Störtebeker Fish Restaurant in Hamburg

The service was extremely friendly and the view was sensational. The hamburger panfish wasn't crispy enough for me and the fish was soft and unstructured. My wife's herring was fresh and a little salty. This nuance wouldn't have bothered me. We'll come back and try other dishes.

Great fish restaurant. The food was excellent. The service left nothing to be desired. We'll come back here on our next trip to Hamburg.

Full 5 stars, a perfect evening with a very pleasant, attentive, friendly waiter. The food is very good and of top quality. And the food was served hot. My wife's portion size (pasta with salmon) was good, but the pan fish included a good portion of fried potatoes. I counted the pieces, there were 47 pieces large and small 😉 I don't think one more potato should matter! See you again soon

The two of us were there on New Year's Eve. Very nice service. We ate very well and tasty. There was fish soup and bread with salmon and the main course was the Störtebecker Mixteller and octopus.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good, we expected much more. The side dish "boiled potatoes" were fried and salty potatoes that don't go well with fish. The vegetables were hard and almost cold. The quantities were also very sparse for the high price (1 potato, 2 slices of carrots, 1 broccoli floret, 1 cauliflower floret as side dishes). Some of the fish was too salty and lukewarm (with the Störtebeker Mix). Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right at all. We won't be coming back. Plus point: nice waiter

Very attentive and nice staff, delicious food at reasonable prices: clear recommendation!

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. It arrived at the table only lukewarm and was not lovingly prepared. For the price I imagined something much better and tastier. The tables are far too narrow. It's like mass processing. It's a shame and a waste of money.

We came without a reservation and found a place immediately. We were served very quickly and nothing was left to be desired. We ordered pan fish, which was really tasty, only the side dish (fried potatoes) could have been a little more. But all in all 5 stars.

I had booked about a week in advance. A half hour delay wasn't a problem. The restaurant has a nice ambience with lots of window seats on 2 floors. The staff were unanimously super friendly. The meals were very tasty. I deducted a star because I would have liked a little more variety. All in all, we really liked it and we will definitely come back here soon. Best regards.

Nice fish restaurant. The fish was super tasty. I had a mix plate that was really worth it. So I was able to try everything out. The service was also super friendly. The ambience was ok, it looked very clinical and bright. The plates looked a bit like they came from the canteen.

The food is very good and tasty. The service was really fun and very attentive. Ambience was bright and friendly. The only problem was that a different picture emerged from the outside. The entrance was in the middle of the landing. From here you have a beautiful view over the harbor. We would be happy to come by again.

Honestly I can't understand the hype about this restaurant. The drink was so cold that my tablemate put it on the heater. The food was lukewarm at best. The panfish was breaded with something indefinable and tasted of nothing. He was sloppy and looked warmed up. The food also came very quickly. Too fast to be really fresh. I don't even want to talk about the lukewarm fish soup. Someone next to me said loudly that the food was only lukewarm, and the innkeeper, who was not even a meter away, didn't react at all. Definitely not recommended. I've never eaten so badly. OK. The side salad was good. Sorry for the blue cast in the picture

My recommendation this time, the Störtebeker fish restaurant in Hamburg. Good food, nice staff, fast service. The entire bus group was served within a very short time. We ordered queer beet and everyone was very satisfied. We'll be back.

There's not much to say about the ambience. You have a great view right at the harbor. The restaurant is nicely decorated. What I liked best was the service, everyone was incredibly nice, even when it got busy. The food is super delicious. We enjoyed a few drinks afterwards. My highlight was the crab soup with crabs. Absolute recommendation!

Störtebeker... my expectations were higher than what was offered. We had panfish that lay on top of the mustard sauce so that the breading was soft. The fried potatoes served were too soft and sometimes very salty. A small salad with "counted" cucumbers and tomato slices was served with 2-3 small pieces of pepper and red cabbage on top. The salad was very sour. The waitresses were attentive and nice, but seemed fake. The furnishings are simple and lack coziness. The prices of the food are a bit too high for what is on offer.

It used to be better, but worn out by many tourists. The view of the Elbe harbor was great.

This restaurant is a must for everyone! Especially for all tourists. The starter soups are to die for and the fish is simply delicious! I have never eaten such good fish in my life. I fell in love with the fried potatoes that were served as a side dish and I actually hate potatoes. The view is just beautiful too! We are definitely looking forward to the next time!

We were at Störtebecker on September 27th, 2024 with a group of 11 people! The menu really offers something for everyone and the prices are absolutely reasonable! The service was above average friendly and tried to fulfill all special requests! Even with our group size, the food was served to everyone almost at the same time! The atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant! If you are looking for a good fish restaurant, you are in good hands here!! Absolute recommendation!!

We were in the restaurant with a larger group. The restaurant is spread over two floors and offers plenty of space. The ambience is not bad, only the light (see the photos) in the lower area took a bit of getting used to. The service was friendly, the waiter was attentive and helpful. There was fish soup as a starter. Overall tasty, but not the wide variety of fish in the soup that I had at sea. The portion was okay for an appetizer. The main course was pollock with fried potatoes. It definitely tasted good and the portion was sufficient. Changing the order to fried potatoes from the baked potato worked perfectly. In terms of price, it's also okay for what's on offer. Overall, a good experience that you can definitely do. Hence the justified 4/5 stars.

We spent a wonderful evening in a traditional restaurant where the service was really good And the food too. The price-performance ratio was right, although the performance was better than the price suggested. I have rarely experienced such a relaxed, friendly and professional type of service anywhere. The next time I'm in Hamburg I know where I'm going to eat. Dishes that you don't know are explained to you and the focus is really on the guest the whole evening. It was just great. There is a large selection of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes

We ate there during our Hamburg trip. At lunchtime there wasn't too much going on and it was pleasantly quiet. The food was super delicious! The Dorrade in particular was very good. Service and ambience also top. The two waiters were very friendly and accommodating. The location is almost directly on the Elbe. There is still a busy road in between, but that didn't bother us. Can only be recommended.

After arriving today, we got a place on the terrace with a great view of the harbor. The service staff is super friendly and has the wonderful Hamburg charm. The food was plentiful, had panfish and pollack, and tasted really great. Conclusion, not the cheapest restaurant, but definitely worth the money.

Last year the restaurant was recommended on the night watchman tour. Unfortunately we weren't there anymore, but we were there twice this year. What more could you want, delicious Food that is really recommended.

If you have trouble choosing, just like me, choose a fish and shrimp combo. You can eat 3 kinds of fish and 2 shrimps. The business in the store is so good. I feel that the outside staff are always busy, but they also serve the meals in an orderly manner. I will definitely visit again next time I come to Hamburg!

Beautifully located restaurant right next to the harbor and Hamburg's old town (Repperbahn). The staff is very nice and attentive, we immediately got a nice table with 4 people without a reservation. We ate "Hamburger Pannisch" here, which was very tasty.

Large fish restaurant in close proximity to the jetties. The staff is friendly, the food was tasty, but maybe a bit low for the price.

Delicious. Great service. Even the children were excited. However, you could do more with the terrace. The atmosphere on the terrace is a bit bland and not very inviting. But the nice and very considerate waiters definitely make up for it.

Very tasty fish dishes. Fast and super friendly service. On Saturday evening we got a table on the terrace even without a reservation. Really nice location with a view of the harbor. We have always walked up and down the Davidstaircase for many years, but never turned off to the restaurant. It's a shame, we missed a lot. We will definitely come back next time we visit Hamburg.

You quickly notice that Störtebeker is a restaurant where mostly tourists eat. However, that is no reason not to visit it. The food was simple but fresh, good and tasty. The service was very friendly and quick. You can recommend the Störtebeker without a guilty conscience.

A restaurant with a view of the port where you can eat curry wurst, Hamburg breaded fish with French fries... For dessert, it is possible to order ice cream with cherries or chocolate. The dishes are plentiful but the cuisine is a little fatty and sweet.
