, our tablecloth was a bit dirty, and the windowsill at my table was dusty; that just shouldn't happen.

We were on holiday in Munich and decided we wanted to eat Indian, searched for Indian restaurants and Royal India was one of the first ones to come up. It was really delicious, good service and nice staff. We started with some Naan bread and papadums and Samoas, and ordered chicken and lamb respectively. It was so delicious and tender that it can only be recommended. This is truly an experience 😊😊

Let's get to the worst part: The delivery service was a disaster – we had to wait 1 hour 40 minutes (!!!) for our food. We called twice and were only told (or lied to!), "The driver is on the way." We were 10 minutes away from the restaurant, mind you. When no one arrived after 30 minutes, we contacted the restaurant again, clearly not amused. The short answer was, "The driver is stuck but will be right there." Then they hung up. After exactly 1:40 hours, we received our food and, after the long wait and a hefty price tag of €70 for three dishes and bread, we had high expectations – which were not met when we tasted it. This restaurant is not worth recommending, neither the food nor the takeaway. The bad review is now online because, despite two phone calls, there was no apology whatsoever.

We ordered online based on the good reviews but were massively disappointed. The food was okay overall but overpriced. Paying over €70 for three naan breads and three bowls of various masalas is pretty outrageous, especially when the portions aren't that big. Taste is subjective, but what prompted me to write reviews is simply the unpunctuality, unfriendliness, and the over 2-hour wait for our food. We were repeatedly put off on the phone, with the message "the driver was already on the way" and similar messages. We were less than 10 minutes away from the restaurant. If you don't want to deliver, just say so but don't offer to serve and then make people wait.

We ordered for pickup. Unfortunately, the order was incomplete, and my emails only offered to replace the missing item with a voucher. No one responded to my request to refund the money via PayPal. Unfortunately, no one responded to my multiple email inquiries. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Best indian food in Munich! The flavours, the service and the vibe, everything is perfect and is a perfect example of how an authentic Indian Restaurant should be. 10/10. Highly recommended.

Classic Indian food. Those who are looking for classic Indian cuisine without the sophistication - this is the place. All the dishes were delicious, you just have to pay attention to the level of spiciness of the dishes you order. The spiciness here is authentic and it is a step above what we know in Western or Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant is classically furnished in Indian style and simply. The place is clean, the service is very good. Highly recommended for lovers of Indian cuisine, the price is reasonable and not expensive.

I've tried around 20 Indian restaurants in Munich and Royal India is right at the top. Especially Fish Tikka and Birjani absolutely first class. The prices are completely reasonable. Service very professional.

Divine and tasty food. We had butter chicken and vegetable kofta curry. Generous portions and overall value for money! We were well looked after by Sahil and Rocky. Definitely worth a visit.

5 stars – A culinary highlight in the middle of Munich! I was completely amazed by Royal India! As soon as you enter you feel like you are on a little trip to India - stylish furnishings, pleasant atmosphere and incredibly friendly service.(Abhi) The food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish was lovingly prepared, perfectly seasoned and authentic in taste. The butter chicken and fresh naan were particularly to die for. The vegetarian dishes also impress with their depth and variety. It's not just cooking here - culture is lived here. For me the best Indian restaurant in all of Munich. I'll definitely be back! I love it here! I recommend this restaurant

Literally the best Indian food we have had in Germany. They have excellent value lunch menu on weekdays. We had chicken kabab and lamb curry from their lunch menu, wirh lassi to drink, and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The food tastes amazing, is super authentic and the place has a very nice vibe with quite friendly staff. An absolute must try place.

Rocky and the whole team is amazing! Beautiful restaurant and nice seating. Delicious tandoori chicken and rogan josh. The chai is served nice and warms you up completely. You have to stop here for some authentic and delicious Indian food.

Update: Still by far the best Indian restaurant in the city. The quality of the dishes is always top, service is friendly and quick. Personally, the tables are a little too narrow for me (privacy and all) and if more than 2 people order tandoori in the restaurant, the clothes smell even the next day - but we prefer to order home anyway 😊👍🏻 Original from 2 years ago: Best Indian restaurant in this city! The best Indian food I’ve ever had. Tasty. Great quality. Friendly service.

We ordered. Maybe I'm spoiled by GB. But that was the worst Indian of my not short life. Punjabi Samosa dry, Chana-chat Samosa (Hot) were an indefinable mush (stew) Shahi Baingan slightly spicy, overcooked, unseasoned and cold. Never fresh vegetables. Bhindi Masala slightly spicy didn't taste like anything, was lukewarm with 3 small pieces of cheese and something gooey. Raita was actually just yogurt with homeopathic cucumber content. Butter Naan was actually good.

The food was super tasty, fresh and high quality. The service was excellent and above all very personable. We'll be back

It was the most flavorful butter chicken curry I've ever had. The servers are very friendly and the restaurant atmosphere is clean and classy. Above all, it was not noisy inside, so it was comfortable to talk and eat.

I was more than thrilled with my visit to this Indian restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the food was simply amazing - authentic, fresh and full of flavor. I would particularly like to highlight Abhi who provided exceptional service. Abhi was friendly, attentive and made sure we didn't lack for anything. His recommendations were excellent and you could tell he really cared about the guests' well-being. He made our visit an unforgettable experience! If you love Indian food, you should definitely visit this restaurant. It definitely wasn't my last visit!

When describing this place, I don't know where to start. The food, the staff, the decorations, it was all magnificent. No wonder 1,4 billion people live in a country with a kitchen as rich as the Indian one. But to maintain its authenticity, that is perhaps the most astonishing aspect of the uniqueness of Royal India. What Bollywood does with films, this restaurant does with food. There is no need to travel to India any longer, just travel to Munich and experience the Indian kitchen like never before.

Was travelling through Europe for holiday and craved for Indian food and stopped by here. Absolutely loved the food and service.. Will recommend.

Indians discriminating Indians. I saw this first time here in Germany that we as India get discriminated treatment as compared to Germans. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Food and service are amazing! This is my 2nd time here. On my first trip, I mentioned that it could have been spicier, and they remembered me and made it very spicy this time... Indian very, very spicy and it did not disappoint! I loved every bite!! Definitely recommend eating here.

When you hear about a restaurant in London on Netflix, you expect something special. ("Darjeeling Express" - Unfortunately it wasn't.) However, if you then go to Royal India, then what there is in Royal India is impressive! The finest cuisine & perfectly coordinated. Of course, as always with Indians, the portions are rather generous, but that doesn't detract from the experience. Here's to another... 15 - 20 years? 🙏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The food here was truly exceptional. We ordered Samosa Chana Chaat, Paneer Jalfrezi (served with rice), Parantha and Garlic Naan. Would highly recommend Paneer Jalfrezi and Parantha. However, the unexpected charge for water left a sour note. It's a small detail, but one that detracted from the overall experience. Would recommend getting your own hydration or confirming first.
