The spices used in this restaurant are absolutely impeccable, which is why Indian food tastes so good – spices are simply crucial. If you're in Munich and want to try Indian cuisine, you absolutely must visit this restaurant.

Staying in Munich for a few days on holiday with two teens (17&16) and we stopped here for dinner. We came on a Wednesday night at 7pm, got a table right away, fast friendly service and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! We started we complimentary papad and 3 types of chutneys, then the tandoori grill, mango laasi, garlic naan, chicken Tikka masala, chicken saag (off menu) and complimentary jeera rice. Everything was fantastic, very flavorful, naan cooked in a traditional tandoor, mango laasi was on point and a big hit w the kids. We opted for the chicken tikka masala which was more savory as the waiter said the butter chicken is more on the sweet side. If in Munich, I highly recommend coming here!!

Excellent food, comfy restaurant, excellent service

Absolutely delicious Indian food. Not too sweet, not too salty, not too spicy. Simply perfect. The bread is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and I especially recommend the butter chicken. I'll definitely be back!

You won’t find many Indian restaurants in Munich - this one is well worth a visit though. Great food and atmosphere.

I recently visited Royal India, and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, the ambiance was warm, and everything was well-prepared. The staff were especially impressive—friendly, attentive, and very welcoming. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Royal India to anyone looking for good food and great service.

Amazing food and warmest hospitality in Munich...a must try place for North Indians for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. Special highlights..Baingan bartha and Kadhai chicken with sizzling tandoori chicken. Not to forget, German beers to compliment all the above.

Been here twice for dinner. Food is very tasty. Chole was very good. Naan was fluffy and very well done. Salt lassi is also super yummy. Staff are also very friendly. They can make it Indian spicy if you ask.

Really nice and authentic place. I ordered the chicken korma and it was delicious, super flavorful, creamy, and well-balanced. The service was great too; Sahel was my waiter and he was very kind and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a solid experience. I’d happily come back.

We came here spontaneously and they even cleared a table for us, as it was already full on Friday evening. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent.

😍 Ordered butter chicken and butter naan for home delivery and they were good. The butter chicken was not sweet and it was flavourful. The rice had cloves which was a nice touch. I visited the restaurant in person and also tried the chicken kohlapuri, which had a great flavour and was deliciously spicy. The garlic naan was served warm and the lychee lassi complemented the food well.

A highly recommended restaurant, perfectly priced, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The food arrives quickly and has never disappointed me in terms of taste. I love eating Indian food, but I'm rarely so satisfied that I keep coming back, like here. My impression is that the art of gastronomy is truly alive and well here.

We visited Munich for six days and tried all sorts of cuisine, museums, tours and experiences. I found the Royal India before we travelled to the city and was very keen to try it, having found several highly rated restaurants in advance. We had fantastic Vietnamese, German and Italian food during our stay in lovely restaurants with friendly hospitality. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with The Royal India - the evening began with a very bad first impression, it wasn't very welcoming and the waiter who came over to our table refused repeatedly to give us tap water for the table and insisted several times that we could only buy bottled water, even though 'tafelwasser' was very clearly available on the menu. I asked in English and German and there was no misunderstanding. Another waiter took over and was much more helpful and pleasant. He said tap water was fine and brought it with our other drinks. We placed our order and asked for mild dishes due to my sister's dietary requirements, the food was very tasty but certainly not what I would describe as mild. (I spent two months travelling around India so I certainly don't have an overly sensitive palate to spice). We did not grumble about the food because by that point we just wanted to leave. The experience was unpleasant from the beginning because of the very poor attitude of the first waiter, and it was not a nice atmosphere. Sadly the only negative experience of our otherwise wonderful visit to Munich and Bavaria.

I visited this Indian restaurant with my girlfriend, and we had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and perfectly cooked. The service was just as impressive. I especially want to mention Sahil and Rocky — they treated us both with great warmth and professionalism, making us feel truly welcome. We’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended

Hi everyone, we were here at the Royal Restaurant for the second time. If we were to eat at an Indian restaurant, we would only come here. The food is amazing, the staff is fantastic, and the atmosphere is great music 💃. So, off to the Royal Indian Restaurant. Sahel was our best server 👍

Ordered - arrived within 50 minutes, 1 hour was expected, friendly delivery driver. Large portions for the main courses, very tasty. The mango chicken was surprisingly good, very tender meat, sauce not too sweet, the kids loved it. The highlight was the chana chaat samosa, which was different from what I expected (I'd never had this dish before), a samosa in a sauce with chickpeas and pomegranate, among other ingredients, with a great aroma and everyone loved it. It was also beautifully presented (in the cardboard box). Spicier than I expected (hot/hot and hot/spicy 😉). I normally eat very mild food, but this was so delicately seasoned, really great. Overall, the food was "fine" in terms of flavors, one of the best "Indian" dishes we had in Munich.

Divine food, outstanding staff, go there

We were looking for a new Indian restaurant. The reservation worked, and a table for three was fine. The food was very good, the vegetarian dishes excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant, except for the increasingly loud music. Service was friendly and distant. Recommended, but unfortunately, not for us anymore, because dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant, and we like to bring our little one with us.

Service was pretty mid tbh. 7 bucks for a bottle of water is wild but hey maybe that's just me 🤷‍♂️ Food was good though.

We decided before arriving at the Marriott west to jump off the #18 tram from the HBF and try this restaurant as it was just a block off the tram stop and close to the hotel. We were not disappointed for the last minute decision. The restaurant was laid out in a very smart way without all the typical tacky Indian stuff sprinkled everywhere. It was very tasteful and the seating was set up so you could have four cost corners to sit and enjoy the food and people around you. Clearly this was a neighborhood restaurant and very popular even on a Tuesday night, always a good sign. We shared the paneer dish and a chicken Tika Masala which I really liked as it was more like a true Indian gravy and not a sauce. Both dishes were great as was the large slices of Naan bread. I was saved from yet another bad overpriced meal at the Marriott. Munich has many good ethic restaurants and this is one.

Good food! Highly recommend Mango Lasse, Kohlapuri with Chicken or Paneer - but beware it’s spicy, and the butter chicken. For me the Jalfrezi was mediocre but others have recommended it.

Best Indian food I've ever had, very reasonable price. My waiter Sahil was extremely nice and friendly. I will for sure come back despite the 1.5 hour long journey to get there from where I live.

The waiters here were quite attentive and immediately came to collect orders, serve food and drinks, which is quite appreciated. We found the kebabs quite excellent, and presented quite well. Unlike quite a few Indian restaurants, the food was well spiced and not bland. They had confirmed with us if we would prefer a spicier version and we requested the same. The naans were also quite well prepared, decently sized. The main course meals we had including Dal Makhni, which is missing in the menu of quite a few Indian restaurants, and Chicken kadahi were well prepared with a good portion size. As there was some ongoing repairs inside, we had to sit outside, but enjoyed the sitting area. Thanks to the team for being attentive to our needs!

This place was pretty good. I was doing my laundry at the coin laundromat when someone said, "We've had too much German food, let's have Indian food." We waited in line and had dinner right outside. Surprisingly, the food was really good, so I highly recommend it. If you're getting tired of German schnitzel, this is a good option. They have tandoori chicken and butter naan, the spiciest curry (vindaloo?), but it wasn't too spicy for our Korean palates. It was nice to have rice after a long time...

The restaurant is halal and has a halal certificate at the door. The food is very delicious and the service is very excellent.

We had a wonderful time at the royal India restaurant in Munich! What's a Grace meal, a flavor and perfectly adjusted to our liking in terms of spiciness. The nuns where some of the best we have ever had and the mango lassi was splendid. Thank you so much to our waiter Sahil and for the possibility of giving us a taste of your Litchee Vodka! We recommend 100%

Food here was excellent in very nice surroundings with a nice atmosphere, we often eat Indian food and this restaurant was second to none, we were served by Sahil and Rocky they were both very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in this restaurant because of alcohol drinks was served there. We just have a quick look to have uncomfortable feelings that they don't served halal food.

The food is more than wonderful, and our server (Sahil) provided excellent service and met all our complex requests. 😅❤️ Their only flaw is the delay in receiving orders.

Very clean and delicious restaurant, I recommend it to Arabs. The samosa is the best dish, especially with the yogurt and mint sauce. Delicious Food & Warm Hospitality at Royal India Munich: I recently dined at Royal India in Munich and had a fantastic experience. The food was freshly made and full of authentic flavors. The food was below average, everything a bit vague and boring. Service was average. The music from the ceiling speakers was too loud, constantly blasting. The restrooms weren't particularly modern, but at least they were reasonably clean, but as in almost all restaurants: overflowing wastepaper baskets. Overall, it was okay at best. A shame; I expected more.

I've never eaten anything there that didn't taste good. 😍 The drivers are always super friendly, apologizing for the 7 minutes (perfect time considering there's construction all around us). If you’re vegetarian or vegan, this place is a must-visit. The variety of veggie curries and lentil dishes is amazing. I loved the baigan ka bharta, Everything tasted fresh, and the spices were just right—warm but not overpowering. And staff was very friendly specially the boy Rockey😉.
