We were extremely disappointed with our visit to Bamiyan Restaurant in Hamburg. The food served was clearly leftover and far from fresh, which is both unhygienic and unacceptable. Yesterday, 20 of us were at Bamiyan and had a truly lovely evening. The food was truly excellent—fresh, delicious, and everyone found something to their liking. The service was super friendly and attentive, even though there were quite a few of us. You could tell the team was making an effort. We felt at home and would definitely come back!

Very disappointing visit - won't be back Today we had lunch at the Bamiyan Restaurant in Hamburg around 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, this time the visit was a complete disappointment - completely different from my first time in the evening, when the boss was there and everything went well. The service today was chaotic: • Long waiting time • Wrong order taken and wrong food delivered • The waiter just said, “Well, I did it wrong.” – without apology or solution • No written invoice, just a verbal amount of €53 – no transparency at all About the food itself: • Qabuli Palau was old and dry, without carrots and raisins - i.e. without the main ingredients • For the second dish we ordered “Bamiyan Mix Grill”, but only got lamb skewers – we still paid the full price It's a shame that the whole restaurant loses quality due to inattentive staff. Something like this shouldn't happen - especially not at these prices.

Unfortunately the visit was disappointing. Right at the beginning, only a tiny portion of cheese with a few herbs was served for four people - that was more embarrassing than a welcome greeting. The main courses were also too few for four people and the service was very weak. Not recommended.

We drove to Hamburg over the weekend and this restaurant was our first stop after a 6 hour drive. It was super tasty, all the staff were very polite and, above all, it was very clean. Since we came exactly at opening time, we didn't have to wait or make a reservation at all. We'd love to come back.

I briefly asked if I could use the toilet and that I wasn't familiar with the area and was coldly sent away. If a bum comes in and wants to go to the toilet, I can still understand why someone would say no. But when a normal young woman comes in and denies such a basic need is disgusting. The service was friendly and the food came quickly. The portion was very small, the plate was only the size of a breakfast plate. The eggplant was mushy, there were only three (!) small pieces of meat for 17 euros. There was also a plate of rice as much as the main course. That was nothing!

The cheapest restaurant in Hamburg... there were about 8 people there to eat, the very evening of the day everyone felt sick and had nausea, diarrhea, etc... the rice with meat (Kabuli Palaw) was out of date and I don't know when it was, it was definitely from the day before, so there's no way it's cooked fresh every day... I recommend you not to waste money and risk your health... Never again 👎👎👎👎

The decor is amazing and adds to the authenticity of the place. The customer service was excellent—the young lady at the entrance welcomed guests with great respect, and the waitstaff were professional and attentive. Their warm hospitality made the experience even better. However, the food could use some improvement. The Kashk-e-Bademjan was delicious and well-prepared, but the Bamiyan mixed dish was underwhelming. While the lamb cutlet was decent, the rest of the dish was not cooked well. The rice seemed to be only briefly boiled, lacked salt, and overall was quite bland. The entire dish was missing the necessary spices to bring out the flavors, making it feel overpriced for the quality. Additionally, I found it disappointing that the waitstaff approached my table asking for the bill to be paid while I was still drinking my tea. This felt rushed and took away from the dining experience. Overall, while the atmosphere and service were great, the food quality and dining experience need some improvement for the price point.

A wonderful experience at Bamiyan Restaurant! The atmosphere is very inviting and authentic, which immediately creates a special atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, you feel well looked after. The food is simply outstanding – the flavors are intense and fresh, and every dish is prepared with great attention to detail. I particularly liked the Afghan specialties. Afghan restaurant with traditional cuisine and grill. Nicely decorated restaurant, and in summer you can sit outside in a secluded outdoor area. As a starter I had Chatni, vegetables pickled in vinegar and slightly spicy with herbs. For the main course I had Halifa, lamb skewer pieces on eggplant puree with flatbread and rice. The lamb was fried to perfection, I would have liked a little sauce for the rice as it was a bit dry. The food was very tasty and there are many other good dishes on the menu. The service was extremely friendly and I can recommend the restaurant!

The service was really bad. Long waiting times. You are ignored. My food didn't come until 20 minutes after the rest of the people had eaten. Then it was the wrong one and it wasn't even warm anymore. Ordering more drinks was almost impossible. The food was ok, but definitely not appropriate for the price. I can't recommend dishes with rice because you just end up with a huge portion of unseasoned dry rice.

We were here on a Saturday afternoon. The service was VERY nice, friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and also a lot. We had Quabuli. This is a pile of rice with raisins and carrots. Braised lamb is underneath the rice. It was very tasty. I've eaten this dish elsewhere before, but I liked it a bit better here. There is always a small bowl with this delicious spinach dish as standard. It was very tasty. I actually thought I didn't like it but I think I'll order it next time. We'll definitely be back.

The dish for two people was just cold, like it came from the fridge, only the rice was warm. The grilled dishes weren't necessarily very warm either. Another person's food didn't even come and it only came after repeated requests. The taste of the food is nothing special - I had better Afghan food in Hamburg and it's not even worth it for the price. The service staff was nice and friendly and the atmosphere is also nice. Nevertheless, it is far too expensive for cold food and you have to order yogurt and salad separately, although the dishes themselves are quite expensive. My brother had left the same thing as a review, unfortunately the operator deleted it and marked it as alleged slander, although it was simply honest criticism and our experience! I hope that in the future they don't constantly delete their negative reviews but take them seriously and try to change something.

The store is undoubtedly pretty to look at. From afar! Of course, if you take a closer look at everything, you'll find a few problems. The chairs were very dirty, everything was close together, the background noise wasn't the best. We were served quickly and the service was also nice. For starters I can recommend the Keshke Bademjun! I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the best in ALL of Hamburg! For about €6 it's totally fine for two people. If you order this alone, you will find that it is very filling, so be careful! But now to the main courses. The meat was good but really nothing special. For the prices I think it's pretty cheeky. The meat was also quite dry even though it was marinated in sauce. Rice was good though! You get two types. The drinks would be good too. The Daugh and the KiBa were great. In total I paid €76 for 3 people with a starter, main course and drinks.

We were there for the first time an hour ago (traveled from Hanover) and are unfortunately very disappointed. The service was very poor even though it wasn't particularly busy. We had to wait a long time for someone to even take our order - in the end we went to the front ourselves to let them know. We had soup as a starter and Kabab Waziri and Kubideh as our main course. Unfortunately, both were served cold and, to be honest, we weren't impressed with the taste. We wouldn't go there again and in our opinion we can't recommend the restaurant.

We used to love coming here, but today was our last visit. It started with the greasy menus. When we ordered the lukewarm cola arrived. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has decreased quite a bit. The rice was so soaked in butter that we couldn't eat it. The meat also tasted bland, but was still edible in contrast to the “grilled” tomatoes, which were obviously prepared hours before. We also ordered a small portion of Sabzi (Afghan spinach) where 2 tablespoons were served, the small bowl was not even half full. We brought that up too, but the answer was just that the same bowls have been used since we opened. However, the service is very friendly and keeps asking if everything is OK. It's a shame that the store has slacked off so much.

My worst experience ever. We came today as a group of 15 people. I made a reservation two days ago and have already ordered the food that should be on the table today. We arrived at 7pm today and would have to wait until 9pm for our food. Seven to eight tables that arrived later than us were already served, but none came to us. When the food arrived at 9:10 p.m. and not complete, one got it and the other after 10 minutes. Some of us finished eating, then the food came from the rest. The food was cold. The staff hardly reacted to it and the boss was not visible or available to speak to. That was my first and last time. I was completely embarrassed in front of my guests. The food wasn't anything special either. I would like to rate it with zero stars. This restaurant is not recommended at all. Three other guests next to us also had to wait with us, they even waited longer than us. Simply a waste of money. ZERO ZERO ZERO.
