A fantastic restaurant in every respect: sensational food, surprisingly reasonable prices, very pleasant service, a great atmosphere in a fantastic location! Highly recommended!

Good food, great ambience. Nice staff. Unfortunately, when we reserved the table, we didn't receive the information that the table was occupied again after almost 1.5 hours. The timing was right, but there was an unrelaxed feeling of having to finish. That was a bit of a shame.

We were here as a large group for a business lunch and had agreed on a selection of dishes in advance. Both the fish and the beef steak were excellent. One guest was vegan and was promptly served a menu with a starter, main course and dessert. Terrific! You can't eat better than this.

We passed it while we were walking and spontaneously decided to stop there. The service was great even though they were at full capacity. Kind, accommodating and with a smile on her face. In addition, the food tasted very good and was at the table quickly. So all in all very good.

I was thrilled by the “Pannenfisxh”. The ambience of the restaurant is noble and upscale, but at the same time warm and inviting. The classic Hanseatic style creates a pleasant, stylish atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. A great place for anyone who wants to experience first-class cuisine in a charming and authentic setting. Absolutely recommended – I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

We ordered a goose for 4 people and it was very tasty. Unfortunately, what we only saw when we got home was that all additional dishes we ordered were charged extra. We are moderate eaters, so if the 6 small dumplings and the small bowl of red cabbage weren't enough, then it certainly wasn't because we don't mind the side dishes. It's a shame, that wouldn't have been necessary

What an evening!!! We were in the old pilot house with a larger group on the occasion of my birthday. Thank you very much, you gave us an unforgettable evening that was perfect from start to finish. Great ambience, a fantastic menu, everything is absolutely on point. Nico looked after us fantastically: unobtrusive, authentic and yet always present and soooo friendly. We will definitely visit you more often.

Wir waren an einem Samstag in der Vorweihnachtszeit dort und haben das Menü nebst Weinbegleitung genossen. Alles perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt und sehr schmackhaft. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, obwohl das Restaurant sehr gut - auch von größeren Gruppen - besucht war. Wir kommen wieder!!!

Good morning, We have a cooking session with 4 people and everyone takes turns cooking. Since cooking stresses me out a few years ago, I decided a few years ago to invite everyone over for dinner when it was my turn. For this reason we ended up here in the old pilot house this time. Since I was afraid that we wouldn't be able to get a parking space nearby, we took harbor ferry 62. The journey through the harbor was already an experience. Then after only walking a few meters we arrived at the restaurant. The first impression was like being at home. Very cozy and warm. The service greeted us extremely warmly and took us to the reserved seat by the window. The view of the Elbe with the sailing ships is simply unbeatable. We were then given plenty of time to study the map. We were able to put together a 3 or 4 course menu from various dishes. Of course we decided on a 4-course menu. During the meal we were asked several times what the timing should be. We found that extremely thoughtful. So our meal lasted 3.5 hours with great conversations. So you can really take your time here. Despite the house being full, the service was very attentive and extremely friendly. We were extremely enthusiastic about the food. I have never eaten such tender beef. All the other courses were also something special in themselves. Everyone was very enthusiastic and we will remember this meal for a long time. Our conclusion is that the overall package deserves 10 stars, but unfortunately you can only give it 5.

Very warm and lovely staff, incredibly tasty, high quality food, delicious wine and overall top service! We had a really nice and long evening in the beautiful pilot house. The terrace is definitely beautiful in summer too. We will definitely come again, thank you for the lovely and delicious evening.❤️

Great dinner on Saturday evening. Great service, which was really friendly and accommodating - please keep it that way. The same applies to the cook in the house: you can't prepare these dishes better, they're really top quality. Everything absolutely delicious. Labskaus, broiled salmon, veg. Starter, risotto or pan fish - every dish is a real treat. We'll be back! Thanks to the entire team for the lovely evening.

We were guests here as part of a company party. The restaurant in a great location leaves nothing to be desired. First class food, drinks, service, ambience all top class!

We were here with 8 people. The 4-course menu was super tasty and the wine pairing was very well coordinated. The service was excellent. The afternoon menu was made especially available for the children. Fish and chips. An absolute recommendation for young and old.

My first address when it comes to fish! Very good and nice staff. Good wine selection. Highly recommended! Today it is December 25th, 2022 and we were once again in our favorite fish restaurant. As expected, we were once again not disappointed 😃. Here are a few pictures.

(I was there on a Saturday evening, and I admire the team that served the rushing masses...that can be taken literally..... in a friendly, polite and courteous manner!) Das **Sommer-Schlemmermenü im "Zum alten Lotsenhaus"** in Hamburg bot solide Kost, jedoch ohne besondere Highlights oder Überraschungen. Das Steinbeißerfilet enttäuschte etwas und war eher durchschnittlich. Besonders gut gelungen hingegen waren die Ceviche und die Rote Beete-Gazpacho, die durch frische Zutaten und kräftige Aromen überzeugen konnten. Der Abschluss mit der Orangen Panna-Cotta war optisch schön angerichtet. Positiv hervorzuheben ist das freundliche Personal und die Lage, das den Abend angenehm gestaltete. Alles in allem ein nettes Erlebnis, wenn auch ohne besondere kulinarische Höhen.

Hatten zum 70. Geburtstag einen Tisch für das Sommer Schlemmer Menue im Restaurant reserviert, was auch nach telefonischer Rückfrage bestätigt wurde. Hatten uns auf ein gediegenes Ambiente für diesen besonderen Anlass gefreut. Um so überraschter waren wir, als wir dort ankamen und man uns einen Tisch im Garten zuwies mit der Begründung, dass es eine geschlossene Veranstaltung gäbe und deshalb im Restaurant kein Platz wäre. Informiert wurden wir über diese Änderung nicht. Sonst hätten wir ein anderes Restaurant für den Tag gewählt. Die Bedienung wurde dann auch noch sehr patzig, als wir auf Nachfrage, ob wir zum Menue die Weinbegleitung wünschen, ablehnten. Es wurde nicht gefragt ob wir trotzdem die Getränkekarte wünschen. Die kam erst auf unsere Nachfrage. Zum Menue müssen wir leider sagen, Vorspeise und Zwischengang waren geschmacklich einfach nur fade, völlig ohne Salz gekocht und in Limettensaft ertränkt. Das Steinbeisserfilet war unter einer Bröselmasse begraben und so lange gebraten worden, dass es nur trocken war. Auch hier fehlte von Salz jede Spur. Unser Fazit: eine weiterer Besuch lohnt sich leider nicht.

Im Rahmen des Hamburger Schlemmersommers, waren wir gestern im alten Lotsenhaus, vier Gänge für gut 50 Euro pro Person. Alle vier Gänge waren von guter Qualität, es fehlte mir jedoch etwas, wo man dann sagt " Wow, richtig geil, wie kreativ". Die Weinbegleitung war durchwachsen. Der Rose zum Steinbeißerfilet war perfekt. Der Riesling zur roten Beete Gazpachio eher nicht so. Die Location ist sehr positiv hervorzuheben, richtig großartig.

On Saturday I celebrated a big birthday in the Old Pilot House. I would give it a sixth star because it was perfect from start to finish. I would particularly like to highlight the wonderful service, whose attentive and friendly manner really made the evening an experience. Starting from the first conversations a few weeks before until the last minute A1!!! The food is a dream and the ambience cannot be topped. Many thanks to the entire Lotsenhaus team!!

The food was good; the location is the reason for the repeated spontaneous visit. The female The service staff that evening was very courteous and stress-resistant, which relaxed us. I would have believed that the male waitress would have handled the loud person at the next table better.

It was busy and the service was reaching its limits. We always had to wait a long time for drinks etc. The rissotto was a lukewarm, dry mountain of rice. The others had good food.

Good regional cuisine refined in restaurant style. An example - the Labskaus does not come as one. The components are nicely draped so that you can decide for yourself what you mix and how 😅

We eat at the Old Pilot House several times a year. Great view of the Elbe and harbor from the terrace. The restaurant is cozy, but has a bit of light. Always very attentive service. Fish dishes and wine always taste good. On the beach side, the pilot house also has a terrace with a small map. It's also a great place to sit and eat or just have a drink. Unfortunately very little vegetarian selection.

This is the second time we have hosted a larger party in the pilot house. Service, food and ambience leave nothing to be desired - it is a great location that guarantees a high level of quality!

Even late in the evening you could get something to eat, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Joke on the side: You couldn't order asparagus anymore because the hollandaise sauce was "out". You have to imagine that... - nevertheless, our fish plate was very tasty.

The food was bad. Calamari and fish plates over cooked. There were too many fries, which were also overcooked and dry.

We enjoyed a great evening. Praise to our waitress, who served us in a friendly and very professional manner. She responded wonderfully to our wishes and especially to my wife's intolerances. Further praise for the kitchen. The dishes were very, very tasty and prepared to perfection. My wife still raves about the beef fillet. And I think the prices are very fair. All in all, a very successful evening and we will be happy to come back.

Zufällig montags abends im Restaurant gelandet. Das Essen war durchweg in Ordnung - keine Extravaganz, aber frisch und schnell zubereitet. Das Restaurant ist sauber, aber zu aufgeräumt. Die Kundschaft obere Mittelschicht. Entsprechendes Flair herrschte in dem Laden. Gut, dass die Bedienung, die sehr professionell gewesen ist, etwas mehr Lockerheit mitgebracht hat.

The location is good, the service is a disgrace. Even if you have a bad day, you should remain professional, especially when it comes to prices. We ordered cocoa with cream, which was brought without cream and tasted very watery. We pointed this out to the waitress. She started arguing with us and became extremely mushy. She brought us both cocoa that was way too full and overflowed on all sides. It seemed extra. You don't do that.

We asked where we could drink coffee in this area. But even though it was 6 in the evening, we had difficulty finding a place. Is it a special event for Fridays? I do not know. It was fun to drink our coffee towards sunset. Since we didn't have much time, we couldn't enjoy the conversation much; but we liked the place. White color was predominantly used. The wall decorations on the tables are also in white tones. Service and service could have been better. Does it have parking? I don't know about that; but I guess not. Would I go to this place again? I think of course you can go. The cappuccino is nice. You can try it too. Stay well.

We went here for dinner with a larger group. The food was absolutely top. One waitress was on the ball and very friendly. The other one was unfortunately the complete opposite, she was annoyed and then refused to be called for drinks, which we didn't think was very professional.

It was my first time here, my club had invited people, the menu selection was clearer than expected at first impression, but when I decided on my three courses I was excited. Despite the large group, all the dishes came to the table at the same time, which I thought was great. Everything tasted very good to me, I would have liked to lick the plate... But well, I still have a bit of behavior. The meat was cooked to perfection, the side dishes were simple but so cleverly seasoned that it was a very intense experience in the mouth. I'm pretty sure that I'll come here with my wife on a date night, now I just have to convince the children's grandma to take care of the two of them. The location directly on the Elbe is certainly impressive in the summer, but now in the winter, at least for me, the location was irrelevant. Afterwards I looked at the prices on the homepage, they weren't cheap, but it would have been worth it to me.

One of the oldest inns in Hamburg is the much older Pilot's House with a beautiful view of the Elbe and the harbor.

Absolutely delicious food, also completely problem-free for allergies/intolerances. Service is very attentive & friendly. The ambience is a very successful mix of stylish, elegant and rustic, historical.

Today we were in the old pilot house again. This time on St. Martin's Day for St. Martin's Goose. The food and service was excellent. We will be back. This time we got a table upstairs, the view of the Elbe was just beautiful. Until now we didn't know that there was a first floor. The only criticism was that when we sat down we were told that the table was only available until 8 p.m. This was not communicated to me when I made the reservation by telephone, nor when I confirmed the table again yesterday.
