For us, the Grand Hotel & Spa is a very good address. We found the following to be excellent: Breakfast buffet with egg station, prosecco, coffee service, newspaper, table assignment, and everything you could wish for. Wellness area: very generously equipped. I've never seen such a large bio sauna. There are several infusions daily from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A sea salt scrub is offered free of charge. The full-body massage was very good. Bar: My husband had his best Mai Tai ever. I ordered a cocktail that wasn't on the menu and got it. In the bar, you can also order food from the bistro, which is served directly. Very attentive staff. Room: bright, spacious, and well-equipped. We especially liked the large bathroom with a bathtub. Currywurst and fries: very good, excellent value for money!

This was our first time at the Steinberger and we booked a studio. We found the price simply overpriced. The floors were very scratched, and there were dirt stains on the walls. Breakfast was an additional €24, and coffee cost €8.14. Parking was an additional €24 per day. The best part was the studio's private sauna. The cleaning staff was very friendly.

The room was pleasant and the breakfast quite good, but the staff, especially at reception and in the hotel bar, were unhelpful and unfriendly. The night receptionist, in particular, who doubts everything you say, shouldn't be working in customer service. I had to complain several times to get someone to come and fix an electrical fault that disabled all my outlets and locked me out of my room. I was here for work, but I definitely wouldn't come here for a vacation.

We stayed with our large dog for a week in August 2025 and would like to express our sincere gratitude to the entire team. The friendliness of each individual member of staff is particularly commendable. We felt very comfortable in our deluxe suite at Haus Bismarck and will definitely be back. We were particularly pleased with the "compensation" for a delayed breakfast service in our room. They provided a bottle of sparkling wine. Not necessary, but of course, something like that leaves a very good impression. It's easy for us to rave about you :-)

I had a question before my stay and tried calling the hotel. Unfortunately, the automated message is difficult to get through. I managed it twice. Once, I was asked to leave my number and be called back. Well, there was never a call back. The other time, the message asked me to write an email. Well, three, yes, exactly three! My emails went unanswered, and I'm a Platinum Member in the HRewards program! And the stay was okay: the location is nice, the breakfast restaurant was very crowded, and the rooms, unfortunately, didn't have good air conditioning. I had high expectations and was disappointed!

The hotel boasts a prime location; from the outside, the spa-style setting and the beautiful garden are impressive. The housekeeping is top-notch. In the sauna (they boast a spa where the indoor pool is a children's paddling pool), the infusion ceremonies scheduled for the evening hours sometimes don't take place. Instead, guests are offered the opportunity to make their own infusions (okay, but not in a 4.5* hotel). To receive the (admittedly pleasantly large) sauna towels, you receive a "towel card" upon check-in, and upon presentation of this card, you can obtain the towels at the spa reception. Unfortunately, apparently not all guests receive a towel card. Even if you do receive towels without a card, the question remains as to who gets one and who doesn't. Addendum: the infusion ceremony is great when it takes place. The loungers in the indoor relaxation area are super comfortable, and you can relax well when no one is playing catch. Unfortunately, not all sauna guests still adhere to the clearly posted signs regarding the textile-free zone. People wear swimsuits in the 90-degree sauna. The hotel can't be blamed for this, but in my opinion, they should regularly check and "regulate." The breakfast buffet is the "usual" fare. Unfortunately, the daily coffee and smoothie offer sometimes (not for everyone) seems a little lacking in commitment. One day, I waited 15 minutes in vain for my coffee. This lack of commitment is also evident in the bar and partially at the reception. Little things like placing the coffee cups with the handles facing to the right and not directly away from the guest when setting the breakfast table would have gone unmentioned if that were the only thing. The food in the restaurants also leaves much to be desired in terms of quality. (I chose the Caesar salad as a starter – unfortunately, the salad was completely drowned in dressing). The price-performance ratio isn't right here. Now, despite all its flaws, this hotel is the best in the Kaiserbäder. But in my opinion, that still doesn't justify the 'sloppiness'. I'll certainly come back sometime. Maybe it will be better then, maybe not. Now I also realize that there's a shortage of skilled workers everywhere and that you can't compare an owner-managed hotel with a Chinese global player, but in the end, the people involved on site make the difference. In every respect.

The Steigenberger Grandhotel & Spa is a very beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, very close to the beach in Heringsdorf on the island of Usedom. We've been coming to this hotel for several years, which, as far as I know, is also a 5-star hotel in addition to its "Grand Hotel" designation. Unfortunately, the hotel currently doesn't live up to this standard, although there are still some positive things to report (this will come at the end). The service at breakfast was the most disappointing. The staff seemed overwhelmed at times, sometimes untrained, and sometimes you had the feeling someone didn't even know where they were or hadn't slept very well the night before – their demeanor was correspondingly confused/chaotic. Often, you felt unseen, and at other times, you felt unwanted. Both are unacceptable. So, you started each day more or less annoyed. This urgently needs improvement. The service at the Waterfront Bistro was also unfortunately very impersonal and at times dismissive on the one evening we ate there. Another criticism is that communication with the hotel was difficult. An email with a few requests, which we sent before our stay, required two reminders before we received a response. No mention was made of the delay in the response. Returning calls was difficult due to the AI that now manages calls. The welcome/farewell at the reception desk could also be more cordial. No inquiries about whether you arrived safely or whether you enjoyed your stay. No small talk... although those are quick wins. But there are also bright spots. It's simply a beautiful hotel to move into. The furnishings are very good and of high quality. The hotel may be a bit dated, but we find the partly classic, partly maritime style timeless and fitting. The proximity to the Baltic Sea and the Alex beach bar are also a big plus. The bar has a friendly manager... when he's behind the bar, things are great. ;-) And of course, the hotel has an extensive, beautiful, and well-maintained spa area. So, we'll be back, that much in advance. But we also expect things to improve, and not just cut back on services and further deteriorate the quality of service. At least, we hope so. Otherwise, guests might be inclined to look for alternatives. Which we don't really want to do. Therefore, currently only 3 out of 5 stars. We'd like to give 4 or 5 stars next time. We'll see...

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel, at least not for the price, and it's not a 5-star hotel. The rooms are in need of renovation, and the staff aren't attentive (no shampoo in the shower, no fork at the place setting, etc.). The bar staff are reluctant to take orders and take at least 20-30 minutes for cocktails. We loved the location, but that's about it. We won't try it again.

Rooms are tastefully furnished. The garden is beautiful. We won't be coming back.

The hotel boasts a prime location and an appealing exterior – unfortunately, the positives end there. For a hotel of this category, the service and staff were a bitter disappointment. Even upon check-in, it became clear that there is no genuine service philosophy here. You don't feel like a welcome guest, but rather like an annoying supplicant. The staff seems unmotivated, uncoordinated, and unhelpful. The Waterfront Restaurant was in chaos: Four different waiters independently asked if we had ordered yet – yet nothing was delivered. The quality of the food was average at best and in no way commensurate with the price. The poor impression continued in the bar: inattentive service, unfriendly, and lacking in customer service. The breakfast was of good quality, but the service here, too, left much to be desired. Used dishes piled up on the tables, and no one cleared them. Guests had to take action themselves to even order drinks – waving guests were simply ignored. Check-out was the lowest point: Despite a daily parking fee of €25, the vehicle was not allowed to remain parked any longer on the day of departure. When asked about changing, the only solution was to use the restrooms in the lobby. The trainee at the reception claimed there were no changing rooms or lockers in the spa – instead of taking care of it, they simply sent guests there. The treatment of guests who asked for beach towels was also outrageous: "You should have brought some from home." In conclusion: This hotel in no way meets the standards of a 5-star hotel. The service is abysmal, the staff untrained and unfriendly, and the prices are disproportionate to the service provided. I would not recommend it.

An upscale hotel, but the staff doesn't meet the high standards. It was impossible to get a response to a booking inquiry regarding the location of the room. Despite availability, the guest's request could not be accommodated. It would be interesting to know whether the booked room with a sea view (direct or side) and balcony (with seating or a French balcony) is determined by a random roll upon arrival, or whether you have to draw lots. It's a shame, but luckily there are other hotels on Usedom.

Breakfast from 8:00 a.m., Director, honestly... that's not possible. When I asked at the reception, I was told: "Save personnel costs..." Minibars in rooms only on request... You are a grand hotel... Compare yourselves to the Leipzig Handelshof, also a grand hotel, also in the East... everything is picco bello, the car is parked, etc. Sorry, but the "grand" has to go... WE ALL HAPPY TO PAY FOR GOOD SERVICE, but not for breakfast from 8:00 a.m. And AI on the phone, on top of that, your competitors are building Hilton & Radisson hotels a few kilometers away!!!!! Right now, you should be saying to your valued employees (who are all top-notch): "Come on, guys, the competition is next door." But instead, they're cutting costs (which takes away the employee's motivation, by the way), and the Steigenberger family is getting even richer. They also have a company with 15 employees and know how things should work. In short, they're cutting costs in the wrong places... At least, that's the last time we were there... You know yourselves where you're good. Here's where you can improve: The rooms are old and could use some minor renovations. Peeling paint isn't pretty. The carpets everywhere are outdated. The rooms are unsuitable for allergy sufferers and completely out of place in the Lilienthal dining room. Your parking garage has a hefty price tag of €24 per night. Please use the proceeds to remove the bird infestation from there. The pools could be heated a bit more. The extractor hoods in the bathroom are unfortunately not very powerful. Some gin distributors were invited to promote their product. Unfortunately, their DJ made so much noise that even the spa area wasn't completely spared. Such actions are not worthy of your hotel. It seemed to me that not all employees were equally well trained. The older generations distinguished themselves with a high level of attentiveness and warmth. Some of the younger ones seemed a bit forgetful at times. If money is no object and Usedom is your destination, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a short break. I don't know whether the local competition is better or worse.

Unfortunately, our second stay took an unpleasant turn on the second night. When we requested allergy-friendly bedding for our fellow travelers before 6 p.m., it was never delivered. This led to an argument at midnight at the reception, during which the employee refused to help me, saying, "I don't have time and I have to settle the bill," "I'm new here," and "I won't deal with your problem; there's no solution now." Only after a 20-minute discussion did we, as the guest, search the hotel's storage area together to find allergy-friendly bedding. After a 30-minute search, we found it in the housekeeping storage area. As a result, I ended up making the bed myself in the middle of the night. When I expressed my displeasure at the reception the next day and asked for compensation, I was met with the bored and annoyed face of the reception manager, Ms. Knüppel. Only after repeated discussions was a solution sought. Ultimately, I was so disappointed by the staff and their attitude that I wouldn't want to return to this beautiful hotel under these conditions. There was no apology or understanding. I simply expect a little more for a hotel of this category.

It was a pleasure again!!! We highly recommend the hotel. The ambiance, service, and location are top-notch! The breakfast was a delight. The spa area with its large outdoor pool and sauna complex was a dream. Treatments such as massages, etc., were excellent. We had a room on the 5th floor with a French balcony and sea view. A Nespresso machine, a larger TV, and perhaps replacing the carpet with parquet flooring would be desirable in the rooms. We will be back soon for a break on our favorite island of Usedom.

This was my first time at this hotel and probably my last. The reception wasn't what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. The doorman was unfriendly, opinionated, looked at us strangely, and called out from the side, leaning on the reception desk, "Do you know how the parking garage works?" My partner then rightfully looked at him a bit irritated and said, "Uh, well, 5 years ago the doorman drove the cars down, but now I do it myself." "Oh, yeah, if you need help, just say so, and I'll do it." Pure overwhelm. Rolling his eyes, he then brought the luggage upstairs to the room. For context: We're talking about the so-called "top dog" in Heringsdorf, the only 5-star hotel, and the reception was certainly not a relaxed one. We complained several times about the lack of Wi-Fi in the room. Apparently, a technician was supposed to come, but that wasn't the case. We needed it to work. But no chance. You then had to work downstairs at the reception desk near the entrance to the restrooms. Regarding the service staff: When the waiter doesn't even understand what fried potatoes are and you need a translator, it's really difficult. The chef couldn't make fried potatoes at dinner either. The prices for the dishes are very high and unjustified. At breakfast, they only served the usual stuff: flavorless Maasdammer and Gouda cheese, and the orange juice tasted "out of date." We waited a full 30 minutes for coffee at breakfast, at 8:30 a.m., when it was still empty. Then it came with cow's milk, even though it was supposed to be oat milk. That also took another 10 minutes. At the bar, there were language barriers again... they didn't recognize the liqueur, and then half the bar was shouting, "Do you mean XYZ?" Extremely unpleasant. When I left, I reported the Wi-Fi problem, which was explained by the fact that the Wi-Fi on the island was generally very poor, and they didn't have fiber optics yet. Well, I don't know, but the next hotel (4 stars) has great internet access. But they can also make excuses for anything. It's a shame that we had to go through that experience there. Given the prices, I really would have expected something different. My partner has been there several times and said that everything has gone down a lot. Oh, and the parking garage charges €24 per night, but then they can't keep the wildlife out. They returned the car covered in shit. It looks great on the paint. I love animals, but I seriously wonder how they justify the parking prices there.

5-night stay in April. Sea view room on the top floor with a very nice view. Very good service: - Room wasn't ready when we arrived early at 11 a.m., but a visit to the spa area would have been possible. - Called when the room was ready. - Luggage was already in the room. - Smooth, quick check-in and check-out. - Room service was always there when we were at breakfast. - A dead battery in the safe was immediately replaced by the caretaker. - Breakfast staff were attentive, prompt, and impeccable. Overall, the room was very satisfactory. Bathroom with shower and bathtub, separate toilet. A capsule coffee machine would have been a nice upgrade to the coffee maker. The TV is outdated. Overall, breakfast was very good, but a little more variety from day to day would have been even nicer. It would have created an even greater wow factor for guests. A few small homemade highlights at the buffet, something you can still find in some other non-chain hotels. The spa area was very nice. Heated outdoor pool a dream.

I have known this hotel for over 10 years and we always come back there. The staff is consistently nice. Clean rooms, but some also have older fittings and carpets that should be renovated. The beds are comfortable in terms of the mattresses, we have already tried different rooms. However, the level of service in the rooms has decreased somewhat. It's probably more due to time pressure. In my opinion, the entrance needs to be changed Bicycles in the underground car park. That's rather inconvenient with the stairs there. The sauna area and the massages are perfect. Unfortunately, the beautiful cosmetic products that were available from around 2008-2022/23 are no longer available. Unfortunately these have been replaced. My daughter thinks the crab club is very, very good, both in terms of the support and inside it is very versatile. All in all, it's nice here.

The Steigenberger Hotel in Heringsdorf is highly recommended. We booked a reasonably priced package on the clear website to get to know the hotel, and were able to check into our room at lunchtime. We received a small upgrade with a view of the Baltic Sea. The room door opened, and the view past the comfortable beds onto the beach couldn't have begun better. The wellness area with two saunas, daily changing infusions, a steam bath, and the 20-meter-long, heated outdoor pool invite you to linger. The outstanding breakfast buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly prepared omelets rounds out the offerings. The hotel manager also personally greets his guests. This leaves nothing to be desired. Thank you very much for your hospitality and your affordable offer. Spa Card: With the spa card, you can use the buses on the island of Usedom to the Polish border free of charge. You can stroll for hours along the beach from the hotel. This way, you can also reach Świnoujście in Poland at a leisurely pace. The numerous cafés and restaurants also invite you to linger. The hotel currently offers two restaurants. Alternatively, we recommend the Brauhaus Heringsdorf. Parking is currently €24, or you can arrive by train and use the hotel's free shuttle service.

It's a shame, we always enjoyed staying at the Steigenberger and felt very comfortable there. However, we were extremely disappointed with our last visit. The fact that the rooms are in need of some renovation and the TV was a complete disaster is something we can live with. However, the fact that the rooms were not cleaned properly, the lights in the bathroom were broken, and the fixtures were covered in limescale is more critical. The icing on the cake, however, was breakfast. As paying guests, we had to stand in a long queue while breakfast guests from outside the hotel marched past us and were shown to their reserved tables. Very good, Steigenberger! It's not as if we didn't pay for breakfast! But when it comes to maximizing revenue, you apparently don't care about your paying hotel guests! On Saturday we stood in line for about 25 minutes, and on Sunday it was a record-breaking 20 minutes. Thank you for that! That's how you drive your hotel guests away. Thank you for many wonderful years, but we will avoid the Steigenberger Usedom in the future. There are other very nice hotels there that also go out of their way to accommodate their guests. PS: The outdoor pool could be warmer in November, considering it's advertised as "heated."

We have been visiting this hotel repeatedly for several years. First as a couple now with our children. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel is very child friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. The rooms in the palace are particularly suitable for families. Having your own sauna in the room is also a plus. The breakfast is rich and the little guests are always taken into consideration. When we had a problem booking our child during one of our stays, we were helped as quickly as possible and even offered a discount for our child. All in all service, location, rooms very good

UPDATE: My money has now been refunded after I used an alternative email address and apologized. ---- The hotel owes me money and is playing dead. The room we received did not correspond to the room description booked. I was promised a partial refund >in writing<. I've been chasing them since September - the hotel cannot be reached by phone and there has been no response to several emails. Otherwise a chic facility in the summer, albeit with signs of wear and tear on the room. Staff at breakfast were very friendly, reception was quite taciturn and overall the front desk doesn't seem to have enough staff for a hotel of this class.

I ended my second stay at the Steigenberger with mixed feelings - the location is great, the spa area is nice and the rooms are 'actually' extremely good. Unfortunately, the hotel has deteriorated in recent years, there are many small blemishes in the room (worn corners, corroding taps,...) all (just) small things, but in this price and star category I think it's hard to ignore them. The breakfast, which was exceptionally good for many years, shines with savings - everything is there, but the quality and selection no longer corresponds to the price segment. The service in the spa, at breakfast and in the bar was very courteous and friendly. A big compliment to the Asian staff, they were warm and really made you feel welcome. The first and last thing a guest notices, however, is the reception - we weren't asked how the stay was either. I also looked in vain for eye contact or a smile from the person I was talking to. Similar thing at check-in. Really a shame! Conclusion: Unfortunately, it makes you consider whether you want to book here again

***Very luxurious hotel with weaknesses in service*** We stayed in the hotel at the beginning of November for a long weekend in Heringsdorf. The hotel is in a top location close to the town center in the first row. The hotel complex is quite large and, in terms of location, offers everything a luxury-loving heart desires. The rooms, the wellness area, the breakfast room, etc. are all of a top standard. However, the service seems to be a construction site in the hotel. It's not universal, but it's annoying in one place or another. Here are some examples: We spent the first evening in the hotel's really attractive bar. Unfortunately, there were very few staff on duty that Friday evening. There was a young man in charge of our corner who, although extremely friendly, was obviously overwhelmed by the many orders. It wasn't enough to raise your hand when the waiter walked past to signal that you wanted to order something, but you had to apply a little more intensively for a drink. There is another way, as demonstrated by a colleague who was later employed and who obviously had the necessary all-round view. When we wanted to drink a cocktail in the bar the next day in the afternoon, the waitress told us that unfortunately that wasn't possible yet because the "real bartender" wouldn't come until later. Well, that was very honest information, but a bit strange for a five-star hotel. At breakfast on Saturday morning we apparently had bad luck with our breakfast room due to the hotel being full. Due to the high volume of people, the hotel had problems accommodating all the guests. So an additional room was set up where we could have breakfast. That would have been okay if the room had been decorated at least a little. Due to the very spartan furnishings, the breakfast unfortunately had a FDGB atmosphere. This obviously bothered other guests who we observed as they entered the converted dining room. In addition to the criticism, I would like to add that the events described are of course not a waste of time and I would like to see this as an indication. In a five-star hotel like this you expect more than in other hotels, especially in terms of service and ambience - after all, you pay a decent price for that. My conclusion is that the hotel can definitely be recommended - but the service problem urgently needs to be addressed.

I left the Steigenberger Hotel and Spa in Heringsdorf with mixed feelings. There are some highlights, but also some points that definitely need improvement. Positive: • Housekeeping: Kudos to the housekeeping team! The rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean – really great! 🙌🏻 • Egg station at breakfast: The omelette is by far the best I've ever had in a hotel - big compliments to the chef! Need for improvement: • Breakfast: The queue at breakfast with waiting times spoils the start of the day. This should be better organized. • Room facilities: There was no room service card in the room, which limits the comfort. • Reserved loungers in the spa area: It is annoying when other guests reserve beds and loungers with towels. The hotel should control this more. • The ventilation system in the relaxation room and the library was very loud - not really relaxing. • The smell of drains in the swimming area was unpleasant. • In the sauna the drinks were often empty and used cups were piled up - there is a lack of regular care here. • Luggage and parking service: There used to be a luggage service and valet parking, which is unfortunately no longer offered. At the same time, other guests park uncontrolled in the arrival parking spaces while you pay €24 per night - that leaves a bad impression. Feedback upon departure: Unfortunately no feedback was asked upon departure. Ms. Knüppel didn't address this, which I think is a shame because I would have liked to have shared my impressions in person. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean, but for a hotel of this category I would expect more service orientation in some areas.

I've been here before but my last visit was so disappointing. Heringsdorf is great and the area is beautiful. I love taking walks there during fall/winter. And then go to the SPA. But the sauna's are not even heated until three in. the afternoon. And the pools, which I loved, are soooo cold. I only got in to the knees and left. This was for sure my last visit since I don't need to spend that money for a cold spa. Plus, while the breakfast looks good it feels the quality of the food has also dropped e.g. the fruit salad tasted like it was processed and been cut a while back. All in all just disappointing.

In fact, the restaurant we wanted was closed and, contrary to the information on the homepage and the reception, the sauna only opens at 1 p.m. to save energy, which is quite modest for a luxury wellness hotel. This completely disrupted our daily planning on my husband's birthday of all days. What probably annoyed us the most was that the receptionist was very difficult to come up with an apology in response to our complaint. We would have expected a nice little gesture in the form of a voucher for the bar or something similar. Unfortunately, our expectations of a luxury wellness hotel were not met.

A really outstanding hotel, in my opinion! Starting with the reception. I had a disastrous journey by train (approx. 15 hours). At check-in you were greeted with a smile and you were able to forget the stress of the journey and immediately felt at home. The room was clean and modern and technically very well furnished. Only the carpet had a flaw in one place in the bathroom (a piece of carpet was missing) and the curtain was a little dirty, but you can ignore that. The bar has an excellent selection of drinks and spirits and the staff there know exactly what they are doing! Works very professionally and structured and is still very friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks in the Bistro & Bar lounge can only be praised. The staff throughout the hotel are extremely friendly, always have a smile and are very accommodating. When I borrowed a bike from the hotel for a day, but it had some defects, as it turned out later, they were really so accommodating and didn't charge me for the bike for the day! Respect and thank you very much! I will definitely be happy to come back and can only highly recommend this hotel with its excellent staff! Keep it up!!!

The hotel management is not willing to deal with such incidents adequately: we were told that as guests we should simply accept the behavior - not even an apology was given. There is no interest in customer loyalty here. The car park is not under video surveillance - so take good care of yourself and your car! I won't go into anything else like the pool being way too cold (despite promises to the contrary). It's a shame, theoretically the house would have a lot of potential if it were managed differently.

It was our first time in your house and we were disappointed. We had a great room in the main building, where unfortunately you could hear the ventilation on the roof 24/7. The mattress was a catastrophe, a thin, cheap version with no sleeping comfort, the duvet was thick and heavy. The toilet bowl was dirty because it was The "outlet" hasn't been cleaned for a long time, the sink fitting has become calcified. None of the reception staff have a 5-star level, the words "gladly", "of course" can't come out of my mouth. I had to go to the reception four times before an urgent problem was found The room was solved, even though we had called twice before. Communication with housekeeping doesn't work. There were no hoses in the steam room. Staff initially acted ignorantly (we're hearing this for the first time today), 24 hours. later d. Explained to guests that the hoses were ordered because they were broken. The water provided was constantly running out (or there were no clean cups) and you had to go to the front and let us know. There are only 2 towels per person, nothing more. The spa is also significantly too small for the number of guests, only 2 saunas + a steam bath. 5 showers. The women's sauna was not on. The children's bathing times are not adhered to and the staff do not point this out. Then why are they there? There were also no table tennis balls - they were ordered. Figures on the table football were broken. Why don't you change them? At breakfast there are waiting times for a table, then for setting up, for coffee, clearing up, etc. Here too, the staff's trained eye is missing. The smoothie I ordered came in a cup (!), the hot milk in the teapot (!). Unfortunately the espresso didn't taste good either. The milk alternatives and vegan pastes deserve praise, but this should be standard for 4 stars and up. Unfortunately, the cheese was run-of-the-mill discount goods. There was nothing regional, except for the honey. The eggs come from free-range farming (any questions?), the scrambled eggs from a tetra pack. There is only a single pepper mill and a salt mill at the egg station. In other hotels they are on the table as standard. The breakfast is okay, nothing more. And yes, as already mentioned in other reviews: the bottle of water, which can be purchased in the supermarket for 85ct, costs 10 euros in the hotel. This is simply outrageous. The hotel has massive deficits in service and the quality of the breakfast. And no, not everything can be excused with a lack of staff or a lack of language skills among the existing staff. Other houses have this problem too. The fish always stinks from the head. It's a shame especially about the price you pay for so much self-celebrated mediocrity.

At first we were super satisfied all in all. The spa area is excellent and the staff there is also absolutely accommodating. However, when it comes to the service and especially the night service, it is unfortunately the complete opposite. We ordered room service late in the evening, you could choose between three dishes online, tomato mozzarella sandwich for €18, a soup for €16, caesar salad for €19 plus topping for an additional charge. When we called to order, the request for a salad with chicken was stated: "At night only without topping", okay, we'll take it anyway. But what we got in our room was absolute cheek! Simple green leaf salad with dressing for 19€ + the sandwich which consisted of two slices of toast, some tomato + cheese & pesto + room service charge of 10€ is a total of 47€. I'm really wondering, as someone who is an expert myself, who is being taken for a ride here. When we asked on the phone, the lady became so loud, didn't let us have a word and was so unfriendly that we had to end the call and hang up immediately. very very sad. The salad is even advertised as having parmesan & croutons. Rarely have we seen staff as bad, unpleasant and incapable of criticism as here. Generally price performance, especially in terms of food, just a little above what it actually is.

We were there from October 25th to October 27th. accommodated in a family studio, but only because we had to. There was no option to book just one room, even if it would have been no problem as a family affair to share a large bed with your own child. In other words, for our child we HAD to pay an additional €290 for these two nights. We only had breakfast included in the price - that was unique and nothing was missing. Great - everything you can imagine. The rooms are large, well laid out, but not very clean. There were black edges in the grout lines in the shower, the daybeds/couch were stained and the floor was also stained. There was no concession and was actually completely ignored. The hotel is otherwise great - beautiful rooms, great reception hall, the bar looks great, great location. Actually right on the beach. The outdoor pool is great in the evening, but unfortunately it's too cold - the children's splash times were foreign to me - for that much money I can go into the pool with my child before breakfast. If you just want peace and quiet, you should check into an adults-only hotel. The spa area is great. Sauna area great. The prices at the bar are very high. Even for a cocktail, around €17-18 is too much, but the staff there are very, very nice. The prices in the restaurants are crazy too but that's just 5 stars. I expect that certain icing on the cake. All in all a great hotel, but getting old.

I have already been to the Steigenberger Grandhotel & Spa twice for work and have now gone on holiday there. It was simply fantastic! The food in all three in-house restaurants is excellent, and the service and friendliness of all the staff are first class. You can enjoy peace and relaxation in the beautiful spa/sauna area. A special highlight was Michael Wille's Tai Chi course. Although I had never done Tai Chi before, I quickly felt the relaxing effects of the flowing movements, which helped me relieve stress. The Steigenberger is highly recommended if you want to treat yourself to a break and enjoy some luxury. I was particularly impressed by the proximity to the sea, which you can even hear roaring. A big thank you to Carsten Willenbockel and his great team for this wonderfully relaxing vacation!

Yes, where do I start with a 5 star hotel you have certain expectations, for example that with a room price of 265 euros per night the parking space should only be included with breakfast and not be charged extra at 24 euros per day, that's quite a bit rude and if he doesn't even mention it when checking in. The breakfast, what should I write? It fills you up, but it's somehow nothing special. Some of it is carelessly prepared. The lady who prepares the eggs is listless and has difficulty hearing. The staff is otherwise very nice too. After a short time, the breakfast was no longer tasty and I would have liked a little more variety. However, the freshly squeezed orange juice was great. It would be untrue if I said the breakfast was bad, but that's more in line with a 4 star category. Checking in was a bit adventurous because an Asian woman at the reception didn't speak German very well. Although she was sweet and nice, she couldn't really convey the information, for example parking costs €24 per day. I can't say that the food was simply too expensive for me. Of course that's normal for a 5 star hotel, but I would have liked something on a budget or an all-inclusive offer, but that's complaining at a high level. It's the same thing with the rooms, the bed is super huge and comfortable, what more could you want, but the service and cleaning decreases day by day and that was a little surprising, as I said, in a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately, I can't understand why I was given a room at the back of the hotel without a sea view at this price and I can't really approve of it. That's exactly why I booked this hotel because it's right on the beach and then you get a room where you can see everything but no beach. Unfortunately that was disappointing. The spa area is very good and not that overcrowded, which I found to be absolutely outstanding and actually very pleasant. Conclusion: I would book it again, no, I don't think so, it's just too expensive for me for this line, you get a lot more from the competition. For a one-off visit if you don't have to worry about money, why not, but you should pay attention to what kind of room you get 😉

We were very satisfied and cannot understand the other criticisms at all! Of course it can take a while to check after the long October weekend, but there was also a lot going on on the road! The staff was very friendly and accommodating in every area, the hotel is large and luxurious, but the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. We had half board and ate exceptionally well, felt very comfortable and will definitely come back!

The rooms are spacious and worth the money. The hotel is well located, although in the second row compared to the Strandhotel Heringsdorf. Unfortunately, the staff is overwhelmed and not trained. They tend to be very young people and unskilled workers. The hotel is overlooked and the restaurants are too small. On a Saturday we had to queue for breakfast for 25 minutes. The queue for a table stretched from the counter to the elevators in the foyer. Check-out takes a full 1.5 hours. I believe that in a five-star hotel you pay extra for comfort and service. Having to wait everywhere and not being offered service unless you specifically ask feels uncomfortable.

Great service, great location and great breakfast. We especially remember Marcin and Emil positively. Great spa area. The prices are of course high, and the room cleaning was not sufficient for this class. The paternity fees of 24 euros are cheeky... I have to say that... I also almost deducted a star because the telephone availability doesn't even deserve a star! This definitely needs to be improved.

The underground car park is a complete disaster, the parking spaces are no longer sufficient for today's car dimensions. For example, box 120 you drive as close to the wall as possible to be able to get out. BUT THEN NO ONE CAN GET TO THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER. Just an example.

We were there as a family at the end of August. The service was a disaster for a 5 star hotel. Our child's food at the barbecue evening was forgotten, after asking 3 times it didn't come....for my birthday there was no white tablecloth at the breakfast table, just a candle and ugly wooden decorations. The staff argued in all areas. The reception was sometimes very unfriendly and moody, especially one lady in the evening who was probably not part of the reception staff but was there to do the billing. Our room view was towards the hotel exit, delivery and staff exit. That was unacceptable for over €400 a night. The food in the breakfast restaurant was otherwise very good, even in the evening. We didn't like the Thai restaurant. Unfortunately it was expensive and nothing special. The property itself is very beautiful and spacious. The childcare was also great. But we won't be coming back, we were very disappointed with the service.

I was there for a company event for a weekend. For me this is a very nice hotel. Very well maintained but a bit worn out. I think the room prices are excessive. Our room was very nice with a balcony and sea view. The bathroom is also nice but the door to the room is more like a closet door. I don't think this is an optimal solution. One evening we had dinner in the Lilienthal hotel restaurant. I had lobster soup. It was tasty but a bit over-seasoned. Main course a rump steak. I found the preparation here very questionable. It wasn't fried or grilled, but seemed like it had been cooked to core temperature in a convection oven and was ready. There was no roasted aroma whatsoever. But basically it tasted good. I would have expected more at these prices. The beer was very tasty :-) On the second evening there was a buffet for the whole company. But that really wasn't acceptable. It was just about cafeteria level. More or less not seasoned or salted, both of which were only available at the tables upon request. Unfortunately very disappointing. The breakfast was very solid, but I would have expected more. The service was very professional throughout. All wishes were implemented quickly and always in a very friendly manner.

We were the only guests there around 5:00 p.m. The ambiance is modern and attractive, although some of the parasols could use a cleaning. We were served by three different waitresses – fortunately, we had plenty of time. We ordered tartar, fish soup, and pumpkin risotto, as well as two lemonades. In short: It generally looks nice, but the taste leaves something to be desired. Examples: The lemonades were decorated with fresh herbs and fruit, but the lemonade tasted like instant syrup diluted with water. The tartar left a strange pigment on the plate; the taste was unspectacular. The presentation, however, was very appealing. The fish soup was comparable. It tasted more like pea soup with dill and curry, decorated with large mussels and a whole king prawn. Beautiful image, disappointing taste. The pumpkin risotto tried to soften the previous disappointing experience. The risotto balls were delicious, and like the other dishes, the presentation was also good. Overall, the food was beautifully presented, with only a partially convincing taste for the price. It seems like a perfect place, both beautiful outside and inside... We couldn't help feeling like we were in a tourist trap and won't be returning. We wish other guests a more pleasant experience.

There seems to be some confusion about the opening hours. Google says it's from 1 p.m., but we came hungry, craving the pike-perch fillet with pumpkin puree. Guess what, the sign outside says it's open from 1 p.m. A phone call then revealed it's from 2 p.m. Apparently, they don't even know when they're opening.

The BBQ buffet was unfortunately not worth the price (I mean, €35 or €38 per person). Both the selection of side dishes and the quality of the grilled food (not fresh from the grill, but already grilled and then kept warm, and the steak was tough) fell well short of expectations.

We would give it 10 stars! Very friendly service, absolutely delicious food (two different starters, three different main courses, and a dessert), very good quality fish and meat. Child-friendly, with a separate children's menu, and dogs are welcome. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality. Important: Make a reservation in advance!
