There were 12 of us there. The reservation worked, and we didn't have to wait. The food was okay to good. The service was also good, but the ambiance wasn't our cup of tea. The view we were hoping for was okay, but that shouldn't influence the rating. Everything was okay so far, but just not great.

Lovely fish restaurant. The menu is limited, but the food is really good. That just makes choosing easier. ;) The waiter (we suspect he was even the owner) was very entertaining and very accommodating. We felt completely at home.

Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour for our table. The food then took almost another hour and, at least for us, wasn't particularly tasty. The taste wasn't good, and some of the fish was very dry. The complimentary dessert didn't really help. The ambiance and view right on the harbor, however, were very idyllic.

We had reserved a table for four at 7 p.m. and waited outside with several other people until 7:25 p.m. The waiter only briefly remarked, "10 more minutes." Since it was clear we would have been standing in the cold for at least another 20 minutes, we left. That's no way to treat guests!

The food is worth every cent, but the drinks are a bit pricey in my opinion, and unfortunately, they don't have any Störtebeker beer. The name would have made it so appealing. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. It's easy to have a good conversation. I'd love to come back soon.

The view itself was OK. Unfortunately, nothing more. What is absolutely unacceptable is cold food. One fish fillet, out of three, was still quite warm, the rest lukewarm, and the fried potatoes were cold. My wife's meal was all just lukewarm to cold. The waiters and waitresses were, for whatever reason, completely overwhelmed that evening. Since they weren't there, we accepted the meal and ate it as it was. No one else came even within shouting distance. We couldn't order any more drinks. When clearing the table, no one asked if everything was okay, so we brought it up ourselves. The waiter's reaction as he walked away was: "Yes, yes, I'll pass it on to the kitchen." We even had to call him back so we could get something to drink. The bottom line is, we reserved a table weeks in advance for a weekend trip to Hamburg because it was supposed to be such a good restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't confirm it for that evening. For the price, it's out of the question. Sadly, once and never again.

We had the pan-fried fish, which was nothing special, more like frozen food. We hadn't been sitting at the table for 10 minutes when the food arrived. The restaurant isn't particularly inviting. Some of the seats were torn. The service was okay, but the prices were a bit excessive for everything. We won't be back.

The restaurant is not what i would call pretty, has outdated kitch decor. The menu has no english, but the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was ok, pretty bland. Nothing extraordinary. We were there two years ago and wanted to enjoy the food again. Unfortunately, the quality has suffered considerably. At these prices, it's unacceptable that you get frozen vegetables with the fish and the potatoes are lukewarm. The fish was completely tasteless. Unfortunately... What a shame.

We had delicious redfish, accompanied by the beautiful waters of the Alster and a view of the harbor. Fantastic! The server was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

It's probably a tourist trap. The dishes are uninspired. It's edible, but nothing special. The ambiance is nonexistent. Everything is very old-fashioned and worn. Service is mediocre. We were very disappointed.

When we are in Hamburg, a visit to the Störtebeker fish restaurant is a must.

The menu is appealing. The food is not. I ordered pan-fried fish and was served fried ling. Hmm? A note on the menu would have been helpful. The fried potatoes and mustard sauce were simply awful. Unfortunately, I can't recommend them at all.

After a casual, humorous welcome, we quickly served drinks and food. The service was always attentive, although the street noise was a bit loud when sitting outside. We found our food (2 fish dishes, one Labskaus) delicious.

Well, I don't really understand the 4.7 rating, as I could make more flavorful food at home, without claiming to be a good cook. For us, the food was pretty average. The fish soup wasn't particularly hot, and the panfish wasn't exactly a flavor explosion. What's nice is the view of the harbor. The ambiance is pleasant. If that's more important to you than the food, this is the place for you.

Personally, my shrimp pasta was not to my taste because of the tomato sauce that canceled out the shrimp taste. I recommended to the chef to replace the tomato sauce with white wine sauce. The star of the dish should be the seafood, not the tomato or cheese sauce. Very good fish soup, but the quantity was way below expectations for the price.

We ate there on a recommendation. All four of us were disappointed with the food. It was very poorly presented. Two pieces of my salmon skewer had a very strange, rancid taste. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The food was good, but too expensive. My starter (shrimp) was perfect. But then came the main course: the fish was only lukewarm, and there were only 10 slices of fried potatoes, four of which were burnt. €40 is simply too much for that.

If you like butter, order the plaice in butter with boiled potatoes! Very, very tasty. ☺️

Friendly staff. Very good starter, poor fish dish. Dried-out fish and burnt fried potatoes. The question of whether the salad could be swapped for vegetables was answered in the negative. Mustard sauce tasted and looked like pre-made sauce. The table was cleared as soon as the plate was empty, with the mouth still full. Overall, not recommended. Significantly higher prices for the quality.

The fish soup was delicious, with good fish broth and plenty of fish as garnish. The Hamburg pan-fried fish was breaded and delicious. The fried potatoes were well-cooked. The mustard sauce was well-seasoned. The dressing for the side salad was a bit too vinegary for my liking.

Everything was top-notch: delicious fish, very attentive waiters, and a great location by the piers. Everything was perfect.

Traditional fish restaurant in Hamburg. The service didn't quite understand us at the beginning, but then everything was satisfactory. A little more fried potatoes would have been great but otherwise everything was great with a good view of the port of Hamburg from the terrace.

If you like fish, this is the place for you. The ambience is great. The restaurant has two floors. The upper one with a terrace and a view of the harbor and a view of the Elbphilharmonie. But it is a little further away. The temporary road hardly bothers you at all. With a bit of luck, the really big Risen will also come along. Even if there are plenty of tables, you should reserve one in advance. The service is very good and the employees are also very friendly. The food was okay so far. My wife had the fish platter and not everyone was to her liking. Others are very good. I had the panfish myself. Unfortunately it wasn't quite my taste but I just wanted to try something different. Which doesn't mean it tastes bad. Tastes are just different. We both really enjoyed the Vorspuppe. What confused me was that there was Störtebeker advertising everywhere and it was only good for Becks. Which isn't my favorite beer. But that’s complaining at a high level 😉. Nevertheless, we really liked it here. 🙂

We had dinner here today with 4 people, there was really little on the plate, we got a fish sandwich after dinner because we couldn't get there, there were about 8 fried potatoes on the plate and they were also completely dry, salad with basically no dressing. Paid a lot of money for a bit of food which really wasn't great.

First the positive: The service was friendly and attentive – and the food came to the table surprisingly quickly. What was rather disadvantageous about the fish soup was that it tasted like bland vegetable broth with pieces of fish floating in it - in any case they didn't add any flavor. The panfish turned out to be fried fish - three identical types of fish, fried to death in clearly palatable fat. Plus a flour and mustard sauce that was more reminiscent of a canteen than a fish restaurant. When I responded, the service employee said in all seriousness: “We can’t ‘fry’ fish.” – That sounds like the best conditions for a fish restaurant 😏 So if you want to prepare fish in the style and speed of a chip shop, this is the place for you.

This was our second time in this wonderful restaurant and we were thrilled again. The price-performance ratio is excellent, the food is fresh and delicious - the fish in particular is highly recommended. The atmosphere is very inviting and the service was, like the first time, simply great. We can only recommend this restaurant from the bottom of our hearts!!!

The food was good, but the waiter was very talkative. The guests were constantly chatting during the meal. Naples here, Italy there... They remained polite but were visibly annoyed. As a waiter, you should also consider whether the guests want to know your political views (kanake, etc.).

Is a little inconspicuously located away from the entrance via a large pedestrian staircase that connects two streets, you don't expect something like that there. I think the large crowd speaks for the quality. People stood in line and waited for seats. I ate there with a bus group. I was the driver. All guests and I were very satisfied with the quality of the food

Unfortunately I can't give "zero" stars. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the place itself or the food, but: I had reserved as a precaution and added to the reservation the clear message that we were with a medium-sized, shy dog, asked for a secluded quiet spot and confirmation. Later, the system asked me for confirmation... via SMS. We arrived at the restaurant unsuspecting and with anticipation. We were greeted at the door shaking our heads with the words “...not with a dog...” and were forced out again. Why is it possible to leave special requests when making a reservation if they aren't read anyway, which the employee immediately replied by apologizing. Just super disappointing. It didn't look nice or comfortable either. So, for me a straight “six”, not interesting for me.

We were there on a Friday evening and the restaurant was almost empty! The service was very quick and very friendly! The food was average for us, we've eaten better! The plaice was actually very tasteless and the fried potatoes were a bit burnt! I think the lighting in the restaurant is very special, it has a bit of a nightclub feeling! But that’s what you’re in Hamburg for 😉!

Food was great, the atmosphere in the dining room was rather sober. Unfortunately it was too loud for us because there was a larger group at the next table (the landlord can't do anything about it)

Good seafood restaurant with a good menu. I had the shrimp pan and plaice Büsumer style. The fat with the garlic in the shrimp pan was still bubbling when it arrived. Looked cool and smelled great too. The downside was that the prawns were very cooked after a certain amount of time. But it was still my favorite. The plaice was tasty, only the crabs could be more. You could then add 2€ to it so that the price fits. I would just work on the look of the plates and food. I would use larger plates and serve the food better. You can quickly gain a few more points without having to do much more work. It would also have been good if Störtebeker beer had also been offered. Was disappointed that it was only Becks. The service was always very quick and attentive.

Very tasty food, nice staff and nice view of the harbor. 280m from Schmidts Theater on the Reeperbahn. Ideal for eating before an event.
