Tannenhütte in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The Tannenhütte is within easy walking distance of Partenkirchen and offers a fantastic view of the town. The style is modern and rustic. It's self-service. Our group drank beer and Schore (a kind of cider). I had a "Brotzeit" (a traditional German snack). Both were delicious, so we enjoyed the sun at the hut a little longer. A definite recommendation.

We got married at the Tannenhütte – an unforgettable experience! A dream location with a view of the Zugspitze, great food, and a warm, professional team. Our wedding was exactly as we imagined – even better. Highly recommended!

Great views of Garmisch. The Tannenhütte can be reached via a short hike via various routes. The route is very manageable, even for less experienced hikers, but there is a bit of elevation gain. You have to pick up the food yourself, so the service is a bit disappointing. But that's not a big deal; it was delicious!

A very nice cabin, a great place to stop for a bite to eat. We were there as a stag or hen party and had a great time. The view is fantastic. The food is very good. The staff is quick and friendly :)

Great food, a wonderful, clean restaurant, and excellent value for money. Unfortunately, the man at the bar was very unfriendly and loudly ridiculed or complained about the guests. The rest of the staff was extremely hospitable.

In one word... GREAT! The food is amazing, the service is fantastic, and the hut is lovingly decorated. You enjoy a fantastic view, and you'll almost never want to walk back down. A definite recommendation 💯

Chill, sit, drink, eat, everything in one place. On Wednesdays, there will be a DJ playing music. This place is not suitable for those who do not like to walk, but believe me, it is definitely worth the effort (20-45 minutes).

The view was the only nice thing... Not a typical alpine hut. No service, everything self-service, and the food is just not worth the price. French fries cost almost €7 and were way too salty to make you thirsty. So, this place in the Bavarian mountains is just not worth it...

Anyone looking for a rustic alpine hut is unfortunately in the wrong place. The view is very beautiful. This hut isn't for us. We like rustic huts with charm and a hearty bacon or cheese board. The Tannenhütte, while very well-maintained and made of wood, is very modern and self-service. I find the €20 snack board or a €6.90 portion of fries a bit overpriced. But apparently, the hut is well-received by others. It's just a matter of taste...

Located on the hiking trail to the valley station and close to the Wankbahn mid-station. The view is breathtaking, the staff extremely friendly, and the delicious, freshly prepared food is great value for money. Tip: Take a quick detour to the nearby Hacker-Pschorr Bridge.

I was asked to update my review because the Kaiserschmarrn doesn't cost €18. Sorry, you're right, it seems to be €16.60 plus self-service. Doesn't change the fact that I find this price completely excessive. But everyone can judge that for themselves. I still maintain that I can't recommend a visit here based on the prices. By the way, it's a shame that people respond so aggressively to negative reviews and automatically assume that if the prices are too high for you, you just don't want to spend it. Truly arrogant. You could explain your pricing nicely, that might be more appealing. This just makes the whole place even more unpleasant. Original review: "It looks nice, but after looking at the menu where the Kaiserschmarrn costs €18, we left. Simply disproportionate. We didn't even pay at the ski hut. What a shame."

A beautiful, very easy hike to the hut is possible with children. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the prices are anything but fair or justifiable. The Kaiserschmarrn costs over €17!

Beautiful, modern hut with delicious food and a great view of the Zugspitze and Alpspitze mountains. On nice days, it's quite busy here. If you're looking for a quiet hut, you'd better look elsewhere.

For me, the Tannenhütte is a little paradise. From our front door, we're there in a brisk 36-40 minutes. Enjoy the view, the Kaiserschmarren (a fantastic pancake), the super-delicious chili sin carne, the sour shandy, the view—pure summit—and the incredibly friendly staff. A gem… a feel-good place, and hard to top. The only downside—the calories we lost on the hike up are back on our hips after our stay here. Simply toooo good…😉🤣😘

Self-service, we were there on Ascension Day. It was moderately busy, with a bit of a wait, but everything was reasonable. For two drinks (a large Ski Water, a Spezi), a salad with cheese dumplings (one piece) and cheese spaetzle, two espressos, and a piece of cake, we paid just under €53. That's a pretty penny, in my opinion. The view is fantastic.

Prices are higher than in other alpine huts, but the quality is decent. If something's not right with the food, just let us know and we'll help you ;) The view of the Wetterstein Mountains is, of course, stunning. The access is also relatively short from Garmisch or from the "Schöne Aussicht" parking lot.

Super nice hut with a great view. Unfortunately I can't rate the food because we were there very early. The coffee was delicious. Nice staff and clean sanitary facilities.

Best Kaiserschmarrn ever, friendly staff, amazing view

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The hut is recommended, among other things, as a family excursion destination. The pork schnitzel costs 18.90 euros. I asked for a children's schnitzel because my son would have loved one. “You can make a Kinderschnitzel,” was the statement. What I forgot to do was ask how much the children's schnitzel costs. A whole 2 euros less than the normal schnitzel, i.e. 16.90 euros. The schnitzel (I remember made from pork) was just 14 x 6 cm in size. There was a huge mountain of fries, but fries don't cost anything in comparison. I'm happy to pay a little more for huts, but that's really a shame, as we say here in Bavaria. A piece of apple pie for 4.90 euros isn't exactly a bargain, but it's still somewhat acceptable. But the thing with the schnitzel is really an absolute disgrace. It's a shame because the hut is really nice and also the playground and the location and the view. Next time we will bring our own snack, coffee and cake. Really a shame.

Super nice place to stay and enjoy. There is a playground for children and when the Alm is closed there are vending machines for drinks and snacks. But it doesn't go well at all when the staff discusses reservations etc. in front of the guests. We can't judge the food - but it looked very good.

Waiter “Franz” should get a pay increase. Very attentive and accommodating. Unfortunately, things like this are becoming more and more rare

We have been to the Tannenhütte regularly every year and have been very satisfied so far. Great ambience, nice service and delicious food. On Easter Sunday, however, the food was subpar. Salad with cheese dumplings tasted like yesterday, schnitzel with fries (fries okay, but the schnitzel was in the pan for far too short a time), Kasspatzen were apparently prepared in the morning and then warmed up in the microwave.

Nice hut. Very crowded on weekends. Correspondingly stressful atmosphere!

I can highly recommend the hike there is great but feel free to take hiking sticks with you. The view on the paths is breathtakingly beautiful. The ice cream tastes very good and the homemade cake is also great. If you want to switch off from everyday life, go these ways, there are different ones.

The location and the view is great. But the food average, for an increased price with self-service. My question about the way from the hut to another hut was answered snooty and cheeky, we should just walk, he doesn't know where to go because he's driving up there in the car 🥴. Sorry, but that's just not a service.

Amazing views after a short hike

When we come to Garmisch, the Tannenhütte is always our first stop. Great hut, beautiful views and delicious food. The service was very nice and friendly. The Kaiserschmarrn was super tasty like the rest. The hut can be easily reached in just under an hour. Unfortunately, blueberry Kaiserschmarrn is no longer available.

Beautiful new cabin, in a beautiful location, the view is to die for. The fir hut is modern and contemporary, the entire window front reflecting the panorama of the mountains fits well. Children can let off steam a little away from the hut in the landscaped playground...the terrace is equipped with beautiful, heavy wooden furniture. I ate a Kaspressknödl soup, which tasted delicious, with a cold beer and this view, it couldn't be better... the restaurant is a self-service restaurant... with very nice staff

Great place to stop for a break, super delicious food

I'm actually a fan of the Tannenhütte, but if you don't like people you should stay at home and you've got the wrong job. And no, I'm not a tourist!! The stars are only for the location and the good coffee. The service is simply outrageous and a tone that doesn't work at all. And then a 10 euro deposit for a dog drinking bowl with the direct assumption that the thing would be stolen. So thank you, at least we won't be coming back.

One star for the incredibly beautiful view, one star for the beautiful hut and the fact that there are vegan options. Zero stars for service. Unfortunately we didn't feel welcome at all. The food and drinks have to be ordered in the hut, which sometimes gets chaotic when the house is full. When the sun went away and we wanted to sit inside, we were refused because the food for outside had already been taken. You shouldn't forget that we already had half of the food, there was space inside and it was just freezing cold outside. After asking again if we could please come in, the gentleman agreed. Either way, the staff came across as super irritable and overwhelmed. It's a shame because there's so much potential here. But if the service isn't right, the food and the view can be no matter how good. It's a shame, and on my birthday. P.S.: As a waiter, eating fries from the guests' plates in the kitchen is an absolute no-go 👎🏼

Food with very high taste, great and modern served, service very attentive, restaurant and terrace outside clean and tidy. Location and view fantastic.

Always nice to hike to the hut. The food is always delicious even when it's really crowded. You can sit very well inside and outside. You have a great view. There is also a lot on offer for children. It's worth walking to the hut in summer as well as in winter. Highly recommended… we always enjoy going there. From there you can easily hike up to Wank.

As always, very nice with a view of a great landscape. The hike there is great, there are different paths from Partenkirchen or from the middle station of the Wankbahn. Beer garden or sitting inside is great. After the hike you will be rewarded with delicious self-service drinks and food. Next to it is the Hacker-Pschorr suspension bridge. A nice experience.

Actually a nice hut! But on November 1st, 2024 it was complete chaos. From 2 p.m., the portions of cheese patties and fries were reduced by 1/3 while the price remained the same. (We had both portion sizes in our group) Waiting time over an hour, drinks in the self-service area 35 minutes. Prices are rather high compared to other huts in the area - unfortunately it wasn't particularly enjoyable in terms of enjoyment. I grew up in Partenkirchen and have always loved the wonderful path "to the Gamshütte - now Tannenhütte" - but I advise everyone to take their snack with them and enjoy a little walk to the Hacker-Pschorr Bridge (there are benches) with the best view. I am aware that running a hut like this is complicated and not easy, but other hut operators in the area can actually do it better.

A great modern hut, food OK and not exactly cheap, service on the terrace is virtually non-existent (which is okay), the location is sensational, the path can be done even with little fitness. We'd love to come back.

Varied hike that is particularly popular with families. Very nice view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the Ammergau Alps. It can also be very crowded on weekends when the weather is nice.

The prices were too high for self-service

Prices are now too high. In addition, mistakes now creep in because you can't cope with the many guests. Pager 10 is defective. My food was cold - no excuse or anything...

The climb to the Tannenhütte is quite easy, you could even take the gondola up from Wang and then just go down to the hut. The hut itself is located next to the Hacker-Pschorr Bridge where you have a great view. In addition to the hut catering, there are also vending machines which are accessible around the clock. We were able to enjoy a cheese dumpling soup, a Kaiserschmarrn and a snack board. Everything was very tasty and the portions would probably have been enough for 3 people. The Kaiserschmarrn was very airy, and I would particularly like to praise the greaves on the snack board. The service was good, it should be mentioned that when picking up the food you have to wait a little longer at the point of delivery. About long enough to make you wonder if the food isn't ready yet. The ambience is great, the view is fantastic. All in all, highly recommended. However, for allergy sufferers there is the restriction that there is a dog inside that belongs to the hut.

Went to the Tannenhuette today and received a very warm welcome and good hospitality. Food was very good. Great modern architecture.

Nature is perfect, but some problems such as cold approach to strangers, lack of service, and cold service of hot drinks disrupt the comfort. Still, it has great potential.

Mountain hut in a modernized design with an extensive menu and adjusted prices

Modern hut with a beautiful beer garden and a great view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There was self-service in the beer garden outside, which worked great and shortened the waiting time for a beer again ;-). Very friendly staff. Prices completely okay.

We stopped there yesterday during the hike🥾🧭; We can only recommend the Tannenhütte: great hut - lovingly furnished🫶 The food and drinks are highly recommended! The staff is very (!) friendly and extremely attentive! We were looked after very well and warmly by Lisa! We liked it so much that we came back today😅🫶 The cherry girls🍒🥾🧭

Very good food with a beautiful view. The conditions are also very fast and friendly. We really enjoyed the wheat beer there. The hut is easy to reach, it takes about 40 minutes to walk from Garmisch.

We were in the Tannenhütte today - there was a big sign on the terrace: "We're currently self-service". However, I had seen a waitress outside. We chose a table and I went to the restaurant and asked if there was self-service. This was denied with the statement: “We have just switched over. There is someone outside”. We then waited outside at the table to place our order. Nobody came and asked us what we would like to order. Other tables were served, and the waitress didn't take a look around. Someone also came by, but eye contact was not sought. Sometimes the waitress stood with her hands in her pockets and joked with other guests. Who knows what motivation the chef had in the kitchen. Unfortunately we left after 15 minutes and then ate down in Garmisch. People were friendlier there and the prices were lower there too. High prices and poor service - something isn't right.

The Tannenhütte offers an impressive view of the Zugspitze and is architecturally modern and attractive. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. Despite being directly present at the counter, we were not immediately noticed when we ordered, and when we arrived we were not greeted warmly, as is usual in other mountain huts. The drinks we ordered in the self-service area were quite expensive at 10 euros for two soft drinks. It was also irritating that a waitress repeatedly asked guests whether they had already paid, even though they already had food and drinks in front of them. The atmosphere seemed rather impersonal. It might be worth it for the beautiful view, but unfortunately we missed the hospitable warmth.

Nice hut, nice playground and good views. Prices high. €7.70 for 1 pair of Viennese with a slice of bread. Cheese dumpling soup was very salty, the dumpling was dry and burnt, no trace of cheese.

I'm in the Tannenhütte again, like I do several times a year. As always, the team is super friendly - even in hectic moments. The food tastes good. Everything perfect. Keep it up. I'm already looking forward to the next time. Thank you!

Dear Anna and the Tannenhütte team! Thank you for the great experience we had with our team at/in your hut. We had a workshop with an easy 40-minute climb to you, a fantastic backdrop and the best weather. The friendly welcome and the food, which were huge portions, made our work sweeter. And it wasn't just because of the Kaiserschmarrn. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back, privately or as a company.

I was there today, a really great hut. It's crazy what was built there. Great service and delicious food at a normal price. I'll come back in winter. One small thing: unfortunately the time on the signpost is not correct. From the parking lot of the Wankbahn up there are 3 signposts on the way up, each 1¼ hours. 🤣 But whoever is on the way to you doesn't care about the time🥳

Drinks ok. But definitely not eating anymore. The large salad is smaller than most side salads in GAP. Cheese spaetzle completely unseasoned and the scariest onions I've ever had. Prices not justified. But people don't ask how the food was when half-full plates are returned... (certainly not because of large portions. To your answer: No, this is the “big” salad that came out the same way 3 times!!! If I hadn't felt like testing again, I wouldn't have wasted my time on it. So 5 people just thought the onions were bad. But the answer in general says it all.

Went to the Tannenhütte today. The ambience was really good, but unfortunately the service was not at all. My children were already in the hut and after about 15 minutes had to go to the counter and ask whether this was a self-service hut or a service hut. We were then able to place our drink order with a rather annoyed waitress. When we arrived at the hut we were not noticed at all by the employees, no hello or hello. After waiting for about half an hour, the waitress walked past us several times, I then paid for my children's drinks directly at the counter, but I had to wait there again. All in all, nice cabin in a nice location, but the service is subpar. I hope for the owners that we are or were an isolated case. Maybe the owner can comment.
