Swagatam in München

We ordered tandoori chicken masala and it tasted like absolutely nothing except cream and broth. Unfortunately totally dissatisfied!

The Swagatam is a fantastic Indian restaurant, with very friendly service, the food tastes great and the price is great. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit 👍, it is open all day long.

The three of us were here around lunchtime. Unfortunately there was only the lunch menu, but we still got up full and satisfied after eating. When we ran out of rice that we shared, we were immediately asked if we would like some more. At no extra charge we got the same amount as we got at the beginning and were all full at the end. The price and friendliness were unbeatable, only the small lunch menu was a shame.

Unfortunately, the food was extremely tasteless and I also had a stomach ache afterwards (I've never had that before with Indian food; it could have been a coincidence, but I'll notice it anyway...).

My first time at Swagatam. The menu is completely standard for Germany, but the cooking is excellent. I thought that if they can make such a delicious chicken jalfrezi, it must be worth going back to try other dishes. Service was very friendly and prompt. Update: I went back and tried the Achari Chicken Tikka from the tandoor. Delicious and spicy, best in Munich so far.

I was eating at Swagatam today and I noticed that the toilets are very unhygienic. There were several spots of black mold on the ceiling of the toilet. The food itself was good and the service made an effort.

We’ve been coming to eat here for the past two years at least on a monthly basis! Love it. I especially love the service provided by the lady and gentleman here. My kid loves this place too. They were super sweet to him. Thank you!

Very good service The chicken curry was nice and spicy and really great with a cold lychee juice.

An authentic Indian restaurant with a great service. We opted for thali and all the dishes were tasty. The prices were reasonable and the service was wonderful.

The place is beautiful, the food very tasty! The variety is great and the service amazing!! We were served by Nirzana, a very kind and patient woman. She explained everything that was new to us and answered all of our questions, she even did so in Spanish! This just became my favorite Indian restaurant. I will be visiting again for sure and recommending it every time I can. Thank you, Swagatam, Nirzana, and everyone who works there creating the amazing atmosphere and food!

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The service was friendly, but extremely slow. The atmosphere on site was better than expected and not as bad as it looked in the pictures. The main problem, however, was the food: the chicken korma was absolutely tasteless and the mango chicken was way too sweet. Overall the experience was unsatisfactory and therefore I can only give the restaurant a poor rating.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Munich. It's very cozy and has an authentic feel. The staff are very friendly. And the food is 😋😋 very good.

The outdoor area is nice although it's at the street side, dishes are delicious and service friendly and supportive.

I took a vegetarian dish with me twice, always spinach with cheese, an actually vegetarian dish. Plus a naan. The first time, the taste was relatively boring. On the second visit it was the same again, the taste was unspectacular. Unfortunately there was a piece of meat in the dish, that really shouldn't happen.

While the service is nice and friendly, they are quite disorganized and chaotic. Unfortunately, the food is very adapted to the German palate, it is very little seasoned and unfortunately far from authentic.

We had a quick, delightful lunch here on a sunny day, eating at a sidewalk table in this sweet and quiet Schwabing neighborhood. Service was prompt and friendly, and our order came quickly. Vegetable samosas (pea and potato, delightful pastry), butter naan (decadently buttery, just right), a tomato salad (to help cut thru the carbs!), and the main dish, a very lightly spiced, nicely flavored Tandoori Chicken Tikka Masala. That we ate every bite says it all. We'll be back to try the vindaloo.

Although I have never eaten there, I have been picking up food for years (I live around the corner). So time for a really great review. The food is really tasty, always the same good quality. I have never been disappointed and no matter who has tried it so far has loved it. Keep it up 👍🏼

Very nice Mango Lassi, Saag Paneer and appetisers. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was cosy. Would highly recommend. Prices are reasonable for the area.

We went to a restaurant with a friend and children. We ordered 2 of the most popular dishes, which were really tasty and nout. It's also an interesting presentation, on small heated stoves. The waiters' work, at the highest level. My friend and I, and even the children were very satisfied. We'll be happy to come again. Thank you ❤️

We visited this place today for lunch and food is delicious. So far best food in Our German visit. Staff are very friendly and warm.

Very friendly, I find the food (I eat vegetarian/vegan) very tasty, in my opinion better than other Indians. Just one request: when you go to get something, you get a lot of Styrofoam garbage! Please switch to cardboard or a reusable system. Thanks!!

Update 10/2022 I've eaten here twice now for a long time and I have to say that the quality of the chicken seems to have changed a lot. Unfortunately the tikka chicken was very tough and rubbery. Also when chewing, which indicates poor quality... What a shame! ******* Enjoy your meal. Was there once and ordered chicken tikka. The chicken was very good! The sauce is basically the same as in almost all Indian restaurants. But basically one of the best Indians in Schwabing at the moment!

It is a wonderful place for dining with family and can accommodate lots of people. Will be going there again.

There is nothing special in terms of taste. I had a vegetarian dish (it was an almond sauce with eggplant) and unfortunately it didn't taste like anything. I wouldn't go there again.

We had a great lunch experience at Swagatam. The "Butter Chicken" and "Chicken Tikka Massala" we tried were tasty and satisfying, a pleasant surprise considering the affordable prices of the lunch menu. While you shouldn't expect gourmet quality at these prices, the food certainly exceeded our expectations. The standout feature, however, was the exceptionally attentive service; we felt warmly welcomed and thoroughly cared for throughout our meal. The atmosphere is fine, i would say they made the best out of the location in the basement. In summary, definitely a place we'll return to, especially for the budget-friendly lunch menu!

Super essen und die perfekte Portion

Ich habe bestellt und das Essen war nur ok. Das Butter Chicken war mir zu tomatig. Naan Brot lecker.

Wir kamen an einem Freitagabend kurz vor Ladenschluss Trotzdem wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und das Essen war lecker, frisch und kam sehr schnell. Die Portionen sind mehr ausreichend und das Preis leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Ich empfehle die tandori Platte, das Koriander minz Gericht ist etwas spezieller - wer auf minz Zahnpasta steht, wird wohl glücklich damit 😅 Die Vorspeisen Platte war etwas frittier lastig aber das ist wohl die indische Küche

Sehr lecker und sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Eine große Auswahl von Fleischgerichten, aber auch für Vegetarier gibt es eine schöne und abwechslungsreiche Karte. Sehr zu empfehlen.

My friend and I had Bombay Alu and Dal Tarka and it was really delicious. It was perfectly spicy for someone with a south Asian spice palette and very flavourful (i believe they made it more spicy for us ☺️) altogether we paid 31 for two dishes and two cups of chai!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl- gefühlt,sogar die Musik im Hintergrund war angenehm Und passend von der Laut- Stärke her! Angenehmes Restaurant mit sehr gutem Essen, günstigen Preisen und freundlicher Bedienung. Wir waren zu mehreren und konnten uns unterhalten, ohne schreien zu müssen (ist nicht überall möglich). Unbedingt empfehlenswert !

Sehr gutes indisches Restaurant mit gutem Essen, super Service und angenehmen Ambiente. Preise sind für München, insbesondere Schwabing mehr als fair. Die Gerichte sind frisch zubereitet und schmecken authentisch gewürzt.

Excelente custo-benefício. Pedi o prato do almoço e vinha de graça uma das duas opções: sopa ou salada. Achei ótimo!

This was the first time eating at Swagatam. The atmosphere was cozy, clean and dimmly lit. Staff attentive and friendly. The chicken biryani was very good and we had a spicy lamb dish that was amazing. I hope you don't raise the prices. This is another plus. We paid for €36 with drinks.. good portions too. We will be back in the future.

Wir bestellen hier häufiger zum abholen und es ist immer sehr gut und schmackhaft. Dieses Restaurant hat uns zur indischen Küche gebracht. Preis-Leistung ist Top und der Service ist immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend!
