Als wir in das Restaurant kommen, war sehr leer, was mir erst mal ein bisschen Angst gemacht hat. Das Essen war aber wirklich toll und auch der Service hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Klare Empfehlung, wir kommen wieder

Wir waren dort mit neun Personen und haben uns u.a. vier Mezze Platten geteilt. Sehr lecker, schöne Auswahl und alle sind gut satt geworden. Der Service war freundlich und angenehm. Ich komme gerne wieder!

Das Essen war einfach unnormal lecker. Sowas bekommt man nicht überall. Und wir waren ganz traurig, als es schon leer war. Der Service ist auch mega nett. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen bestimmt mal wieder, wenn wir wieder in Hamburg sind.

Uns hat ein befreundeter Künstler hier her entführt, um uns seine ausgestellten Bilder zu zeigen, dass man hier dann auch noch richtig leckere Speisen zum fairen Kurs mit liebevollen Service bekommt, macht diesen Ort ganz besonders.

Sehr netter Service, hatten nur was getrunken. Essen muss gut sein da viele Tische für den Abend reserviert waren.

Die Bedienung ist sooo nett und zuvorkommend! werden auf jeden fall wiederkommen☀️

Ich war mit Freunden zu meinem Geburtstag dort. Die Atmosphäre war angenehm und der Gastgeber freundlich. Der Service war jedoch sehr langsam und wir mussten ewig auf unser Essen warten. Die Vorspeisen waren mittelmäßig, die Hauptgerichte entsprachen nicht unseren Erwartungen – und das nach so langer Wartezeit. Insgesamt eine Enttäuschung.

Sehr leckere, ausgewogene und interessant zusammengestellte Gerichte. Auch die Auswahl an Teesorten ist hervorragend. Der Nachtisch war ebenfalls sehr gut – allerdings ein kleiner Hinweis: Der Grießkuchen wurde mit Kokosraspeln serviert, was so leider nicht auf der Karte stand (wichtig für Allergiker oder Leute, die keinen Kokos mögen). Wer Kunst liebt, kann zudem einige interessante Bilder erwerben, die während des Essens für tollen Gesprächsstoff sorgen!

Ich komme seit mehr als 2 Jahren regelmäßig hier essen. Vorweg: ich kann nicht verstehen, wieso das Restaurant oft so spärlich besetzt ist - denn das Essen ist gleichbleibend fantastisch und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich empfehle vor allem die Mazza - perfekt um sich das zu zweit oder als Gruppe zu teilen. Großes Kompliment an das Team - ich hoffe der Laden bleibt noch lange erhalten. Ich freu mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch!

Die Lage gefällt mir, es ist schön, wenn sich ein Restaurant Mühe gibt. Das Essen war ansprechend angerichtet und gut zubereitet, die Portion Salat und Kartoffelecken war reichlich, aber das Lamm war leider völlig geschmacklos (wie so oft bei Fleisch in Hamburg). Ich bin schwer zufriedenzustellen, aber ich würde hier wieder essen.

Ich komme gerne hierher, weil wir hinten sitzen und unsere Privatsphäre haben können. Das Essen ist wirklich gut.

Wirklich sehr freundlicher Service, auch bei Fragen zu Allergien. Habe mich gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

Das Essen war furchtbar… Mein Hähnchen war verbrannt, und seht euch mal den Salat an! Der roch und schmeckte sauer, was darauf hindeutet, dass er schon tagelang gestanden hatte (hoffentlich haben sie nicht einfach die Reste von anderen Gästen gesammelt und als frisch serviert). Rote Bete, Linsen und Petersilie als Mezze? Der Kellner fragte nicht einmal, ob es uns geschmeckt hat, weil er genau wusste, wie wir uns gefühlt haben. Mir ist nach ein paar Stunden immer noch übel. Nie wieder! Und dass das Restaurant unter jede schlechte Bewertung ein Herzchen als Kommentar setzt, zeigt, wie egal ihnen ihre Gäste sind.

Das ganze Personal ist super lieb, sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend und wir haben jedes Mal eine sehr gute Zeit hier! Waren den ganzen Sommer über auf der Terrasse und jetzt sitzen wir gemütlich drinnen. Happy Hour ist auch spitze :)

Baba Azeitona ist nicht einfach nur ein Ort, an dem köstlich gekocht wird. Es ist ein Restaurant, in das man hineingeht und sich sofort als willkommener Gast fühlt. Hier herrscht eine besondere Atmosphäre: Gemütlichkeit, warme Lächeln und eine lebendige Energie, die einen dazu bringt, noch ein bisschen länger zu bleiben… und noch ein bisschen. Mich haben die Freundlichkeit der Kellner und die unglaubliche Gastfreundschaft des Besitzers wirklich beeindruckt. Er empfängt einen, als würde man zu guten Freunden nach Hause kommen. Ein besonderer Dank an ihn für den so herzlichen, aufmerksamen und angenehmen Empfang im Baba Azeitona. Das ist ein Restaurant, in das man immer wieder gerne zurückkehrt.

Food 10/10 and super nice staff :)

We ended up here with a larger group quite spontaneously. The service was very friendly, and we felt well looked after, even though we were seated far outside. The atmosphere obviously suffers from being on the main street, but we had a pleasant seating arrangement. The first thing that caught our eye were the low prices. By Hamburg standards, they were truly a bargain. I had the sirloin steak for €16.90. It was relatively small, but well grilled, and the sides were plentiful and delicious. Hardly any of the dishes were earth-shattering, but everything was delicious and exactly what you'd expect!

Great restaurant with modern Levantine, Mediterranean, Arabic, and Oriental cuisine in a cozy atmosphere - always happy to return ☺️

Fish (burger) tastes like cleaning rag

The service was nice, but the food was a disaster. My burger was awful, and the soups were all overly salty. The drinks weren't tasty at all. All in all, I'd give it just one star.

We dined here by chance, and it was truly an absolute experience. I can only agree with everyone else here – the staff is so friendly, really great, but above all, the food is absolutely fantastic. The baba ganoush was so incredibly delicious, the arrabiata was also spiced completely differently, so delicious, and the hummus was so incredibly creamy. I can really recommend it; such an insider tip! And: contrary to some of the reviews here, the restaurant is absolutely suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets! There are so many options! Eat here, people :)

Great food (vegetarian matzah for two, lentil soup, salad), friendly service, and really good value for money! The location on the main road is a bit inconvenient, but you get plenty of sun on the terrace.

I was there for the first time two weeks ago. I was extremely satisfied! I had the lamb burger and this drink with mango and cinnamon. It was super delicious and great value for money! We had ordered mezze beforehand, and everything was also incredibly delicious, like the beetroot. And the falafel were also amazing! Really crispy and juicy. The desserts sounded amazing; I'll definitely have to try them. The staff were also super friendly; I'd love to go again.

We stopped at this location as part of a food tour. The falafel we ordered was very hard and dry. Unfortunately, hummus didn't taste good either. We were the only guests in the restaurant. Unfortunately not recommended.

The food is extremely delicious. In particular the beetroot mezze, falafels, pasta arrabiata and the green seed risotto. The latter is something very special.

Were at Baba Azeitona for the first time. Rather coincidental. We are fans of Levante cuisine and are used to a lot of (good) things. The selection of dishes exceeded the usual. Very beautiful, unusual creations. The service was friendly and the food came quickly. Requests were also readily responded to. The starter (3 wild prawns) was quite generous and tasty. The stuffed chicken would have been delicious even without the sauce. The falafel plate was very rich and tasted great. Although the falafel also tasted a bit unusual due to a combination of caraway, anise and fennel spices. Luckily it wasn't that dominant. For us it is clear that we were not there for the last time. There are many more dishes to try. See you soon!

A real taste experience! Baba Azeitona impresses with fresh, authentic ingredients and a unique mix of oriental flavors. The dishes are prepared with great attention to detail and you can taste the quality straight away. The service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is inviting and cozy. Absolute recommendation for everyone who appreciates enjoyment at the highest level! I'll definitely be back!

The potato wedges and sauce were exceptionally delicious - very well spiced with fresh herbs. The negative comments about the side salad are accurate - it definitely needs to be replaced.

We got 4 different dishes with lamb. It was delicious and juicy! The only thing that disappointed us was the burger bun (bread) which was a bit dry and boring. Pleasant and informative waiter who clearly had control over his menu card

A wonderful, quiet restaurant that offers everything

A really wonderful restaurant, whether for a simple meal or for a celebration, it always fits. The cuisine is first class and the prices are actually too cheap. Absolute recommendation!

We had lunch at Baba Azeitona with 14 people. Everyone liked the restaurant: very tasty and cheap food, great ambience, nice host and delicious coffee (even with oat milk). We will come again!

We only had a drink here, but we were treated extremely friendly and the drinks were also very good.

We sat there for an hour to have a starter, when we asked we were told that unfortunately the kitchen could no longer prepare it. Thank you for nothing, because there was no communication, there were no alternative suggestions and the service was unfriendly when we asked.

Delicious and cheap. Very flavorful, very nice

We went there to take advantage of the happy hour offer. Waited almost 40 minutes for 2 gin and tonics and 2 Cuba Libre. We were about to steal the orphaned Astra from the toilets. Initially a mule was ordered. The waiter pointed out to us after we had placed our order 10 minutes ago that there was no ginger ale available. Nice, it doesn't come in a mule either. After another 30 minutes our drinks, which were far too strong and carelessly prepared, arrived. The impression here is that guests are being lured with cheap offers, cheap ingredients and untrained staff. Atmosphere is more like a cemetery.

Never had Levantine cuisine so good, the dishes were perfectly seasoned and fantastically prepared. You should definitely try it if you are in the area.

We can't decide which tasted best! We took the mixed starters and then always ordered what was tastiest. A short vacation for the palate in the heart of Hamburg :)

Excellent restaurant, the choice is varied, the dishes are just spicy and tasty. Much better than their French counterparts.

My girlfriend and I were warmly welcomed as soon as we entered the restaurant. We sat outside because the atmosphere there was very pleasant. The food was really plentiful and very tasty, so the slightly longer waiting time can only be explained by the fact that it was freshly prepared :) The prices are totally okay! The owner was really nice, sociable and runs his restaurant very well!! We'd love to come back!

I was in Hamburg with my wife a few weeks ago and I'm from Bavaria. Our son lives in Hamburg and took us to this restaurant. Love this very good food. Unfortunately the cousous was definitely spoiled. I ate a maximum of 2 spoonfuls of it and then developed severe stomach pain. Don't come again.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Baba Azeitona and all I can say is that it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I entered the restaurant I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ambience is simply enchanting - tastefully decorated and perfectly lit to create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish I tried was fresh and full of flavor. I would particularly like to highlight the kebab roll, which was simply excellently prepared. The portions were generous and the value for money is unbeatable. It's rare to find such high quality food at such fair prices. The service was also outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and always tried to fulfill all wishes. They made a big contribution to making the evening so pleasant. Overall, my visit to Baba Azeitona was a wonderful experience. Delicious food, a great ambience and first-class service – what more could you want? I can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.

Incredibly delicious food and also very plentiful. I have rarely eaten such perfectly seasoned dishes where I really enjoyed EVERYTHING (and we had 18 starters, 2 main courses & dessert). Very nice service, at the end there was even a schnapps on the house. It was also very inexpensive. We didn't pay €60 for everything including the Aperol Spritz. Absolute recommendation!

Extremely delicious food with creative ideas (we had matzah, shawarma plate, lamb burger and the delicious cinnamon-ginger ice cream). Very friendly service and fair prices. We also had long drinks (happy hour 9-10:30 p.m.).

Unfortunately we didn't get to eat because we were treated very badly and super rudely by the owner. He was extremely racist to us! In the end he wanted to attack me, but his staff held him down. We called the police and wanted to report him, but we decided against it just because he is an old grandpa. Never with you again! 🤮

After 40 minutes of walking through Hamburg, I finally found a restaurant where I could sit down to eat. The service is great, the gentleman who works there is very friendly and caring. You immediately feel comfortable. The food was ok. I would have just liked the vegetables to be a little more organized, so not too overcooked. More like aldente. I'll still come back in 2 weeks. LG

The two of us ate there. I ordered the couscous tajine. A plate of bland, not warm food was served. I actually know tajine differently, I was just on holiday in Marrakech... my companion found her food (köfte with sesame, she completely missed the sesame, as I did the almonds and the tajine...) also cold and bland. It wasn't a nice atmosphere either; in the pictures it looks much more inviting. Boss very nice, staff could work on smiling. Conclusion disappointing for us. But maybe we just chose the wrong dishes.

We drank cocktails there. It was very pleasant and the bus leaves right outside the door.

My wife and I visited the restaurant based on a recommendation. Our expectations were far exceeded. The family-run business is extremely friendly, accommodating, reads your wishes from your lips, so that you have the feeling of being warmly welcomed and you immediately feel like you are among friends. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant because of its wonderful culinary diversity! Days later, you still think back with gratitude to the culinary experiences, the friendliness and the atmosphere in the rooms. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

Absolutely great shop if you want delicious vegetarian and vegan food. The atmosphere is great, the staff is really nice. A must for every Hamburg resident and anyone visiting the most beautiful city in the world. We will be back definitely.

This restaurant is characterized by wonderful, delicious, varied food. From vegetarian to lamb to fish, everything is included and the price-performance ratio is excellent. The employees, obviously including the boss himself, are very courteous and very nice and are happy to explain the different dishes as well as the region from which these wonderful dishes came to Germany. The location is excellent with the direct bus connection and the direct route to the party mile. For that reason, here is my fullest recommendation and be sure to check it out for a quick snack if necessary

My new favorite restaurant in Hamburg! I'm really excited about the food 🤩 we were there for lunch, the prices are totally fair and the boss was courteous and friendly. Great service, great atmosphere with the chandeliers, fresh roses on the tables and the food was heavenly good. Exceptionally unpleasant… - there on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was moderately busy - authentic Levantine cuisine? - more standard or the dishes that a German perceives as “Levante”. - Waiting time for drinks is around 30-40 minutes, you wait a little longer for the starters; Unfortunately, not all of the dishes we ordered made it to us, which we kindly pointed out to the waitress - Bread portion for 5 people was rather narrow with 5 small corners of Arabic bread; had to be reordered several times - After 1.5 hours and repeated requests, the food came, unfortunately again not everything and unfortunately only gradually, so eating together as a group was impossible... - Hummus and a salad to finish - the preparation probably took 2 hours (I honestly could have prepared the dishes we ordered in 40 minutes alone in my kitchen, but so be it.) During the waiting time, only two other tables were served with food, so it couldn't necessarily have been due to the flood of orders. The service staff, two young women, tried hard but were a little overwhelmed by the situation and our growing dissatisfaction with the quantity and quality of the food (shawarma snacks are often better)/process and waiting time, so we had a little chat at the end of the evening want to look for the managing director. Our criticism was not taken into account, it was our fault for only complaining after 3 hours. The comparison that it was like rush hour in the restaurant like in the city center and that everything was going slowly was unfortunately not accurate, even with a great deal of imagination. Even walking speed in first gear would be more satisfying than this meal. (Luckily I got a portion of churros afterwards) They didn't let us finish. It was assumed that we wanted to blame the service staff. Nothing can be taken from the bill due to the cash register system, which is simply a lie. A 20% was then drawn with a pen on a 10% voucher - for the next time and since there will be no next time, two 5s were then arrogantly (sorry) counted out from a wad of money and thrown at us. Wow. Pearls of communication (private questions like “Do you always go through life so suspiciously”), touching the service staff to show team spirit and the final expulsion rounded off the impression. At the end we were able to laugh about it, ate something and just wanted to provide a bit of a reality check. Thanks for the minutes of reading time.

Definitely a recommendation: a good selection of different dishes. Also several starter options. Everything looks appetizing. The kebab roll was really tasty. But the kicker came at the end: the dessert called Nammora - a semolina cake with date sauce. Absolute risk of repetition. Friendly staff and humorous boss, who didn't lose his cool even when his payment terminal refused to work on Saturday evening. First of all, there was some caraway on the house. Thats how it is suppost to be!

We were visiting Hamburg from Baden-Württemberg for a few days and then ended up at “Baba” for dinner. We felt very welcome. Very nice owners and the food was good too. From now on it will become a tradition, whenever we are in Hamburg we will come here to eat. Kind regards and see you next time ☺️👋🏼

Sehr leckeres Essen, nette Mitarbeiter, tolle. Preis-Leistung. Wir waren hier gestern. Die veganen Dips waren der Hammer, aber auch die Lammwürste in Sesamsoße sowie die Köfte - mega. Und noch nie so einen leckeren Bohnensalat gegessen. Leider ist der Laden immer wenig besucht. Echt schade.

Es ist so ein tolles Lokal! Das Essen ist der Hammer und der Inhaber ist ein Schatz :) Es hat ein super persönliche Atmosphäre und wir fühlen uns jedes Mal sehr wohl.

Ich bewerte ja echt selten aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist der Hammer! Ich hatte den Lammburger mit Salat und Kartoffelspalten und dazu eine Mango-Ingwer-Zimt Schorle - total lecker und ausgefallen! Jedes Mal wenn ich in Hamburg bin ist Baba Azeitona ein MUSS!
