Fin gammel indretning. Vores wienerschnitzler kom helt ekstremt hurtigt. Wienerschnitzlerne var små og kun med pommes frites, intet øvrigt tilbehør. Betjeningen var uhøjtidelig, men også uopmærksom og ligegyldig. €20 for en wienerschnitzel er i overkanten, når kvaliteten ikke er højere. Samlet set en meget gennemsnitlig oplevelse.

The staff were terrible at the place. We all ordered and pointed out on the menu what we wanted but the waitress put wrong orders. We had to pay more than we ordered. They don’t know english so I don’t recommend this place for any tourists…

I think the concept has somehow become outdated

There are only a few places in Dortmund with this charm and quaintness. If the food tastes good, it's awesome.

The restaurant's atmosphere is very good but they throw the plates at you without love, they threw the fries in my dad's face and then they come in 1 hour with a new plate of fries when we had already finished, and the food comes with hair at the end. food was dry don't go

Very quaint restaurant, great ambience. We received a very friendly welcome and were served just as friendly throughout the evening. Top service, top food. There was also ice cream on the house for the kids. Any time again when we are in Dortmund.

Nice atmosphere, food and service are great!

ich hatte ein tolles abendessen im pfefferkorn. die atmosphäre war sehr elegant und der service war hervorragend. das fleischgericht, das ich bestellt habe, war genau nach meinen wünschen zubereitet und schmeckte ausgezeichnet. die kellner waren sehr freundlich und professionell, sie haben all unsere wünsche sofort erfüllt. auch die weinempfehlungen waren fantastisch.

Very nice stake house close to the pedestrian road. The rib eyes and the fillet mignion that we tried were top class. We ordered them medium and medium came. The waiters are professionals and the atmosphere is a classic Central European made out of wood restaurant. The prices are ok meaning that you have to spend around €70 per person if you want to eat a good stake, salad and a couple of biers. I recommend it for sure.

I found canned mushrooms as a vegetable accompaniment to filet mignon (€38) and chicken breast (€25) to be very weak. A cold one! Grilled tomato with the pepper steak (€38) as well. The steaks were good, the rest mediocre. Price-performance ratio isn't right here at all, I was really annoyed. The only thing I can really rate positively is the waiter, who offered us a coffee on the house as an apology.

As part of a football game that we attended in Dortmund, we had dinner at Pfefferkorn in Dortmund. The atmosphere seemed very appealing and beautiful to us. We reserved a table for 8 people at short notice, which was possible without any problems. We received a very friendly welcome. The service staff served us very friendly and quickly, but were sometimes very overwhelmed. What also put us off a bit was the very high prices for drinks. The food came very quickly. The taste of the food was completely fine. But what we noticed was that a lot of finished products were used. (e.g. frozen vegetables) We would have hoped for something different given the prices there. In summary we can say that overall we were satisfied, but we found the prices simply too high.

Very good service and responded well to special requests. I can happily recommend it.

The rustic location is always an experience, the service is fast and friendly and the food (especially the steaks) is excellent. I've been there regularly since 2009 and would love to come back... for both personal and business purposes.

I ordered a Ratsherrenschnitzel with fried potatoes there. The portion was good. Unfortunately, most of the ingredients on the plate were "finished products" Schnitzel and vegetables from the frozen food. I'm not a foodie, but the products could be freshly prepared at these prices. Service was top.

Expensive. It’s traditional inside and the meat was cooked really well. The lady who served us was friendly but chose not to explain the menu and was a bit stretched as she had too many tables to look after. My son had a Guinness that was served in a glass a bit bigger than a half pint and it had a huge head. 100 Euros for two steaks is a bit steep. Personally I’d eat in the Market square or at L’Osteria

Ended up there by chance. My husband said you could eat well there. Conclusion: we were very disappointed Schnitzel like convinience product Tk goods never fresh and very small Fries tasty but over €5 Had canned mushroom heads on my plate with a touch of sauce that you couldn't define very oily Over €20 per dish and €4.20 for a 0.33 Sprite was very unsatisfactory never again Unfortunately it ruined our day. Food wasn't okay for the price. Service rude and rude. Food is served with wrong side dishes etc. No apology . When paying, the waiter takes it into his own hand, enters the amount, the guest's EC card (he had already taken mine out of his wallet) is taken from the table without being asked, held up to it and then type in the number. When asked about this, as a guest you will be insulted about whatever you want. When the next guest arrives, he takes the money out of his wallet. That's it, we won't come back until other service staff work there

The Pfefferkorn on the Hohen Wall in Dortmund is a real culinary highlight! The ambience is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner. The side dishes were also fresh and tasted excellent. The wine selection leaves nothing to be desired and rounds off the meal perfectly. I ordered paprika schnitzel, which is not recommended. The very small schnitzel was tasteless and probably came from the deep fryer. The sauce tasted like it was made warm from a jar, the fries like they were fresh from a paper factory. The salad was also on top of the dressing. It seems problematic to put a ladle of dressing on the salad. Conclusion: I haven't eaten as badly as here in a long time.

Despite the EM and being extremely busy, the food tasted great and everything went quickly... slightly larger portions would be okay. The side salad was a bit carelessly prepared and small. Prices are relatively high.

Typical German restaurant located right at the entrance to the centre. And a pub where you can eat good meat. Prices are average, and the environment is not bad.

The service was attentive, the food was delicious and quick and the venue itself was charming. So much in fact, we went back a second night and it was consistently good (with different staff and different meals).

This afternoon we went to Pfeffelkorn in Dortmund: a restaurant widely acclaimed by TripAdvisor travelers having notably obtained certification. The cuisine was varied and was intended to be a standard bearer for the 4 corners of Europe, German, French and Italian specialties are made according to appropriate culinary rules in accordance with the respective national gastronomies. As for the staff, we were lucky enough to be served by Mohamed who shined and embellished our lunch with his presence, his friendliness, his attention and his availability. Like the restaurant he honors, Mohamed was able to distinguish himself and confirm to us the reasons why he was hired.

By “Krüstchen” the Westphalians actually mean one or two small schnitzels on bread with a small side salad and fried egg and one or two sauces. Here it is a simple pork schnitzel with (very sparingly) hollandaise sauce, a fried egg and a few mushrooms. Something very lacking in love and care and unfortunately too expensive for that.

Reminds me of Cologne with its rustic style, then again of home with... well. Stop at home. You feel comfortable all around. The selection of dishes are great. Different nations offer their steaks. So there's something for everyone. It's a top location, even if you don't actually have that many great things in Dortmund. Anyway, come back.

Nice atmosphere and very good service. You can expect a very meat-heavy menu, but the steaks are particularly recommended. My steak was cooked to perfection and very tasty, but unfortunately my companion's steak was on the grill a little too long. It's a shame, with a cut of €60. The prices are quite high, but at least reasonable for the “normal” quality of meat. The burgers also made a good impression and tasted good. It was very busy even during the week, so reservations are strongly recommended. Ambiance is tastefully rustic. Beers are mainly from the Radeberger group.

Really bad - I'd rather go somewhere else We had reserved a table for 6 people for Friday evening. The 3 steaks were served (cold!!) about 7 minutes before the rest of the food. Mayonnaise and ketchup arrived when the fries had already been eaten. The staff was massively overwhelmed and seemed haphazard. Criticism was received quite bluntly. It's a shame, but the restaurant is so beautiful inside!

We were there on Easter Monday and got a place for three people without registering. Super nice reception and pleasant rooms. The meat was cooked to perfection and truly the best thing I've had on my plate in a long time. There was really nothing to complain about. A dream!

My wife and I were there yesterday and thought it was great. A very nice welcome, very friendly and courteous service, nice atmosphere and even the toilets were good to look at, nicely decorated and very clean. The food was really tasty, the portion was a great size and filling. Price-wise, completely okay. If we hadn't had another appointment, we would have stayed longer. Next time we are in Dortmund we will definitely eat there again.

Even though it was very busy, the wait was shorter than expected. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is special and cozy. The price is absolutely right for the quality. A really great experience and even if I’m not a football fan the place was intimate and cozy enough for us to have a great time. The outstanding service really needs to be mentioned, the guys made it so that we now look forward to returning - chapeau.

Perfect steaks, nice pub, good beer

Today we spontaneously had dinner at Pfefferkorn with friends, when we arrived I had the feeling that we weren't welcome, both service staff were very inattentive and unfriendly. Beer was served in broken glasses, no waiter felt responsible to clear away, side dishes were forgotten, When we asked questions, the answer came straight away, no problem. We were almost finished eating and then the side dish came. It was a shame, I was always happy to go there. Even one star is too much for service.

It wasn't surprising, nor was it disappointing.

Everything is very good! Try it and you will not regret it!

Except for the employee last time who asked three times whether we really wanted an appetizer, everything was great! We have now eaten all over Dortmund and our recommendation is ALWAYS peppercorn. We still order the appetizer platter so we can enjoy more time in this beautiful atmosphere! 😍

"Steakhouse specializing in premium beef with an upscale pub atmosphere and original stained glass windows" - reads the headline. I ordered a burger. This came quickly and looked very good with the extremely tasty fries. Unfortunately, the patty was frozen, which would have been manageable if it had been properly grilled. I suspect preparation in a pan. As it was, it had the typical disgusting taste of thawed mince. In my opinion, a no-go for a “specialized” steakhouse. The atmosphere in the restaurant is "quaint", but in one place or another you should clean up again. Overall, the place “smells” like an “old restaurant”. The best thing about the visit was the beer (Hövels?). The service at my table was unremarkable, although the good man was probably annoyed by the three ladies at the next table who seemed to take too much time choosing the dessert. I don't want to repeat the waiter's comment here - the ladies didn't hear that either. Me, yes. Incomprehensible.

You can eat but nothing special

Luckily we got a nice spot without a reservation; so always call in advance. The food was prepared very tasty and very stylishly prepared. Our waiter was very attentive and what I really like to see is that the glass with the beer logo was turned towards the guest. A successful afternoon. Thanks

Wir waren Freitag im Pfefferkorn zum Essen. Wir testen in ganz Deutschland immer Restaurants und sind eher spontan ins Pfefferkorn gegangen. Unser Fazit: Alles Top. Wir wurden ab der ersten Minute freundlich empfangen. Da wir keine Reservierung hatten bemühte man sich uns einen gemütlichen Platz zu geben. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und schnell. Der bestellte Salat kam vor dem Hauptgericht - so wie es sein sollte. Wir bestellten das Rumpsteak mit Pfeffersosse und Beilagen, die wir ohne Probleme ändern oder erweitern konnten. Das Steak bestellten wir Medium. Wir waren schon oft in einem Steakhouse, aber das war das erste Mal dass das Fleisch perfekt auf dem Punkt gegrillt war. Somit möchten wir den Koch, der am Freitag den 26.01.24 am Grill war, nochmals hervorheben. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder, falls uns Münchner, die Stadt Dortmund nochmal über die Stadtgrenze fahren lässt :-). Ihr Pfefferkörner macht weiter so - Ihr macht alles Richtig. Ach und das Ambiente ist unschlagbar gemütlich.

Meine Familie und ich kommen aus der Gastro! Service Kraft war von anfang an sehr unhöflich und am jammern! Sehr unprofessionell! Für diese Preise war der service und das essen unakzeptabel!!

Sehr schönes Restaurant. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Änderungswünsche bei den Speisen wurden, mit einem sehr freundlichen,,na klar,, geändert. Das Essen war vorzüglich, sehr empfehlenswert.

Ein Original der alten, klassischen Restaurants aus der Zeit in der Dortmund noch Bierstadt war. Die Lage am Rande der Fußgängerzone, zu Fuß gut erreichbar, nur Parken ist schwierig.

Große Auswahl an veganen Speisen auf internationaler Ebene

Schweineschnitzel Wiener Art und das drei Mal. Das Fleisch war in der Qualität in Ordnung, jedoch alles andere als Schnitzel. Viel zu dick und geschmacklos. Die Pommes hätten noch einige Minuten gebraucht und auch da fehlte Salz, was jedoch nicht so dramatisch war. Die Bohnen waren gut gegart, such hier fehlte Salz und Gewürz. Mayonnaise zu Pommes war unterste Qualität. Die Wartezeit war insgesamt extrem lange. Die Dessertkarte kam so spät, sodass wir keine Lust mehr auf Dessert hatten. Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich.

Rustikales Restaurant mit hervorragender Küche. Der Steakteller ist immer ein Genuss.

Das Pfefferkorn bietet eine hervorragende Auswahl an saftigen Steaks und köstlichen Beilagen. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Portionen sind großzügig und das Essen ist immer frisch zubereitet. Ein perfekter Ort für alle Fleischliebhaber!

Vom Essen waren wir nicht hundertprozentig überzeugt, aber Service und Ambiente waren gut. Vielleicht hatten wir uns auch das Falsche bestellt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Nach unserem diesjährigen Weihnachtsmarktbesuch am Nikolaustag hatten wir zu Fünft - nicht zuletzt wegen der ausgesprochen gemütlichen Atmosphäre - einen Tisch im Pfefferkorn, Hoher Wall, reserviert. Bereits der freundliche Empfang war beeindruckend. Der überaus nette und aufmerksame Servicemitarbeiter Abdel hatte sehr bald mit seiner humorvollen Art unseren Abend angenehm ergänzt. Die gewählten Speisen waren schmackhaft und wurden schnell serviert. Eine umfangreiche Getränkekarte ließ ebenfalls kaum Wünsche offen. Unser außerordentlich lustige Abend durfte so ausklingen, und insbesondere unsere "Frau Gaby" hat offensichtlich beim Personal einen nachhaltigen Eindruck hinterlassen. Der nächste Aufenthalt im Pfefferkorn ist bereits beschlossen.

Wir waren zu zweit an einem Mittwoch um 16 Uhr im Pfefferkorn Hoher Wall. Zur Begrüßung wurden wir gefragt,ob wir reserviert haben,nein das hatten wir nicht und wir stellten fest die Frage nach der Reservierung war nicht wirklich berechtigt,da insgesamt drei Tische belegt waren..aus der Ecke kam von einem Keller...na da haben sie ja alles richtig gemacht, nicht zu reservieren. Sein Kollege schaute im Buch nach,ob noch ein Tisch frei sei...und siehe da ein kleiner Tisch für zwei war noch frei...es kam auch schnell die Karte und wir trafen zügig unsere Wahl,daraufhin kam der nächste überflüssige Spruch, Kennen sie sie Karte auswendig???ja tatsächlich waren schon öfters im Pfefferkorn...aber diesmal hatten wir das Gefühl,wir waren nicht wirklich erwünscht....schade schade schade. Nur Mal so als Anmerkung...ohne zahlende Gäste die gerne wiederkommen möchten...keine sicheren Arbeitsplätze.

Bedinung super, das Essen naja. "Ich" würde niemanden empfehlen.

Lekker eten en super gezellige sfeer.

Wir hatten telefonisch für den 1. Adventssontag einen Tisch für 5 Personen reserviert. Leider stellten wir am Eingang fest, dass trotz bestätigter Reservierung Sonntags Ruhetag ist. Schade!

Wir waren letzten Freitag mit 9 Personen dort, und ich möchten mich auf diesem Wege für den tollen Abend bedanken. Alles war super. Von den tollen Steaks, bis zum unglaublich aufmerksamen und freundlichen Personal.
