Takumi in Düsseldorf

We stumbled upon Takumi by chance and had a delicious meal! Highly recommended.

Quick seating. Very good and quick food. Really good service.

The frames are simply heavenly, served piping hot. They're a little pricey but still acceptable. Personally, I really like the fact that you can change your order and simply leave out the meat.

We visited after 7:30 PM on Sunday. We were able to sit down right away without waiting. I went there on purpose because it was said to be a famous Japanese ramen restaurant. The restaurant is a bit small, and the tables are very close together, but it was not uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly. For 2 adults and 2 children, we ordered 3 ramen, 1 teriyaki rice bowl, fried squid, and 2 drinks, for about 76 euros. As for the taste… It may be the best restaurant for others, but I don’t think I would stand in line to eat there. It wasn’t delicious enough for my taste to be praised. However, the food was neat and clean.

delicious food and friendly and fast staff. the children loved the calamari gyoza and the teriyaki chicken. adults enjoyed the tan tan soups. both spicy and regular ones were great. would come back! 😄:)

Simply the best place in Düsseldorf for Ramen

Tokyo style ramen a great deception, broth ok (althought a bit greasy to my taste), egg totally overcooked, chashu just smelled and tasted bad. Not worth it.

Appetizers: • Karaage: The pieces of crispy chicken were juicy and very delicious. • Kimchi: Slightly too sweet, but still good • Mini Curry Rice: The sauce was too thick and salty, it seemed thickened with flour. Main: • Ramen: A big disappointment — the noodles were undercooked, the broth was weak and almost flavorless, and fried onion has no place in ramen.

I am not lying when I call this the most disappointing bowl of ramen I have ever had in my entire life. The noodles had very sticky texture and the broth was as if they used mass-produced powder tonkotsu seasoning. I had the delux tonkotsu with karaage and shrimp toppings and my friend the plain tonkotsu with pork belly topping (see photo). The pork belly was also subpar and looked /tasted more like steamed meat instead of chashu topping that has charred flavour and colour to it. We were very confused as we had been to one of their restaurants before and this was not at all the experience we remember. We only ate the toppings and left 80% of the broth and the noodles. We ended up asking the server if something was wrong with the kitchen on the day, with whom we could not communicate well because she did not speak good german nor english. Another table next to us overheard us and they said they were thinking that something was off, too. The same conversation happened at the cash desk, and the employee there did tell us that the recipe has changed since March. He then went on to offer some free gyoza coupons. We turned them down because we don't even live in Düsseldorf and don't want to risk wasting our visit to the town the same again. Not coming back. I do ask myself if there was a big change in their business policy because the ingredients were downgraded a lot and I find it so frustrating because it used to be a good place. I really want the owners to know that customers are not stupid and they will stop coming back in case they were doing this to cut the costs and hoping that people won't notice.

The ramen soup was very tasty overall, although the meat could have been a bit warmer. The service was extremely fast – it seemed as if the soup had already been prepared and the requested ingredients had simply been added. The kimchi was good, but almost not spicy at all – if you're expecting more fire, you'll be surprised. It's ideal for a quick bite, though. The ambiance is very functional, but not necessarily cozy. If you value good food and fast service, this is definitely the place for you!

This review is long overdue, but I was busy. We came here after a recommendation from someone, and on the outside, it looked like your typical ramen restaurant. The first red flag I got was when the lady said that the kitchen would be closing in 5 minutes but that we could order. The second red flag was how busy it was. Loud music and a lot of people talking. But I brushed it off because a lot of people should mean good food, right... right? Well, it wasn't. But I'll talk about that later. First, let's talk about the service. It was bad!! They either barely spoke English or were extremely rude. Pushing to order, not accommodating, and just talking down on us. Me and my friend are both Neurodivergent and we got extremely uncomfortable with the way we were treated. Especially as I didn't really get how the menu worked. Food came relatively quickly, and I hoped to have a good meal, but no, it wasn't good. The shrimp were cold and rubbery and weren't properly cleaned. The noodles were just basic spaghetti noodles. And the broth was extremely salty. Which was extremely unhealthy for me due to medical reasons. We tried to address these issues, but we got gaslit, talked over, and treated like little children. The manager said things like "we told you before ordering" and "no one else complained about the salt, it's just you who can't handle it". This is a blatant lie because there are multiple people in the reviews saying the ramen is salty and even the locals we spoke to (5 to 7 individuals) all said that the quality of the food really tanked in the last few years and more people complain about the salt. It left a very sour (and salty) taste in our mouth, and we wasted €33,10 in here for just two ramen bowls. Don't be like us, don't eat here unless you like rude staff and salty ramen! We didn't feel welcome, and it was clear in the behaviour of the staff with the way they treated us and the fact that they were cleaning and sorting things for the next day, right next to our table. Which is just rude as that sorta thing should be done àfter the customer leaves. So yeah, this is my review. Bad food, unwelcome atmosphere, and rude staff. And it's expensive also. This restaurant gets a 1/10, and even that is a generous rating

Wonderful food. No wonder there was a huge queue waiting to be seated (don’t worry, they get you seated in a short time).

We are a Spanish couple, we came two days in a row, we were amazed, I wanted to try a typical ramen and typical food and I loved the 19.90 ramen, it has shrimp and meat, it is the most expensive but the broth is amazing, the fried squid is a delicacy, the teriyaki chicken is spectacle, those three were my favorites, the octopus balls are not bad but I did not love it, I really recommend it, the staff is super nice and friendly, from today it is my favorite place, I love it, I will return without a doubt, the only bad thing is that people come around asking for money, if you sit at the tables near the road you will avoid it, thank you for everything

Very tasty ramen! If you're coming for the first time and don't know the difference between the two ramen soups, shoyu and miso, choose the miso. In my opinion, it's the best ramen. Highly recommended.

It is recommended to eat outside, on the terrace, otherwise your clothes will stink inside. The portions are really generous.

The menu is quite extensive. We were lucky to visit in the summer and sit outside — such a nice atmosphere! In colder seasons, it might be harder to find a seat inside, as the indoor space isn’t very large.

Delicious ramen! It's a must taste place in Düsseldorf. Definitely loved it. It's not pricey as well. Ramens were around 12-15 euro. Considering this is the most popular ramen place in Düsseldorf, worth it. Be prepared to wait a queue especially in the evenings or weekends.

Top ramen, great noodles in a rich broth, really fantastic quality! The delicate gyoza are also highly recommended. No reservation, just wait in line. Since the opening of the new branch, where all broths are veggie or chicken based, it has become easier to get to a table at this branch (all broths are pork based), despite the trade fair, only a short queue in front of the store, service as always quick and friendly

Although I have never been to Japan, I have tried several bowls of ramen before, and this one was definitely the best I have ever had. I cannot say if the taste was truly authentic or how it compares to ramen in Japan, but for me, it stood out among all the others I have experienced so far. Maybe ramen in Japan is better or different, but this bowl set a new standard for me personally.

Ramen tastes great! There were a few small things we agreed it wasn't for us. Takoyaki here are soft balls with a tiny piece of octopus inside, swimming in curry ketchup and mayo...it really tastes like currywurst fries, so Ruhrpott...

Six of us arrived early, having announced our arrival; we were kept waiting without ever being told whether it was possible or not. We were offered two tables, which we declined—they bullied us for another 15 minutes. It was just as the group's irritation became evident that we were offered a table inside. The service was basic: napkins thrown on the table, no glasses, a harsh tone if you dared to drink from a water bottle. Orders were taken just as warmly. The ramen wasn't bad, served very quickly. The broth was quite rich (we tried everything), but the eggs were all overcooked, and we're still looking for the marinade...

Busy place, crowded and small. But the food is good and you get served fast. I didn't mind it being cramped.

I looked forward to eating Takumi ramen again after a great dinner 2 years ago but last night was a disappointing experience. The ajitama was all "tama" and no "aji" (aka, a straight-up hard-boiled egg) and the chashu served was cold, tough thick slices with no tenderness to them. I hope this was a fluke from the kitchen and not the new norm.

I'm no expert on Japanese food, but when I was on Immermannstrasse, I decided on this restaurant, and I have to say, it was a good choice. My chosen dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was extremely friendly, and I was served promptly. I will definitely eat there again. The ambiance, in particular, made me feel like I was briefly in Tokyo.

The food was quite good, but far too expensive for the amount. We ordered gyoza once, among other things, and were told at the end that it was supposed to be two, even though we only ordered one. We then had to pay for two. Considering that the main courses are already quite expensive, it's outrageous that the staff insists on paying for the food we didn't order, simply because, of course, once the food arrives, you no longer pay attention to the quantity and just want to eat. You have to decide whether you want to take the risk and be treated like that. What we ordered also came in the order: appetizer, main course, and then the drink. Very incomprehensible.

We ordered three appetizers. Two of them didn't even arrive lukewarm. After we asked for them to be served as warm/hot dishes, things didn't get much better. They were served from the warming section again. Every subsequent order was ignored. Annoying!

Overall: The original! Delicious food in Germany's most famous ramen shop. Still: Overhyped. Positive: The food is really good, there isn't a single dish I didn't like. Fast service, well-coordinated team. Great atmosphere, the flair really comes through. Negative: You usually have to wait. The food is delicious, but I don't understand why the line is always so long. It's not exactly a flavor explosion. The time spent is limited to eating to increase customer flow. You can feel this as a guest.

Tonkotsu broth was very tasty. Quite a queue so be ready to wait in line.

I highly recommend it to anyone who likes ramen and Asian cuisine in general. On weekends, I highly recommend bringing your time! If you want to eat alone, it's relatively quick, but for groups of three or more, you should plan on about 30-45 minutes. Otherwise, not during the week, of course. The ramen is incredibly delicious, and the broth is simply divine. The service is very fast. It's not a restaurant where you'll spend more than an hour, so you have to be aware of that. It's a small, cozy place where you can just relax and grab a quick bite to eat. I enjoy it every time.

Zelfs op Japandag, waarschijnlijk hun drukste dag van het jaar, is de service hier voortreffelijk! Er staat een goed georganiseerde rij voor eten binnen of buiten en sneller dan verwacht kunnen we plaatsnemen aan een tafel op het verwarmde terras. De menukeuze is al in de rij gemaakt en opnieuw sneller dan verwacht krijgen we onze ramen, gyozu en gefrituurde kip geserveerd. Allemaal heerlijk! Gulle ramen portie. Om ons heen zien we fraaie meeneem dozen van Takumi voor wie de portie teveel blijkt en de rest mee wil nemen naar huis. Vriendelijke service. Onovertroffen.

Everything seemed ok but the Ramen was extremely bitter :( , I was too embarrassed to say anything at first I thought it was my poor knowledge of Ramen but a Google search says it should never be too bitter and my stomach is not feeling good. Maybe it was a bad batch but still, I hope they taste the broth before serving it

An authentic, lively atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff, and my veggie ramen was excellent. Intense miso, crunchy vegetables, and tender egg.

The sandwiches were delicious and the portions were really generous. The prices are also really good (sandwiches around €18 + a €4 drink). The only downside is that it's very cramped and therefore quite loud. But otherwise, we'd be happy to come back!

The ramen, fried chicken, and gyoza are tasty, but not earth-shattering. The best part of the meal was the miso soup. Takumi has such a good reputation, and I'm always disappointed because I find the food rather mediocre. It's nice that you can sit outside and get a seat relatively quickly, even on weekends.

Real Japanese with wit and charm, real Japanese food. Everything is soooo delicious. The only problem is, word has gotten around. It's always packed here. But the wait is worth it. Cult spot!

Very fast to bring out food once you order. If you go early enough there won’t be a wait.

The welcome today was very nice, even though it was busy. The takoyaki was great, as was the half chicken teriyaki. The Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen were ok, the noodles weren't completely through and angular, the eggs were still a bit soft, but more like 8 than 7 minutes. The broth was ok. Unfortunately, it only gets 3 stars, especially because of the main course.

We had extremely good ramen soups here. The sauce was very intense and rich in taste. All the ingredients were spot on. Delicious noodles. The portion size was very good and the relatively high price is okay. Outside you can sit quite comfortably in the middle of the Japanese quarter. Friendly and very fast staff. Food came after less than 5 minutes. Recommendation.

Whenever I'm in Düsseldorf, I try to eat ramen here. It simply tastes excellent. You feel like you've been transported straight to Japan. Cold recommendation!
