I ordered chicken ramen but ı did not like it so much

Minimalist decor, delicious food and drinks, fast and helpful service. Please expect waiting times at certain times.

I ordered the ramen because it was tonkotsu, but it had a very mealy taste.

The staff and everything else were quite nice, but the ramen tasted like instant noodles. The broth, however, was delicious. I just found the noodles themselves very uninteresting. The chicken was very tasty. I wouldn't come back for the ramen, but definitely for the chicken. The ramen was also too expensive.

It's very busy – it's definitely worth getting there early. 💪 The menu is extensive, there are many options, and everything looks fresh and delicious. The prices are absolutely fair, especially for the quality. 🤌 We sat right at the back, where there's a bit of a draft from the patio door, so it's best to keep your jacket on. 🥶 The bench was a bit wobbly, but that's part of the casual snack bar atmosphere. 😉 The atmosphere was nice and suited us, overall much more relaxed and less loud than at other takoyaki restaurants. The food came super quickly and tasted great – we'll definitely be back! 🇯🇵

There are many good noodle soup restaurants in Düsseldorf. The soups are all of a very high standard. But here at Takumi, the noodles themselves were remarkably delicious and, above all, very different from the competition. Top-notch service: short distances, of course. The ambiance: very cozy and it felt very authentically Japanese. I've unfortunately never been to Japan, but this is roughly how I imagine a noodle soup restaurant on one of the Japanese islands in a larger city would be. It was so delicious that we unfortunately forgot to take a decent photo at the beginning. We thought: a picture of an empty bowl says a lot.

Went here to get the pork ramen since the first one I had was only chicken at the first store. I have to say the chicken is better. Not as crowded as the tan tan men store.

I have tried other establishments (Amsterdam, Eindhoven and other ones in Düsseldorf). I think my best one still is Eindhoven, however this one was great. I had the spicy karaage tan tan men. It was delicious and surprised me with new flavours/combinations. Overall, I had a great experience and would come back if I'm ever in the city again.

I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. The broth wasn’t overly salty but was quite rich in fat, which gave it a bold flavor. The toppings blended well with the noodles and base, creating a harmonious dish overall. At €18, it was a bit pricey, but the portion size was generous. However, the waiting time was quite long, likely because I came during dinner rush hour. I barely managed to find a small spot for one person tucked in a corner. Most of the toppings were deep-fried, which, combined with the rich broth, made the dish feel a bit unbalanced lacking the freshness of vegetables. By the time I’d eaten about three-quarters of it, I didn’t feel full, but I’d had enough of the richness. That said, I still enjoyed the overall flavor.

We are a Japanese/Danish family who came to Düsseldorf just to shop for Japanese goods and eat authentic Japanese food, we understand that Tonkotsu ramen is one of the most complex ramen to make as the cooking time is long and has to be made with many bones and dried fish which can be an expensive soup, BUT, we were very disappointed with the thin soup. Their gyoza are small but taste good. The atmosphere and service were authentic, and our rating might be different if we hadn't ordered tonkotsu ramen, but what else do you order at a restaurant that calls itself Takumi 2nd Tonkotsu?! Only two stars from here…

Authentic and extremely delicious pork bone ramen, just like in Japan. The ramen can be quite intensive, even in the A2 with two extra toppings: garlic oil and hot sauce for perfection. I'm not a fan of Düsseldorf, but I'm back again. Thanks to Takumi 2nd, I'm so happy to be able to enjoy authentic pork bone ramen in Germany! And it's delicious! Unfortunately, I'm not from Düsseldorf, but I'll definitely be back! 😊

Not much to say, I’ve been a Takumi fan since a while. This one is no different, delicious as always. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen with black garlic oil. Perfection!

A small restaurant that doesn't look like much, but a marvel for your dining pleasure! Shaded dining room and terrace available at the back, pleasant atmosphere and the staff are proud to have a restaurant open since 2007. The selection of ramen is varied. Special mentions for the Tantan Men with chicken, very good and not too spicy, pleasant to eat.

Incredibly delicious ramen and very authentic Japanese! The selection is quite large, and there are also two or three vegetarian options. The veggie gyoza were also really good and crispy. The ramen is lovingly prepared, and the broth is very flavorful. The service was super friendly, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and relaxed. Definitely recommended if you're in Little Tokyo!

We didn't have to wait too long for a seat. We got a spot outside, but we didn't really like sitting there. And when the food finally arrived after 30 minutes, it was freezing cold.

This is my first culinary destination in Düsseldorf. The entire atmosphere feels like you're in Japan, and the food is simply amazing. It's a bit difficult to decide which soup to choose, but so far, no soup I've ever had here has been bad. We always enjoy coming back.

This is a very nice small restaurant with a terrace at the end. We’re from Barcelona and we’re staying here a few days and since there’s a Takumi in BCN we wanted to try it. The Kaarage Miso Ramen was spectacular, delightfull and super tasty. The Butatama Tonkatsu ramen too. We enjoyed and ate wonderfully. RECOMMENDED!

Anyone who loves ramen and Asian food in general should definitely try this restaurant. The selection is diverse, the staff friendly and attentive, and the kitchen works quickly, so you don't have to wait long. This is a place where good food and a pleasant atmosphere come together. When the weather's nice, you can also sit comfortably in the courtyard.

Great experience. Takumi always tastes good, and I wasn't disappointed this time either. The ramen was delicious. A must if you want to eat ramen. We were served quickly and didn't have to wait long. Highly recommended.

Delicious ramen in a somewhat smaller and crowded restaurant. A little cramped for seating. The ramen took a while to arrive, which wasn't a problem. The taste was perfectly fine, but nothing special. The meat had a slightly odd texture. Otherwise, the service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself was coolly decorated with appropriate music.

After receiving the japanese treatement, it will be difficult for me to go to other restaurants, high amount of respect and amiability given to the customer, which is a rare thing in western europe. As for the food, it's excellent. Highly recommend.

This is a super classic ramen location, and from what I've heard, they have other locations besides Takumi 1 in Dusseldorf. I remember seeing a Takumi in Antwerp, when I visited there. They have the regular staples at a tonkotsu ramen place, as well as some vegetarian options. Quantity is good, though service is slow. There was a large line, and when we were sat outside, it took quite a while for our server to visit us. They are clearly very busy. It's a great place to visit for a homey meal.

I ended up at Takumi 2nd on a recommendation. It's located a bit off the main street. My stay here was relaxing, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious.

If you miss Japan, this is a great place to start! They have a budget-friendly lunch menu. Highly recommended. The ginger on top isn't my thing, and I don't know it from the tonkotsu ramen in Japan. All in all, worth a visit! 🫶🏼

Hmm… Why? I think it would be better to just eat instant ramen, but I don’t know why the reviews are so good. The meat wasn’t good, and the frozen shrimp was undercooked or cold. I had high expectations because everyone said it was delicious, but I should have gone to another ramen place instead…

Authentic but portions are small

The pork is very very salty! It ruined all the taste. This is the first time I could not finish a Japanese ramen!

Good food, if you want authentic japanese food, this is a great start. However, they are far from being the best. Sadly I haven't found other tonkotsu ramen in Dusseldorf. But this was my least favorite. Additionally the karage was bland The takoyaki wasn't that great and I had trouble finding the octopus in them. It was so small. And the belly pork was also nothibg spectacular. The only thing I really loved were the gamba's in the soup. I would return here. But only because I love tonkotsu ramen.

I visited the ramen shop and had mixed impressions. Unfortunately, the ramen didn't really impress me – it definitely lacked flavor. The carrageenan, on the other hand, was really tasty and well prepared. Overall, the visit was okay, but I personally wouldn't order the ramen again. It was okay for a try, but not quite my taste.

We had to wait about 20 minutes for a seat outside in the walkway. The crowds always make you feel a bit stressed while eating. The Japanese lemonade was really, really delicious. Unfortunately, the Shoyu Ramen and the Karage Miso Ramen were completely oversalted for us, and we were very disappointed (especially considering the price and the line).

Gyoza were sadly only cooked from one side and feel frozen and storebought which considering I normally really like them, is disappointing. However this was at "Japantag" so there was a big rush which may have led to this oversight. An explanation, not an excuse. Edit: Later that evening while browsing some stores me and my companions found some deepfreeze gyoza which looked frighteningly similar to theirs...just for 6x cheaper

Edit: The ramen quality and the atmosphere of the store have declined significantly since the renovation. This is clearly noticeable in the miso ramen broth. As of 2024 (1-2 quarters) Takumi is a large ramen chain in Düsseldorf, but I highly recommend it. With its intense flavor and delicious food, Takumi is highly recommended. For my part, I would always recommend a "miso base" instead of a "shoyu base." For those who like things spicier and stronger, the "miso base" is perfect, but if you prefer something milder, the "shoyu base" is perfect.

At the end of March 2025, I returned to my beloved Takumi Tonkotsu after five years. I lived in Düsseldorf for many years and was a regular customer there back then. Unfortunately, they no longer served the vegetarian curry rice, which I always ate there. As an alternative, they now offer curry rice (with a little red chili, as before) with green-colored gyoza and pickled eggs. The dish was simply fantastic! The gyoza were colored with matcha and very crispy, soft and delicious on the inside. The pickled eggs blew me away! The service was also first-class, as always! Totemo kire des! Arigatoo Gozaimasu! Unfortunately, the grated garlic was no longer available on the table. I found that quite disappointing. The Japanese cold tea is no longer served directly in a glass like before, but in a cardboard container for you to pour yourself. That seems a bit cheap and doesn't really suit the restaurant. Apart from that, everything was wonderful as always. The loud tourists just really annoyed me. This place is still one of the best recommendations in the Japanese Quarter! However, I've read the other reviews, and honestly, I'm getting pretty angry! Others keep writing about broth and noodle soup?!?! That's Japanese ramen! If you want to eat broth and noodle soup, please buy German hospital food and leave those warm and extremely hospitable Japanese people alone!

Ich war Ende März 2025 nach 5 Jahren wieder in meinem geliebten Takumi Tonkotsu. Ich habe viele Jahre in Düsseldorf gelebt und war damals dort Stammkundin. Leider gab es den vegetarischen Curry Reis nicht mehr. Den habe ich dort immer gegessen. Als Alternative gibt es jetzt Curry Reis (wie früher auch mit etwas rotem Chili dazu) mit grüngefärbtem Gyoza und eingelegten Eiern. Das Gericht war einfach nur fantastisch! Die Gyoza waren mit Matcha gefärbt und sehr knusprig, innen weich und lecker. Die eingelegten Eier haben mich umgehauen! Der Service war auch wie immer Ersteklasse! Totemo kire des! Arigatoo Gozaimasu! Leider gab es den geriebenen Knoblauch nicht mehr auf dem Tisch. Das fand ich ziemlich enttäuschend. Der japanische kalte Tee wird jetzt auch nicht mehr wie früher direkt in einem Glas serviert, sondern in einer Pappverpackung zum Selbsteinschütten. Das wirkt etwas billig und passt gar nicht zu dem Lokal. Abgesehen davon war alles wie immer wunderbar. Laute Touristen haben mich nur ziemlich genervt. Der Laden ist immer noch eines der besten Empfehlungen im japanischen Viertel! Ich habe jedoch die anderen Rezensionen gelesen und werde ehrlich gesagt ziemlich wütend! Andere schreiben ständig etwas von Brühe und Nudelsuppe?!?! Das sind japanische Ramen! Wenn ihr Brühe und Nudelsuppe essen wollt, dann kauft euch doch bitte deutsches Krankenhausessen und lasst diese herzlichen und überhaus gastfreundlichen Japanese People in Ruhe!

Whenever I'm in Düsseldorf, I take the opportunity to go to Takumi - this time I was at Takumi 2nd and was thrilled. The taste took me straight back to Japan. The waiting time was significantly shorter compared to Takumi 1st, which made the visit even more pleasant. Friendly service and a nice, harmonious ambience round off the experience. The food was super delicious! We were really lucky and were able to get a spot straight away without having to wait long. The ramen was really authentic and perfectly seasoned - exactly what you want. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Definitely coming back!

My points of contact with Japanese cuisine have so far been limited. The menu offers a lot of choice and fortunately also some vegetarian and vegan options. The ramen we ordered was definitely delicious. As far as I can tell, the place seems quite authentic. The service employees are very nice. I would come back.

Very tasty ramen was served, you should perhaps pay a little more attention to the quality of the chicken, it could also be a personal opinion for me it was a little too gristle-heavy. I think it's nice that there is an outside area, but sitting on a beer tent set with very little space is so well. If you serve so many people a day, you should perhaps consider expanding the sanitary facilities and not just have 1 toilet ready to risk having 7 people standing in front of it at the same time. The service itself was super friendly and nice and the food came really quickly. In itself a great meal, but the company's values ​​should be better distributed, after all they are not a franchise company.

I was really looking forward to eating the tonkotsu miso, but I was disappointed to find out that it was no longer available. It is listed on the menu on their website, though. I hope they bring it back.

Just under €60 for 2 people, starter, 2x ramen and two drinks. Proud price... Small, nice restaurant, but damn narrow passage to the outside area, which suffered a lot from the draft of the outside door. You sat at a table for two and had to make yourself really thin and pull your arms in to avoid being jostled by the staff. The Chicken-Tantan-Men Ramen was absolutely not good for my taste but only lightly seasoned, even though it is listed as spicy on the menu. The broth was relatively thin and hardly had any outstanding flavor. Half a cold egg, 3 pieces of breaded chicken (also relatively tasteless and very fatty), few vegetables in the soup, mainly leek. The gyoza starter was perfectly fine and the sesame sauce was also very tasty.

Delicious! Even if there is a line, you usually don't have to wait. Food comes very quickly and is always delicious. The food, ambience and fast processing might take some getting used to for Europeans, but if you've ever been to Japan you know that's exactly how it works there!

Takumi 2 is always very full and you usually have to wait a while to get a seat. Reservations are not possible but they serve a very good pork broth. The recommendation from the house is very good.

Super tasty ramen and good service. It was relatively full and we had to wait outside for a table. But it went really quickly and we were already given the menu outside. Even though it was very busy, we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The toilets were also very clean!

I was in Düsseldorf on a Friday lunchtime in December and was looking for a Japanese snack bar/restaurant. The location is quite popular, so that at midday there is only room outside in the (heated!) beer garden. That speaks for the place. I had “Karaage Tantan men”, which tasted excellent. What I found to be a shame was that despite the hefty price, the breaded chicken pieces came out of the bag. This is also the only “criticism” point I saw the employees fetching supplies from the warehouse. Otherwise I can rate the service as typically Asian and very friendly. When I left the restaurant there was already a long line waiting outside.

Food was top, really quick. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and authentic, but there was no knowledge of English or German. Otherwise it's too tight for me, if something slips off the chopstick there's a risk that it will splash all the way to the neighboring soup bowl. I recently visited this restaurant and can only report a very disappointing experience. I was looking forward to a delicious meal, but unfortunately it quickly turned out that all the dishes contained alcohol. This wasn't on the menu anywhere! The staff didn't point this out to me either when ordering or when serving. When I asked for a soy without alcohol, I was only then told that every dish contains alcohol (because of the soup). I was very surprised and pointed out that this is not noted on the menu. Instead of being understanding, I was simply told it was my fault and had to pay for food that I couldn't even eat. In addition, the employees were hardly able to speak German and were also unfriendly and unaccommodating. I really can't recommend this restaurant, especially if you have to watch out for alcohol in your diet. It's a real shame because I was hoping for more.

We joined the queue and waited for 40 mins outside the door in winter. The place is so small. The Ramen was average and the soup was not what was desired. The staff are friendly and the food was served quickly. Honestly I won't come back again as it does not deserve 5 stars at all.

Ramen is great. Updated recipe of the soup creamy and delicious. Love it so much. Side dishes may arrive cold (frozen karage was disappointing). Narrow space is not welcoming, but they tried to apply new interior design. Great posters! And wish they would give stickers away for free.
