Ein tolles Restaurant mit aufmerksamen Personal und super leckerem Essen. Wir fühlten uns willkommen und nett beraten. Das Essen war sehr lecker und genau so wie von uns gewünscht. Der Preis-Leistung war genau richtig.

Das Fleisch war hervorragend gebraten, leider aber relativ geschmacklos. Das selbe gilt für die Saucen und Dips (gute Konsistenz aber wenig Geschmack). Schade! Mit etwas mehr Mut zum würzen wäre hier mehr möglich.

Given the location and the ambience, you would expect a lot more in terms of food and service. Service staff seemed in a bad mood and not really well trained. You constantly had other people serving you and when you were served after a long wait, everything took quite a long time. Wine service was terrible. I was quite disappointed with the meat...the taste was nothing to say and the degree of doneness was also rather lacking. Everything was slapped down relatively carelessly. A cold espresso rounded off the whole experience... My conclusion: great location! If it can really hold a candle to a typical New York steakhouse from a purely visual perspective... then unfortunately that's where it ends! You can get your steak from the Greek restaurant around the corner...

Laith gave us a very good service. Very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and of the best quality in Hamburg. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Quiet and cozy. The price is a little higher, which is completely understandable given the quality.

My husband and I celebrated my birthday here today! From start to finish the service was simply great! We come from Munich and have never had such good service or even steak there. A recommendation for everyone who comes to Hamburg! On top of that there was an espresso martini as a little birthday present! Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

We've been to Mash a few times now, the quality of the steaks is excellent and the preparation always justifies the price, in case anyone here says "expensive". We ourselves run a restaurant with 300 seats (not upscale/rather upscale) and therefore know that not every visit will be the same. In some cases we had waitresses who left something to be desired, but also some who did incredibly good, serious and friendly work. The cook (I think) comes out every now and then and checks that everything is going well and whether the food tastes good. I find that incredibly important and rare. This hasn't happened to us in other higher-class restaurants either. I would particularly like to highlight Salih from this evening. He was very attentive, always gave us friendly advice and was also very competent. All in all, this restaurant is definitely recommended, and I will come back more often myself. We have always referred others through word of mouth. But yes, the prices are above the “standard”, which, as I said, is usually justified.

The restaurant is truly a gem! Salih looked after us perfectly from start to finish. The welcome was warm, the service attentive and the food simply delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended!!

Service and ambience were good. However, the food has to be measured against the high price. Just under €200 for a tomahawk (only the largest piece weighing 1.2 kg was said to have been available) is not without cost. However, the meat was unfortunately only mediocre in terms of both appearance and taste. So the price-performance ratio was far from being right and the visit was ultimately disappointing. No risk of repetition.

Danish dry aged rib eye steak was not good. I didn't find it tender and it didn't have the typical fat eye either. Unfortunately the fries weren't tasty either and were quite dry. The side dish (tomato salad) was delicious. The white wine was also good. The atmosphere was nice and the staff tried hard but were inattentive. French fries and wine were not included.

Steak was fantastic, but, every staff were very busy, too long waiting for additional orders...

The MASH offers a nice ambience with pleasant music in the background. The service was friendly, unfortunately things kept being forgotten when our group (10) ordered. Regarding the food, I have to say that the prices were not appropriate, at least for my dishes. The grilled capacio with shaved parmesan for €16 was, unfortunately, tasteless. Neither cheese nor meat conveyed any taste. The Uruguay ribeye was tasty but at 300g, €29 without any side dishes, I think it was too expensive. Unfortunately the cooking point was not adhered to - the steak was medium and not medium rare. Yes, it's difficult with a group order, but I expect more from a steakhouse. But the chilli fries for €5 were the biggest letdown. 5€ for a small portion of thin, relatively dry fries sprinkled with loveless chilli spice is simply cheeky. For €5 I get freshly cut potato fries with homemade sauces at festivals. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant based on my experience.

The food was very tasty. In our opinion, the prices for the cocktails are a bit too expensive and the drinks are not that tasty. The service is very attentive and attentive. Leider ist das Team völlig überfordert und zudem nicht wirklich Gastorientiert. Das trübt den Gesamteindruck, denn die Leistung der Küche ist wirklich gut und die Preise fair. Weder der Empfang (10 Minuten bis überhaupt jemand angesprochen werden konnte), noch der Service am Tisch (sowohl Attitüde als auch Geschwindigkeit), noch das Verständnis wie und wann welche Speise serviert werden sollte, passen zum Anspruch und der Preislage des Hauses.

Occasionally things with a restaurant work flawlessly from the reservation to the overall experience. With Mash Hamburg it was just that! We arrived on site and from there on things just went so well : The place was packed and yet the waiters were attentive but invisible just the way it should be. The food was absolutely fantastic. For us is was an occasion of a very important business dinner and all worked in a fantastic way. Need not to say more. This place just worked so well.

Very good card for everyone. Side orders like spinach are very tasty. Even with the bread before meals, you quickly get the impression that professionals are at work here.

We had reserved for 6 people and were warmly welcomed by the staff. The ambience and the food are excellent!! Additionally, a huge thank you to Samet who looked after us very well and gave us advice. Expensive and mediocre. You have to want it

Update: MASH tried to have this review deleted and accused me of defamation on Google, which I had to go to great lengths to counter. This further reduces the overall impression, which is why I am reducing my rating from two to one star. The two of us had dinner at MASH last night and unfortunately we didn't get much out of the experience. After we sat down outside, we were ignored for almost half an hour. In the meantime, three more tables were served, received the cards, ordered, and received the drinks. At some point I had to get up and ask a waiter for the menus. After the drinks came, it felt like an eternity before the food order was taken. Every interaction with the staff was extremely difficult. Actually, in restaurants in this price range, making eye contact and nodding to the waiter should be enough. The only thing that helped here was to wave frantically with your outstretched arm or just stand up and personally fetch the employee to the seat. The steak (ordered medium) was a little more than medium well, the burger was dry because there was almost no sauce. At best the fries were convincing. Our criticism of the quality was met with an apologetic “I’ll let the kitchen know, better next time.” I had relied on the good reviews when I made the reservation - but upon closer reading I discovered that the owners are taking action against negative reviews, which has probably led to them being deleted in many cases. In this respect, I will keep my invoice as proof of my actual visit to MASH.

We visited MASH in Hamburg because we have enjoyed the Danish MASH around Copenhagen. The food was really gold, amazing tuna tartare and a wide variety of meat. I had the Danish dry-aged ribeye which was really good. The service was however really not as expected, they forgot my order 3 times and we ended up asking for the bill after waiting 30 minutes on an espresso shot and reminding the waitress 3 times. She could not remember what I ordered and when we asked for the bill she didn’t even notice that she once again forgot my order… Sad because the food is really good.

Ich war am letzten Samstag mit Freunden Abends im MASH in Hamburg. Es fing damit an, dass uns der Empfang erstmal an die Bar setzte, da der Tisch noch nicht fertig sei. Kurz darauf kam ein anderer Kollege der meinte, dass der avisierte Tisch nur kurz von den Gästen zum Rauchen verlassen wurde und wir woanders sitzen müssten. Der Barkeeper sprach nur Englisch (was kein Problem war) reagierte aber gelangweilt, als wir nur zwei Bier und zwei Martini Cocktail bestellten. Das er den Gin für den Martini Cocktail aus einer ungelabelten Flasche eingoss, war auch bemerkenswert. Die Bedienung am Tisch wechselte während des ganzen Essens mehrmals, so dass von denen die nur das Essen brachten keiner wusste wer was bestellt hatte. Das am Tisch bestellte Bier musste mehrfach nachgefragt werden. Wenn der Service am Tisch war, konnte man sie kaum verstehen, da sie eher mit geschlossenes Mund sprachen. Dafür, dass das Restaurant im Vergleich zu anderen Steakhäusern in Hamburg eher 10% zu teuer ist, war der der Service unterirdisch. Vom Essen war das Fleisch ok, die Sides waren eher Durchschnitt.

Unfortunately, I wasn't convinced on my last visit to the restaurant because I was hoping for a lot more. The restaurant itself doesn't look badly decorated, but what we noticed was that it was slightly dusty in many places. As soon as we arrived there was a big minus point because, even though we had reserved, we were simply waved through to a group of strangers. Even before we had actually spoken out, the service apparently thought that if we didn't show up in a tuxedo and evening dress, we would have to be part of the "tourist table". When we spoke, there was whispering and we were seated at a random table. The service seemed arrogant, no real smile and rather snippy. We ordered steaks from the middle price range, but we were rather disappointed. We expected soft, tender meat with really good quality, but it seemed so bland on the plate and didn't taste any different to conventional supermarket meat. I've actually eaten better things in comparison. Dessert wasn't convincing either. Unfortunately no recommendation, especially after the review from my friend who was with me was deleted on the grounds that she wasn't there and was lying. Of course you can also get 5 star ratings. The restaurant still needs improvement in many things.

I received a voucher for the Mash when I passed my studies. On my birthday we reserved a table to celebrate the day as a couple. The atmosphere is great and the waiters are extremely nice. The food was also on top except for the starter of Wagyu toast, which was somehow nothing special for the price as the taste of the meat was very much lost due to the other components. Now the reason for the bad rating. For dessert I ordered the cheesecake with strawberry sorbet according to the menu. Looks and tastes just great, until I noticed that I had received raspberry sorbet. When we asked why it was raspberry sorbet and not strawberry sorbet, we were told that there was probably no strawberry sorbet and that's why we didn't receive it. The waiter then disappeared straight away. I was very perplexed and initially accepted it because I also liked raspberries. When I thought about it afterwards, I thought that something like that was extremely unprofessional and not at all proper. I could have had a raspberry allergy in the worst case scenario. So a clear no go! The icing on the cake was that we “ONLY” tipped 2 people €18, which as students is quite a lot in my opinion and the waiter only said a quick thank you and left straight away and unfortunately didn’t even say goodbye. For the price and the unapologetic negligence this is not possible at all. You could have simply said that the ice cream was served automatically and had to ask if it was OK, which wouldn't be a problem would have presented, but serving it like that just doesn't work. For this reason I cannot recommend the Mash. There are much better restaurants in Hamburg that have just as good food for a better price with better service. Very unfortunate.

We chose the summer menu special. For 2 people €89 a delicious meal with the starter and dessert to share. The steak was tasty but had a tendon in it. "Unlucky". Unfortunately, the cocktails “intended as an aperitif” were only served after the starter! The ambience is pleasant and the background music is unobtrusive. The service is pleasantly reserved and yet available on request. We could have sat outside, but the street noise prevented us from doing so. The location right next to the fish market is great. We'd love to come back.

Sind mit Kleinkind zum Abendessen vorbeigekommen. Sehr spontan, aber macht nichts, denn das Restaurant bietet sehr viele Sitzplätze. Zur Küche: Wir sind klassisch mit Carpaccio in den Abend gestartet. Fleischqualität war sehr gut und auch die Dicke der Scheiben. Die Trüffelcreme hätte nicht unbedingt gebraucht, dafür waren aber die schönen Parmesanflocken perfekt dazu. Natürlich im Hauptgang dann Steak. Wir haben uns erstmal für das Uruguay Striploin mit Fries und Sauce Bernaise entschieden. Dazu ein kleiner Salat. Das Fleisch war vom Garpunkt wie gewünscht, aber das darf man auch erwarten. Allerdings... die Sauce Bernaise war der Star. Frisch aufgeschlagen, toller buttriger Geruch und wirklich perfekt abgeschmeckt! Als Dessert dann den hausgemachten Cheesecake mit marinierten Beeren und Himbeersorbet. Rundete den Abend sehr gut ab. Der Cheesecake war sehr gut und die Kombination mit Blaubeeren ist ein Klassiker. Zum Service: Es dauerte einen Moment bis wir die Karte bekamen und die ersten Getränke bestellen konnten. Leider gab es keinen Hochstuhl für Kinder. Würde erwarten in so einem großen Restaurant. Die Kellner und Kellnerinnen waren alke sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Wartezeit war aber schon lang bei drei Gängen und variierte sehr. Fazit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went over for dinner with a toddler. Very spontaneous, but it doesn't matter because the restaurant offers a lot of seats. To the kitchen: We started the evening the classic way with carpaccio. The quality of the meat was very good and so was the thickness of the slices. The truffle cream wasn't really needed, but the lovely parmesan flakes were perfect. Of course the main course is steak. We first decided on the Uruguay striploin with fries and Bernaise sauce. Plus a small salad. The meat was cooked as desired, but that's to be expected. However... the Bernaise sauce was the star. Freshly whipped, great buttery smell and really perfectly seasoned! For dessert, homemade cheesecake with marinated berries and raspberry sorbet. Rounded off the evening very well. The cheesecake was very good and the combination with blueberries is a classic. About the service: It took a moment until we got the menu and could order the first drinks. Unfortunately there was no high chair for children. Would expect in such a large restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were very nice and attentive. But the waiting time was long for three courses and varied greatly. Conclusion ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Everything perfect! Service was super nice, but a bit too fake

An expensive steak house close to the Elbe and to the entertainment areas of Hamburg. A wide range of high quality steaks. I had their beef burger which was really tasty and succulent. We were in a group in a private room. The service was good although I found it a bit over the top and a bit in the way. A good place to celebrate but not somewhere you would go on a regular basis.

We were there for the second time today. Mega steaks with great side dishes. It's great that Isabella took over the service again, simply competent and just such a beautiful person. Thank you for the great evening, we will always come back.

Das Restaurant alleine ist schon ein Erlebnis. Wunderschön elegant und edel eingetichtet. Hier wird in allen Belangen ein Steakerlebnis zelebriert. Der Service hat uns sehr freundlich begrüßt. Wir durften uns einen Tisch aussuchen. Sofort wurde uns frisch gebackenes Brot mit herzhafter Butter serviert. Wir entschieden uns für das Rib Eye-Steak mit hausgemachten Pommes und grünen Salat. Das Dressing zum Salat hatte eine Senfnote. Die Steaks waren perfekt Medium Well done gegrillt. Innen noch leicht rosa und saftig. Um den eigenen Fleischgemack nicht zu verfälschen, war alles recht sparsam gewürzt. Die Pommes auch. Dafür standen auf dem Tisch verschiedene Salzsorten. Außerdem wurde Kräuterbutter und verschiedene Dips gebracht. Die Gerichte waren großartig und wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das hat hier richtig Spaß gemacht.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting MASH Steak Restaurant in Hamburg and I have to say it was an absolutely outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in we felt warmly welcomed and excellently looked after. The atmosphere at MASH is elegant and modern, without losing any of its cosiness. The stylish furnishings and dim lighting create a wonderful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special occasion. The highlight of the evening was of course the food. The steak was simply outstanding – tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. The quality of the meat was second to none and the careful preparation made each piece a delight. The side dishes were also excellent: particularly noteworthy were the creamy mashed potatoes and crunchy vegetables, which complemented the steak wonderfully. The service was also first class. The staff was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Our questions were answered in detail and we felt well looked after the entire time. Not to be forgotten is the extensive wine list, which offers an impressive selection of fine wines. Our server helped us find the perfect wine to pair with our steak, which further rounded off our dining experience. All in all, our visit to MASH Hamburg was a complete success. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who values ​​excellent steaks and first class service. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We traveled to Germany from New York. So yes, we know Steakhouse quality. This place is exquisite. Beautiful atmosphere, server was super attentive and OMG the food made us forget about Peter Luger. Great cocktails and sides too. Have the world tour, and truffle fries. Life is good. Bon appetit!

These guys know what they’re doing. Owner is hands on. Takes calls at all hours and extremely knowledgeable about transmissions. Prices are excellent too.

Da meine Bewertung bei Google durch den Inhaber gelöscht wurde, hier noch mal der zweite Versuch aus Gründen der Meinungsfreiheit: wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert und sind zu viert zum Abendessen gekommen, nachdem die Vorspeisen normal serviert wurden, erhielten wir aufgrund von Verwirrungen in der Küche unsere Hauptgerichte mit 40 Minuten Zeitdifferenz - später wurde uns ein Espresso als Wiedergutmachung angeboten, den wir dankend ablehnen, in dieser Preiskategorie finde ich sollte so etwas nicht passieren, ich persönlich werde nicht wieder hingehen, für das, was man bekommt, ist es höchstens Mittelklasse.

Wir waren im Frühjahr zu viert im Mash. Die Bestellungen liefen leider nicht wie gewünscht; die Hälfte der Hauptspeisen wurde vergessen, trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage erst fast eine Stunde später gebracht. Der Service war sehr bemüht, aber überfordert. Alles dauerte ewig. Für den stattlichen Preis waren die Speisen (als sie denn kamen) aus meiner Sicht wirklich nur durchschnittlich. Das gibt es so inzwischen x- mal in der Stadt. Der Aufschlag auf den Wein war heftig, weit über 700%. Nun aber die Krönung: die sachliche Rezension meiner Frau, die in Sternen ausgedrückt entsprechend schlecht ausfiel, wurde auf Betreiben des Restaurants gelöscht. Wenn man so mit Kritik umgeht, spricht es schon Bände und anders ist aus meiner Sicht die durchweg gute Bewertung bei Google nicht zu erklären. Aber: der Barkeeper war super, die Drinks ne Bombe! Auf nen Drink würde ich wieder kommen, aber sicher nicht zum Essen; dazu gibt es zu dem Preis zu viele bessere Restaurants in Hamburg.

Very nice restaurant in a good location. The ambience is fantastic, background music at a pleasant volume. The steak was perfectly fried and the starters in particular were extremely tasty. We went there for dinner with the company. It was clear to me that as a vegan I wouldn't have the greatest variety to choose from. Nevertheless, I was able to choose a few variants. For the main course I ordered the pointed cabbage without cheese and was then served with the grated hard cheese. Since almost an hour had passed between the starter and the main course, I didn't order again, but removed the cheese from the pointed cabbage as much as possible and closed my eyes while eating... What was noticeable was that in about 5 hours that we were there in total, I wasn't even asked if I wanted something more to drink or if everything was okay. The waiters also behaved like barkers when serving and were unable to assign our orders to us guests. Of course I can't say anything about the meat, but in my opinion my colleagues and bosses were, on average, rather moderately impressed. The ambience is okay, although I find the decoration (e.g. a large picture of a fork wrapping spaghetti) rather strange for a steak restaurant, especially since there was no pasta dish on the menu. Well, to each their own - definitely not mine. Above all, mediocre service! Edit: I was threatened with a lawsuit via Google by a lawyer on behalf of MASH if I didn't either delete this review or prove that I was there. I then sent 2 photos and then heard nothing more. Of course, you can also whitewash your reviews and ratings in an aggressive way. I'm deducting another star for that.
