Great ambience, very good quality meat, correspondingly expensive, but still acceptable value for money

Dear Rodizio Steakhouse, Instead of making up wild stories, just stick to the facts! We are aware of the opening times. And yes, we are even able to read a clock. It's not a good idea to portray customers as stupid. The review relates almost exclusively to our visit later in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the service staff walked past our table several times and left us sitting with our empty glasses for a full 25 minutes. Discreet hand signals were obviously ignored. After dinner we wanted to pay. The fact that the food didn't suit my taste, well, tastes are different. I've eaten much better steaks for my taste. Back to the desire to pay: Once again we were left sitting for around 20 minutes and obviously ignored. And no, the restaurant wasn't full and the staff wasn't overworked. Just a note before this objection comes up. The following correction regarding our visit at 11:30 a.m.: We were accompanied by a physically disabled old lady. We asked your service staff whether she could sit outside (terrace) for the 30 minutes until opening. A very harsh answer followed: We don't open until 12:00 p.m. (yes, no one disputed that!) and you weren't allowed to sit down there before then. One actually expected an 80-year-old lady to stand in front of the entrance for 30 minutes, even though she would not have disturbed anyone or prevented anyone from working on a seat on the terrace. We asked again in a friendly manner, believing that we had misperceived the situation. No, please wait outside (outside the terrace), was replied again. Your comment "You wouldn't want a customer like that on anyone" is subterranean and only underlines how arrogant you act. We eat out three to four times a week and know a lot of restaurants in Dortmund. I can hereby confirm that we are welcome guests in all other restaurants and receive a warm welcome there, which unfortunately I cannot say about your steakhouse. By the way, you can take criticism and, if it is justified (the reader can decide for himself), use it to improve. Wanting to silence critics straight away (your comment: "request for deletion submitted") once again proves that it is better to keep a distance from you (and your restaurant). As you mention, there are plenty of other restaurants. Hopefully one or two readers who might have wanted to visit you might also think so. After this description, my original assessment now follows, which you can certainly understand by now. --- original review --- Very unfriendly staff, also inattentive. You are just paying something, but you are not treated as a guest. Food is just average. In short: Rodizio is completely overrated. Thanks, two visits, there won't be a third.

Great restaurant. I haven't eaten such delicious fried potatoes in a long time. Steak was perfectly medium rare. The atmosphere and staff are simply great.

For me there is no better steak in the world. I've been invited to the supposedly best steakhouses in Rio de Janeiro, New York and Berlin (although not in more cities), but for me nothing comes close to the American Tenderloin at Rodizio. I was here for the first time as a teenager over 20 years ago with my father. Nowadays I treat myself to a steak with my widowed mother every now and then and have never been disappointed. The staff is super friendly and you've known their faces for years, which shows that things are going well behind the scenes too. The food is really great - but I really miss the self-service salad bar from before. Prices have risen sharply and feel like they have doubled. But for me, an excellent steak every now and then is worth it. I find the “new” interior a bit dark. It is difficult to eat here with older people, especially in winter, as you can stumble on the slightly uneven ground. The parking situation is very problematic. But there is also a fly in the ointment for which the restaurant cannot be blamed. The audience is mostly clownish. So you shouldn't be bothered by the fact that an above-average number of guests attach great importance to showing off with a loudly roaring Mercedes in the back parking lot where the restaurant is located, and then wearing (Gucci) track pants in the restaurant very loud heroic stories to tell oneself in the hope of being admired at the neighboring tables. But that was the case almost from the beginning and you should just try to sit in a quieter corner. For a meal with serious business partners, I would consider other restaurants. But for an excellent steak it is my absolute top recommendation!

Great taste. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is borderline - and the €30 per person paid in advance when making a reservation is also not hospitable. Plus: very small drinks (there were no large soft drinks) and mayo from plastic bags.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be!

Good restaurant with a very extensive menu, although some are very expensive. We all ate burgers here because the prices for the steaks were relatively high. The price gradations are a bit irritating. The 200g rump steak costs just under €29. Basically a “usual” price at first. However, according to the menu, only 100g more, i.e. 300g, means that the steak costs over €43?! The cheeseburger was very tasty and juicy. The fries were also as they should be. All in all, recommended if you don't mind the prices.

I ate there for the first time on the recommendation of my friend and was not disappointed. The food is very tasty and the steak is tender. Of course it's a little more expensive there, but the portions are big enough to fill you up (but of course dessert is always good). The spinach as a side dish was also particularly tasty. I would particularly like to praise the great and very attentive service.

The staff is friendly and attentive, and there are menus in English. We ate asparagus and garlic bread, rib eye steak and point steak, it was exactly what we wanted. If you like your meat rare, it is better to ask for medium-rare or rare, so it comes on a hot stone plate.

There's really nothing to complain about here. The Rodizio lives up to the name steakhouse. Food excellent, good portions too. Upscale amenities, but also upscale prices.

A top address in the steakhouse sector. Here you get the very best quality meat. The service is also absolutely exemplary. I can't remember the last time I had such good food and excellent service. The price-performance ratio is absolutely justified here. High society from business, politics and sport also meet here. And rightly so. Keep it up. Until the days and happiness come up

Everybody seemed rather happy with their dishes (meat, seafood). Most likely not the typical place to go to for vegetarian or vegan people. However, combining a few side dishes makes a complete and delicious dinner. The salads are very simple and leave room for improvement. Nice atmosphere, restaurant sufficiently staffed.

I wasn't served for almost half an hour even though it was relatively empty. I then left. Unfortunately it's not a lie and I think it's a shame. I was just forgotten.

Unfortunately I only have to give it 2 stars because we didn't come to eat. After the reception we had to wait over 15 minutes for a waiter to take our drinks. Several waiters were present and yet we were not served. We left the restaurant shortly afterwards. I would be happy to give the restaurant a second chance in the future. Addendum to the owner: But that happened in your restaurant. We were seated and given tickets. After about 15 no waiter contacted us or anything like that. Even guests who arrived after us were served beforehand. And don't tell us that we're younger just because you can't handle criticism. Now the store definitely doesn't deserve a second chance

We celebrated our daughter's wedding there on June 1st, 2024. The food was first class, but what I was most pleased with was the service. I have rarely experienced such courteous service. Always there, but never intrusive. We felt like very special guests and we would love to come back.

The food is excellent, the atmosphere is very nice. Unfortunately, the operator saves on training the staff, who sometimes seem very unprofessional. You wait a long time for your food, despite it being a weekday, and when serving the table, even laypeople notice things that the staff in the chip shop around the corner don't mess up. We weren't treated badly, but we weren't treated particularly well either. Too expensive for a meat joint with lousy parking in the middle of an industrial area between car dealerships. I had dinner there last Sunday with my wife and son. We have been there several times in the past, but this time, which was definitely the last time. My wife ordered a meal and told the waiter. Didn't write it down properly and just served me the menu with fries When I mentioned it, he offered to bring me fried potatoes, but I'm not a stupid circus clown. Wow, nothing else would do justice to the impressions. A very wonderfully coordinated and suitable ambience. The service was very good and the steak was on point and a real treat. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the meat, the overall food, the ambience and the service. Although it has to be said that it is not necessarily cheap. But when you go to a steakhouse, you actually know something like that beforehand.

All in all, a great steakhouse. Food top. But you also have to say that it is very, very expensive.

I've been to Ridzio a few times and I'll always be happy to go there again... The food is really tasty, the wines are really tasty, the waiters are quick, friendly and competent 😇👌 The atmosphere is inviting, cozy and warm...the armchairs are made of soft red velvet, you immediately feel comfortable and special 🥰 The prices are relative, depends on the priority 😊 For two prrsonen with starter, aperitif, main course with 300g tenderlon fillet and 500g ribeye steak, side dishes, bottle of red wine, bottle of water, dessert, nightcap paid a little over 200.00 euros. I'd love to go there again 😋

Ate here today with a group of friends. The service was really good, thank you! Delicious food, quality is served. Would eat there again next time. My recommendation is the Italian style hamburger. Price quality really good, keep it up.

One of the nicest steakhouses I've ever visited. The ambience is very nice. The lights are dimmed and appear inviting. There is a small minus in that the restaurant is very full and is usually fully booked. The prices are fair and the quality of the food is great. All the dishes we ordered were on point and tasted good. You'll get full too! The menu was extensive and the service was very friendly. I recommend visiting in the evening and preferably during the week. It definitely wasn't the last time!

Ambience very nice inside. Long waiting time for food. Food was ok, had three steaks, all three different degrees of doneness. although all should be medium. Gorgonzola sauce with the steak, but that was more like 4 cheeses out of a bag. 😅 Well, in terms of taste, I would still say it's solidly good. But nothing more. Unfortunately service is not well trained. If something is wrong, you should listen to what's going on and not run away in the middle of a sentence. We definitely won't be coming back.

I have been there two times. The first time was a pleasant experience. The second time unfortunately I felt quite uncomfortable. The place is well run but the crowd that congregates there is clearly deplorable. Degenerate people making derogatory and disparaging comments about women. It was like straight out of the gutter. Apart from that some of the customers were having some attitude issues and exhibited signs of aggression. The first time that I was there this thing was not obvious. That’s why we went again a second time. I understand that the proprietor can’t do much about that and that’s a pity. I will not be going back, though, due to the appalling behavior of the crowd. To be fair the joint itself is good, though.

We were in the restaurant today with 5 people. The service was very good and the food was also great. The ambience made the evening an experience. We will certainly be happy to come back.

It is unfortunate that I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Radizio restaurant on March 16, 2024. Our visit was entirely disappointing and left a bitter aftertaste. The highlight of our disappointment was the lack of politeness and professionalism on the part of the waiter. When we, a group of ten people, entered the restaurant, we were not only greeted unfriendly, but also treated inappropriately. The waiter spoke in a condescending manner, suggesting we bring our own food. While we understand that it is unusual to bring your own food to a restaurant, such a comment could have been made in a more respectful and compassionate manner. What was particularly disappointing was that we planned the visit to coincide with our friend's birthday and brought our own cake to celebrate the special occasion. While it is undeniable that we failed to provide advance notice, adequate communication from staff would have significantly helped defuse the incident. Despite our best efforts to remain polite and friendly, we felt disrespected by the waiter's derogatory tone and unfriendly attitude. This behavior shocked us deeply and significantly dampened our mood. Even though we paid for our drinks, we have decided that we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future. It is unfortunate that a promising opportunity to celebrate a special occasion was ruined by poor treatment from staff. Es ist bedauerlich, dass ich am 16.03.2024 eine äußerst unangenehme Erfahrung im Restaurant Radizio machen musste. Unser Besuch war durchweg enttäuschend und hinterließ einen bitteren Beigeschmack. Der Höhepunkt unserer Enttäuschung lag in der mangelnden Höflichkeit und Professionalität seitens des Kellners. Als wir, eine Gruppe von zehn Personen, das Restaurant betraten, wurden wir nicht nur unfreundlich begrüßt, sondern auch unangemessen behandelt. Der Kellner äußerte sich auf eine herablassende Art und Weise, indem er uns nahelegte, unser eigenes Essen mitzubringen. Zwar verstehen wir, dass es unüblich ist, eigene Speisen in ein Restaurant zu bringen, jedoch hätte eine solche Anmerkung auf eine respektvollere und einfühlsamere Weise erfolgen können. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass wir den Besuch anlässlich des Geburtstags unserer Freundin planten und einen eigenen Kuchen mitbrachten, um diesen besonderen Anlass zu feiern. Auch wenn es unbestreitbar ist, dass wir versäumt haben, dies im Voraus anzukündigen, hätte eine angemessene Kommunikation seitens des Personals erheblich dazu beigetragen, den Vorfall zu entschärfen. Trotz unserer Bemühungen, höflich und freundlich zu bleiben, fühlten wir uns durch den abwertenden Tonfall und die unfreundliche Haltung des Kellners missachtet. Dieses Verhalten schockierte uns zutiefst und trübte unsere Stimmung erheblich. Obwohl wir unsere Getränke bezahlt haben, haben wir entschieden, dass wir in Zukunft nicht mehr in dieses Restaurant zurückkehren werden. Es ist bedauerlich, dass eine vielversprechende Gelegenheit, einen besonderen Anlass zu feiern, durch die schlechte Behandlung seitens des Personals zunichte gemacht wurde. Very nice location with good food. There is a star deduction because I ordered medium well but received medium rare. Basically not tragic. However, at such a special steak restaurant, everything has to be perfect. 😉

We were there on a Tuesday evening. So the food there is excellent. The service wasn't that great. We were sent indoors to an extremely dark place. I asked several times for a brighter table, there were many free ones around. No reserved sign. Answer first: They are only 2, the other is all for 6 only. (That wasn't true at all, because when we left there were two people sitting at the brighter tables.) Now came the next answer: it's light outside, it's dark here, what should I do? Turn on the light!!! He couldn't help it. When I shone my cell phone flashlight to see the brown writing on the black card in the dark, he came at some point and asked what we wanted with an additional comment: "It doesn't bother anyone here that you shine the flashlight." BUT IT BOTHERED ME!" Eating in the dark was possible, when we wanted to pay we had to wait forever again, just like with our orders. When the waiter came, I told him that such behavior was unprofessional and intolerable. There were about 20 white pillows in the corner brightly illuminated in front of mirrors and none of us could see anything. The ceiling spotlights were at least 50% off and there was still a support beam between the weak light that came from the mirrors in our direction and where I was sitting. The waiter again just said: "I have a boss who gives us the instructions. I can't help it." That's my pump. If the chef leaves and looks for something else, I can only support that. Then the store could do what it deserves, namely CLOSED! Guys, clear things up, turn on the lights properly, don't lie to your customers, then things could work out. At least not like that, even if you brag that your store is fully booked on the weekends. Then there are probably only people inside who don't want to see anything or who just have a drink. Ergo: not again.

Ich war das erste Mal vor 3 Jahren hier essen, damals spontan, an einem Freitag Abend. Da war ich so begeistert von dem Essen und dem guten Service, dass ich hier unbedingt noch mal hin wollte. Jetzt habe ich es vor einem Stadionbesuch also in die Tat umgesetzt und wurde enttäuscht. 3 Wochen vor dem Termin habe ich bereits den Tisch reserviert. Als wir dann an besagten Tag ins Rodizio kamen, wurde uns gleich am Eingang schon gesteckt, dass die Reservierung nur begrenzt ist, weil unser Tisch bereits weiter versprochen wurde. Ok, also war beeilen angesagt, zumindest für uns… Hätten wir auch gerne, nur kamen die Kellner Ewigkeiten nicht herbei. Als wir dann endlich unsere Bestellung aufgegeben hatten dauerte es fast 1,5 Stunden bis wir die 2 Steaks am Tisch hatten. Mein 300 Gramm Rumpsteak kam nach der langen Wartezeit nur lauwarm, so dass die kühlschrankkalte Kräuterbutter darauf nicht mehr zerlaufen ist. Für dieses lauwarme, lieblose Stück Fleisch mit einer extra berechneten Ofenkartoffel aber komplett ohne Garnitur wurden am Ende stolze 50€ abgerufen. Bei meiner Begleitperson sah es ähnlich aus. Ich bin gerne bereit für gutes Essen auch mal mehr Geld auszugeben. Hier stimmte diesmal aber weder Service noch Qualität und Preis. Schade!
