We had a dish from the lunch menu. The price-performance ratio was good. The staff was very friendly.

A steakhouse of the finest quality. We had the 500g steak, absolutely perfectly cooked! This is the kind of steakhouse you'll want to visit again.

We were there at lunchtime. The lunch menu looked good and reasonably priced, but the food was a bit uninspired and not particularly good. Perhaps it's different in the evening... The staff was nice, but we had five different servers at our table within an hour.

After a long walk, we stopped in with a view of the lake. Very good food, friendly staff who were always there to help. Top notch. Highly recommended.

For a restaurant in this price range, I expect impeccable cooking. Both the burger (ground beef) and the salmon were undercooked (the burger was raw/bloody, the salmon was translucent), as the attached photos show. We left the dishes as they were and couldn't finish them. ​Given these fundamental deficiencies in the main ingredients, I consider the value for money to be poor. The high prices do not justify such culinary errors. ​Conclusion: The location and service are good, but the kitchen urgently needs to review its standards. It was a disappointment for us because we didn't feel comfortable due to the poor cooking of the food.

The location of the restaurant is great, but that's about it. The burger I had bears no resemblance to a comparable one from America. If a restaurant advertises US meat and an American oven, they certainly can't serve pressed meat as a burger. But it did happen, and the patty was far from medium. So two stars is actually too many, but the location was great. Next time, I'll go out for something delicious to eat first and then I'm sure I'll find another place where I can enjoy the Phoenix Lake. I'll definitely never go back to this Pfefferkorn Steakhouse.

After a long time, I stopped here for a drink on a sunny afternoon after a bike ride. First, I was asked to sit at another table because they weren't serving them at the time (?). Oh well... Then I took my drink order and got the wrong drink. Before I could complain, no one was available, so I drank it because I didn't want something thrown away, which is fine in itself and just not to my taste. So I told the waiter afterwards and asked him to bring me the right drink. In the end, of course, I had to pay for both drinks—without any further comment or apology—and there was no thank you for the small tip. With charm, a small apology, and a smile, it would have been different, and I would have gladly paid for it, but unfortunately, I didn't feel comfortable like that. I won't be coming back.

The restaurant ultimately thrives on its lakeside location. Unfortunately, the service is understaffed and therefore overwhelmed. Everything simply takes far too long. The food was mediocre. Thankfully, none of the very expensive steaks were served, just a burger that was overcooked. With children in tow, it would have been disastrous.

Unfortunately, the staff was unfriendly and disinterested. The food wasn't tasty: the grilled chicken breast strips were too dry, and the steak was cooked almost well instead of medium, which also made it too dry. It's a shame, as we came all the way from Hagen, and unfortunately, our expectations weren't met. €120 for two is also too expensive (without alcohol, coffee, and dessert).

The food was really very good. However, I had to wait 15 minutes for my drinks, even though there was nothing to do. And while I was eating, I asked three times for the sauce I ordered. And then I got rude. Then, out of kindness, he removed the sauce from the bill... but that's nice.

We had dinner here two weeks ago. First, the positive: we really enjoyed everything. And now the negative: the service. When it came time to pay, we had to ask for the bill several times, which arrived after 20 minutes. We mentioned each time that we needed individual bills. When the waiter finally brought the bill, everything was on one bill and he flippantly said, "Then divide it by three"... yes, no, we all pay for what we had. He obviously found this so pointless that we had to calculate what we had to pay ourselves, but he waited by, grinning. Absolutely outrageous - this was definitely the last time we'd go here.

We sat for at least 10 minutes before someone brought the menu, and ordering took even longer. The menus were slightly worn. Salt and pepper were missing from the tables. The food was mediocre at best, the side dishes were lukewarm, and the steak was mushy. The waitress apologized for the wait. Three beers came to €65, so we won't go there again.

The 12 fries that came with the burger were a joke, and both the burger and the schnitzel arrived lukewarm. The burger was also overcooked, even though we ordered it medium. We will avoid the restaurant for the time being and cannot recommend it.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the ambiance, with the lake next door, is quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the €20 portion of schnitzel and fries was, to say the least, a complete disgrace. They should adjust the price to reflect the portion size.

We were at Pfefferkorn today and, unfortunately, I have to say: it was nothing!!! We asked the waiter if and where we could sit. Since the restaurant was about a third full on the terrace, we chose a nice spot on the promenade. We waited about 15-20 minutes to order our drinks and actually wanted something tasty to eat. Despite repeatedly calling for our attention and the waiter seeing us, ultimately no one came and we were deliberately ignored. What a shame! We simply left empty-handed. Service is abysmal.

Unfortunately, the service was very poor. The appetizer came before the drinks. The bill was requested several times and had to be calculated later, as everyone had paid for it themselves. It's a shame, because the food was really good.

The vegetables and salad were okay, but the rum steak was awful. 👎 Although we wanted the steak 🥩 "a bit well done," it was almost charred. It was very tough and tasted absolutely nothing. Plus, the tables are very small and the dishes are a bit too wide. 🍽️ The staff is friendly, and the view is very nice. 👍

The food and the ice cream don't taste good at all.

Delicious food, bright sunshine, and a beautiful view of Phoenix Lake – what more could you want? For example, that the meat in the hamburger is cooked... Grilled vegetables with potatoes, although €22, weren't cooked either, just hot... We wanted to enjoy not only the view but also the fresh air outside, but we were surrounded by three smoking tables... So I had my food packed and taken it with me, then cooked it in the microwave. It was all way too expensive for that! Suggested solution: Perhaps create smoking areas outside as well and not allow it at every table. ...

My pasta dish was very dry! What a shame! The price was rather high.

Yesterday's visit wasn't so great. The "Krüstchen" (a new dish on the menu) consisted of two pieces of meat, which, from a distance, bore the word "Formfleisch" (formed meat). It was more reminiscent of "square, practical, 2 cm thick, and thoroughly cooked and dry." The potato cakes served with it weren't much better either. I've been used to better food here. Today's visit and the food... 2 stars. And that's still a good rating.

The good location at Phoenix Lake is pleasant, but the staff is rather unpleasant. My "medium" steak was too crispy on the outside, and theirs was at least medium-well, if not well done. €60 for asparagus with a 260g fillet is a bit steep in my opinion, even in a place like this. The drinks are good, though, and reasonably priced. People always like to try new things, and Phoenix Lake is definitely worth a visit. For food, we'd rather go to a hotel in Hagen or a pub in Halver. I wish the shop/team every success.

The food came to the table hot and you could immediately taste the good quality of the meat. Our server was also super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also found the price-performance ratio to be absolutely reasonable. Delicious food, bright sunshine and the beautiful view of Lake Phoenix – what more could you want? We'll definitely be back!

The way the service staff dealt with the guests was an absolute disaster. The waiters behaved disrespectfully and sometimes downright cheeky - this meant that there was never a feel-good atmosphere. You felt more unwanted than welcome. What was particularly shocking was a discussion with one of the waiters in which no insight was shown. Criticism of the tone and behavior towards guests was ignored or even responded to in a derogatory manner. In a restaurant you should feel like you are in good hands - here the opposite was the case. Based on this experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. Service is a crucial part of the overall experience, and when guests are treated so disrespectfully, the rest unfortunately becomes irrelevant.

We were there with two people. The food is of very good quality with a wide variety of dishes. I received really good advice when putting together my menu. The waiter recommended another vegetable to go with the meat and it went perfectly. There is a matching wine for every meal. For very good meat and good fish including drinks and coffee at the end, we didn't pay 100 euros. We'd love to come back.

He then brought my daughter a burger (without bread) and said it was 100% gluten-free... I don't know whether that was the case. Actually, we should have left immediately, but I only noticed afterwards that he didn't know his way around at all. When I wanted to ask someone else from the waitress (about the mayo), he said that he was responsible for us... I didn't get upset at all about the forgotten appetizers and the drinks that were only brought after dinner... only to then, as an apology, bring my daughter a fruit ice cream mix (I specifically said only fruit ice cream) with some biscuit pieces, was the crowning achievement... the next day she couldn't go to school because of a stomach ache
