Steakhouse Rodizio in Dortmund

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience today. I entered the restaurant to purchase gift certificates for several people for a larger sum. Although I am usually very patient and understand that they can be busy, I waited in vain for over 10 minutes without being approached. A waitress glanced over at me several times but continued chatting with other guests without making any attempt to approach me. Two other waiters walked past me multiple times. Out of respect, I didn't want to call out to anyone across the dining room and continued waiting. In the end, I wasted 10 minutes, lost a regular customer, and missed out on several potential new customers who would have been gained through the gift certificates. This makes me sad and, frankly, a little angry. Merry Christmas.

The food is truly excellent. The service is very patient and attentive. However, the ambiance is a drawback. Why? Time slots... really? Yes, understandable from management's perspective, but for a group wanting to have a proper drink after dinner... a definite no-go. Furthermore, it's far too hot (the ventilation is inadequate for so many people) and much too loud. Very crowded and cramped, again understandable from management's point of view, but ultimately, sometimes too much is simply too much.

THE GOOD: The food was average. I ordered a bacon burger with a mountain of fries. The burger, oddly enough, consisted of two small burgers. No idea why. THE BAD: Nervous atmosphere. The server wandered around aimlessly, talked loudly, and only brought the drinks after I asked several times. THE UGLY: Way too expensive. A bacon burger with fries cost over €20. A small Coke cost €3.90. I left almost €30 on the table.

Excellent lunch menu, great service and atmosphere

We were a party of four who went there in the evening without a reservation. The place was packed. After a short, moderate wait, we were greeted very warmly. We felt welcome right from the start, even in the waiting area at the bar. Despite the size of the restaurant, our table was very cozy and somewhat secluded. The atmosphere was pleasant. The drinks service was quick and consistently friendly. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, despite the restaurant being busy. Even with the usual wait for steaks, it was perfectly acceptable. My sirloin steak for €34.90 was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. The others were also very satisfied. The house Primitivo was excellent; I immediately treated myself to a second glass. I had heard from friends beforehand about supposedly arrogant and inattentive service. I can't confirm that at all. On the contrary, we experienced very attentive and professional service. All in all, a very successful evening. Absolutely nothing to complain about. We'll gladly come back.

Because of the waiter who, in front of everyone and witnesses, told a colleague not to order at the bar because he was getting drunk (in front of four witnesses), only ordered one beer to exonerate the waiter, just like I did myself, who ordered wine. Unbelievable! The head waiter... The food and drinks were good, but... no way, I will never set foot in that place again. I've traveled all over Germany, and this kind of thing is unacceptable.

The food, ambiance, and service were excellent. The only downside was that it was very crowded and we had to wait at least 30 minutes for our reserved table. There was even entertainment; two samba dancers livened things up.

We were in Dortmund for the Women's Handball World Championship and wanted to grab a decent bite to eat before the tournament started. Rodizio was the perfect place for that. We'd reserved a table the day before and arrived well in advance. A friendly welcome and communicative waiters with a good sense of humor – it was a great start. As a starter, we ordered carpaccio, which was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. For our main courses, we had filet mignon (one with béchamel sauce) with spinach and a baked potato, and Argentinian roast beef with a side salad. The meat was cooked to our liking (medium-rare) and seasoned perfectly. The spinach was an unusual choice with the filet, but it was so well-seasoned and prepared that we'll definitely be trying it at home. The ambiance was rustic and just right for a steakhouse. We'll definitely be back!

The ambiance is great... lots of wood, rustic tables, chairs, etc. We liked it. The service is attentive, quick, and friendly... all good. The food... well... My Stroganoff consisted of two sad little hemispheres of rice and a bit of meat lost in the tasteless sauce. My companion's hamburger was only medium-rare... The waiter's comment: "Our ground beef is so good you could eat it raw." Seriously, folks... poor quality food at exorbitant prices. My conclusion: No thanks.

Neither the location, nor the building, nor its exterior gives any indication of what awaits inside. It was probably a good thing I went in the dark. Inside, a top-notch meat restaurant! Superb service! Kudos. They were efficient, attentive, and quick, and every order, including all special requests, arrived exactly as ordered and to the correct person. Quite an achievement with 16 meals! The meat was cooked to perfection! Absolutely nothing to criticize. The price-performance ratio is perfect! Highly recommended.

Our Experience at the Steakhouse in Witten We visited the steakhouse as a couple and initially had a good impression of the restaurant's exterior. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and asked if we had a reservation. After declining, we were shown to a table. The menus were printed on very thick paper – however, many pages were worn, frayed, and in places, soiled. The drinks menu was also quite heavy. At around €45 per dish, the prices were in the upper-middle range. The food itself was also average in terms of taste. The Béarnaise sauce was the highlight for us and truly delicious. The Argentinian steak was okay, but not outstanding. We weren't contacted shortly after the food was served, especially regarding the doneness of the meat – we would have appreciated a quick check-in. During our meal, a staff member's phone rang nearby with an unpleasant ringtone, disrupting the atmosphere. When we asked for the bill, we were asked three times if we wanted to pay together – completely unnecessary, as we had already answered that question. Finally, the bill was placed on the table rather rudely, which significantly marred the overall impression of the visit. In conclusion: A restaurant with an appealing exterior, but with clear weaknesses in service and a menu that urgently needs updating.

The food was very good. The drinks were somehow... uninspired. If you like steak, this is the place for you. I had apple spritzer, which was pre-mixed bottled Astra beer, and I would have preferred a hand-mixed spritzer. We missed having a local Dortmund beer.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly in recent years. The food is still good, but the value for money isn't right. The price has roughly doubled in recent years. Furthermore, they try to fill tables three times a night. The service staff, including the manager, create a hectic and stressful atmosphere, so that a pleasant meal and a pleasant atmosphere are completely lost. It's a real shame.

A tip for service! If you're having a bad day, waiters should take the day off and stay home. Otherwise, the food was good.

Food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. But it also took forever to arrive (around 2h total from when our admittedly large group arrived). Service rating isn't against the actual service people, they were all great, but the food tool ages to arrive, even the appetizers.

Very snooty, unfriendly staff. I've never had such an unfounded, unfriendly, and snotty experience with waiters. When we came in, my partner and I asked if there was a free seat because we had called ahead and asked. Both employees looked at us and ignored us until one of them, after asking twice, said, "Just anywhere," in a somewhat unfriendly tone, and left. We then sat outside for a while, and when the drinks we wanted with our cigarettes didn't arrive, we wanted to sit inside and talked to the two employees who were standing outside. We asked again if it was okay to go inside and if they could perhaps take the light with us. He looked at us. There was no smile, and he first said to my partner, "I don't understand what you want from me now," and when he repeated himself and the situation was already a bit tense for him, the waiter said. Yes, they do have a candle in there. Afterwards, we ordered drinks, which, by the way, only arrived after two requests and an hour of waiting. Incidentally, I wanted to order a drink that apparently wasn't available in the restaurant, and I wasn't told that either. Everything was written down, and after an hour, when I asked again where the drinks were, he didn't say anything. He looked me straight in the face and said that the drink wasn't available at all. He asked again about all the drinks we'd ordered because he couldn't remember. When we wanted to order our steaks, the other waiter came over. The one who had initially been standing with the one who had already said so rudely, "Anywhere," when we asked for a free seat. And it started with his greeting. He acted like he was the greatest. We asked him several times for a recommendation and told him it was our first time there, and he kept beating around the bush, trying to belittle my partner and talk down to him. He treated us warmly, like the greatest steak expert, and simply made us feel like we didn't belong there at all, and I must say, we're a pretty good-looking couple.^^ The whole situation was just very uncomfortable and inappropriate, in our opinion. We've never experienced anything like this before. The steak was very tasty, but the rest, like the salad and the fries, looked more lifeless than at the last snack. The fries tasted like they'd been fried in old grease. We've always known that hospitality should come first, and you might even offer guests something as an appetizer beforehand, like some bread and olive oil or a small salad, but that varies from restaurant to restaurant. In my opinion, only one waiter was really friendly, and that was the gentleman who, I think, was of Russian origin. Although, as I said, the ambiance and the steak itself were really good. If we're very unlikely to come back, unfortunately.

Simply ridiculous; I have no idea why so many people love this place. The Bernaise sauce came from a packet. The waiter thought it was perfectly normal and emphasized that it was from Lucullus, as if that would make it better. This stuff was also poured over the snail appetizer. The meat was OK, but nothing special. Eating there once was enough for me, considering the price, it's a disgrace.

We only wanted to stay at the rodizio for about 30 minutes and have a drink, but not anything to eat, and we spontaneously dropped in since we were nearby. The waiter then informed us that we weren't welcome, but only if we also ordered something to eat. He then asked his manager, who then told us (even though she was standing 2 meters away from us) that we had to leave because guests who only wanted to drink but didn't eat were unwelcome. Even with a bit of decency and respect, the owner and the person in question could have said that. Well, the place was fairly empty, and there were plenty of free tables outside. We just wanted to have a cozy Coke and chat. Of course, we'll never go back to a place like that. If we were sent away like that, we certainly won't come back, even if we wanted to eat steak. You made a great impression 👍🏻

They haven't had a rodizio in years. A total disappointment. I paid almost €250, and we had to return the steaks twice; they were raw, even though we ordered them medium.

Today I went to the Rodizio Steakhouse. They offer a wide selection of high-quality meat dishes. It was really good. Everything tastes good here. The only criticism I would have regarding the food is that some dishes contain "flavor enhancers." That's a negative for me personally. The service is friendly, but I would have liked a bit more attention. You had to call the server for every little thing. The ambiance is dark but coolly decorated, which fits the mood.

Once upon a time WOW, now the taste has changed a lot, I'd better not go into detail!

I'd like to describe the only criticism I have with the help of a little analogy: If someone goes to a pizzeria and orders a pizza, the pizza chef says: "Pizza? No, we don't have any." But you're a pizzeria, right?

Visit on Friday: I was disappointed with my visit. The occasion was actually nice, but a waiter humiliated me for "ordering too much" – in public, with fewer side dishes even though I consciously wanted to eat more. That's not what you expect in a good restaurant, nor as a paying guest. I felt uncomfortable and humiliated by the behavior – and it overshadowed the entire evening. It's a shame, because the food itself was very good. But that's not how you treat guests. I will therefore not visit the restaurant again.

The decor was very dark, but the service was fast and good. Unfortunately, the various steaks weren't as ordered. They were all dry. The side dishes were delicious.

Very tasty, the steaks are prepared to perfection, and the staff is very attentive, only occasionally asking for further requests, even after sitting and chatting for three and a half hours. The interior is nice, but the decor is a bit dark. Outside, the industrial-area ambiance takes some getting used to, but that doesn't detract from the experience.

Best I've eaten in a long time if not THE BEST. Took a Rib-eye M/R (300g) which came on a plate that was so hot that the meat was cooked on it, so WOW! Very service-minded staff all the way! If you go to Dortmund you MUST visit this place! I promise you super good food and service. Fresh everywhere. And cool football shirts signed by world famous football players, next to the toilet.

The steakhouse served one of the juiciest and most flavorful Argentinian steaks I've ever eaten. The steak was served with a homemade barbecue sauce—although the meat was so good that I completely forgot about the sauce. The side dishes were solid, like you'd expect from other restaurants, but also very good. The service was excellent, true to the old-school philosophy: the customer is king—something you unfortunately rarely experience these days. The wine, in my case a Primitivo, paired perfectly with the steak and wonderfully rounded off the flavor experience. One small drawback regarding the ambience: It was very rustic, but you still felt comfortable. Conclusion: Despite a small drawback regarding the ambience, I can definitely recommend this steakhouse—especially for true steak lovers. I'd be happy to go back!!!

I've been to this steakhouse several times now and have been impressed every time. The steaks are cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. You can immediately tell that they use high-quality meat. The side dishes and sauces are also top-notch – especially the homemade peppercorn sauce and the sweet potato fries are a dream. The service was always friendly, attentive, and competent, without being intrusive. The ambiance is stylish, cozy, and ideal for a relaxed evening for two or with friends. If you're looking for a true steak experience, this is the place for you. I'll definitely be back!

Vor oder nach einem Spiel im fussläufig erreichbaren Stadion vom BVB eine gute Idee in diesen Restaurant einzukehren. Speis & Trank sind ein Genuss und merklich von waschechten Italienern zubereitet.

The steak was okay, but unfortunately we were served the most expensive red wine I've ever drunk - and it was really disappointing. The wine was completely over-aerated and only tasted sour and bitter. The service also left a lot to be desired: we had to wait a long time before anyone came to us. Overall a rather disappointing experience. Really a shame.

Not for Hartzer the shop that cattle hate. Four of us were there last night. Food is not wrong. Beer Starnberger Hell personally didn't convince me in terms of taste. Dies war unser 3. Besuch in diesem Restaurant, aber mit Sicherheit auch der letzte. Wir hatten reserviert, aber leider wurde uns nicht gesagt, dass an Ostern nur eine gekürzte Karte vorhanden ist. Da ich kein Fleisch esse, blieb mir nun nur der Lachs. Das war schon mal sehr schade. Der Kellner war äußerst unfreundlich und meine Nachfrage nach den sonst vorhandenen Calamaris wurde sofort äußerst barsch abgeschmettert. Eigentlich hätten wir da schon gehen sollen…. Meine Schwiegermutter entschied sich dann für die Vorspeisenscampis, die für den Preis ein absoluter Witz waren. Der Lachs war in Ordnung, aber der Steakteller meines Mannes war qualitativ wirklich schlecht. Als es dann ans Zahlen ging, wurde der Kellner plötzlich freundlicher und rang sich sogar ein Lächeln ab, welches aber ganz schnell wieder verschwand, als er nur 3,80 € Trinkgeld bekam.😂😂 Somit haben wir das Kapitel Rodizio für uns ad acta gelegt.

The restaurant was once again very busy. This is not least due to the consistently very good quality. We got a perfect steak with equally perfect side dishes. The service was excellent, nice, friendly and always a smile. All in all, it was a perfect meal with excellent service.

While we were still ordering the food, the drinks arrived. Food was also served relatively quickly. The meat was of excellent quality and taste. Side dishes were also 1a. All in all really great!

Zum Teil merkwürdige Kombinationen auf der Karte. Gemüse überhaupt nicht saisonal (TK). Fleischqualität gut, Atmosphäre etwas chaotisch. Total daneben ein fast ausschließlich grüner Beilagensalat, der für die Qualität VIEL zu teuer ist.

Unfortunately, my medium-rare rump steak was raw. After complaining, it came back hard on the outside and half-raw on the inside, and was smothered in gravy. My feedback to the waiter: "The fried potatoes were delicious." That was it, no further reaction. Still, I had a great time with my girls!
