Pfefferkorn NY Steakhouse in Dortmund

We had a fantastic culinary day at Pfefferkorn NY Steakhouse on Lake Phoenix! With the lovely, sunny weather, we opted for a table outside - just perfect to enjoy the sun. After placing our order, it didn't take long for our food to be served. We chose a hamburger and a schnitzel, and I can say that we really enjoyed it! The food came to the table hot and you could immediately taste the good quality of the meat. Our server was also super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also found the price-performance ratio to be absolutely reasonable. Delicious food, bright sunshine and the beautiful view of Lake Phoenix – what more could you want? We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, absolutely disappointing – not recommended We were looking forward to a relaxed lunch in the steakhouse, but were unfortunately bitterly disappointed. The way the service staff dealt with the guests was an absolute disaster. The waiters behaved disrespectfully and sometimes downright cheeky - this meant that there was never a feel-good atmosphere. You felt more unwanted than welcome. What was particularly shocking was a discussion with one of the waiters in which no insight was shown. Criticism of the tone and behavior towards guests was ignored or even responded to in a derogatory manner. In a restaurant you should feel like you are in good hands - here the opposite was the case. Based on this experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. Service is a crucial part of the overall experience, and when guests are treated so disrespectfully, the rest unfortunately becomes irrelevant.

2 mal ein verbranntes Steak bekommen. Nicht in der Lage ein Steak vernünftig zubereiten .Service war super! Aber das Filetsteak war eine Zumutung!!!Haben dann für das verbrannte Steak(45.99)einen Kaffee (2.50)angeboten bekommen .Hier muss sich dringend was in der Küche ändern !

The stylish ambience of the restaurant impresses you as soon as you enter. The large window fronts provide a fantastic view of the lake - an exceptionally beautiful atmosphere is created here, especially in the evening hours. The food The absolute highlight of the evening was the mega fillet steak. Perfectly fried to perfection, with a wonderful crust on the outside and wonderfully juicy and tender on the inside. You can taste the quality of the meat - a real premium product that was prepared with a lot of love and skill. The salad served with it was also excellent: fresh, crunchy and with a finely balanced dressing that was neither too heavy nor too sour. A perfect complement to the main course. The service The team on site deserves particular mention. The employees were consistently friendly, attentive and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive*. You immediately felt welcome and in good hands. Questions about the menu were answered competently, special requests were taken into account without any problems - that speaks for a well-coordinated and customer-oriented team. Ambiance & location The location of the restaurant directly on Lake Phoenix is ​​fantastic. It's especially nice to sit on the terrace - with a view of the water, a glass of wine in your hand and a great meal in front of you. We were there with two people. The food is of very good quality with a wide variety of dishes. I received really good advice when putting together my menu. The waiter recommended another vegetable to go with the meat and it went perfectly. There is a matching wine for every meal. For very good meat and good fish including drinks and coffee at the end, we didn't pay 100 euros. We'd love to come back.

The price quoted was far too high for this portion size. The side salad was still ok. When we ordered the bill, we were allowed to wait another 15 minutes. I waited there for minutes for the waiter who apparently managed to serve two tables with people who arrived after me, but he couldn't manage to ask me if I wanted something too, despite passing my table twice. Stylishly furnished restaurant with an excellent location on Lake Phoenix. The staff is experienced and very pleasant. Every week there is a new lunch menu with delicious and inexpensive dishes. The selection of steak dishes and burgers is varied. What should be highlighted is the spacious outdoor area on Lake Phoenix.

Basically, we started with good service. But a single service person quickly ruined it with a flippant and very rude manner. The food, I had a crust, was unfortunately cold including the mushrooms on it... This was newly prepared and the taste wasn't really any better than before. The Berneis sauce tasted like all sorts of things, but not like Bernese sauce. We were greeted in a friendly manner, but for this price-performance ratio it was simply too bad. In a chip shop I would have given at least one more star here.

The waiter made this statement: “Oh yes, €17 is so much” and that was ironic!!!!!! When I wanted to ask someone else from the waitress (about the mayo), he said that he was responsible for us... I didn't get upset at all about the forgotten appetizers and the drinks that were only brought after dinner... only to then, as an apology, bring my daughter a fruit ice cream mix (I specifically said only fruit ice cream) with some biscuit pieces, was the crowning achievement... the next day she couldn't go to school because of a stomach ache

We had just sipped our aperitif when we were asked about our menu choices. We said several times that we have time and don't know exactly yet. The conversation was polite and charming, but firm, so directed that we ordered straight away. Attentive service is good! And the food too. Still, it would be nice as a guest not to feel like you're being pushed through the menu on a conveyor belt so that things can be cleared away quickly. The eager waiter then disappeared into the evening without a greeting after we had accepted all the recommendations and of course paid. Unfortunately, this made the experience very impersonal. We probably would have ordered another glass or two if it wasn't for that assembly line feeling. In the end my husband asked for a match/lighter and was told "we don't have it". Funny that there were candles burning on the tables! That doesn't work at all.

Wir sind aufgrund einer App, die extra Restaurants raussucht die glutenfreies Essen anbieten hier hin gefahren. Ich habe vorher als ich angerufen habe gefragt ob glutenfreie Optionen wie laut Karte, möglich wären. Daraufhin sind wir ins Pfefferkorn und unser Kellner kannte sich überhaupt nicht aus! Eine Allergenkarte hat er vergeblich gesucht und nicht gefunden. Er konnte meiner Tochter dann auch nicht sagen ob die Mayonnaise glutenfrei sei.Ich sollte dann eine abgespackte Tüte Majo bekommen um selber nachschauen zu können, doch leider war diese dann plötzlich auch nicht da. Dann ist noch so einiges schiefgelaufen und der Kellner bot meiner Tochter eine Kugel Eis als Entschuldigung an..Daraufhin haben wir gesagt das nur ein Fruchteis gehen würde wegen Gluten und sie bekam ein Eis mit Keksstückchen drin, welches man bei einer Zöliakie natürlich auch nicht darf..

I've never experienced anything so bad in my life! The food was catastrophic and at the end when we wanted to pay we had to add up our bills ourselves because we wanted to pay together. When asked if we could pay together, the answer was: “Can you do the math yourself, you have a cell phone in your hand!” so incredibly unfriendly!

On Boxing Day we reserved a table for three people at 8 p.m. We were previously told by telephone that earlier times were no longer available; When we arrived shortly before 8:00 p.m. the restaurant wasn't even about 50 percent full??? We ordered three different steaks with side dishes. I ordered a rib-eye steak with fries and got potato wedges. Since I like both, I didn't comment further on it. However, my steak looked like it was left over from a butcher's feast. Instead of a beautiful piece of meat with an eye of fat, I had two torn apart pieces of meat on the plate, connected by a thin strip of fat. The whole thing kind of reminded me of the shape of handcuffs, not exactly a feast for the eyes. We agreed on the quality, taste and cooking point: perfect. However, the quality of the supplements did not convince us. Shortly after 10 p.m. we were asked for the last order and the staff, who had been looking slightly grumpy all evening (don't get me wrong, the service was very friendly, but I didn't see a smile from any of the employees), began to leave the restaurant to tidy up and set up for the next day. Overall, it was a nice evening, but we agreed that we have often eaten much better and more lavish food for considerably less money.

Very good American-style steakhouse right on Phönix See Dortmund. Friendly and attentive service, the waiting time is naturally a little longer at Christmas, but reasonable. Very good quality meat, perfectly prepared, but also significantly more expensive. Good drink selection. Very loud when the tables are full, so conversations at a table of six are difficult, which is a shame. But overall, absolutely recommended if you are a beef lover. I personally would prefer to eat there during the week soon, it will be more relaxed and certainly quieter than during the holidays.

We had booked a table there for Christmas Day, our conclusion: really good!! Reception, service, table, ambience, atmosphere in the restaurant and last, but not least, the food, desserts, everything was great and the rib eye steaks are really first class! We'd love to come back!

Should be a nice evening with friends. The restaurant wasn't very busy and we were also parked at the toilet. The cold moved from the entrance to our table. After we complained, we were moved. I ordered a salad without peppers and specifically mentioned my pepper allergy and was promptly served peppers in my salad 😳 unbelievable!! We ordered two identical dishes. Steaks medium rare. One of the steaks was completely cooked through and tough. Since the evening was over anyway, we wanted to speak to the restaurant manager. What can I say, the ability to take criticism and customer satisfaction looks somehow different. We won't be coming back! I would have preferred to leave my money somewhere else.

For years, I drove there from Osnabrück to Dortmund every month. The food was always really good, but the last two times it was the end of the store. We waited an hour for our food. There were two of us there and we were alone. From the welcome to the service and the ambience to the food: everything was worth the money. We were spontaneously there with four people, were greeted with champagne and taken to a table in less than 5 minutes. After another two minutes the waitress came, took the drink order and brought us the menus. We ordered Cola, a Cola Zero, a cocktail and water. For dinner there was a U.S. New York strip loin regular cut, a steak plate and two cheeseburgers and side dishes. But the food was almost overshadowed by the friendly service, so our new “to go” destination in Dortmund is clear. None of us went home full and smiling.

And finally, when my friend wanted to pay the bill with a credit card, she said..."Tip."? So unfortunately that wasn't good service. I always give tips because I come from the catering industry myself, but that really wasn't a good service. She seemed quite overwhelmed. I'm sorry too, but that really wasn't good service. But that doesn't mean we won't go there again! It's just a shame, otherwise everything was fine. Food and drinks.

We were planning on having a nice meal with the family. Even though there was a lot of space available, we got a table next to the toilet and a large dog shaking itself - but that meant the waitress had a short distance and was able to reach us quickly. So we took allergy tablets and hoped we wouldn't get too many problems. Since we were there with 5 people and our boy wanted to invite us, we all skipped the really good pieces of meat, which start at 40 euros, and chose schnitzel. These look better in our canteen and the plates are arranged almost identically... That's a real shame. Then they forgot to deliver a drink. The table was sometimes completely overcrowded - dishes were picked up late or not at all. My wife then ate some of her salad off her lap - but no one was interested. Unfortunately, the customer is no longer “king” - the staff, which is certainly in short supply, is - sadly. The whole thing came to 151 euros and didn't leave a good feeling. This can be done much better - for us this experience was reason enough not to dine here again.

A restaurant right on Lake Phoenix! Very nicely located! The atmosphere is actually very nice! Unfortunately we were shown a very unpleasant table! There were five of us sitting at a table for four! (Although there were a lot of other large tables available!) It was incredibly tight on the table! I sat with the chair in the aisle that led directly to the toilets, i.e. People constantly walked past me. That wasn't nice at all! When I asked directly whether there was another table, I was told it would be cozy. The service staff were nice, but those who brought us the food just slapped it on the table, unfortunately I can't say it any other way! There was so little space that I ended up putting the salad on my lap! Otherwise the plate would have hung over the table! So the plate was placed on my table by the waitress! (see photo) The food was okay! Put carelessly on the plate, that's what I would say! I only ate half of it because it tasted kind of old? I didn't like it at all! We won't be back for a long time! The other dishes were also quite okay! But nothing special either.
