The visit was disappointing. Unfortunately, the food wasn't very tasty. It wasn't cooked properly, and the salad wasn't washed properly. Overall, it was extremely unpleasant, and there was a broken chair. The waiter's comment that the food was prepared by apprentices was unacceptable at this price point. The restroom was locked due to a PIN code, so we had to go back... The announcements were difficult to understand. Otherwise, a very nice location.

Unfortunately, our visit to Willkommen Höft today was anything but pleasant. We sat outside, but the first impression was disappointing: The table was crooked and wobbled with every movement, and everything around us seemed unkempt and dirty – no sign of a cozy atmosphere. The drinks selection also left a lot to be desired: There were only 0.4-liter glasses, which offered little choice. Particularly disappointing was that they didn't offer regular Coca-Cola – instead, they only offered Afri Cola Sugar-Free, which unfortunately had a very watery and unpleasant taste. Another drawback: The loudspeaker announcements, actually a highlight of the place, were barely audible – tinny and much too quiet. Overall, the visit was disappointing. We had hoped for more and certainly won't be coming back.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it offers total peace and quiet for those who appreciate it. A beautiful ambiance with a view of the Elbe River. Unfortunately, the food leaves much to be desired.

Beautiful view, but that's it... We were there with a group of friends last Sunday for Mothers Day. We booked a table on the terrace... on arrival, we were asked to wait for a table to become available. After around 20 minutes, we were shown to our table (which was empty the entire time we were waiting). After an hour of being at the restaurant, our drinks and food orders were taken... Drinks were very slow to arrive, with the beers filled well short of the 0,5 line on the glasses. When the food arrived, one order was missing, and we were told the order would have to be sent to the kitchen again. This order didn't arrive before the rest of the group had finished eating (after waiting to start their food for quite a few minutes because there was no cutlery brought to the table until we asked) so the missing order was cancelled. No second drink order was possible because no member of staff came to ask at any point. When we were waiting to pay the bill, someone brought menus and asked if we would like to order food...??? Chaos from beginning to end. It was that bad it would have been funny... if it wasn't so expensive. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The location is wonderful and the greeting or farewell to the passing ships is interesting and well implemented! We had reserved a table in the restaurant and, as requested, got a very nice one in the front row! The service was very friendly and correct. Unfortunately we didn't like the quality of the food! As a starter we had scallops which were unfortunately only lukewarm and actually tasteless. The fish for the main course made up for it a bit, but I thought it was a shame that it was served with “finished” potatoes that didn’t taste like anything. There was also a ready-made sauce for the salad that you can find in every supermarket; the ingredients for a vinaigrette should actually be standard equipment in a kitchen. I am aware that things have to happen quickly here at Fullhouse and that there are often not the necessary helping hands, but as a guest you just assume that the quality is worth paying for and then you are a little disappointed! On our next visit we'll probably just have a drink and maybe eat a portion of fries in the beer garden!

Unfortunately, the portions were very small, which was even more important because it was absolutely tasty. Grade 1 for delicious, but deductions in the B grade.

Mixed experience: Restaurant with a view of the Elbe but many weaknesses My visit to this restaurant on the Elbe left a mixed impression. The breathtaking view of the Elbe is definitely the highlight of this restaurant. The view alone deserves a positive mention. Unfortunately, the restaurant's furnishings couldn't keep up with the beautiful location. The plastic tables without tablecloths and the cheap wicker chairs gave a rather inferior impression. It was difficult to judge whether the restaurant intended to offer fine dining or more tourist fare - the decor certainly suggests the latter, which contrasts with the pricing. The service clearly left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed unfocused and not very committed. What was particularly disappointing was that I had to open and pour the bottle of wine I ordered myself - a no-go for a restaurant in this price range. The good quality of the food should be highlighted positively. The preparation was successful and the dishes tasted really good. This was one of the few bright spots during my visit. Overall the price-performance ratio was not appropriate. Despite the high bill, there were additional costs: the parking space cost an additional €1 per hour, which is significant if you are staying for a longer period of time. I also found the fact that the toilet was only accessible with a door code to be inconvenient. Conclusion Anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful view of the Elbe and is willing to pay for mediocre service and basic furnishings might still consider the restaurant. For guests who value a harmonious overall concept and appropriate service, there are certainly better alternatives in the area. Tip: If you visit the restaurant at all, visit it during the day to make the most of the beautiful view.

Actually a nice place... There was a party going on in the next room that was getting louder and louder. To the point of unbearability! Unfortunately, due to this noise pollution, we were unable to find out anything about the ships that were being welcomed and farewelled. The staff didn't seem to care. After the first order, we were no longer asked if we wanted anything. Too bad!

We didn't eat at the ferry house - just went to the toilet because the public one, which was signposted several times, couldn't be found. Welcome, including the national anthem, is played on large ships. The playground across the street is ok and our children liked it...but it's not part of the restaurant.

Unfortunately, they probably don't need to make the effort. The atmosphere has something of a rustic garden club. The beer garden apparently closes at 8 p.m., but the people sitting there waiting to be served are not informed about this. The restaurant terrace doesn't feel cozy but rather like a gazebo with plastic walls through which you can see the Elbe in a blur. All in all, I was disappointed but also didn't enjoy the food due to the lack of qualified service.

It used to be a great restaurant with great service and very good food, the prices were fair for the high quality and great service. Unfortunately, this service is now poor. You wait forever for the staff, the food comes relatively quickly, the service staff changes extremely frequently, you are forgotten, not understood, you go on your break after being handed the card for dessert and don't tell anyone to take it, so no one has eaten anymore, wrong drinks, the toilets are extremely dirty, the taps are full of limescale, 2 out of 3 are broken, the hand dryers are completely filthy. and soap drip residue piles up on the faucet. There were ants crawling on the table, which still had old stains despite a quick wipe down before we sat down. Salt and pepper shakers dirty on top. The food is usually very exclusive, but today we had burrata with a jar of cheap olives spread over it. It's really sad, it's actually not a cheap shop, but the shine has extremely diminished.

Overpriced, unfriendly and dirty

Unfortunately, the organization is a complete disaster. Table for 10 people for breakfast had to be paid for in advance, theoretically no problem. If you then received a payment confirmation and the restaurant would also make a note of the receipt of payment. Instead, there was a call a few days beforehand asking whether the reservation was still standing and you were again informed about the payment. This was done a long time ago and if you pay in advance, the reservation is safe. After breakfast we asked if there was anything else that needed to be paid, but the employee said no. A few days later I got a call saying that the bill and a coffee drink still needed to be paid. After it was said that payment had already been made in advance as requested, we checked again and the wrong receipt had been assigned to our table. But a coffee drink is still open. Instead of being accommodating and foregoing the money for the latte because we were told on site that there was nothing more to pay, this money still had to be transferred. There were 3 or 4 tables occupied, so it wasn't a full house, but everyone seemed to be completely overwhelmed. For breakfast itself you can say that it was ok, nothing special. However, you should think carefully about a cake stand for 4 people, because of course not everything is available for everyone. Advertising a halved cocktail tomato and 2 mini mozzarella balls as “tomato mozzarella with basil pesto in a mason jar” (wherever the mason jar was) is also a joke. Norwegian smoked salmon was 3 small pieces, plus a bowl full of horseradish. Yes, everything was tasty and you could eat your fill of the egg dishes and rolls with jam, but you don't have to go there for that. In any case, we won't be coming back.

I have known the Fährhaus for over 40 years. Always beautiful. 1 of 2 speakers worked again - but there are supposed to be completely new speakers. The food was delicious - but it also had its price. Very polite, courteous service. Discounted parking space for guests. The explanations/explanations about the respective ships were detailed and interesting! Can also be reached by S-Bahn. Beer garden. Seating options on the Elbe.

Great for a long breakfast or brunch. The "normal" breakfast at the weekend was great, both the things that were already served at the table and the small but very nice buffet with fresh dishes made "on demand" (not just scrambled eggs but also poached eggs with bacon on toast - super tasty). The Easter brunch topped it all off again with a very tasty warm meal (zander, lamb boiled beef, roast veal, etc.). But that was almost "too much" - you could eat everything. Despite the high demand, the service was very well organized and super nice. The view of the Elbe is great. The building itself is a bit old, including the interior. All in all, I can highly recommend the location, especially on weekends, for a great breakfast - one of the best in Hamburg and the surrounding area.

The terrace of the Schulauer Fährhaus was one of my favorite places to this day. When the weather is nice, the view of the Elbe is wonderful. Today we went there at coffee time. Since it was relatively early, the terrace was perhaps half full, but we immediately found a free table. Unfortunately there was no coffee and cake. We waited for about 25 minutes without any service staff paying any attention to us. During that time, something was brought to our next table twice without us even being greeted, let alone asked what we wanted. After 25 minutes we decided to leave. Unfortunately, apart from the 5 euro parking fee, we didn't get anything from the visit.

We were at the Welcome Farm today (Easter Sunday). We left again after 25 minutes, after which we were not noticed at all. The neighboring table was served twice during that time. A good 40% of the tables were occupied and at least 5 waiters and waiters were around. An absolute disgrace.

The visit to the New Schulauer Fährhaus was a good experience with room for improvement. The higher price level is due on the one hand to the good quality of the food and certainly also to the view. The service that evening was really okay, even if there was a double order of an espresso at the end - something like that can happen. Especially since the volume was sometimes higher than was good for the room. A nice note at the end about how to handle the parking ticket would have been helpful, and not just for our table - so be it. However, what definitely doesn't fit the standards of the house is the quality and cleanliness of the sanitary facilities. Even Mr. Rach, as a restaurant tester, has often made it clear in the past - "You can tell a good restaurant by its toilets." The PIN code on the door probably doesn't help here either. Nevertheless, thank you for a pleasant evening and hope you can handle the criticism work and continue to improve. Christian Sz.

The associated fish stall, an absolute no-go! Two Asian employees with poor knowledge of German. A sign: "Card payment possible here" but the card payment doesn't work, which was only communicated after the order was placed. People with €20 notes are not even served because there is no change. There is no communication, the guest is simply left standing there without a word. When asked if you weren't being served: "You don't have it any smaller." No decent restaurant should keep such employees. It didn't look clean there either. Both employees were overwhelmed by the guests and apparently unable to speak to them. Explaining ice cream flavors became a hurdle. The ice cream tasted unusual, €2 for a small scoop was very exorbitant. We definitely won't go there a second time! We have never experienced anything so unfriendly. Simply impossible!

The welcome point is an experience when the big boats pass by and music and greenery sounds. Not directly, but in the surrounding area, for example, a nice ice cream café.

The inconspicuous food truck is also part of the Schulauer Fährhaus forecourt. Totally friendly, with nice seating and great fish sandwiches. Guys, try the herring now! That was great!!

The Schulauer Fährhaus scores points for its location alone. What you can do well here is have a drink or eat a piece of cake. I can only advise against the other dishes. Prices are completely exorbitant and the quality is very poor. Fried potatoes were rather lukewarm, apart from that they were just ready-made potatoes without salt, onions or bacon. The panfish is rather dry and also lukewarm and has nothing to do with the classic panfish. This has nothing to do with a typical Nordic dish. The parking lot must be paid for by customers themselves! Complaints are accepted, but no one seems to care. There is no noticeable improvement! The NEW Schulau ferry house apparently only wants to exclude the tourists.

Many glasses sit around for a long time and the table itself has to be cleared of the dishes from the previous person. Long wait until service is at the table.

A MUST for anyone interested in shipping. Each ship is welcomed with its national anthem and a real captain gives information about the ship, its size, cargo, origin. You can eat very comfortably and deliciously. In summer there is a large terrace.

A real highlight in Wedel! The staff was courteous and well organized, even at busy times. The kitchen offers a great selection, we had skrei and a duck breast - both were excellent. Plus the Elbe right in front of the door, simply beautiful! And rounded off the day with a delicious piece of cake!

We went for brunch on Sunday and it was really nice! There was a good selection of different foods that were fresh and tasty. We particularly liked the freshly squeezed juice. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was super friendly and made sure that nothing was missing. We can only recommend it and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Great view and very impressive with the ship welcome system. We were there on Sunday, ships rarely come there and you can have a good time. The information about the ships is interesting and very comprehensive. Unfortunately we ordered the Frisian cake because it was the only vegan cake. Instead of cream, it was filled with artificial cream, like a cheap bee sting. The puff pastry was not baked and therefore not crispy. The cake weighed heavily on my stomach. I hope the other cakes are better.

Good morning, always a little vacation in the ferry house. Delicious food. Delicious tarts and cakes. Friendly and courteous restaurant staff. I have no right to complain about the prices. The food is freshly prepared >> you can see through the open show kitchen. Which means that everything is still too cheap. I pay more in restaurants of equal quality. Let alone in other European countries. Anyone who complains about the prices actually doesn't understand how poorly services are paid in Germany. The drinks prices are at the Hamburger-Wedeler level. The service is impressive, of course. Honest. Funny. It's unbelievable, but they treat me the way I treat them. Overall, the Fährhaus won't lose me as a guest. As well as my family, my friends and my business partners.

Unfortunately, I can't give a very good rating here: the Schulauer Fährhaus is actually an institution, no question about it. And you should definitely treat yourself to the experience of sitting here and watching the big pots and being introduced to them. I sat on the outside terrace in the best weather, but of course the ambience here is not the same as inside. I would definitely have given it one more star. The service was okay, but nothing more. He seemed a bit uninterested, but that could also have been due to the temperatures. The oysters were really world class and the price was also completely reasonable. I can recommend them without reservation. The fish soup we ordered for €13.90 promised a generous addition of fish and vegetables. Unfortunately I was very disappointed here. There were three small pieces of fish in the cup-sized soup. That's simply far too little for this price, especially since it's advertised specifically in the menu. The taste, however, was really good. Unfortunately, my overall result for the Schulauer Fährhaus on this day was not more than three stars, sorry.

We spent a really great evening in the new Schulauer Fährhaus and can only warmly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant at the same time - perfect for a special evening for two. We chose the menu which started with a delicious monkfish appetizer. The fish was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned – a real treat. For the main course we had the pepper coated cod, which was simply excellently prepared. The pepper coat harmonized perfectly with the tender fish and gave the dish a pleasant spiciness. The wine recommendation is particularly positive. The wine not only went perfectly with the dishes, but was also an interesting and tasty selection that enriched the evening even more. The service was attentive and very friendly, which contributed to an overall successful experience. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back. An absolutely recommended place for connoisseurs!

We went to the Schulauer Fährhaus for coffee in the afternoon. We always enjoy going there. There is a star deduction because it does not offer a vegan alternative to milk. There are explicitly designated vegan products for breakfast, there are vegan dishes, but the coffee specialties can only be prepared with milk. Nowadays, more or less every café has oat milk or soy milk, so there should be at least that in a restaurant like this.

The last visit was as part of a company party. The food was very good, the portion sizes were more than sufficient and the service was very attentive and courteous. Overall, a successful evening and has great potential to be repeated.

We found a seat straight away because other guests were just getting up! The waiter greeted us, after 15 minutes the same waiter came over and said: “Oh, those aren’t your cups anymore”! Luckily we had already looked online at what we wanted to drink and ordered (wheat: 6.80 0.5l, juice spritzer 5.40 0.4l), otherwise he would have had to get a menu! After 20 minutes the drinks came! Unfortunately, the neighboring table asked for the menu, it took even longer, and then only one person's order came, the partner came away completely empty-handed! In total, we were served by three waiters from ordering to paying! If we had just left, no one would have noticed! This is complete chaos! I've never seen so many unnecessary trips from the staff: never leave the dining room empty and bring the menu and the card machine with you! The information from the ships passing by was great, but that was it!

We were just passing through here and wanted to take a look around the Willkomm-Höft and just stop by the New Schulau Fährhaus. The cakes and tarts we ordered were of very high quality and the sea buckthorn punch we ordered later was also very tasty. It was during the week and therefore very empty, so staffing levels were thin. But everyone who was there put a lot of effort into the customer and it was a pleasant stay. For all guests, don't forget to have the parking ticket punched by the service, otherwise it could be expensive.

Unique experience near Hamburg thanks to the unique ship welcome system with live commentary and good explanations for each ship as well as the appropriate national anthems, which are played individually with each incoming ship. High-quality food as well as homemade cakes, tarts and chocolates. Also great in summer in the semi-open winter garden with a direct view of the Elbe. You can almost feel the Elbe when you eat. Also bookable as an event location. Large parking lot at fair conditions.

Fantastic and the view is amazing. There are covered benches down by the water and you can watch and hear the ships being greeted and farewelled with the respective national anthem. Unique and very very beautiful.

We were here because we were curious about the ship greetings/farewells. Unfortunately these end at 4:30 p.m., so we didn't notice any more then. The prices are very high for what you get. Main courses hardly cost less than €20… I had the vegan Frisian cake, which unfortunately only consisted of cream. My husband had the nut cake which was ok. I would describe the atmosphere as rather old-fashioned. However, the view of the Elbe was very nice and the service was very attentive and helpful. You can sit outside well even in winter, thanks to the radiant heater. There are some vegan options on the menu, including dessert. A nice location that you could do something with!
