The food was excellent. I had the best ribs I've had in a long time, and my husband had a perfectly cooked rump steak. The side dishes were also delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. It wasn't crowded, the atmosphere was pleasant, and we even had a view of the large Dortmund Christmas tree. It was a worthwhile visit. The price was right, and we'll gladly come back!

Unfortunately, this place is not recommended. Everything took a long time. The food was actually good, but unfortunately not properly heated! The service was friendly, but everyone only looked out for themselves and their own area. Staff didn't support each other. The restaurant was almost empty, yet they were complaining about the large number of guests. In short, the price-performance ratio is not good.

Visited during the Christmas market times. Looking dor a place to eat and their menu looked promising. At the beginning we were helped by a awesome and super helpful guy who tried to understand my german ( I am dutch) and spoke pretty good english. Was helped to our table and that is where trouble began. Our waiter was a lady who was super grumpy and was very impatient. Did not give us much time to decide and gave us a unwelcome feeling. Also she did not speak a word of english which was unfortunate but is not something that i expected. When the food came our hamburger was cold and the woman seemed annoyed whenever we asked for things. All in all it was a bad experience primarily caused by this woman.

We waited a few minutes without a reservation, and then our meal began. The service was excellent, they were helpful with special requests, and the execution was top-notch. We got a table quickly, even though we didn't have a reservation. They should have mentioned that the table after us had two other reservations, so we had limited time. Because of this, we received our appetizer along with our starter. Our appetizer was barely finished, and one person's wasn't even finished before the main course arrived. The table was too small, so I had to sit on the corner of it. Due to the speed of service, we didn't order a bottle of red wine because we were still finishing our appetizer. The food itself was delicious and a success. The waiter was friendly until I politely told him it was good but too fast. We won't be back.

I ordered two 250g fillets, which I doubt was the correct weight... more like 180g. I also ordered onions... no more than in an egg cup. Salad... €8.90... Too expensive. I ordered sweet potato fries. One steak, which was supposed to be a fillet, was full of fat and sinew. I sent it back. I was given a new, small piece... after 15 minutes. In the meantime, my husband had finished eating... the fries were cold, and my remaining onions were missing from the new fillet. Very disappointed. Maredo in Saarbrücken wasn't great back then either.

I was a customer at Magedo in Dortmund and was personally treated in a disrespectful and condescending manner by the manager. Instead of being polite to customers, he made derogatory remarks and tried to belittle me. This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and demonstrates that respect and customer service are irrelevant there. What was particularly shocking was that during the conversation, he repeatedly emphasized that he was "Russian" and "the boss here," as if that gave him the right to insult others or put himself above them. This behavior was not only arrogant but also discriminatory. Even other guests noticed how unpleasant and disrespectful he was. Anyone who believes that power means belittling others only demonstrates that they lack true strength. Such people deserve neither trust nor respect. I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values ​​dignity, humanity, and professional interaction.

The visit to Maredo was truly worthwhile. We received a warm welcome from the very beginning, and I want to commend Marko (the waiter). Ramiz made the evening truly special with his friendly, polite, and attentive service. The Chateaubriand was perfectly cooked and of the highest quality. Be sure to order the hot stone to go with it. The cheesecake was also surprisingly good and a perfect ending. We were even allowed to bring our dog. All in all, a very successful visit to Maredo Dortmund.

We ordered our steaks medium and received them rare. After complaining, things didn't improve; the meat was still not perfectly cooked and of poor quality. I've never eaten such a bad steak in my life. The herb butter wasn't homemade, and the mac and cheese tasted bland. Not at all "spicy" as advertised on the menu. Only the grilled vegetables were okay. I don't understand the four-to-five-star reviews. We definitely won't be eating here again.

The staff was super nice and accommodating! The food wasn't impressive 😞 We usually eat at the Blockhaus. We thought it would be similar here. It was far from it. I had the 250g steak special. The meat was okay. The plate wasn't nicely presented. No steak seasoning, just plain pepper.... No other seasonings/sauces were served. My wife had the salad bowl. The croutons were apparently made from stale bread. The whole dish wasn't a hit.... What a shame.....

You shouldn't tell the owner what he wants to hear, because then he can't improve! Well, what can I say, I can only partially confirm the 4-5 star reviews from previous guests. The restaurant is very unimpressive from the outside, with guests being ripped off by lowlifes outside, which is further emphasized by the dreary interior. The pepper steak I ate, which was touted as a particular highlight, looked good to the eye, but you could describe it as stringy, the fries were bland, and the plates were relatively poorly presented... That's a different story! So a benevolent 2 stars for what I can judge (I didn't go to the restroom!) and the points I can award it. Service was OK, showed little interest in me as a guest, but whatever. When clearing away the table, the usual cliché: "Did you enjoy your meal?" I responded with, "Well, you can't expect miracles for a €25 steak, but it shouldn't be sinewy," and they politely ignored it. They gladly accepted the tip when paying, but... I didn't seem like a tourist, so a "come back soon" would certainly have been appropriate. Even a "did you like it?" certainly didn't come from their lips, despite the relative emptiness. In short, I think I can get better food elsewhere in a more comfortable atmosphere.

We came to Maredo spontaneously and just wanted to have a simple burger meal with fries, Ramiz sat us down and served us with our orders and it was great, the fries and burger were just tasty for what its worth. Ramiz our waiter was such a ball of joy coming checking on us and making us smile and laugh with his jokes. As a person who isn’t confident with his german I was very comfortable practicing with him. My boyfriend and I went to Maredo in Dortmund today for steak. We received a very friendly welcome. The food was perfect, the meat was tender, and the quality was truly amazing! For our sides, we had rosemary potatoes, grilled vegetables, spinach with a little garlic, and mushrooms in aioli. It was truly delicious and there was more than enough food. ☺️ The evening was rounded off by extremely friendly, even amicable service. That alone makes it worth coming back. Yesterday I ate with my Italian family at Maredo in Dortmund and we were served by Mr. Raniz. He was excellent at addressing customers, and his service was exemplary, which is very rare these days. Mr. Raniz served perfectly chilled drinks in clean glasses and the wonderful, perfectly prepared dishes in a very pleasant and communicative manner. Even grilled peppers and other vegetables, which usually have to be ordered separately as an appetizer. The service was prompt, and the food arrived quickly. Our waitress, Nesrin, served us like her best friends and even brought a skewer of roasted marshmallows for our seven-year-old (on the house). Thank you so much! Based on the quality and service offered, the value for money currently appears to be in need of improvement. Specifically, ketchup and mayonnaise were mixed up in the children's menu, and the mayonnaise for a side dish was not initially provided. The subsequent delivery was delayed, meaning that the food was largely consumed. Furthermore, side dishes for burgers are charged extra.

We were dissatisfied. The waiter made it clear to us that you can't even change the sauce. The food itself was okay. Nothing special, for example when you go to Block House. The steak here didn't taste grilled. You have to pay extra for mayo, there is no herb bread, you have to order and pay for everything separately. The water 💧 tastes like sparkling tap water for around 3.00. We'll never be back, we're totally dissatisfied and a waste of money. But the staff were very friendly and the service was good.
