Swaad - The Indian taste in München

Tasty Indian food. Tried many dishes from here, all were good. Autentic vada pav topping the list. Our Go To restaurant.

Probably my favourite Indian restaurant in Munich. They have many vegetarian options and spices always feel perfect complementing each other. Last time I ordered Paneer Butter Masala and they asked how spicy I want it (I don’t enjoy too spicy food) and they got it perfectly balanced. Just note that the venue is quite small (~7 tables) so you should go either earlier than anyone else or try to book. They also have great delivery. Did so many orders already. Also, not need to order extra rice cause it’s already included with most of the meals. But I think garlic naan is a must!

Food is really good. Especially Indo-Chinese dishes are amazing. Affordable and at the same time a really happiness to people craving Indian food.

We're still waiting for our order and a glass of water. The food was the only thing that was good. There are 5 tables in the whole restaurant but it takes 45+ minutes to take an order. We ordered 3 main dishes (every dish should come with rice) but we got 1 small portion of rice plate. Upon requesting more rice, it took them more than 30 minutes to acknowledge our request. By the time we had already lost our appetite.

Food is just class one of best Indian restaurant in Munich

This is one my go to restaurants in Munich if I want to eat something besides curry. Vada pav here is very good, it can compete with any Vada pav stall in India. The chat options here are pretty good compared to some other places in Munich. For the eggetarians reading try their egg curry simply the best in Munich. Chicken curry here is my go to, it's hardly ever been a miss in this place. Most of the maharashtrian food here is pretty good if you're into that taste. Personally, being from the north of India I am hardly impressed by any of the curries in Munich but this place does them justice. They can have a bad day once in a while when it's pretty late in the evening, so I would suggest you to try to be early. The ambience of the place isn't that great, it's not for a great evening but to eat your heart out.

Food is good, but service is super slow, have to wait for someone to take the order, remind after waiting for a long tine.

Good place Incase you crave Indian food. Catering Indian spicy food according to expectations. But very slow service. Waited for 20 mins just for someone to take an order, restaurant wasn’t even crowded at that time.

Highly disappointing. Manchurian didn't taste fresh. Misal was extremely oily and was not looking edible, so had to return it. Samosa chaat was also okayish. Had heard some good reviews about this restaurant, but won't visit here again. They need huge improvements.

Most Authentic Maharashtrian Restaurant

Really amazed to see the quality of food. I would advised everyone to visit. We had Vada pav and misal pav, it gave me the best taste which I had back in Mumbai.

We have been here after October fest with big hunger and they didn’t tool long to serve us even with rush hour of weekend. Food was delicious with fast service, specially Marathi test. We are vegetarian and there are plenty of vegetarian options available.

This is the place to go if you are looking for some authentic Maharashtraian food in Munich. We went on Friday night at around 7 pm. Resturant was almost full by that time, we got a table in 5 mins. Menu is good, Maharastrian specialisties are clearly marked. We ordered Veg Manchuria, Misal Pav, Mutton Kharda and Mathha(Chaas). All the food items very delicious. Highly recommended

Yummy yummy the real taste of India

After a long day trip, my husband and I decided to bring home some biryani for dinner. We visited Swaad Restaurant around 8 p.m., where my husband ordered the Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani. We waited for a while outside, and when I went in to check on the order, it was ready. The price was €13.50, and we were excited to try the food. While the chicken pieces were large and flavorful, we felt the portion of rice could have been more generous. One of the pieces of chicken and some of the rice were a bit overheated and smelled bad, which affected the overall experience. My husband, unfortunately, didn’t enjoy his dinner as much as we had hoped. We understand that these things can happen from time to time, and we look forward to visiting again with the hope of a better experience. Thank you, and we hope you consider this feedback to improve future orders!

Ordered food multiple times from here and they do not fail. Enjoyed the exact Indian style Chinese in Germany after a long time. Portions are also great per price. Overall value for money!

Food was tasty and spicy. Although we had to wait a bit to get our food. We went around 3pm. They offer extra rice as well without any added cost. We paid in cash and got some discount. They also accept cards. It is close to passing station. Definitely worth visiting.

"The food is mediocre at best, but the real issue is the staff. It's honestly better to order online, as the employees at the restaurant have no idea how to talk to customers. Their rude behavior and lack of professionalism is shocking. It feels like the staff act as if they own the place! This kind of attitude is completely out of place, especially in Germany where customer service is valued. The only saving grace is the owner, who is a really nice guy – but unfortunately, his staff doesn't reflect his attitude."

Loved the chicken sukka (good Maharashtrian masala) and Mattha( drink). Ambience should be improved for sure. Prices are reasonable too.

I have never eat such authentical food in the Munich . I have ordered kadai paneer, daal makhni, mutton sukka, and other dishes, all were very delicious. I'm gonna rate this restaurant.

One of the best Maharashtrian Restaurant in Germany👌👌

We wanted to try Maharashtra cuisine and visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. The place is very small and hygiene was not up to the mark. Below were the dishes we tried: Pani Puri: Good. They kept the spiciness at a decent level. Vadapav: Excellent. The flavours were spot on. Bharva baingan: Below average. The masala was so much that it lacked balance. Chicken kharda: Below average: The gravy was diluted up to the point that it tasted very weak flavour wise. Also, they added boiled chicken to the gravy instead of pan fried chicken, so that didn't go well together with the gravy. Also, we missed the welcoming feeling here and they didn't show the enthusiasm while receiving new customers(us). I hope they improve on all these aspects in the future.

I am a very regular customer of Swaad, and their Indo-Chinese is my favorite. Today I ordered Dal Makhani and Nan for a change .The food was super take , but I found a piece of steel scrub which is used to clean utensils in the food, which I accident ate too. While chewing I realized I have eaten something unusual. I don’t know what damage it would have led to. So that makes me question the hygiene and the carefulness in terms of cooking.

Downright one of the best Indian restaurants in Munich. Definitely the best Maharashtrian restaurant in the city. You’re missing out if you haven’t tried it, people.

pav bhaji was a tad bit spicy but maatha was best I've ever had in my life

After a long time, ate such delicious Bada Pav and had to eat it twice. Is very authentic, just like in Maharashtra. Served very politely. My request for additional red chutney and fried chilli was also fulfilled. Good price-performance ratio. I ordered Mutton Sukkha with bones to take with me. Will update here after I try it. I'd love to come back again and again!

We dined in this restaurant on 03 Aug 24 as. A family. The food here is out of place. Every dish is unique in taste. In most of the Indian restaurants the gravy taste all the same for every dish. Here every dish is authentic Indian and flavourful. I can highly recommend this place for the taste and definitely the price and quantity. We ordered Veg Thali, Chicken biryani, Chicken Tikka, Paneer pakora, Mango Lassi, Chance, Veg Manchurian. All cost just below 100€. Please please visit this restaurant and you would know this review was genuine.

I would say this was the first time in Germany that i felt this restaurant was authentic Indian or Maharashtrian restaurant and I really enjoyed my time there. I had Chicken Sukka and Chicken Rassa, Tandoori chicken which was really great and the taste was just like what i get back at my city. Overall the ambience was good. The owners were very helpful. On the weekends you may have to wait and that's a good sign that you will be served tasteful indian cuisine. Overall my experience was great, I would like to definitely visit this restaurant.

Unfortunately, there are not many Indian restaurants in Germany that are very authentic. However, there is nothing wrong with "Swaad - The Indian Taste". The dishes are deliciously prepared and taste like in India. In particular, the Marathi specialties from the Indian state of Maharashtra are rarely found in Germany in such high quality and are highly recommended. One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever visited!!

My girlfriend is studying here in Munich and she came to eat here with her flatmates once and has been telling me about it non stop. Now that I've eaten here I understand. It's a small cozy restaurant. The service was fast and the staff were nice. The Samosas were incredible, the spice level of Chicken Vindaloo was light and the flavour was perfect. Everything we ordered was beyond my already high expectations. 10/10 would recommend

If you are looking for authentic Indian food, specifically maharashtrian style, this is your go to place. I can bet on the consistency of taste. Mutton curry just blew my mind. Pleasant surprise was Brownie sizzler. If I had the option to give more than 5 stars, I would happily give. The owners, the staff, food & service top quality. Once you visit, you will get addicted to the taste & food. Highly Recommended!

They really serve authentic taste here. The food is just as I know from back home in Maharastra. It's an absolute rarity to find a restaurant serving regional Maharashtrian food in Europe. What a brilliant initiative! I went there with the other German friends and family and they were absolutely blown. They said that they hadn't really enjoyed Indian food so much. I would urge visiters to ask for the Maharashtrian specialties and try them out! Also the staff was very friendly. The service was a bit slow but I think that's because they are a new restaurant and there's some experience to be gathered. Best of luck to the team! Please keep the authenticity and the taste!

I really impressed with Mahantashtrian food offerings. Vada pav was best. Sukha curry with little less oil would have perfect. But, overall taste and ambience was really nice. I really look forward to visit again in future.

Pav Bahji was quite good, chicken sukka, other maharastrian meals also. Friendly staff. I think some meals a bit overpriced tough (also considering the portions sizes) for example Misal Pav. I would see it more as a starter.

This restaurant came as a recommendation from an Indian colleague, and it did not disappoint! We dined in their annexe, which had the look and feel of small restaurants in Singapore (that's a good thing). The food was excellent, the staff very friendly even though they were busy, and we'll definitely be back!

Small authentic Maharashtrian outlet with very friendly staff. It becomes full house fast on weekends due to high demand, still service is good. 4 stars only because the day I went pav was sold out and unfortunately I didn’t get to try the authentic street delicacies. Taste was quite good. Very vegetarian friendly! In crowded times you may need to be patient and wait for the food! They make the food fresh! Fried rice and Gobi Manchurian took me back to India! Mattha was little sweet for my tongue! Chai has scope for improvement (but that is personal opinion). If you want good Indian food in Munich, this is a must visit

This newly opened Indian restaurant in Pasing completely exceeds expectations. Despite its modest size, with seating for about 25 people, the place radiates authenticity. The menu is impressively extensive, offering a wonderful balance between vegetarian and meat options, ensuring there's something delightful for everyone. Each dish we ordered was a testament to genuine Indian cooking. The chicken tikka was tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced. The chana masala (chickpea curry) was creamy, rich, and had an earthy flavor that paired beautifully with the excellently baked naan. The vegetarian biryani was another standout, featuring perfectly cooked rice that was flavorful and aromatic. To top it all off, the mango smoothie was fruity and creamy - a perfect accompaniment. While the wait for our food was a bit long (around 25 minutes), it was undeniably worth it. The service was warm and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. In terms of value, this restaurant offers a great price-quality ratio. The portions are generous, leaving you feeling satisfied and content. I got one of best service from Swaad The Indian Taste from alround munich. Good vegetarian variety along chicken. Good atmosphere pure Maharastarian atmosphere. Mind blowing taste 😋. The way of communication with great. Highly recommedable place for indian to get pure indian vibe.

2nd time in a row despite complain regarding the last takeaway where there was too much tamarind & salt. Today the samosa filling which I took as takeaway have already gone bad.

Swaad has the best Indian food in Munich! Their Maharashtrian food is delightful.. The Vada Pav is a mouth watering treat and so is the sukka chicken and the lollipops ! They have some Indian favourites like chicken Manchow soup and ras malai which are a rarity in other Munich restaurants. In terms of ambience - it’s no frills and pretty basic - but who cares about this when the food is just too delightful.. My only request to you guys is to open a place in Munich City too :) Cheers ::

Great food and portions for the price. Every our group ordered had unique taste which is uncommon here in Germany. This has to be the best Indian food in Germany. No wonder this small place is packed with Indian guest all the time.

Cozy place, we tried hyderbadi dum biryani(which was good), mutton sukkah(amazing and must try) vada pav and misal pav(decent taste), lassi(decent),mattah/chaas/buttermilk(decent).

Really excellent Indian food, among the best we've had in Munich. Good levels of spiciness and delicious flavours in the starters and mains. The restaurant is quite small and it got quite busy while we were there, so the atmosphere was nice and lively! The service was quick, attentive and very friendly. We'll be back!

I was in the Restaurant about a month ago & taste of the wada paav still lingers in my mind. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff & attentive owner were an amazing addition to the delicious Maharashitrian food (we had Wada pear for starter with Tea, Prawn curry & Misal, which retained the originality of the flavor while the spice level was friendlier to the sensitive palette. (you can always ask for the Indian spice level though ;)) Overall, looking forward to being here again ^^

An authentic Indian restaurant.

The food here is very good. I was there for the second time today. The owner spoke to us personally and gave us some food recommendations. The owner and the staff are very friendly. Today my chicken lollies were unfortunately still raw in some places. When I brought it up you apologized and offered to bring something new or take it off the bill. We also got a small dessert at the end. I think that's good customer service. Mistakes happen. I will eat or order here again.

I found the restaurant based on Google reviews. We sat in the “next room” for the first time. The atmosphere is really underground, but please don't let that stop you. The food is fantastic!
