Amazing experience and food. Almost close to authentic Indian/Marathi cuisine

Great service and a lovely restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was just average. The soup was very good, but the main course wasn't that great. The naan was too dry, and the sauce unfortunately lacked zing.

Very delicious food and absolutely dog-friendly! Our dog was given a drink right away – really thoughtful. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. An all-around lovely visit to the Indian restaurant – we'd love to come back!

If you are going to enjoy the typical Indian food and atmosphere this is not it. But it's nice place to visit. Good german Ambience. Pleasant one I would say. And good Indian biryani taste.

Update: Unfortunately, meat (chicken) was found in a dish explicitly labeled as vegetarian. That's completely unacceptable!

There were several of us, aged 16-18. The negatives: First, the waitress didn't speak any German, only English, which I find unsuitable. The food is, as expected, good Indian at moderate prices. Not a gourmet temple, but very good value for money, and the portions were large.

Now my favorite Indian restaurant in Munich. Amazing flavours, staff are very nice and the restaurant itself is very nicely designed and looks quite classy. Highly recommend a visit, it is just a few min walk from Pasing Sbahn station

A thoroughly successful evening. My wife and I had a wonderful evening with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. The appetizers were flavorful, the mango lassi wonderfully refreshing, and the main courses perfectly seasoned – everything was cooked to perfection and in just the right portion size. The service was friendly and attentive, and the terrace was a truly pleasant place to sit. We'd love to come back!

For takeaway, I had Kadhai Paneer and Veg Jalfrezi with Paratha. Both were really good, especially the KP. Will definitely visit again and enjoy the ambiance next time, as it looked good when I went to take the food.

A must try place for great Maharashtrian food. I have tried the following dishes - 1. Sev Bhaji with Chapati 2. Samosa chaat 3. Chicken fried rice (Indo- Chinese) 4. Shrikhand All these 3 dishes were excellent. Their service is very nice too. The ambience is very soothing. Not the typical weird Indian decor. Parking is not easy but it is less than 5 minutes walk from the Pasing station.

Unfortunately, the food was still too spicy for us in four different dishes. The price was at the upper end of our tolerance.

I ordered the Mutton Sukka on the bone for delivery. The sauce itself was good, as was the portion size. However, there was so little meat on the bones that I would be ashamed to serve that to a dog. Charging €18(!) for this is truly outrageous. Besides, the food started to make its presence felt in my digestive tract a few hours later. Overall, I can only say that I will be giving this restaurant a wide berth from now on, as the value for money is absolutely poor.

It's a bit small, but the quality of food it's good and the staff is friendly. Even if the place was full they brought relatively quick our food and we're satisfied with the portion as well. Fair price and you can have refills of rice.

Best Indian food I had in Munich. The vada paav and paav bhaji deserves a special mention. Service is attentive and friendly. Whether you’re a homesick Maharashtrian like me or simply a foodie looking to try something new, this place is highly recommended.

Just brilliant. Pure taste. AUTHENTIC INDIAN. Great hospitality, warm welcomes, food recommendations, friendly staff. By the way they already have two restaurants in Munich We are a foodie indian vegetarian family settled in UK for 17 years. So we know what is Good North Indian taste. We were travelling from UK to Austria by car and stopped for food here. A little outside, didn't want to go in the centre with our left side driving skills! But what amazed us was brilliant taste. When it comes to food nothing else matters. We asked to get Kadhai Paneer and a few Naans. Rice is complimentary anyway with vegetable dishes. We wanted one more vegetable...the Guy (Megh) suggested sev bhaaji. He was quite helpful and after patiently listening to our preferences suggested the curry and it was indeed worth it. Thanks to him. He even made one of my drinks complimentary. The restaurant otherwise is quite big inside. Offering a lot of space with good distance between tables. There is outdoor seating space as well. Nice and clean. Brilliant experience overall. Must go once and see for your self!

Amazing food and great staff. Our waiter was very forthcoming and happy to suggest options of food we should try. We enjoyed every bite of our food and can highly recommend this place. We'll definitely come back.

We went there last evening with a few friends who were visiting us from Berlin. We had dropped by pretty late only to have a few starters. Though it was pretty close to the time for last food orders, the staff were patient with our requests. Swaad Pasing has moved to nicer bigger quarters. Though I didn't mind the space they had before, the new place is pretty spacious and elegant. The food was delicious as always. The vada pav with the Hausgemachtes pav, fluffy like a cloud, and the authentic thecha brought back memories of Pune. We also got chicken achari tikka after much deliberation, and it did not disappoint. Alongside the mattha, and the mango mastani to close off the affairs, I regret not going there with a bigger appetite. 😋

Please go and try with other restaurants near by. Quality of food is not at all good. Not worth!!!

The food and portion size was good. Although the manchao soup was extremely spicy and not up to the price €8. We tried the Swaad mutton and veg kofta, both were really nice. We stayed there for 2 hrs which was disappointing, the service was slow. Overall the prices were nominal.

We were extremely satisfied with the food. We were there in the afternoon when it wasn't busy. It was truly delicious, but the service was unfortunately rather poor. The waiters weren't attentive and had trouble understanding us. We had to wait quite a while for drinks, and the dishes weren't cleared away for a long time after the meal.

Very nice place to visit with authentic tasre and refreshing drinks. Location is very good and easily accessible. Very friendly staff.

I ordered the food through UberEats, so I can't comment on the service. The food was absolutely delicious and would have been even better if I'd eaten it in a restaurant. (Hot). I therefore fully recommend it.

UPDATE: After the move, the food continues to be of a high quality. Prices have been raised and are now in line with the Munich average. The ambiance now matches the quality of the food. I've always enjoyed coming here for business meetings. Now, it's even better.

Unfortunately the food was always too oily. I clearly them to make it less oily but it’s always too oily. I’ve been there 4 times. Twice I order veg curry, once veg biryani, once matkichi usal. Chai served was always cold! I don’t recommend but one can go if they love a delight covered in oil

I found the restaurant based on Google reviews. We sat in the “next room” for the first time. The atmosphere is really underground, but please don't let that stop you. The food is fantastic!

I would like to give some honest feedback about my once-favourite restaurant – Swaad. Earlier, you used to offer complimentary tea, which was such a warm gesture. But now, even that has been charged. More importantly, the experience has gone down mainly because of the new staff. The recently hired Punjabi staff is extremely arrogant and disrespectful towards customers. This is very disappointing and not at all the Swaad we once loved. I used to visit every weekend, but just because of the staff’s rude behaviour, I have completely stopped coming. I kindly request you, Pravin Dada – either please change your staff or teach them basic manners. They behave as if the restaurant belongs to them, and this attitude is ruining your hard-earned goodwill. Hope you take this feedback seriously and bring back the old Swaad we all cherished.

Beware of this scam. I ordered through Wolt and received dry meat that was almost inedible. When I called, they couldn't find my order and hung up.

The food is very fresh, the ingredients are good, they make great Maharashtrian food, the vadapav is great, chicken dishes are tasty. We didn't like bhakari though, it was not good bhakari. The service is great and quick, the atmosphere is average.

Ordered butter chicken too tangy and wayy off from actual taste of butter chicken. Chicken biryani somehow the chicken has very unpleasant taste and the Maharashtrian chicken curry is not the same we had before in swaad same chicken has very unpleasant taste to it. Over all it was not the same experience we had with swaad before unfortunately. A sad dinner!

Twice have a ordered a maharashtra style mutton curry, once Mutton Kharda and then Normal Mutton Curry. Both were utterly disappointing, bland, watery, saltless. These high reviews have deceived me twice.

Beautiful shop, had reserved in advance. Service is great and I like it when the service staff give guests tips on the spiciness of the food or general tips for eating. My starter was incredibly tasty and if I'm in Munich again, I would go there again! The furnishings are finally not typically Indian (which doesn't mean to sound negative) they are simply absolutely modern and harmonious.

The overall food experience was good. The dishes such as chicken lollipop, chicken jalfrezi, chicken vindaloo, Mutton Rogen Gosht, Vada Pav and Veg Thali (especially Bharleli vangi, kanda bhaji) were amazing. If you want to eat Indian food in Munich, you can blindly go to this place, it would be worth it. The only dish which was disappointing, was mutton nilgiri. It had way too much mint. Felt like they added mint like we add methi in methi matar malai. And also, salted lassi wasn't great. Cheers ✌🏼

We ordered Chicken Masala, Samosa Chaat, Chicken Vindaloo and garlic naan. Everything was utmost delicious! The chicken is very juicy and full of flavour. And the biggest recommendation is Samosa Chaat: the best in town!

We had a nice food experience in 2024 at this restaurant, therefore we visited again. Cons: But this time Pav-Bhaji had only Potato in it. Sev-Bhaji currry was unfortunately more liquidy. Pro: Lassi was delicious and Paneer curry was tasty as well.

Since we are staying in Pasing, We were 3 times in this place and today 13/4/1025 is the 4th time and we always used to think very highly of Swaad taste (based on our earlier experience and our Marathi friends). However today on 13.04.2025. We ordered to eat Misal Pav, Vada Pav, Samosa chat and Chilli Panner. Samosa chat and Misal pav is really good. And Vada pav is ok ok, But Chilli panner The taste was very weird annd just soyasause with more paprika. And I observed the hospitality is not really good, I felt like they don’t care of South Indians even though speaking in Hindi. I paid 36 Euro, finally while leaving I asked mouth freshener(Mukhwas) the person in the counter said that, it’s empty and we don’t have with lot of reasons. Honestly I was recommended this restaurant to my German neighbours but I think this will be the last time and we will never go to this place again.

We were regularly going to this place in 2024 and we always used to think very highly of Swaad and used to enjoy the food and reception a lot. However today on 09.04.2025 as I was in the Pasing area and my wife was craving Marathi food, I ordered Misal Pav for her and Sev Bhaji for me and Vada Pav as a starter as a take away. Once I reached home and put our baby to sleep, we opened the take away parcel and took one bite of Misal Pav. The taste was very weird and it smelled horribly. The food was completely spoilt. I can't believe that they even packed such food without checking. I called them immediately and confronted them and they offered to deliver replacement food instantly but I denied it as we live quite far in the North of Munich and it is not feasible for the delivery. The guy on the phone apologized and promised good service the next time we are there. I honestly think this will be the last time and we will never go to this place again. On the plus side, Sev Bhaji and Vada Pav were good. 1 Star for food 4 Star for service as the apologies followed but it doesn't fix the issue. It could have been a health hazard for us!!

Chicken 65 is really good here!

Absolutely disappointed. We ordered Dal Tadka and Butter Chicken, specifically requesting Indian-style preparation, yet what we got tasted more like dessert, overwhelmingly sweet and nothing like authentic Indian flavors. To make matters worse, it took two hours to receive our food. The lassi? Sour and watery. Easily the worst Indian food I’ve had in Munich. If you’re craving real Indian flavors, do yourself a favor and try other Swaad locations instead.

By far best Biryani in town! Great service and food!

I find it really difficult to understand the very positive other reviews. Of all the Indian restaurants I've eaten in so far in Munich, this one definitely had the worst value for money. The portions were rather small, the taste was not convincing, the furnishings seemed careless and it was very cold and uncomfortable, at least in winter. All in all I wouldn't come back.

This is the best Indian food I have tried in Munich so far. Every time I try something else I think "Swaad is better"! Never change please!

The Maharashtrian specials are really good. Vada pav, pav bhaji, Mattha are amazing. The service staff are very polite, friendly, and helpful. Always a good experience and they take feedback as well positively. Highly recommended!

One year ago when I used to Oder from Swad the food used to be Delicious, the exact Maharashtrain tase, but now a days the taste level has gone down , it’s not consistence at al , Everytime i oder manchow soup it’s taste different and not good at all , the daal tadka looks like it’s only daal without tadka. I don’t think I will Oder the food anymore from Swaad .

Feb. 2025: Since few orders, the food quality has degraded. The same dish tastes different everytime. Earlier the taste was consistent, but now it is not the case. Recent experience with Dal Tadka and Mutton Sukha was not at all great. Aug. 2023: Great Maharashtrian taste! The Mutton n Chicken curry were awesome!

One of the best Indian restaurant in Munich. Definitely recommend and price worthy. We tried chicken tikka masala, tandoori roti, vada pav, samosa and Manchurian. Mathaa is my personal favourite drink from Maharashtra and it tastes exactly same here. I’ll definitely visit again.

I want to complain about the receptionist’s rude behavior. I mentioned an issue with the food packaging, but he blamed the delivery person. When I asked for the owner’s contact, he told me to find it myself. Being rude can drive customers away. Please change your behavior, or you will lose more customers. I will not visit this restaurant again because of such unprofessional service.

I ordered butter chicken and unfortunately it was the worst butter chicken I've had in a long time (although I could barely eat any of it). In my opinion the chicken was undercooked. I didn't like the sauce at all - and was very far from the familiar taste of butter chicken sauce. I paid €20 for the dish and Garlic Naan (which wasn't good either) and it definitely wasn't worth it!

Ordered delivery from Uber Eats. The chicken in chicken sukka smells as if it was old, and some parts were undercooked. Please keep a quality check on delivered items, already encountered it twice so far.

Worst food delivery experience ever!! Never ever again from here. I ordered food, and it took over two hours to arrive. The owner gave false information, saying the delivery was "on its way," but it wasn’t even dispatched. My calls went unanswered, and I received no updates. To top it off, the food was average and delivery guy was arguing instead of admitting the mistake. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and service. I will not be ordering from here again.
