Very attentive service and delicious food. I think drinks are generally very expensive in Warnemünde. I'm not willing to pay more than €6.00 ​​for a 0.5-liter beer (€4.20 for a 0.3-liter beer). Perhaps I just haven't gotten used to these prices yet.

We had lunch at Stromgold with our 4-year-old child. The child's wishes were accommodated. The service was excellent and the food very good. The ambiance perfectly matches the restaurant's name. I will definitely eat there again on my next visit to Warnemünde.

A highly recommended fish restaurant. During our short break in Rostock, we ate twice at the "Stromgold" restaurant in Warnemünde. Here, the local "Stromgold" (a local fish) is transformed into culinary gold in the kitchen. The waiters were always friendly, attentive, and efficient – ​​just as I would want as a guest. We will definitely return on our next Warnemünde vacation.

We redeemed the voucher from last Christmas today. November is a good time for locals to eat out—few tourists and always a seat. Cozy atmosphere, comfortable seats, and the menu doubles as a placemat. The salmon burger for my husband was really good. I ordered "Penne Salmon." The description underneath said: Ribbon pasta with salmon... I was especially looking forward to the ribbon pasta. When I ordered, the waiter pointed out that there was a special offer on penne with salmon for €3 less. So, I initially thought it was a misunderstanding when that dish actually arrived (short, round, hollow pasta). However, when I paid, I was charged for the more expensive "Penne Ribbon Pasta with Salmon." When I asked for clarification, the cashier explained that ribbon pasta is also penne and wouldn't budge. From that point on, I just couldn't understand it anymore. To me, ribbon noodles are flat and long... Our friendly suggestion that the menu was incorrect in this respect was consistently denied.

Restaurant Stromgold welcomed us warmly and without a reservation – a big plus. Our table right by the door was a bit chilly, though, and the constant flow of customers made it rather noisy. The additional staff coming and going, in particular, created a somewhat unrelaxed atmosphere (the main server, however, was very attentive). The food was generally okay, if the portions were rather small. The fish soup, unfortunately, was quite bland. As is often the case, we felt the prices were no longer entirely justified. All in all, a pleasant visit with very friendly service, but there's still room for improvement in terms of ambiance and food quality.

This small, beautiful restaurant is located right in the heart of the pedestrian promenade along the "Zum Alten Strom" (At the Old Stream). With outdoor lighting, it's perfect for lingering, and heated in winter! Very friendly staff... The food is delicious, served quickly and piping hot at the table. Good portion sizes and beautifully presented! This restaurant was ranked number 1 in the 2018 TV show "Mein Lokal! Dein Lokal!" (My Restaurant! Your Restaurant!). And rightly so!!! Highly recommended!!!

My cod fillet could have used another 2 minutes of cooking, otherwise it was okay. The fish and chips weren't to our taste, neither the fries nor the marinade, nor the ketchup in the jar. The fried herring with cucumber salad was okay. Overall, it was too expensive for 2 adults and 1 toddler, over €80. Communication with the staff was difficult, as some didn't speak German. There are no children's portions. There are only three children's meals available. As proof, we've attached a photo of our meal and a receipt. Unfortunately, I can't share all of my experiences here. We won't be coming back.

The food (filled gnocchi with shrimp and penne with salmon pieces) was delicious. Everything tasted very well-balanced, and the portions were generous. What immediately struck us, however, was the consistently friendly demeanor of the young employee, who expertly managed the dining room and bar. Despite being constantly on the go (the dining room was full and the outdoor area very busy), he was always understanding and had a kind word for everyone. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! 🌸

As we were walking past we came across the white mulled wine for just €3 and it was so delicious that we had to get another one on the way back.

The hot drinks arrived with a huge delay and our latte was left at the outside bar for another 5 minutes then another one came. After another 5 minutes the waiter came and said I wanted a latte, then he said the pumpkin spice latte was sold out. I didn't take the normal one either because it had been sitting out in the air for 10 minutes.

What happened? Where has the good service gone? Making a reservation turned out to be a bit of a hassle. The waitress on the day of the reservation was a disaster. Unfortunately, the surprise was ruined by her; she didn't listen when we ordered. Our request for more sauce was ignored, the BBQ burger was missing BBQ sauce, and she couldn't remember anything when ordering and was inattentive. It's clearly stated outside that payment can be made with LOKA, but this didn't work either. I also think the high price for changing a side dish is really bad. We moved on; we didn't feel like staying any longer. Otherwise, my fish was tasty. Something about it.

The food is truly delicious; everyone at the table enjoyed it. The prices are on the higher end, certainly due to the current situation in Germany. The staff on Saturday were at times scattered and disorganized, so we had to carefully check the bill to see what was ordered and what actually arrived at our table. I highly recommend this restaurant for fish dishes.

Overpriced & overrated with tiny portions not recommended.

The cod fish was tasty, the portion size is about right. The service was not particularly welcoming but quite fast and polite. Can’t compare it with other Warnemünde restaurants as I have been there for a day trip, but felt the prices are higher than average.

We wanted to eat there today with our daughter. I have to say, she's still in her stroller. The patio area was pretty "empty" at the time, so we sat at the edge with the stroller where we "actually" wouldn't have disturbed anyone. Then a very "nice" waitress came over, and we politely asked her if it was okay the way we were sitting. To which she simply replied, "So far, it's actually our way of serving," in such an unfriendly and rude manner that I couldn't understand. We then decided to go somewhere else to eat.

Beware of customer deception! The restaurant sells "Fine de Claire" oysters under the fictitious name "Gilladeu France." The similarity in name to the French luxury oyster "Gillardeau" is a deliberate attempt to deceive customers. When I saw the menu, I thought, "Finally, a restaurant in Warnemünde that offers the world-famous Gillardeau oysters from France." The price matched the quality of the Gillardeau, which are often referred to as the Mercedes of oysters. When I ordered the supposed Gillardeau, I received regular Fine de Claire oysters, but for a price that could only be justified for genuine Gillardeau. The oyster shells also didn't have a "G" engraved on them, as is common with Gillardeau - see photos. When I complained, it turned out that the menu didn't offer Gillardeau oysters from France, but rather "Gilladeu France" - spelled like Gillardeau, but without the "r" and "a" in the name. Any similarity between the name and Gillardeau is certainly purely coincidental. The fact that the name "Gilladeu France" means you're ordering regular "Fine de Claire" oysters isn't made clear on the menu. The snobby chef will definitely enjoy these oysters, but I feel massively deceived. I still tipped the waitress because she acted professionally, and in my opinion, she isn't responsible for the customer deception. Gillardeau lovers should avoid this restaurant. Aside from that, the green sauce served with the oysters wasn't vinaigrette. I didn't try it, as I considered it a culinary inappropriate accompaniment, even for "Fine de Claire" oysters.

You have to be a little careful that the staff doesn't trick you into ordering more than you intended. They're good at sales, but be careful not to overdo it and/or become pushy. The beer tastes great. The food was really good! Some of the best things we've had on our vacation! Delicious!

From the service to the food to the ambiance, everything was perfect. Even special requests not listed on the menu were fulfilled. Third time here and not disappointed.

Top-notch fish with spinach, horrible lasagna. I would have happily given both the food and service 5 stars, were it not for the inedible lasagna. My fish with spinach and new potatoes from the lunch menu was delicious. My wife chose the lasagna. A leather platter was brought, hidden under lettuce and arugula. Uncuttable, inedible. After a complaint, the friendly waitress brought the same thing again. Crunchy and rock-hard. Why do they serve something inedible twice? Thank goodness we didn't have to pay for it. Then I went to the "Meerle" with my wife. There she had a delicious meal.

The salmon was overcooked. I haven't eaten fish that badly prepared in a long time. Highly recommended! The price-performance ratio is absolutely terrible... the vegetable side dish was frozen and not firm enough to bite.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The portion size is smaller than at a snack bar that costs twice or three times as much. The fish and side dishes are good but far too small. The fried potatoes were obviously pre-made, and my daughter's hamburger was cold, and the meat was so dry that it was falling apart. The servers outside are hectic and overwhelmed. I had to ask the waitress three times to pay.

We wanted to treat ourselves to something special this evening and were looking for a good fish restaurant near Rostock – and that's how we ended up at Stromgold, located right on the water. Even from the outside, the restaurant is truly impressive. We received an immediate, friendly welcome and were given expert recommendations for the perfect fish dishes. In the end, we opted for the fish platter for two people. The waiter was very wise to skip the starter, as the portions were more than sufficient – ​​absolutely the right thing to do. The quality of the fish platter was outstanding, fresh, and perfectly prepared. A truly wonderful experience, highly recommended! Many thanks again to the friendly staff.

Vegan-friendly is a lie. They served frozen, warmed-up vegetables with a bit of butter still on them. The children's pasta ordered without sauce had tomato sauce on it. Some of the side potatoes were completely burnt, others undercooked, some were okay. The fish was okay, but for a fish restaurant, blah. Food not recommended, drinks could be okay. Unfortunately, very disappointing.

We ate there with another couple the week before last, and unfortunately, the price-performance ratio was not right at all. Even though the terrace is nice, I can't recommend the restaurant. I ordered the pan-fried fish with seasonal vegetables (for €22) and unfortunately discovered that the vegetables weren't fresh but frozen, and they were so overcooked that the broccoli fell apart on my fork. The fried potatoes were also made from potatoes that are sold pre-cut and packaged. My friend's pasta was okay, so 2 stars for the food. Once and never again...

Beautiful location, friendly staff. That's about it. The food is abysmal and disgusting. My herring looked gray, totally soft, and oily, like it came from a pre-packaged Aldi dish. The Grandma-style remoulade came from a tube or jar, pure mayonnaise, disgusting. The fried herring had a slightly rancid flavor, so it was never fresh. There are much better restaurants. Never again.

The Stromgold restaurant has a very nice location and a pleasant ambiance. The dishes we ordered also tasted fine. However, we were a bit disappointed with the selection for vegan guests. The website and menu advertise vegan alternatives – but in the end, the only side dish we ended up with was a combination of cucumber salad and fried potatoes (without bacon). We would have appreciated significantly more selection and creativity here to keep the promise of "vegan alternatives." Overall, a solid visit, but with room for improvement – ​​especially if you're bringing a mixed diet in a group.

We wanted to treat ourselves to some really nice fish on our last day of vacation. The prices are steep! But we thought: quality has its price. The view of the river is great, and the server was friendly. However, the ordered vegetables were forgotten, the mixed vegetables were cold, and the fish was very greasy/oily. The individual bowls were smeared with food from the bottom because they were sitting on the plate/dish below. The cucumber salad tasted awful. We quickly left and had to go to the pharmacy. We've rarely eaten such a bad meal. What a shame. There was no question about why we left this or that. There was no soap in the restroom.

We went without a reservation in the evening. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was of good quality. I would happily return next time I'm in Warnemünde. Only partially suitable for people with limited mobility. Access to the dining room is via a few steps. Restrooms are in the basement.

If you like cheap Alaska pollock from the freezer, quickly cooked in a fryer, then go ahead. This place is all about making maximum profit from tourists. It's a real shame that there's no such thing as a standard. But you can do it with the visitors. The owners don't care; they count the money at the end of the day.

Simply top-notch! We tried the fish burger, and it was amazing. The freshest fish, the perfect bun, and the sauces were just right. The location is fantastic, right on the water, with a chilled atmosphere. The service was also fast and super friendly. Definitely the best fish sandwiches in Rostock; we'll definitely be back!

Simply awful...the plaice was unbearable in taste, so we sent it back...three waiters then came to our table one after the other and made a problem out of it. We didn't get our money back, as this fish was supposedly sold satisfactorily 50 times a day...still a letdown for us...the prawns and chips met their sad end in what was probably the worst beer batter I've ever eaten...a real shame.

We were at Stromgold last night, and it was fantastic. The cod was incredibly juicy and the fried potatoes were perfectly crispy. The server was really knowledgeable about the wines and was totally relaxed; we felt very comfortable there. The view directly onto the water is simply unbeatable, especially when the sun sets. Definitely worth recommending; we'll be back when we're in Rostock 👍

After eating frozen food from the deep fryer, we had some fun watching the episode "My Local, Your Local." We were rolling around laughing. How dare you mislead your customers like that?

This was our first time here, and it was beyond fantastic. The food is incredibly delicious and served so quickly. Unbelievable! But the best thing is the young waiter. I don't understand the positive reviews. The staff was disorganized, and polite is a different story... The food was expensive and just average. I wouldn't recommend it! We were a group of four and were simply disappointed.

The ambiance is unbeatable, given the location, which is why we stopped there for lunch. Service was very friendly, the food was mediocre. "Vegetables from Grandma's garden," frozen and so hard that we couldn't give it to our child. The fries, both in this and our meal, were far too salty and probably fried several times and not all that fresh. The fish was very well cooked, but had too many bones. It wasn't bad, but I think the prices are a bit high for the food itself; you're probably paying more for the location. The points definitely go mainly to the friendly ladies and gentlemen in the service department!

My husband and I spent five days on vacation in Warnemünde. We visited the "Stromgold" four times and were always very satisfied with the friendly and attentive staff, the good food, the other nice guests, and the wonderful surroundings. Unfortunately, our last evening was somewhat spoiled by a guest wearing a T-shirt with the words "AFD" and his personal information on it. We find such a "political display" inappropriate and a repulsive provocation to your many international staff and, above all, guests. This is not good advertising. At first, we considered spontaneously leaving the restaurant, but then decided to stay. We didn't want to leave the field for such provocative people. Perhaps you should be careful in the future to ensure that such people don't go to a restaurant like this. Political provocations have no place there.

We had reserved a table as a group at the restaurant and were seated immediately. Although the restaurant was very busy, the waiter found a few words and welcomed us warmly. The menus arrived promptly, and drinks were also served immediately. After the excellent meal, we were allowed to move outside, as some people wanted to smoke. Since there was a different checkout area, we were advised to pay separately. Here, too, the staff were thoughtful. This was not only very good food, it was also excellent entertainment. Always with a good joke on their lips and concerned about ensuring that everyone was satisfied. You rarely find this kind of thing in Germany, and so thank you very much for the wonderful evening.

The food was great! The service staff was always on the move and friendly! However, we were seated inside and quite close to the kitchen, where the boss seemed to be cooking himself and was giving his employees a hard time. It went on like this the whole time, and you thought the "roasting place" would soon become a crime scene. Unacceptable behavior, that's unacceptable when the guests can hear it all. You can't help but feel sorry for the employees.

I received a super friendly welcome. When I asked if I could have just one drink, they said, "Make yourself at home, and you'll have the best view of the river at that spot back there." And the Sarti Spritz was really delicious.

We ate here on July 26th. The drinks were excellent. The salmon fillet and the plaice "Finkenwerder style" were very good. The wolffish fillet was a bit dry. What was absolutely unacceptable, however, were the eight bones in the fillet. And then the waitress's cheeky response was that it just happens. That's completely unacceptable.

Edit: There's more than just burgers, but only two types of burgers. There's only a cheeseburger and a salmon burger, but the cheeseburger and fries are 👌; I didn't try the salmon burger.

The food arrives faster than the drinks, and it tastes just as good. The fried herring was poorly gutted and dry. The fish and chips had more breading. It tasted like frozen food from a deep fryer. At least you can still get something to eat just before 10 p.m., and the service is attentive.

A very disappointing restaurant visit: Lurried by the happy hour, we decided on the Stromgold restaurant today. Unfortunately, the cocktails were the first disappointment: too strong, just orange juice with vodka, and there was no cane sugar. After many requests, we were given regular sugar in sachets. Great. Unfortunately, there were some communication problems due to language barriers. The appetizer was also a disappointment. Even then, it was clear that they were using frozen goods. But things got particularly awful with the main course. I ordered the dish with gnocci and shrimp. I was then given a dish with tagliatelle. After I said I hadn't ordered that dish, I was cheekily served the same dish again – a few gnocci were simply thrown on top of the tagliatelle. Only after a lengthy discussion was the food sent back to the kitchen – five minutes later, the waitress came back with the same plate. Only after another friendly waiter intervened did I finally get the dish I wanted: ready-made gnocchi with frozen Kaiser vegetables, cold shrimp, and some tagliatelle pasta in between. All the other dishes were also disappointing – extremely greasy and exclusively frozen. Unfortunately, for that price, it's simply outrageous. A few shots on the house won't make up for it. There won't be another visit. With so many great restaurants in beautiful Warnemünde, Stromgold should definitely be avoided!

The quality of the food is truly delicious. Unfortunately, my portion of "Fried Norwegian Salmon" was very small. The guests at the neighboring table ordered the same dish. When I pointed out the difference to the server, they politely pointed out the different plate sizes. The picture clearly shows that it's not the plate sizes that are the problem. The top picture shows the portion from the neighboring table, and the bottom picture shows my portion size. The seasonal vegetables consisted of carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and tons of Brussels sprouts. So, it was very cabbage-heavy even in the height of summer.

I had fish and chips. The fish was great, but the chips were too soft. The service was attentive but too hectic, running and shoving around too much. I like to eat comfortably. That's why I only gave it three stars. The cocktail was great.

The fish restaurant tagline is first-class in terms of selection and quality. However, you'll also find other dishes here. A pleasant ambiance, friendly service, and a wide selection of drinks and cocktails, with happy hour starting at 8 p.m., are highly recommended.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with friends on July 5, 2025. Everyone loved the fish. The beer from Marlow was great. We'll be back in 5 years.

Yesterday I ate the worst fried fish in my life (56 years). Absolute cheek. I even asked the waiter if the fried fish was edible and hand-battered. Both were confirmed. I got pressed fish and frozen fish. When I asked, the waiter tried to justify it by saying there was a big difference between flash freezing and frozen fish. The fried potatoes were a joke and the fish was a disgrace. The fish mac at the big M is even better. Serving fish right next to a river that isn't worthy of its name. Please stay away from the restaurant.
