Haus Unland in Dortmund

Our table was only reserved for 1.5 hours, which was not mentioned when we made the reservation. The schnitzel was very fatty. The croquettes we ordered were not yet ready inside. But the steak fillet was very tasty. Not ok for a steakhouse like this in my opinion. There are pads on the tables for the plates that still had crumbs and dust underneath when they were lifted. These should also be lifted when cleaning the table, as a tip from me. I will not recommend this restaurant under these circumstances!

We were extremely disappointed and simply horrified on Christmas Day. We reserved a table for 11 people at 3:45 p.m At 4 p.m. a waiter came and took the drink order. Except for the older waiter, who brought us the drinks in a very annoyed and unfriendly manner, everything was ok. After we ordered our food, it took almost an hour for it to arrive. The fact that the main courses are served without side dishes is also absurd for me. In my opinion, a grill plate includes fries and/rice. This also had to be ordered separately. Then we had about 30 minutes to eat and were kicked out at exactly 5:30 p.m. We had just swallowed the last bite and our drinks were still half full. Actually, dessert and an espresso should follow. However, this was no longer possible because we had to get up because the next guests were already waiting for our table. There was a lot of commotion in the restaurant because people were waiting in the aisles for their reserved tables. It looked similar outside, because there were guests who had already been waiting 45 minutes for their reserved table. This is really nonsense and for me it's just a rip-off and money-making!! A lovely family day was simply destroyed!!!

Wir waren am 1. Weihnachtstag maximal enttäuscht und einfach nur entsetzt. Wir hatten um 15.45uhr einen Tisch für 11 Personen reserviert 16.00uhr kam ein Kellner und nahm die Getränkebestellubg auf. Bis auf den älteren Kellner, der super genervt und unfreundlich uns die Getränke brachte, war noch alles ok. Nach unserer Essenbestellung, dauert es fast eine Stunde, bis selbiges kam. Das die Hauptgerichte ohne Beilagen serviert werden, ist für mich auch ein Unding. Zu einer Grillplatte gehört meiner Meinung nach Pommes und/Reis. Das musste auch extra dazu bestellt werden. Dann hatten wir ca. 30 Minuten Zeit zum essen und wurden dann exakt um 17.30uhr rausgeschmissen. Wir hatten gerade den letzten Bissen runtergeschluckt und unsere Getränke waren noch voll. Eigentlich sollte noch Nachtusch und ein Espresso folgen. Die war jedoch nicht mehr möglich, denn wir sollten aufstehen, da die nächsten Gäste schon auf unseren Tisch warteten. Es war eine super Unruhe in dem Restaurant, weil die Leute in den Gängen auf ihre reservierten Tische warteten. Draußen sah es ähnlich aus, denn da standen Gäste, die bereits schon 45 Minuten auf ihren reservierten Tisch gewartet haben. Das ist echt ein Unding und für mich nur Abzocke und Geldmacherei!! Ein schöner Familientag, wurde somit einfach nir zerstört!!!

Were there on December 25th and had to wait 20 minutes despite having a reservation...: after ordering, we first got a salad from the buffet... the food came straight away when we were eating the salad, which seemed very strange to us... cevapcici and minced steak tasted subterranean...: absolutely catastrophic day! What a shame!

The restaurant apparently had massive problems over Christmas, which could have been avoided with more relaxed slots. It's a shame that they decided to get as many guests through as possible in a short period of time. As a result, the mood in the entire store was extremely tense. More time buffer would have relieved the burden on the service staff, communication with the guests would have promoted understanding and perhaps someone should have been assigned to telephone the evening guests in the afternoon, when the catastrophe was already becoming apparent, and ask them to postpone for 30 minutes. In any case, my respect goes to the waiters who fought like lions. Ours was also very friendly, but you could see how much he suffered from the situation. When the food arrived after what was actually a barely tolerable wait, we were somewhat compensated. It came for 6 people at the same time, it was hot and tasty, which we actually didn't expect given the circumstances.

Mass processing. The taste of the food is okay. Price-performance ratio can be improved, unfortunately overpriced.

Despite a reservation on December 25th, we didn't get a table. No apology etc. We looked for an alternative. They were very nice there (half-timbered building in Dortmund Bodelwickelh). Good service. Great value for money!

We have been visiting this restaurant for around 30 years Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it at all, Christmas Day was currently spoiled for us. Food was partly oversalted, very rude service, and suddenly we were forced to pay because the next ones were on the table, something like that should be announced in advance. Then we noticed outside that the guests had even had their food packed up and they had to leave. And you'll never see it there again.

“Merry Christmas in the Unland House”! Disastrous service conditions! The table does not take into account the desired number of people, making it very cramped ....only got one drink within 2 hours.... Menu totally reduced to one Fraction of the other selection...... The food was “standard”, absolutely no highlight, e.g. canned mushrooms with a mushroom cream schnitzel ......then the rude and unfriendly "kicking out" without prior notice of the time for the table to be occupied! New guests for the table had been standing nearby for a long time, waiting and scowling. We just didn't know that our table had already been reoccupied. When I asked for a separate bill, an unfriendly employee said: "Oh dear...". Tipping is therefore €0! All in all, very poor treatment due to the overwhelmed service due to your poor planning and for us the security that we will not go to this restaurant again. There were several groups in front of the restaurant who had experienced exactly that... Merry Christmas 🎄

Wir hatten am ersten Weihnachtstag um 12:00 Uhr einen Tisch bestellt 45 Minuten auf Getränke gewartet ,um 13:30 Uhr kam das Essen um 13:50 kam die Rechnung unaufgefordert und es waren noch nicht alle mit dem Essen fertig . Ich frage mich nur wie Unverschämt kann man sein bei so schlechtem Essen. Jeder Hobbygriller kriegt mehr Geschmack an seinem Fleisch wie die Küche .

One word says it all: disappointed. The food was a little better than a snack bar. Grill plate looked like that Cook the meat simply fell onto the plate. Visually unappealing. Plates were cleared away even though others in the group were still eating. An absolute no-go Glasses empty for almost 1.5 hours without being asked if you wanted anything else.

The "staff" was very friendly and had a smile on their faces the whole time (which is difficult these days with some guests/customers) Visually beautifully rustic and yet it looks very friendly and inviting. As is well known, the prices can be argued, but both the food and the service are definitely worth the price. I would love to eat there again when the time comes. Definitely recommend it.

Restaurant looks good. However, the food isn't that great. Side dishes, Cavapcici and the pork steaks just tasted salty. The beef steak is OK. There are much better steakhouses with better food. The service wasn't the best either. Seemed very rushed and not very accommodating.

Das Steakhaus ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Allerdings finde ich das Konzept der Speiseplan nicht sehr gelungen. Das Hauptgerichte ohne jegliche Beilage ausser Salatbüffet, gereicht werden, finde ich nicht passend für die aufgerufenen Preise. Entweder Preise für Hauptgericht runter oder eine Beilage wie Pommes oder Gemüse als freie Auswahl dabei reichen. Das Essen selber war von der Qualität gut.

The food was sumptuous and the meat was very tender, the salad buffet was good, fresh coleslaw and enough choice. The price for what we ate was reasonable. When we were there it was quite full and therefore quite loud. The tables were quite close together and there were all large groups in the room. And also crying children, so quite stressful. In addition, the waitresses (all men) served really loudly, so much so that you were almost frightened. The then empty plates stood for at least half an hour before some were cleared away. Drinks were only asked sporadically. Not at all for me. At first I ordered a glass of water and then got a 0.5 liter glass for €5.50, which I thought was expensive and I didn't order half a glass either - you usually get 0.2-0.3 liters. We probably won't visit the restaurant again.

Always a good experience so far, the food has always been delicious, very attentive service and the ambience is also good. What I've always found negative is that mayonnaise is served in packets that we don't find tasty or contemporary. However, there is a star deduction for the sauce. Schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce doesn't mean a sc for me. Bernaise with a hint of cream, but a thick cream sauce.

Staff very friendly and our waiter could also understand fun. Quality of the food was excellent.

Our absolute favorite restaurant, great staff, great food

Traditional interior design and friendly service. Beef fillet was served medium rare as requested. However, you noticed that the heat was more on one side when frying. Nevertheless, for the price, it's perfect. O. The side dishes such as beans with bacon were also great in terms of price-performance ratio. I can highly recommend it for a good snack in between meals.

I have never seen such good service in any other restaurant. The waiters are very personable, courteous and friendly. The food tastes great and the portions are large. Price-performance and quality are right, as is the ambience in the store. Parking in front of the store, there are also spaces outside in summer. The best restaurant in Dortmund! Unfortunately, I had mixed feelings on my first visit and these were confirmed again this time. Due to the fact that the side dishes have to be ordered separately, the price/performance ratio is simply no longer there. You can get the same portion in other restaurants in the same or better quality for the same price as here without a side dish. The food in general is ok and the meat is well cooked. The salad is available at a small buffet, which sometimes looks less appealing when there is a lot of traffic, as there was nothing left here or it was already outside the container and the staff probably didn't feel compelled to clean there. I also didn't have a label for the four containers of dressing, so it was a bit of luck that I didn't use the garlic dressing. But what bothered us the most that evening was the fact that we were simply charged 3x mayonaise even though it was returned (in small bags). The waiter skillfully ignored the hint of this. Then there was no tip either

We have been visiting this restaurant regularly for several years and have always been very satisfied. However, the quality of the food has continuously deteriorated since the change of ownership, which is also reflected in the restaurant's occupancy. Side dishes now have to be ordered separately to the meat dishes, which on the one hand is not bad for variation, but requests for changes could also be made beforehand. Prices have been increased significantly, which is understandable given the general increase in food prices, but at the same time portions have been reduced. The pieces of meat are cut much thinner and are therefore overcooked and dry. I see the fact that they forgot to serve a side dish and had to ask twice to bring the bill to be the lesser evil. Unfortunately, the days when food was prepared perfectly within 15 to 20 minutes and served in generous portions are a thing of the past.

By far the best quality meat for which you are happy to pay a little more. It's a shame, but understandable, that the meat is no longer available in the hot stone.

Top steak, very nice service... again and again

Went to Haus Unland last weekend. Unfortunately the food was totally over salted. So complained to the waiter. After 10 minutes the waiter comes back and tells us we should order less salt next time, that's his boss's reaction. The good woman didn't even think it was necessary to appear at the table in person. In order to order less salt, as a guest I have to know in advance that the food is oversalted. A corresponding note on the map would be enough. No apology and no free coffee either. The bill of €274 was collected in full. I will never enter this store again. !!

Were here for the first time. Ordered a table for 10 with a dog. Everything great. Food really delicious. Service always had a little comment ready and was relaxed and quick. Price performance is upscale, but not too expensive. All in all TOP

We have been visiting Haus Unland for many years and have always been satisfied. Not so great for salad lovers, but even better for steak lovers. In addition to Argentinian steaks, there is also occasionally first-class US beef. You should call ahead about the US beef. All very tasty. You can usually always get a table. Very tasty steaks in a very pleasant rustic setting with an outdoor area. Staff is very friendly and attentive. You feel so warmly welcomed here that you almost feel like part of the family. Some free parking spaces in a parking lot diagonally opposite. Even after our tenth visit, we like to say: We'll be back!

We were there in large company. Unfortunately, 2 companies were seated right next to each other, which increased the volume enormously. The furnishings of the restaurant were comfortable, although a bit old. Nice outside area. The service staff was friendly, but at the limit in terms of service, certainly due to the number of guests. It was a shame, the side dishes came to us and then we had to wait a long time for the steaks. So we ate the side dish (tasted good) in advance to use the remaining heat. Typical German steakhouse. More expensive prices, but also good meat. Waiters seemed professional, but also quickly snippy when questions/extra requests were made. Size of the side dishes, however, is sometimes very large, sometimes very little. But overall a nice evening.

Over €70 for that? Table dirty, benches folded up outside. Salad came with turkey instead of beef fillet. The salad garnish for the steak platelet had obviously been there for a while. Everything was done carelessly. No question as to whether it was tasty, although the salad with beef fillet was returned almost untouched. Meat was ok, but nothing more. The plastic tablecloths, purely a matter of taste. No no, that was nothing.

Very nice and friendly atmosphere, the food was not 5 stars but 10 stars also together with the dessert and the starter bruschetta, which unfortunately I didn't take a photo of but it was very delicious. The friendly staff made me feel really comfortable and I ate there for the first time and it will become my regular steakhouse.

A really great steakhouse! Visiting for over a decade, always a culinary temptation when it comes to steaks. The ambience is perfect and invites you to linger, whether as a couple or with the whole family. Nowadays you can hardly find a restaurant with consistent quality, but here it is. 10/10 Until next time.

We would have liked to sit outside, the weather was good. Unfortunately that wasn't possible because the waiters probably didn't want to run outside. The store was relatively empty, despite it being 5 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully it won't get any emptier. We then went to Dortmund Eat Kley. By the way, in the beer garden.

Great steakhouse with friendly service and fantastic food. We were there in the early evening of the week and it was pleasantly quiet. We were there with 8 people and everyone really enjoyed it.

For me, Haus Unland is one of the top addresses when it comes to perfect, delicious steaks. It impresses with its rustic ambience and super friendly service. Here you can quickly lose track of time and if you have good four-legged friends you can even bring them with you without any problem. I enjoy eating here and can highly recommend this restaurant. Reservations required as they are really busy.

Unfortunately, Yugoslavian is not my cuisine, we tested it again today, it's no longer an option for me personally, I don't have to go to a steakhouse to eat a schnitzel. Service and ambience were OK. And read the menu correctly, not all dishes come with side dishes that cost extra.

We are absolute steak lovers and Haus Unland is one of our regular restaurants. From the food to the service, everything is excellent. We rarely wait longer than 15 minutes for our order. We can only recommend Haus Unland and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Attentive and unobtrusive service. The food was delicious, only the back steak on the grill was a bit dry but the rest was juicy. The salad buffet is small, but has a lot of good things. The price has also increased slightly here, but is still well within limits. The ambience was good and clean, but nothing special stood out.

Very tasty and fresh meat, as well as really good homemade tiramisu! Each dish gets its own plate and you can also dose the sauce yourself. Fresh salad bar and good service, which always asks questions, but unfortunately you can hardly deviate from the existing combination when ordering the grill plates or croquettes and rice in smaller portions, so you should be hungry if you want both.

The salad from the salad bar was not nicely prepared and too coarsely cut, the sauce with it was very salty. The steak plate, small, very little, fries ok, service also ok... The restaurant has had several owners and was 15 years ago The food is better, unfortunately as a restaurateur you also have to keep an eye on your competitors and there are now better restaurants. It was worth a try...

Delicious meat and the tiramisu was to die for!

We spent our wedding anniversary there and had a very nice time there. Special requests were also addressed. Very tasty, great ambience and great service.

Actually our regular steakhouse But today as well as at Christmas we were/were very disappointed. The onion plate with the different types of meat and the hearty onions always impressed us, but today the pork loin steak was missing, onions much less and fries can now only be ordered as a side dish, which was previously all in. Aivar maximum of a tablespoon in quantity for 1.50 a no go Then the waitress runs around the whole time and collects all of my empty plate even though my wife was still eating. It's very sad that things have slowed down so much, there's just a piece of steak missing from the plate and fries are then listed separately and that's steep for 3 euros. We always passed on recommendations to friends and acquaintances because we felt like we were in great hands, but that is no longer the case. Kind regards

We were there for the first time today and were simply thrilled. My partner and I both had the turkey steak, I with Bernaise sauce and he with spinach and rice. The meat is super juicy, you can literally taste the roasted aromas. The ingredients from the buffet for the salad were all fresh and the buffet, as well as the entire restaurant, was clean and had a cozy atmosphere. Many thanks to the team for the lovely evening and the delicious food. We'd love to come back!

I've been a guest there for 22 years, but I've now reached the pain threshold. The price-performance ratio (my subjective opinion) has developed very negatively. I also supported the restaurant with “to go” during Corona. The price has been raised too often recently, but recently a different approach was taken. The way of the “Haribo deceptive package” The supplements are simply left out. So instead of serving the dishes with fries or rice, you now order them separately. After I got the bill last time, as I said, I know the prices... it was over for me. Electricity and gas prices have been falling again for a long time. Where's this going to end? In terms of taste, everything was as usual (top), but when you know the development in the back of your mind, it spoils my desire. Now that was a bit too much.

The food is good. In September 2023, a 0.5 glass of mineral water cost €5. A 0.4 glass of mineral water now costs €5.50. We're talking about mineral water here. Is water the same price as a cola? Mineral water is much cheaper to purchase. You should definitely think about the pricing of the drinks.
