Hamburg cuisine in good weather with a view of the Elbe River. Yesterday, November 15, 2025, we ate inside for the first time. It was really great. We usually eat on the terrace.

We had apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, so it's hard to say whether the restaurant has good or bad food. The apple strudel was definitely frozen solid. The service was practically nonexistent… Yes, someone did come, but you can't really judge it as service. The ambiance, however, is fantastic. Totally rustic and simply beautiful!

There were two of us, and we were looking for something quaint with a harbor atmosphere. Our expectations were more than exceeded. Cool ambiance, interesting guests, and a fantastic team that makes even newcomers feel like regulars. The food is delicious and perfectly suited to the location. And one beer quickly turns into many, and you find yourself wandering from your table to the bar ;-)

And always a hand's breadth of keel below the waterline.

We had cappuccino under the pleasant breeze from the old Elbe shops. Lovely.

Great place to stop after a cruise along the Elbe. Easy to get out by ferry from the landing stage. The fish was very good, and the menu has something for everyone.

We were there in brilliant sunshine, and it was simply beautiful. The view was fantastic, overlooking the Elbe River, the Airbus and the Beluga aircraft landing, and the large ships heading for the North Sea. The food was excellent. I'd be happy to go back anytime.

The service was very attentive, friendly, and quick. The farmer's breakfast was very tasty, although I would have liked a bit more salad and an extra cucumber. The ambiance is rustic and authentic.

The plan was: a cycling break with a view of the harbor and a Holsten & fish sandwich. No big crowd: the message from the service: fish sandwiches only for takeout? No higher purpose was discernible: plum cake was served at the next table. The message: hospitality: not with us. It was understood: not again.

We had fried fish with potato salad inside for lunch. The fish was juicy, and everything was freshly prepared. The decor is exactly what you'd imagine a traditional seafaring tavern to be. We'd be happy to come back.

A very quaint ship restaurant. Whenever we're visiting Hamburg, we like to pay a visit to the Dübelsbrücker Kajut. Reservations by phone are recommended, as the location is in high demand. Very friendly, informal service and delicious food. We'd happily return.

Unfortunately, yesterday's meal was a complete disaster: we had pan-fried fish and plaice. The pan-fried fish was served in small pieces, about 3 x 3 cm, with lots of bones. The plaice fillet pieces consisted of the tail sections, with a third of the side bones still attached. The other two fish varieties advertised were visually difficult to distinguish and tasted below average. The presentation was adventurous: the pan (about 20 cm) had a wooden handle that had already been charred several times and visually gave me a poorly maintained impression. The plaice was quite thin, had been in the pan for too long, and the flesh was more yellowish than white. The fried potatoes had probably been sitting in the kitchen for a while: lukewarm and mostly shriveled. The side salads seemed unloved and not very fresh, and were also very meager. The presentation had the feel of a former large canteen. The glass bowls could easily have come from such stocks. Regarding the service: the chef was truly diligent, friendly, and attentive, even accommodating special requests. At times, he was even running around to get everything done quickly. Perhaps an additional server was missing. However, that doesn't make up for yesterday's subpar food quality. The value for money isn't right either. The presentation of the dishes also has a lot of room for improvement. Perhaps we just had a bad day with the food; otherwise, I can't really explain the many very positive reviews of the food. We'll check again. After all, everyone deserves a second chance. However, if the quality is another disappointment, we'll clarify it in person. We didn't have the time yesterday. Regarding the ambiance: the location of the summer terrace with a view of the Teufelsbrück ferry dock is magnificent. Truly a place to linger, especially on warm summer days. Unfortunately, the tables and chairs are very dated, as are the dishes.

I haven't had such a bad meal in a long time! The table was poorly set. I had fried potatoes, which were dry and greasy, the schnitzel was so dry, the side salad had very little cocktail sauce, and the portions were very small. I absolutely do not recommend this place for eating. Everything comes straight from the fryer. The price/performance ratio is outrageous. A shame about the beautiful location.

I have to give it full marks. We ate there this week. At first, I thought, "Great, the waiter seemed a bit uninteresting." But that quickly changed. Very relaxed and friendly. The food was truly delicious. We were actually pleasantly surprised. Beautiful view of the water, and you can also sit inside. Very quaint. We 100 percent recommend it!

The food is delicious, but the portions are very modest. The pan-fried fish is served in goulash-sized pieces, so it's hard to judge the exact amount. The ambiance inside the ship is very nice, but the furniture outside is pretty worn.

It was a real experience. The restaurant is very quaint and the food was very good. The service was also very friendly and pleasant. It's also beautifully situated by the water. There's also a large outdoor terrace.

Terrible. Last Sunday. Table dirty. Carelessly covered. Marinated salmon with potato rosti equals 1 slice of smoked salmon from the pack and 2 frozen potato pancakes. Fried potatoes greasy, schnitzel dry, side salad drowned in cocktail sauce, portions puny. Unspeakable and absolutely not recommended. Price performance outrageous. It's a shame about the beautiful location.

I had to pee urgently and politely asked if I could use the toilet. Their statement was that it was defective (can you then offer food and drinks?) and I was directed to the gas station. I can recommend the gas station, but not the restaurant at all for the reasons just mentioned.

We are long-time visitors and were very 😞 disappointed with the portion size and the size of the fish pieces in the Fischpann. The fried potatoes also consisted more of tomatoes and cucumber and some of the slices were very hard and tasted like they were from the day before. Maybe there's someone else in the kitchen, but in any case it's nothing compared to previous visits. Nevertheless, a very nice restaurant furnished with great attention to detail and an absolute feel-good atmosphere❤️❤️❤️The best thing is and remains the service and the wonderful coffee!!😍😘☕️Excellent location!!!

We ate really delicious panfish in a rustic atmosphere in this quaint ship restaurant. Luckily we had reserved a table because at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening there were already a lot of people waiting for a free table. At the end we got a grappa on the house. We thought that the landlord was very nice 😊.

I went there without a reservation on a weekday around 6:00 p.m. and it was quite crowded. I liked the location and view and would have liked to have eaten there. I had no idea that the free places were reserved. I approached the waiter on the dock, who noticed me but initially turned his back on me at the station until I spoke to him. I asked kindly if there was still a place for me. Indifferent to annoyed, he just looked over his shoulder and growled 'reservedly' at me, very dismissive and not very hospitable. Afterwards I thought about reserving for another day, but as an individual I find it difficult to imagine having a good time with this treatment. You don't just go to a restaurant to eat. That would be my standard for a snack bar. Even if the waiter is friendly next time, it might just be because he might expect a tip for seating me. You have to be philanthropic for hospitality to have a chance. Friendliness, not just at the table, is my advice.

The food is delicious. Unfortunately it's far too greasy for my taste and the portions are manageable. There could always be a bit more on it. So in my opinion the price is not justified and is around 10% too high. The service is friendly and attentive, the ambience is rustic inside and not really successful outside. That's better.

A really great little fish restaurant. Price-performance ratio is 100%. There is a small deduction for the food, I would have liked to have only deducted half a star. The potato salad wasn't to my taste, but that's not standard. After all, tastes are different and that's a good thing. The fish, however, and the homemade tartar sauce were great!!! The atmosphere is rustic. The restaurant is on the water and moves with the tides, totally cool. The service was great! We'd love to come back as soon as we're back in Hamburg.

That's why we came by again today, 15 people from our bowling team. We had a great time sitting at the round table, enjoyed the food and the service was great and very friendly, even though it was so full! “Team Germany” would like to thank you for the wonderful evening with a triple: “Good wood, good wood, good wood!”
