Renaissance Riessersee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

We weren't hotel guests, we were in the restaurant for coffee. Super delicious Kaiserschmarrn and a beautiful view of Rießersee and the Wetterstein massif.

Not fine dining but very good. The trout was fantastic.

There was only one visit to a restaurant! Conclusion: Good “bourgeois cuisine” with the expected quality. Good service, unbeatable view...!

We were in the cafe right by the lake, the view is breathtaking! Only the food wasn't particularly good and at these prices. The Kässpätzle were made with mountain cheese, unfortunately we didn't taste any of it. It was far too creamy - unfortunately not recommended. We can't say anything about the other dishes, maybe they are better.

Highly recommended, I had a goulash soup. There was a decent portion and enough bread.

The location and the view are great. The staff is friendly, but after the order was brought to us they didn't check on us or clear away the empty plates. This was particularly annoying with all the wasps. Coffee and cake were good.

The hotel restaurant is in a great location and invites you to relax. But the waiters are filling up like nothing better, no good day, you are given a menu and two minutes later you are there and want to know what you want to order. Any demand was too much for them.

This is only about the restaurant. We parked outside and came in to ask about the meter, how to pay. We had to follow the guy who worked here saying excuse me while he ignored us for 5 whole minutes!!! A customer setting there was astonished! asking why is this guy treating you that way!!! yes why! is it bcz one of us is clearly a Muslim wearing a hijab? needless to say we did not eat here, nor we intend to do so ever.

Nice location right on the lake. Very good service before. Special meal requests were catered for without any problems. However, the lake house is not very centrally located. The Seehaus can be easily reached on foot via the ascending but relatively short Rießerser footpath. In terms of price, I found the lake house to be quite expensive if you only want to take a short break on a hike. Overall, a nice location in an idyllic place.

Great location with a view of the Waxebstein

This review only concerns the restaurant with a view of the Riessersee. We are currently staying at the Riessersee hotel, where the staff is generally very friendly. That is absolutely not the case in the restaurant. On our two visits this week, we were confronted with unfriendly staff. We did not feel welcome here.

It's a shame, very nice location, but apparently you don't really want to have or serve many guests. We arrived towards evening and sat down at a free window seat where people had obviously already eaten. About 5 waiters then walked past us without even looking at us. Since it was 8:30 p.m., no one wanted to serve us anymore. At some point a waiter came and took our order. The table, which was still dirty, was no longer cleaned. In my opinion, that doesn't work at all! Food was okay - except for the beef broth: Cheap packet soup, lukewarm, probably straight out of the microwave before the end of the day - inedible! Map very limited. Went there again alone and a third time with friends - the location is really nice. But again they weren't served at first. Our friends asked us if it was always like that here... So it doesn't seem to be a coincidence or accident, but rather normal there. After the last order and consumption, we asked a waiter for the bill. Here too we waited at least 20 minutes without anyone paying any attention to us again. At the third friendly reminder from our acquaintances, a waiter gave us such an evil look that it was cheeky! This is not how you should treat guests. I have the impression that there is a lack of motivation and good organization here. I think it's a shame that you only respond here with your "standard answer". This makes me feel like I'm not really being taken seriously and that's another reason for me not to stop there on our next holiday in Garmisch. Staff pays too little attention to the guests; They do not check whether everything is in order, they do not ask if you would like something to drink and eventually they say that the kitchen is already closed (at 8.45 pm) and that we could no longer order dessert. We were only told this after waiting a while for the menu and having to call a waiter for this. When paying it was downright rude; the waiter grabbed the ATM back from the table and walked away without saying anything. Disappointing. We couldn't see anything of the beautiful view because we were sitting behind a pillar inside.

Great lakeside terrace, very attentive and nice service. Non-alcoholic cocktails are highly recommended, the sausage salad was also great - but a bit too expensive for €13.

As a guest, you can also pay a parking fee of 7 euros per day for private parking. When I was a guest, I never met anyone who wanted to hear an oppressive reminder, but I always heard the ruitenwissers. Even as a guest you can pay the parking fee of 7 euros per day in the so-called private parking lot. And if you as a guest don't know this, you immediately have a threatening note behind your windshield wiper. We are sorry that we were guests here.

Drinks and cakes were decent. Friendly and helpful staff! Beautiful location directly with a sun terrace on Lake Rießersee.

Quiet place by the lake with beautiful views

We had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was incredibly tasty and everything was freshly prepared. The service was absolutely first class, it couldn't be better. Particularly worth mentioning is the Kaiserschmarrn – the best I have ever eaten in my life. A big thank you to Chef Dennis for his effort and the wonderful cuisine. Also a special thank you to the friendly waitress and the attentive waiter, whose names we unfortunately didn't get. It was just great with you, and it's a shame that our vacation is now over.

Poor service...it's like we're disturbing the servers. 20 min wait even though there were no crowds to take our order of 2 drinks. And not a smile, a word of apology.

Only recommended to a very limited extent for vegetarians. There are only Kasspatzen and baked potatoes to choose from alongside salad. A little uncreative. The waiter rolled his eyes at every other order. Really nice location but the service could be friendlier.

I really enjoy going to this restaurant. The restaurant has a lot of different foods to offer, I've tried a lot of them so far and I have nothing but high praise for the cookers. View from the restaurant, terrace is insane. The lake is beautiful and I can't decide whether summer or winter is nicer (my recommendation is to go there at any time 😊). Price-performance is top-notch, service is great, but the waiter is really incredibly professional. His name is Frimu Sorin. I can really recommend Frimu Sorin as a waiter 100%, he is incredibly experienced and professional, helpful, nice and friendly. He also has a very calm, pleasant and motivating manner. He is also competent when it comes to nutritional advice, so that you receive holistic care from him. Sorin is an absolute professional! A really top service!

Were only in the restaurant. The lake is overrated, completely silted up. But great ambience and view of the mountains. Service is very overwhelmed (topic: every course is slim) with little overview of whether an order has already been placed or not. The view of the surroundings when walking back and forth is missing. Food and wine list quite small, but sufficient. Despite the hectic pace, the waiter always has a good saying on his lips.

We were in beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the weekend and we couldn't miss a trip to Lake Riessersee. When the weather was beautiful, we first walked around the lake before renting a pedal boat. We were warmly welcomed there and enjoyed our little trip on the Riessersee. Afterwards there was refreshment in the Seehaus Restaurant, which offered a wonderful view of the mountains. The service staff was very friendly, accommodating and responded to our every request immediately. The food and drinks were great and really great value for money! All in all a successful day at Riessersee that we would recommend to everyone. We'd love to come back!

Great location in the middle of nature

The restaurant has a very idyllic location on Lake Rießersee. That's why we stopped there on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, we sat at the table for 20 minutes without one of the waiters passing us even asking about our order. In total there were only 10 tables occupied on the terrace. For unfathomable reasons, orders were taken from guests who arrived after us. After 20 minutes we left because we've never had such bad service before.

You sit here right on the lake, very comfortable. Lots of seating and enough sun protection. The service was friendly and attentive. The latte macchiato was very good and the tiramisu cake was a poem. Be sure to come here yourself 😊

We arrived around 2 p.m. and there were only 3 tables occupied. Unfortunately, out of 10 customers, the service delivered 3 incorrectly… No apology was given for the error This was also not taken into account in the invoice. The food and the view were good, but the service stopped us from visiting again.

We had dinner with you and what can I say. Top service, top food and the location and view are simply fantastic. We reserved a table by the lake and everything worked out great. We decided on crusty roast and spaetzle. Special requests were taken into account and it was super tasty. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarn, which took my shoes off, it was so delicious. Fresh from the pan, super caramelized and buttery with three kinds of compote. World class. Thank you for the lovely evening and see you soon.

If I hadn't had such a fire, I wouldn't have waited 20 minutes to get my beer. First the waitresses constantly walk past you and then you wait forever for your drink.

The kitchen does not work from 5 to 6. no chance to eat anything. I arrived little earlier and got a menu, but after I already selected dish - I was told I can not order anything before 6. That is bad service.

Fantastic view from the terrace over the Rießersee to the Manndl and Zwölfköpfer. Cakes and hot drinks were good! Very nice service!

Since I didn't have a room there, I can't rate it. But: The location is a dream. Lakeside terrace by the water, with a great view of the mountains. When the sun is still shining, I have to say: it couldn't be better. Clear recommendation.

The Kaiserschmarrn was divine. Very generous portion, we couldn't finish it. Very fluffy, with lots of applesauce. The service was very nice, tried very hard, and was happy to fulfill any special requests.

Hotel Riessersee/Seehaus! Wonderful location. We stayed in the lake house. Balcony view see photo. Room/suite with a small living room and walk-in closet. Clean and pleasant. The actual hotel is a few steps away and has several houses. We didn't eat there because it was only half board. Food in the Seehaus restaurant was very good. Price/performance okay. 3 very small starters in a glass for 12.90 euros, venison goulash was around 17 euros. Wine excellent. We didn't test the wellness area in the hotel because we were only there for 2 days. But looked very good. There were also applications. There was also a small fitness area. We will come back in any case.

Super friendly service, we felt comfortable. We sat outside for coffee and cake, with a great view of the mountains. I can highly recommend the apple pie. Unfortunately the cream in my hot chocolate was sour, but that was kindly replaced.

I know where to stay next time I am in Garmisch. I accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant when I did some exploring to see the lake. Food, beer and bread was outstanding. Service was top notch too.

After a long hike (with appropriate clothing and backpacks), we were still warmly welcomed. With a great view of the lake and mountains, we enjoyed the food, which didn't take too long to arrive. I think we were the only guests due to the time (4 p.m.) Roast pork and cheese spaetzle tasted good. As a result, the staff wasn't constantly present in the restaurant and when we needed something, we got up and ran to them. Nevertheless, the service was good 👍

We were here after the mini walk around the Riessersee. Nice weather, nice photos, great location, what's missing? Good food or good coffee and cake. So, up to the sun terrace, grabbed cookies, ordered...2 x hot chocolate and 1 x sour cream cake and apple strudel with vanilla sauce and fruit. The waiter came with a very compact apple strudel (at least not homemade) and a piece of cake that looked like cheesecake, tasted like a quark cake and was called sour cream cake. However, before that there was an exchange between my companion and the waiter about this.

Café closed on Sundays when the weather is perfect for excursions, no information anywhere. But a great circular route with a view of the Zugspitze around the frozen lake

Schöner Ausblick über den See. Leckeres Essen und freundliche Bedienung

Fantastisches Essen und Service! Wir waren in unserem Urlaub mehrmals dort und wurden selten so gut versorgt :) Auch die tolle Aussicht auf den See und die Berge ist erste Sahne!

Ich war an einem Sonntag Nachmittag mit mehreren Freunden auf der Terrasse um einen Kaffee zu trinken. Das super freundliche und verständnisvolle Personal ließ uns zwei Tische zusammen schieben. Leider war jedoch der Kaffee sehr wässrig und schlecht im Geschmack. Dafür zu teuer. Die Kuchen besonders der Bienenstich war trocken und wirkte als wär er vom Vortag gewesen.

Wie haben unsere Hochzeit im Riessersee-Hotel bzw Seehaus im Jagdstüberl gefeiert. Eine Wunde Location. Das Jagdstüberl ist für kleinere Feierlichkeiten bestens geeignet. Wir waren 10 Personen und das Jagdstüberl war einfach perfekt! Vorallem mit dem wundervollem Ausblick auf die Warstein Berge. Einfach nur traumhaft schön! Der Riessersee und die Berge, einfach "Wow "! Im Seehaus ist das Essen super lecker. Viel Auswahl und leckere Kuchen am Nachmittag. Die Zimmer sehr sauber. Und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Wir hatten das Zimmer 77. Mit dem wunderschönen Bergaussicht und dem See. Wir würden jederzeit wieder das Seehaus besuchen. Wir können es zu 1000% empfehlen! Wir hatten jedenfalls am 27. Oktober 2023 unsere Traumhochzeit am Riessersee-Hotel bzw Seehaus!

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Allerdings war der ein oder andere Gast etwas Arrogant unterwegs und sahen uns ganz schief an ( wir kamen mit Wanderrucksack und Wanderkleidung ) ist halt ein Wandergebiet:) Aber solche Menschen muss es ja schließlich auch geben. Aber unserer Bedienung war dies egal und hat uns genauso freundlich empfangen.

Toller Ausblick, super freundliches Personal und ein sehr gutes Essen, worauf wir nicht lange warten mussten. Preise sind auch völlig in Ordnung.

Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist natürlich top. Die Alpspitze im Hintergrund den Rissersee im Vordergrund sieht schon fein aus. Wer gerne sportgeschichtlich unterwegs ist kann hier in naher Umgebung sich im bob Museum umsehen bzw sich auf die Spuren der alten olympia Bobbahn begeben. Das Personal im Restaurant war freundlich und sauber war es im Restaurantbereich auch. Gerne wieder.

Speisen, Ausblick u Service im Seehaus Restaurant sind gut. Die Soße vom Maishähnchen schmeckte wie eine Fertigsoße bei einem Preis von 21,90. Hatte Bauchschmerzen anschließend. Der Zigarettenrauch der anderen Gäste sowie das Hundegebell der mitgebrachten Hunde, verunstalten die Atmosphäre u die frische Bergluft, sodass wir für unsere Ausflüge eine Alternative finden werden. Dies wurde bei 3 Service Personen angesprochen. Ohne Ergebnis. Daher Punktabzug beim Service. Vorschlag; Rauch- u. Hundeverbot einführen.

Waren nur etwas trinken dort und man kann nicht meckern . Das Personal war freundlich und das Lokal war sauber. Die Lage muss man nix zu sagen der riessersee im Vordergrund und die Alpspitze im Hintergrund sieht schon schick aus. Wer gerne sportgeschichtlich unterwegs ist kann sich dort die Reste der alten olympia bobbahm an sehen oder das Bob Museum.

War nur im Restaurant, kann nicht für das Hotel sprechen. Essen war sehr lecker, Lage phänomenal und die Preise durchaus akzeptabel. Nette, zuvorkommende Bedienung rundet das Bild ab.

Sehr schönes Restaurant direkt am See. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Torte schmeckt hervorragend.

Das Personal war super freundlich, das Zimmer schön und groß und das Frühstück top.

Man sitzt ganz toll auf der Terrasse Sehr freundliche Bedienung Die junge Frau mit Brille sollte öfter mal ein Lächeln im Gesicht haben 😉 . Essen klasse. Toilette sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen . Es wäre nett wenn Gäste mit Hunde dort sind auch die Hund egal welche Größe anleinen würden und nicht frei herum laufen lassen würden.
