Es war nicht das erste Mal, dass wir im Pfefferkorn am Markt gegessen haben. Bis heute war es sehr gut. Eine gut gemachte, gut-bürgerliche Küche. Heute waren wir bitter enttäuscht. Niemals Shakshuka bestellen - der Koch weiß leider nicht was das ist - einfach ein (zu Tode gebratenes) Ei auf Tomaten-Paprika-Mischung drauf gelegt. Das Ei war durch und schmeckte mir wie Ledersohle. In Zeiten mit freiem Internet kann man wohl vorher das Rezept googeln oder? Und Schnitzel von meinem Mann war auch nicht so gut. Schade. Wir werden nicht ein weiteres Mal riskieren hier zu essen.

Eines der besten Restaurants in Dortmund! Ich habe mehrere Spezialitäten probiert, und jede einzelne war köstlich. Auch der Kaffee war hervorragend. Großartiges Essen, ein wunderbares Ambiente und ein Erlebnis, das mich immer wieder zurückkehren lässt. :)

Erstklassige Küche auf jedem Niveau! Selbst die einfachsten Gerichte, wie das Kartoffelpüree werden hier optisch und geschmacklich perfekt in Szene gesetzt. Gepaart mit einem überaus herzlichen Service und mehr als fairen Preisen ist das Restaurant ein absolutes Muss. Ich möchte betonen, dass das Team seit Jahren durchweg seine Herzlichkeit beibehalten hat . Hier stimmt alles und andere sollten sich hier mal eine Scheibe von abschneiden.

Wir waren zu Zweit und haben uns Spargel bestellt mit Steak 18.05.2026 Der Kellner war sehr demotiviert. Er brachte das Essen und es tropfte von den Tellern runter. Er stellte es ab und ging und fragte nicht ob alles in Ordnung sei. Das Essen: Steak war schwarz Kartoffeln haben so schlwcht geschmeckt wie sie auf dem Bild aussehen. Als ich sagte, die Kartoffeln schmecken alt. Fragte der Kellner so unaufrichtig: ja echt? Es war leider schlecht.

Der beste mitarbeiter im laden ist boja Er ist der beste und super Respekt vor.

Großer Außenbereich auf dem Dortmunder Markt. Innen gemütlich rustikal. Gut bürgerliche Küche frisch zubereitet. Freundliche Mitarbeiter. Parkplätze in der Gegend gebührenpflichtig.

Wir sind immer wieder gerne im Pfefferkorn am Markt. Sehr leckeres Essen, besonders die Steaks sind top. Freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service und eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Bei gutem Wetter kann man auch draußen sitzen, was das Ganze noch schöner macht. Klare Empfehlung – wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir waren heute zum Essen dort. Ein gelangweilter unmotivierter Herr Celic bediente uns. Das Essen war nur lauwarm und nicht nett angerichtet. Das Ambiente auf dem alten Markt ist bis auf die vielen Bettler sehr schön. Zusammengefasst, kommen wir nicht wieder ‼️

Wir hatten für eine größere Gruppe reserviert, hat auch problemlos geklappt. Im Restaurant war es leider sehr warm, wir konnten allerdings ein Fenster kippen, sodass es einigermaßen ging. Allerdings fand ich es fast zu laut um sich normal unterhalten zu können. Hat mich etwas verwundert, da das Lokal kleinere, jeweils abgetrennte Bereiche hat. Das war etwas schade. Der Laden war nicht ganz voll, dennoch musste man wirklich lange auf Getränke und Speisen warten. Getränkeauswahl allerdings sehr umfangreich, bei den Speisen weniger - was ja aber eher positiv zu bewerten ist. Zu große Karten sind kein Qualitätsmerkmal wie wir wissen. Wir aßen Steaks und Burger, war richtig gut. Vielleicht kann das Restaurant an manchen Schrauben noch ein wenig nachbessern, wir kommen trotzdem gerne wieder.

Das Essen war eine Katastrophe, ich hatte Bratkartoffeln mit Sülze, die Bratkartoffeln waren matschig und an der Sülze war überhaupt kein Geschmack,nur Gelee mit Fleisch, noch nie so ein schlechtes Essen bekommen, komme nicht nochmal in dieses Restaurant

Das Essen war weit unter unseren Erwartungen. Der Kellner verlangte 50 % mehr für die Vorspeise. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Das Restaurant Pfefferkorn hat mich wirklich begeistert. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen sind groß. Der Service ist schnell und das Personal sehr freundlich. Außerdem ist das Restaurant sehr kinder- und tierfreundlich, was eine besonders angenehme Atmosphäre schafft. Ich kann Pfefferkorn auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Wir hatten einen ruhigen Platz im hinteren Bereich. Service war top, aber auch schon anders erlebt hier. Essen sehr gut, Steaks auf den Punkt. Ist halt etwas rustikal, aber dennoch mit Charme. Preise im oberen Bereich. War ein schöner Abend mit 5 Personen.

Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen hier. Das Restaurant hat eine gute Lage und auch die Preise sind sehr angemessen. Die Bedienung war wirklich sehr sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Selten von so einer sympathische Kellnerin bedient worden! Getränke und Essen kamen auch schnell. Das Essen war lecker, aber eher durchschnittlich. Trotzdem 5/5 Sterne, da es im gesamten passt! Beim nächsten Besuch werden wir wieder kommen.

Der Laden sah an für sich sehr gemütlich und einladend aus. Die Bedienung war in Ordnung und bemüht. Das Essen war jedoch absolut enttäuschend für uns. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt vorne und hinten nicht zusammen. Das Schnitel Wiener Art war ok. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Als wir allerdings das Schnitzel mit dem „Tagesgemüse“ gesehen haben, ist mir alles aus dem Gesicht gefallen. Das Gemüse kam entweder aus der Dose oder aus der Tiefkühltruhe, mit Frische hatte das jedenfalls nichts zu tun. Auch die Sauce ist nie im Leben selbstgemacht. Dafür braucht man nicht essen gehen - da ist jedes Essen Zuhause hochwertiger und vor allem günstiger!

Wir sind ohne Erwartungen dorthin gegangen und das Essen war einfach fantastisch. So ein gutes Schnitzel findet man in den Niederlanden nirgends. Es war wirklich unglaublich. Ich bin ziemlich wählerisch, was Essen angeht, aber dieses Restaurant hat mich echt überrascht. Ein super Start in unser Wochenende in Dortmund. Einziger Minuspunkt: Es war ziemlich warm drinnen. Ansonsten aber: Daumen hoch! 👌 Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn ich jemals wieder in Dortmund bin!

Schon beim Reinkommen spürt man die besondere Atmosphäre – eine gelungene Mischung aus rustikalem Ruhrpott-Charme und modernem, gemütlichem Ambiente. Ob für einen entspannten Abend mit Freunden, ein Treffen mit Kollegen oder eine kleine Feier: Hier fühlt man sich sofort wohl und willkommen. Das Essen überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Die Speisen sind frisch zubereitet, geschmacklich hervorragend abgestimmt und werden ansprechend serviert. Besonders die herzhaften, deftigen Gerichte passen perfekt zum Konzept des Hauses. Die Portionen sind großzügig, ohne dabei an Qualität einzubüßen. Man merkt einfach, dass hier Wert auf gute Zutaten und sorgfältige Zubereitung gelegt wird. Der Service ist ebenfalls erstklassig: aufmerksam, freundlich und immer mit einem Lächeln unterwegs. Auch bei gut besuchtem Haus bleibt das Team professionell und sorgt dafür, dass man sich rundum gut betreut fühlt. Insgesamt stimmt hier einfach alles – Atmosphäre, Qualität, Service und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Brinkhoff’s No.1 ist für mich eine klare 5-Sterne-Empfehlung und definitiv immer wieder einen Besuch wert!

Uriges Restaurant im Zentrum von Dortmund. Der Sevice war sehr schnell und freundlich. Essen war top. Die Einrichtung ist rustikal und besonders.

Wow. Selten so hervorragend Steak gegessen. Vorzüglich!!! Das Pfefferkorn ist kein billiges Restaurant, sondern zielt mit Preisen zwischen 20-50 Euro pro Person fürs Essen klar auf Menschen ab, die nicht jeden Euro umdrehen müssen. Dafür bekommt man eine sehr einladende Lokalität, in der sowohl Preis/Leistung als auch Ambiente und sehr freundliches Personal absolut stimmen. Wir waren an einem Spieltag der Champions League da, wo der Laden aus allen Nähten zu platzen drohte. Seit 35 Jahren bin ich sehr gerne im diese Lokal gewesen. Unter andere Gerichte war der Salat Teller mein Favorit, entweder mit Garnelen oder Lachs. Am 23.01.2026 war ich mit Familie wieder da und ein Salat Teller mit Lachs bestellt. Ich dachte ich bin in andere Lokal,total entäuscht. Die Zutaten waren nicht wie sonst,die Soße dünner,weislich, die Kräuter die sonst entscheiden für den Geschmack auch nicht mehr da.Die Lachs Stücke gepresst, gesalzen und hart,ungenießbar. Einfach billige wahre...warum so eine guten Rezept die über Jahre gut war ,kaputt gemacht haben,nur um zu sparen, dabei ist diese Gericht viel teuer geworden. Es ist eine Schande für die kulinarische Kultur. Das zählt heute nicht mehr,heute zehlt nur die Einnahme,leider...

Das Weihnachtsessen war eine Katastrophe. Viel zu voll, zu laut und unfreundlicher, überforderter Kellner. Das Essen war sehr mittelmäßig und teuer. Wir hatten den Tisch bis 20 Uhr reserviert und wurden um 19.40 Uhr gebeten zu gehen. Man könnte auch sagen, wir würden hinausgeworfen. Einige Kollegen bekamen noch nicht mal mehr ein Dessert.

We went to the restaurant for lunch one afternoon. The food wasn't anything special; we expected more. The salad was rather bland and simple, the main course was okay—the meat was well-cooked and tasty—but the vegetables weren't fresh but frozen, and the sauce didn't taste homemade. The dessert was delicious for both of us.

Delicious pilsner straight from the tap. It doesn't get any better than this. The lunch menu is highly recommended. Very attentive service.

They advertise high-quality steaks, but unfortunately, they don't have a hot stone. They have fish, but no fish knives. The food was unfortunately not good. The pike-perch was dry and the vegetables tasteless. The service and atmosphere are/were good. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend it. A shame.

I spontaneously went there for dinner today with my girlfriend. We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, and it was inedible. The schnitzel was far too thick and tough; we could barely cut it, let alone eat it. We were very disappointed and left the restaurant hungry, having paid a lot of money.

Today you completely missed the boat on the tip. The food was wrong, there was no second beer, and you also forgot the mayo with the fries.

All in all, it was okay… however, the canned mushrooms, which were clearly the ones I complained about, were vehemently "sold" as fresh. A real shame… a once truly good restaurant is veering towards becoming a mediocre tourist trap.

Just don't go there. Horrible service. We were only allowed to sit at the bar, even though there was plenty of room. The food didn't look very fresh either.

I can only advise against going there. We stood in the restaurant for almost five minutes without anyone greeting us or showing us to a table, even though the place wasn't even half full! The bartender noticed us out of the corner of his eye but preferred to play on his phone. The two waiters were also preoccupied with their own business. Absolutely outrageous! When we asked for a proper answer, we didn't get one at all! They didn't even stop or say anything like, "I'll be right with you," nothing! Back in the '90s, this was a good place, but now it's just an old-fashioned, run-down place with unfriendly staff. Keep doing things like this, and you'll soon have to close down because the customers will stay away, and rightly so!

Bad food and lousy service. Meat tenderloin chewing gum. Vegetables watery with brown sauce that was supposed to be bernaise. Never offered dessert or more and drinks.

We had a reservation for Christmas dinner at Pfefferkorn Dortmund today. Upon arrival, we asked for our table, but the waiter couldn't find it in the book. Only after flipping through the reservations did he locate it. We were told that our table was being prepared and that we should be patient. This process took over 15 minutes. Not a word of apology for forgetting our reservation—instead, they just carried on with everything else. On the positive side, we were able to order quickly! But when the individual dishes were served, I was shocked... The peas and carrots were served dry. The Béarnaise sauce was a packet hollandaise, the rösti were a store-bought add-on... My fried potatoes were soggy and not crispy... Canned corn, the plates carelessly prepared... A complete no-go! On a well-known cooking show, it wouldn't even have gotten 5 stars! Conclusion—never again! The food is not worth the money.

So much for sustainability! Plastic cutlery and plates. The bins were overflowing with cutlery. The kale with the sausage was great! But try cutting the sausage. The kale just runs off the plate to the left and right. Unacceptable for a brewery's regular haunt.

Waited a very long time for a very unremarkable meal. The schnitzel was okay. Side dishes and sauce were sparse. More of a place for drinks than anything else.

Unbelievable impudence! My 74-year-old father, who uses a walker, visited this local pub today (around 1:30 p.m.) to get a drink. He wanted to go to the bar. He was greeted by a female waitress in the entrance area. She indicated that there were no seats available at the bar and that he needed something to eat. Drinking alone was not possible. But in fact, there were several seats available at the bar. An absolute disgrace. This place is obviously doing too well if it doesn't want to take the small amount of money from pensioners. With reference to the closures of other branches, I remain yours sincerely and recommend, if you're just thirsty, to try Wenker's, the Alter Markt, or other pensioner-friendly locations.

These guys were super cooperative to providing a group of 14 a place to eat.

We always come to Pfefferkorn for lunch when we're in Dortmund. We've always managed to get a table (on Saturdays) – even without a reservation; it's usually pleasantly quiet. My tip: the beef fillet. It's as tender as butter and perfectly cooked! The sides like Béarnaise sauce, fries, and beans are also really good. The lunch menus are solid – nothing fancy, but tasty and fairly priced. I also have to give special praise to the staff: always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Even my Swiss wife always comments on how nice everyone is here – and that's saying something! 😄

The food was so-so. One suspects it was convenience food, in a very manageable size for the average eater. The service was sporadically limited. We were often left with nothing. My complaint about this situation was met with a very harsh and unfriendly response from the server.

Well, it didn't taste that good. Next time, I'd rather go to Burger King or McDonald's—it's simply more worthwhile.

Exceptional steak, the only small drawback was that they had reversed the side dishes.

We ate here today for our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, apart from the appetizer, it was an absolute, expensive disappointment! The first rump steak was well-done instead of medium and looked like a leftover piece. The second was medium but riddled with tendons and was very difficult to chew. If the same resolutions from Phoenix Lake apply to the market, then the kitchen seriously missed the mark today. Between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, several meals were returned. For €85 plus tip, you can expect something decent. If everything had been as good as the beef carpaccio, we would have had a lovely day.

I went there on a Friday evening. I ate a really large portion of fettuccine with chanterelle mushrooms and pork fillet, along with a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail and a double espresso macchiato to finish – all for around €40. I felt very comfortable and really well looked after. The service was very friendly and quick. The ambiance was really nice (we sat outside). It looked very cozy inside, too, but the great weather tempted us to go outside. I'd love to come back and will definitely return. Best regards P.S.: The espresso was excellent 👍

Lunch at Pfefferkorn: The food arrives so quickly you almost think the kitchen has clairvoyant abilities. The flavors are solid, nothing spectacular – but they're honest, good, and filling. The value for money is just right. When the weather's good, you can sit outside in the middle of the market, while inside, you'll find a high-quality, real-wood interior that's rarely found these days. Those who appreciate solid cuisine in a beautiful setting won't be disappointed here – those hoping for Michelin-starred gourmet fare should probably move on.

We've taken advantage of the lunch offer twice so far. The food and service were excellent. We also enjoyed our family Christmas celebration here. Great, and thanks to the entire team.

We had a councilman's schnitzel and a vegetarian schnitzel. My wife didn't like the vegetarian schnitzel. It was bland and underseasoned, and obviously a frozen product. My schnitzel had a sour taste. The carrots, peas, and beans were probably from a can. The fried potatoes were soft. Everything was lightly seasoned. When I asked, the waitress and the restaurant manager offered to bring me a new schnitzel. I declined, and my wife left most of it on her plate. The surprise: we didn't have to pay for our dishes when we paid. A very friendly and proper gesture.

Incredible meat quality. If you want to eat meat, this is the perfect place. The chefs know exactly the difference between medium rare and medium. A small downside are the fries, which aren't great. The best thing to order is these fabulous rösti.

Restaurant with plenty of outdoor tables. Very attentive and friendly staff. Good selection of food and drinks. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Dortmund.

Some of the fried potatoes were burnt. It took forever to bring four drinks, and after eating here, two out of four people had stomach problems. Never again!

After being left sitting and ignored for 10 minutes in an empty restaurant, the filet ordered medium rare is delivered well done, and a burger patty ordered medium is delivered extremely well done. Sorry, a 6- for a steakhouse! P.S. The same problem at the next table, so no exceptions.

The Pefferkorn am Markt restaurant has a lovely outdoor area where you can enjoy truly excellent food in the sunshine. We opted for an excellent schnitzel with fries and salad on a sunny day. The service was quick, friendly, and very funny. Everything was just perfect. If you're looking for good food in Dortmund's city center, you should try this place.

Das einzig gute an diesem Ort ist die Lage am Markt. Der Service ist unfreundlich und das Essen wirklich schlecht. Die Sauce kam aus der Mikrowelle und hatte eine Haut. Ansonsten hatte das Essen wenig Geschmack. Dazu fand ich noch ein Haar in meinem Essen. Als ich den Kellner darauf ansprach, reagierte dieser kaum, nannte mir nur den zu zahlenden Preis und entschuldigte sich nicht einmal. Absolut keine Empfehlung

The only good thing about this place is its location at the market. The service is unfriendly and the food is really bad. The sauce came from the microwave and had a skin on it. Otherwise, the food had little flavor. I also found a hair in my food. When I asked the server about it, he barely responded, just told me the price and didn't even apologize. Absolutely not a recommendation.

Our visit to Pfefferkorns No. 1 was a mixed experience. The positive aspects were the genuinely friendly service, the central location, and the modern and stylish decor in the new extension – you immediately feel at home here. Unfortunately, the culinary offerings were less convincing. The selection for vegetarians is very limited, which is rather disappointing these days. The quality of the food was okay, but by no means outstanding. At a total price of around 60 euros for simple dishes like pasta with tomato sauce, bruschetta, mozzarella sticks, a small tomato soup, a baked potato, and two small drinks, the value for money is unfortunately not right in our opinion. We still managed to find a seat as a group – the ambiance is good, but the food still has room for improvement.

We ended the last day of home games at Pfefferkorn's No. 1 on the market after the game because a nice spot in the sun was beckoning us and we really wanted a Brinkhoff's. I had the average reviews in mind, but I thought it wouldn't be that bad. Well, the beer and the sunny spot with a view of the lively, black and yellow market square were great. The food, however, was terrible – especially for the price. The schnitzel with frozen vegetables tasted reheated, the burger simply tasted of old cooking fat and was partially raw inside (not "medium"). The worst burger I've ever eaten (even compared to burgers in university cafeterias). The service was prompt, but also a bit complacent. In conclusion: a nice spot in nice weather, but (for me) only for drinks.

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Today I went to the Pfefferkorn in the city center with friends for the first time and definitely the last time. All but one person had the cheese burger. The brioche bun was cold and rock hard, the steak was lukewarm. The burger patties were very “mushy”. However, the service is even worse, the starter was forgotten. Can happen when it's full... When we gave our honest, yet friendly opinion about the food after the meal, it didn't go down well at all. No apology, I can't bring them anything else. Simply NOTHING! After that we were completely ignored. A really super bad service! And best regards to the waiter, who unfortunately didn't give the impression that he was interested at all, probably because of the many guests who were coming anyway. Sorry that, as a pregnant woman, I asked whether the beer was really 0.0 or “just” alcohol-free. There is a difference because unfortunately they didn't know Him. In the Pfefferkorn “Am Wall” and also at the Phönixsee, the food and service are much better and definitely recommended. Today we were obviously very unlucky with our choice of restaurant.

We were here today with our son (9 years old) and I would say: The Pfefferkorn has a new fan. The food was consistently good. Plaice, steak & liver. Everything perfect 👍🏻

Delicious food, not cheap but worth every cent, excellent service, very friendly. If we are here again, we will stop here 😉

Very good gastronomy. The food is delicious. The price/performance ratio is right. During peak times the service takes a little longer. The ambience is rustic, dark. You should pay attention to the (illuminated) steps. I'd love to come back.

Really great atmosphere and excellent service with enthusiasm and fun at work, quickly and with an "eye for the table" in case something is missing or wishes are unfulfilled. The food is also very tasty, but the portion sizes and the presentation of the food on the plate can still be improved considering the price.

Small portions at overpriced prices. In addition, the waitress ate the wisdom with spoons, which was a pure provocation in view of the guests.

The meat was very good, as was the side salad and the coffee. Everything else, unfortunately, was not. Even offering coffee doesn't help. And at lunch, the vegetarian main course is beef tortelloni 😅. Honestly, someone here isn't particularly good at what they do.

The place was completely packed with people. So, I was expecting a lot, only to be truly disappointed. The waiter seemed listless... After ordering food and drinks, it didn't take long for the waiter to bring the cold blonde beer. Unfortunately, it tasted a bit sour. Then the waiter brought the side salad. However, the plate was completely covered in fingerprints and red sauce. When I addressed this, he brought a new plate. This one wasn't much better, though. When the schnitzel arrived, I was a bit shocked. The schnitzel resembled a child's portion. The schnitzel also didn't taste like a schnitzel. The only tasty thing about the evening were the fries. I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

The meat was great, but the vegetables were just so-so... But the excellent service was really friendly and attentive. It was definitely a lovely evening.

Food was nothing...chanterelle cream sauce was white paste with 3 mushrooms...meat was ok...not recommended

The food was cold and I think it had been sitting there for a while because the potatoes were soggy. The meat was very unseasoned, and I didn't get decent service either. I'm very disappointed and wouldn't recommend it.

In any case. There are cozy corners, but also open areas. The team is friendly, fast and helpful.
