We spent 5 days on vacation at the Steigenberger Hotel Heringsdorf in October and were very satisfied. The room is bright and friendly, comfortably furnished. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. A compliment on Breakfast buffet, everything is of very good quality. On our anniversary we were given a bottle of champagne and chocolate in our room. We would like to thank you again for this. Kind regards, Probst family

It was nice to be here again. After two and a half years it was that time again. Now for the fifth time. After this time saw a lot of new staff. But the guest's well-being remains the absolute focus here. The suite wasn't ready when we arrived, unfortunately there was no notification, but never mind. We had a great stay and would of course be happy to come back. Many thanks to the whole team.

***Very comfortable hotel with weaknesses in service*** We stayed here for a long weekend, at the beginning of November 2024. Overall, in my opinion, the hotel is good, but overall not worth five stars. The hardware – i.e. the location, the rooms, the facilities, the wellness area, the bar, etc. are all very high quality. The service, on the other hand, is already down a league. There are too few staff and some of them are clearly not qualified for a 5 star hotel. 2 examples: In the bar, where we sat from 8:30 p.m. to midnight, there were only 2 waiters in charge. Since the hotel was full, it took quite a long time before you could order. When orders were placed at the next table, our waiter had such tunnel vision that he managed to ignore our hands raised to order. That speaks for his focus but not for his training. To be fair, I also have to mention that a young woman who was in a very good mood was serving at the same time. Everything really worked very well for her. The next day we were in the bar at 3 p.m. and wanted to order a cocktail from the menu - the really nice waitress regretted not being able to deliver it because the "real" bartender wouldn't come until later. A small annoyance was that on Saturday morning we were put into a room for breakfast that didn't exactly have a five-star atmosphere. As the hotel was at full capacity this weekend, there appeared to be problems accommodating all guests at breakfast. Therefore, an additional room was equipped with tables and chairs to accommodate the rush. That would have been okay if the rooms had at least been pimped up to Steigenberger level with a little decoration, flowers or something else. Since that unfortunately didn't happen, it felt a bit like a dark staff canteen and of course the coziness was gone. As I said, on the whole the hotel is really very good and the criticism may come across as a bit harsh in the presentation. But I think it's better to address such things because then you can react to them. In addition, you can probably assume that in such a five-star bunker you can expect five stars in every respect - that's what you pay for. I would therefore like my criticism to be understood as a suggestion for improvements. The bottom line is a recommendation!👍

Modern and very nice hotel. Check-in goes smoothly and quickly. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was particularly impressive. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The staff everywhere is very courteous and friendly. The breakfast buffet is very extensive. There was nothing to complain about in terms of taste and the selection is fantastic. The wellness area is very nice, as is the pool. Unfortunately the fitness room is a joke. That's the only point of criticism. It is a great destination for a couple. Clear recommendation from us.

We were there from October 25th to October 27th. accommodated in a family studio, but only because we had to. There was no option to book just one room, even if it would have been no problem as a family affair to share a large bed with your own child. In other words, for our child we HAD to pay an additional €290 for these two nights. We only had breakfast included in the price - that was unique and nothing was missing. Great - everything you can imagine. The rooms are large, well laid out, but not very clean. There were black edges in the grout lines in the shower, the daybeds/couch were stained and the floor was also stained. There was no concession and was actually completely ignored. The hotel is otherwise great - beautiful rooms, great reception hall, the bar looks great, great location. Actually right on the beach. The outdoor pool is great in the evening, but unfortunately it's too cold - the children's splash times were foreign to me - for that much money I can go into the pool with my child before breakfast. If you just want peace and quiet, you should check into an adults-only hotel. The spa area is great. Sauna area great. The prices at the bar are very high. Even for a cocktail, around €17-18 is too much, but the staff there are very, very nice. The prices in the restaurants are crazy too but that's just 5 stars. I expect that certain icing on the cake. All in all a great hotel, but getting old.

A really great hotel in the top segment. It couldn't be better in terms of location, service and ambience. There is only a deduction because there was no TV in the guest room in the Penthouse Suite. That should be possible in the top class. But all in all you can say that things can hardly get any better on Usedom. We also used the pools and they were really pleasant and not overcrowded.

First and last visit, absolutely no recommendation! 5* not justified, no daily room cleaning, stupid answer from the receptionist: if you stay for 3 days there is no cleaning every day, hair remained on the floor, coffee cup was left used on the table, beds were simply made untidy, as if you had been tricked again, none Trace of luxury, there are more recommendable 4* hotels nearby, deluxe rooms with a view of the backyard, no flair, walk-through rooms! A no go if I'm not traveling as a family.

I have already been to the Steigenberger Grandhotel & Spa twice for work and have now gone on holiday there. It was simply fantastic! The food in all three in-house restaurants is excellent, and the service and friendliness of all the staff are first class. You can enjoy peace and relaxation in the beautiful spa/sauna area. A special highlight was Michael Wille's Tai Chi course. Although I had never done Tai Chi before, I quickly felt the relaxing effects of the flowing movements, which helped me relieve stress. The Steigenberger is highly recommended if you want to treat yourself to a break and enjoy some luxury. I was particularly impressed by the proximity to the sea, which you can even hear roaring. A big thank you to Carsten Willenbockel and his great team for this wonderfully relaxing vacation!

It no longer deserves the stars and the name Steigenberger: We have been here several times for a weekend trip in the last few years. The quality has decreased significantly. Now there are too few staff who are poorly trained and hopelessly overwhelmed. We recently had a query about booking. Emails are not answered and no one can be reached by phone for weeks (!). Actually good basic conditions with location and facilities, but overall not worth a vacation.

We stayed in this excellent hotel for a week. We received a room upgrade in the main building at no extra charge. Suite, breakfast and SPA area great class. The location right on the Baltic Sea too. The employees were extremely friendly at all times. Special thanks to the hotel director, Mr. Willenbockel, for the 3-hour tour of Heringsdorf with many anecdotes and historical backgrounds. We'd love to come back.

The lack of employees with well-trained specialists is clearly noticeable here. * Reception: apart from 2 (long-established employees) a complete disaster, * Bar: the bar staff in the evening with friendly Vietnamese, but technically forgettable. You won't be noticed at the back of the fireplace! * The rooms urgently need a makeover. * It also gives the impression that guests with dogs get the not so nice rooms, despite “Platinum” status… * Sauna infusions listless and monotonous * Housekeeping - hush hush and not thorough at all * Breakfast - some temporary staff are clearly overwhelmed We were here for the 5th time now. The prices have risen significantly, but the service has become significantly worse in all areas. We're giving this house another chance. Yes, where do I start with a 5 star hotel you have certain expectations, for example that with a room price of 265 euros per night the parking space should only be included with breakfast and not be charged extra at 24 euros per day, that's quite a bit rude and if he doesn't even mention it when checking in. The breakfast, what should I write? It fills you up, but it's somehow nothing special. Some of it is carelessly prepared. The lady who prepares the eggs is listless and has difficulty hearing. The staff is otherwise very nice too. The hotel as a whole is of course great with the location and it would be a lie if you didn't feel comfortable there, but you don't get the right holiday effect there. After a short time, the breakfast was no longer tasty and I would have liked a little more variety. However, the freshly squeezed orange juice was great. It would be untrue if I said the breakfast was bad, but that's more in line with a 4 star category. Checking in was a bit adventurous because an Asian woman at the reception didn't speak German very well. Although she was sweet and nice, she couldn't really convey the information, for example parking costs €24 per day. I can't say that the food was simply too expensive for me. Of course that's normal for a 5 star hotel, but I would have liked something on a budget or an all-inclusive offer, but that's complaining at a high level. It's the same thing with the rooms, the bed is super huge and comfortable, what more could you want, but the service and cleaning decreases day by day and that was a little surprising, as I said, in a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately, I can't understand why I was given a room at the back of the hotel without a sea view at this price and I can't really approve of it. That's exactly why I booked this hotel because it's right on the beach and then you get a room where you can see everything but no beach. Unfortunately that was disappointing. The spa area is very good and not that overcrowded, which I found to be absolutely outstanding and actually very pleasant. Conclusion: I would book it again, no, I don't think so, it's just too expensive for me for this line, you get a lot more from the competition. For a one-off visit if you don't have to worry about money, why not, but you should pay attention to what kind of room you get 😉

We were very satisfied and cannot understand the other criticisms at all! Of course it can take a while to check after the long October weekend, but there was also a lot going on on the road! The staff was very friendly and accommodating in every area, the hotel is large and luxurious, but the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. We had half board and ate exceptionally well, felt very comfortable and will definitely come back!

The rooms are spacious and worth the money. The hotel is well located, although in the second row compared to the Strandhotel Heringsdorf. Unfortunately, the staff is overwhelmed and not trained. They tend to be very young people and unskilled workers. The hotel is overlooked and the restaurants are too small. On a Saturday we had to queue for breakfast for 25 minutes. The queue for a table stretched from the counter to the elevators in the foyer. Check-out takes a full 1.5 hours. I believe that in a five-star hotel you pay extra for comfort and service. Having to wait everywhere and not being offered service unless you specifically ask feels uncomfortable.

The prices are of course high, and the room cleaning was not sufficient for this class. The paternity fees of 24 euros are cheeky... I have to say that... I also almost deducted a star because the telephone availability doesn't even deserve a star! This definitely needs to be improved.

The underground car park is a complete disaster, the parking spaces are no longer sufficient for today's car dimensions. For example, box 120 you drive as close to the wall as possible to be able to get out. BUT THEN NO ONE CAN GET TO THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER. Just an example.

We were there as a family at the end of August. The service was a disaster for a 5 star hotel. Our child's food at the barbecue evening was forgotten, after asking 3 times it didn't come....for my birthday there was no white tablecloth at the breakfast table, just a candle and ugly wooden decorations. The staff argued in all areas. The reception was sometimes very unfriendly and moody, especially one lady in the evening who was probably not part of the reception staff but was there to do the billing. Our room view was towards the hotel exit, delivery and staff exit. That was unacceptable for over €400 a night. The food in the breakfast restaurant was otherwise very good, even in the evening. We didn't like the Thai restaurant. Unfortunately it was expensive and nothing special. The property itself is very beautiful and spacious. The childcare was also great. But we won't be coming back, we were very disappointed with the service.

I was there for a company event for a weekend. For me this is a very nice hotel. Very well maintained but a bit worn out. I think the room prices are excessive. Our room was very nice with a balcony and sea view. The bathroom is also nice but the door to the room is more like a closet door. I don't think this is an optimal solution. One evening we had dinner in the Lilienthal hotel restaurant. I had lobster soup. It was tasty but a bit over-seasoned. Main course a rump steak. I found the preparation here very questionable. It wasn't fried or grilled, but seemed like it had been cooked to core temperature in a convection oven and was ready. There was no roasted aroma whatsoever. But basically it tasted good. I would have expected more at these prices. The beer was very tasty :-) On the second evening there was a buffet for the whole company. But that really wasn't acceptable. It was just about cafeteria level. More or less not seasoned or salted, both of which were only available at the tables upon request. Unfortunately very disappointing. The breakfast was very solid, but I would have expected more. The service was very professional throughout. All wishes were implemented quickly and always in a very friendly manner.

We spent a weekend here. In my opinion the price-performance ratio is not right. The spa area is great, the rooms are very spacious, but there are far too many staff who don't always know what to do. We always travel with a dog and also had a “dog room”. But you don't see this in cheaper hotels; here it was clearly visible in the stains in the carpet. A 0.2 cola for €5 is quite an announcement. Overall, I have visited much better hotels for half the price. I will no longer book a Steigenberger.

Rooms were currently available according to the booking portal. In order to ask questions about the parking space, we tried to contact you. Unfortunately this was not possible! The email sent yesterday afternoon remained unanswered and the numerous calls (approx. 10 attempts at different times yesterday and today) were not answered. Unbelievable and very unfortunate! We have now found and booked another high-quality hotel on the Baltic Sea.

I was there with my husband for the third time from September 1st to September 4th and unfortunately we had to realize that it no longer corresponds to 5 stars. Service is very bad, you wait a long time for coffee at breakfast. As a guest you are asked for your date of birth and are then ignored, which is a shame and doesn't correspond to a 5 star hotel. My husband mentioned this at the reception and there wasn't even an apology. Twice we stood in front of our room and the key didn't work, so we went back to reception, yes we have a system change, which is very incomprehensible for the guest. Unfortunately the prices do not correspond to the service. At the pool bar the service person didn't even know what the drinks were and the order didn't even work the third time. Sorry, that's not possible in a 5 star grand hotel. Unfortunately we can no longer recommend the hotel.

Overall a very nice hotel with excellent staff (except in the spa). The spa area and the room receive two small points of criticism. Note: We were there in high season Spa: Only a fraction of the advertised treatments could be offered because there were no staff there. A lady was placed at reception in the spa who couldn't give us any information and was overwhelmed. We were also charged twice for an application. Room: there was no air conditioning but a cooling ceiling. At our time it was 22-24 degrees during the day. Unfortunately the cooling blanket didn't help and it was really stuffy in our place. We couldn't leave the window open because our balcony was directly above the main entrance. But overall a great hotel

The rooms are nicely decorated and the hotel and grounds are clean. However, the friendliness of the information leaves something to be desired. Simple questions were answered extremely harshly. When booking the three rooms for two people, we asked for rooms with a balcony because we are smokers. When asked whether smoking was allowed on the balcony, this was confirmed. Now it is the case that smoking is not allowed on the balconies. It was also not possible to order a coffee before 7:30 a.m. because breakfast doesn't start until 7:30 a.m. I have never experienced this in any other hotel. Here it should be possible to get a cup of coffee at least before 7:30 a.m. Despite the enormous price - which we paid for two nights - we agreed that due to the internal booking method, two of the three booked rooms would be exchanged with arriving guests during the stay. The guests are accommodating, but the hotel is not in terms of coffee/friendliness! That is extremely unfortunate!

The Steigenberger is a great hotel. The rooms are very nicely and comfortably furnished. We felt very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, it left nothing to be desired. You have the option of having an omelet made, for example. You could choose from different dishes for dinner. From starter to dessert. The hotel is located almost directly on the beach. Only the promenade separates it from the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were very satisfied and would happily recommend the hotel.

My husband and child stayed at the Steigenberger Grandhotel Usedom for a week during the Whitsun holidays. I couldn't go because of illness. For weeks I've been trying to get confirmation from reception for the travel cancellation insurance that I wasn't on vacation. I was written that they cannot find my booking in the system. Despite asking several times, I have not received any confirmation to date. This really disappoints me for such a renowned house.

We went to the “Waterfront” bistro, where we have been several times over the past 4 years. We found that prices have increased by around 40 percent, but quality has decreased by the same amount. The carpaccio cost €16.00!! and tasted like nothing because it was completely watered down. The main course, fish & chips, was so little that it took dessert to fill you up. Unfortunately overall just disappointing.

For me the first choice in Heringsdorf. Great service throughout the entire hotel, whether restaurants, breakfast, bar, Spar or pool. You don't notice the lack of staff. Again and again.

Actually a very nice hotel BUT: unfortunately my very expensive engagement ring disappeared after the room was cleaned. I put it on the table and then suddenly it wasn't there anymore. The ring had a high value. We searched everything, the ring has and remains missing. I'm incredibly sad about it. We then went straight to the reception, unfortunately the reaction was very relaxed. No sympathy, more like I can't take care of my things and also very unemotional, you would think it happens more often. When checking out there was no question about my loss. I really expect something different from a hotel like this. And I'm still shocked that something like this happens in such a good and expensive hotel. We also booked 3 rooms and were assured that they would all be next to each other. Of course they were far apart and spread over 2 floors. Annoyingly no excuse for this either.

What happened to this hotel!!! Dogs under the table in the breakfast room. Dogs under the table at dinner. Dogs even roam around the bar for a nightcap in the evening. Actually, you can now say Steigenberger Hundepension Heringsdorf. It's a shame about this beautiful hotel.

We have always been very at peace in recent years. Very nice beach hotel! However, this time we were a little disappointed. For a 5 star hotel, every detail counts, something that seems to have been lost sight of at the moment. The rooms were slightly worn out, with lots of marks on the walls. Spa had to close on Saturdays because there were technical problems, rooms had to be changed because there were problems with the sewage. The staff makes an effort, but they seem to lack experience in the 5 star hotel industry. But we hold on to the wonderful past stays and hope that the next stay will be 100% convincing again.

The Steigenberger on Usedom's best days are long behind it. Service impersonal, not courteous and sometimes very unfriendly. Rooms are OK, although the furnishings desperately need a refresh. WiFi only works in some parts of the room, which is unacceptable these days. The TV is so old that you wouldn't expect full HD, anything like Smart TV or the ability to connect a laptop for family movie nights. The breakfast is good but the waterfront and the bar are subterranean! How you can prepare a burger so poorly for such an outrageously high price remains a mystery to me. It's a shame but apart from the really nice location and the great logo of the hotel, I don't see any reason to book again.

Nice hotel with great rooms. It is very loud in the spa when there are a lot of children there. Although there are times for them, these are NOT required by the hotel. It's not a bad thing that there are children, but you should know that they can frolic in the water all day :) Unfortunately, some service employees (pol) are quite unpleasant to deal with. As if you had to apologize for being a guest.

We have been here several times and the service has deteriorated significantly in some areas. When the hotel is full, you notice that some of the staff are inexperienced or overwhelmed. Queuing and waiting for a table at breakfast is included. Coffee took 15 minutes. The breakfast itself is delicious and there is something for everyone. Unfortunately, everything depends on the appropriate staff. If there aren't enough employees, I can't fill the hotel up. Some rooms are now clearly worn out. Our minibar was really dirty, the heating didn't work and the room had seen better days. Unfortunately, 5 stars outside does not automatically mean 5 stars inside. I'm happy to pay a lot of money as long as the quality is good. Unfortunately, the price/performance doesn't suit us at the moment. Very unfortunate. If you have any complaints at the reception, you can tell that the staff is completely overwhelmed. There is currently a lot of room for improvement here.

The Steigenberger Grand Hotel and Spa leaves nothing to be desired. We have been guests here several times since 2012 and have never had the slightest complaint about the rooms/studios. Everything - right down to the hotel linen (table linen, towels, bathrobes, etc.) - as well as the furnishings in the rooms meet the highest standards and are kept in tip-top order by the housekeeping team. The entire spa area is a very well-kept and beautifully equipped oasis of well-being and leaves nothing to be desired. The reception by the employees at the reception offers a warm welcome, the breakfast team actually deserves a sixth star for the professional and friendly service. In our opinion, the situation is different with the hotel's gastronomic offerings. The “Lilienthal” was closed all evening, the Thai restaurant was closed on Sundays and Mondays, so the only option was the Waterfront Bistro. At best, you can enjoy home-style cooking there at high prices, but here you don't seem to be following any paths that are in line with the times. A burger for €28, a simple Caesar salad with a little add on of your choice between €30 and €35 ​​are already out of the very expensive category, but a small mineral water (0.25 l) for €5 ,— leaves you speechless, On the other hand, the 0.75 l for € 10 is almost a bargain. It is particularly annoying when the bistro team is unable to make a table reservation at the guest's desired time, but then - as the staff wishes - you are still sitting in a bistro at the actual desired time is not even half full/reserved. After dinner we go to the Delbrück Bar for a little nightcap to enjoy a gin / bitter lemon with a slice of cucumber and a splash of lemon juice for the proud price of € 17. Here too: yawning emptiness. Certainly the pricing will not leave any hotel guest in distress, but there is no relationship between price and performance; Our impression was confirmed in conversations with other guests. Dear Mr. Willenbockel, we understand the price increases caused by the pandemic and the energy crisis, along with the shortage of skilled workers, and we appreciate your enthusiasm and also the success with which you manage the company and hold together a friendly and competent team, Definitely worth it, thank you very much for that, despite a small complaint, we will definitely come back and still give it full marks with 5 stars.

The hotel and the rooms are very nice The food in the waterfront restaurant was full of Viennese schnitzel with bacon potato salad, the potato salad was so hot that you burned your mouth, it was probably in the microwave for too long. The complaint was acknowledged and that was it. A pity!!!

Wir hatten 3 Nächte im Deluxe Zimmer inklusive Halbpension gebucht. Nach 2018 war das unser 2. Aufenthalt im Steigenberger Grandhotel Heringsdorf. Das Zimmer war im 2. OG nach vorne ausgerichtet. Die Ausstattung und die Sauberkeit des Zimmers waren super. Zur Anreise standen 2 kostenlose Mineralwasser im Zimmer, die Minibar war nicht befüllt. Es stand ein Wasserkocher im Zimmer, hier konnte löslicher Kaffee und Tee aufgebrüht werden. Das Badezimmer hatte eine Badewanne, eine separate Dusche und das WC war abgetrennt. Der Wellnessbereich ist gut, hier haben wir nichts vermisst. Einen Innenpool zum Schwimmen gibt es nicht, dafür einen Außenpool, mit 29 Grad. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist spitze und die Freundlichkeit der Servicekräfte ist top! Die Halbpension war nicht im Restaurant Lilienthal, sondern im Restaurant Waterfront. Hier wäre ein Hinweis bei der Buchung nett gewesen. Das Essen im Waterfront war gut und die Servicekräfte waren hier auch super freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Die Aufmerksamkeiten zum Geburtstag waren sehr nett, vielen lieben Dank dafür. Zum Schluss noch etwas Kritik: Für Vegetarier ist die Auswahl im Restaurant Waterfront sehr begrenzt und das in der heutigen Zeit. Eine Mail vor der Anreise, bezüglich größere Bademäntel und einem Nackenstützkissen wurde nicht beantwortet und bei der Anreise waren sie auch nicht im Zimmer. Nach einem Feedback per Mail wurden sie am nächsten Tag auf das Zimmer gelegt. Vor der Anreise konnte man per Mail angeben, ob eine Zimmerreinigung gewünscht wird, falls nicht erhält man einen 5,00€ Gutschein. Das hat überhaupt nicht geklappt. 2 mal ist ein Zimmermädchen gekommen und wollte das Zimmer reinigen und einen Gutschein haben wir auch nicht erhalten. Nach einem Hinweis bei der Bezahlung der Rechnung wurden 5,00€ von der Rechnung abgezogen. Die Idee finde ich super, müsste aber auf jeden fall besser umgetzt werden. Warum ich in der Rezeption mit Familie ..... angesprochen wurde, habe ich nicht verstanden. In der Anmeldung standen eindeutig 2 Nachnamen. Dies fand ich etwas befremdlich. 24,00€ für einen Tiefgaragenplatz sind ja wohl mittlerweile Standard im Hotel, finde ich aber wirklich etwas überteuert und das auch noch in der Nebensaison.
