Very tasty food, steak was super tender... Service courteous and friendly. There were high chairs and something to paint for the children. We were there with 12 people and 2 children, unfortunately the seating was very limited.

Since we were “overlooked”, I can unfortunately comment further - apart from the ambience! I wouldn't have gone to the BH anyway due to the current "price policy", but my husband loves it... after today's overlook, it was our last BH visit... we were regulars!

Good restaurant with the option to eat outside. Good menu with a variety of dishes to choose from. We were very satisfied. Despite the good location in Hamburg, the price of the food was very good.

There is a new vegetarian/vegan dish, a vegetable quinia curry. Very very tasty. A good selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. Price-performance ratio is also very good.

Everything was really right here :) We had dinner here the day before yesterday and were very impressed. The staff is very friendly The food came quickly and was very tasty all in all top We would love to come back here.

So the food there is a joke. I thought I would get a children's meal, it was so little. Ridiculous and I really don't need much but I didn't get enough there.

This restaurant is not as good as expected, the steak tastes average. The environment is fine. The waitress who served us had a very poor service attitude. Because the cashier presented the wrong bill, the service staff had a bad attitude and without apology demanded to pay the difference between the new bill and the old bill. The young lady (Bettina) served us very kindly. Unfortunately, one point is deducted because it is slowly becoming too expensive and the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Both dishes + 2 drinks = 70€! Already intense... It also took about 10 minutes before we were noticed outside at the table.

The prices for steaks have now exceeded my personal pain threshold. Now I ordered a fitness pan to take away and unfortunately only realized when I got home that the meat was very tough. I don't think I'll be visiting the Blockhouse again anytime soon...

Very rude and inattentive service in the restaurant!!

Visited the Block House again after years and was unfortunately very disappointed. The selection of dishes has shrunk extremely, the portions are very small - but the prices are very high! The quality was also not what we knew before. The rump steak (our favorite steak) was only available as a dish and only in 180g - and unfortunately not as tasty as you are used to. So it happened that none of the four of us were really full and we had to double down on the desserts, which were very good. A pity. For us, the BlockHouse used to be the "epitome" of great meat dishes. Now there is little choice, small portions, average quality and expensive prices. Sorry, but in every other steakhouse you have more choice (also when it comes to the weight of the steaks), larger portions and sometimes cheaper prices.

I was there on a weekday around 5pm with my 2 children. The restaurant wasn't very busy, we were greeted and served very quickly. For the younger child there was also a coloring picture and lots of colored pencils. We wouldn't have to wait long for the food. As usual, the meat was of top quality and cooked to perfection. The sanitary facilities were also very well maintained. We will definitely come back very soon. Thank you

We had dinner there the day before yesterday and had a very pleasant evening. Our waiter Sunny was friendly and attentive. The service was excellent and we felt well looked after. All of our wishes were taken into account and we felt welcome. Many thanks to Sunny for this lovely evening! We'd love to come back.

We went to Block House Alstertal last week for our little daughter's birthday (she loves steaks). As always, a great stay. Delicious food, consistently good quality and great service. A big thank you to all the employees at Block House Alstertal! I would particularly like to highlight Bettina, who looked after us with extraordinary commitment last week. Thank you very much!

I haven't been to Block House in a very long time and I had very fond memories of the steakhouses in the past. Unfortunately, this time we were really disappointed overall. At the salad bar they hadn't bothered to pour the dressings from the supermarket packaging into a container. That seemed very cheap. My Mr. Rumpsteak was super tough, the potato gratin (side dish) used to be much larger and tastier. The cream mushrooms we also ordered (for €4.60) were not very seasoned and didn't look like fresh mushrooms. The portion was really tiny for the price. The vegetarian dish (baked potato) with bruschetta was more of a children's portion for just under 14. Overall, the selection of vegetarian dishes is small and they are rather boring. That seems a bit out of time. The second Mr. Rulpsteak and the fillet were good. The employee wasn't really friendly, I only get 4 stars because he responded to my complaint about the steak and bought me a cappuccino. We all agreed that the restaurant has developed significantly towards system catering and is too expensive for that. That's a shame, we used to like to go to Block House often, but for a similar price you can get better at other stake houses.

Blockhaus is an institution in Hamburg and you don't come across it when it comes to steaks. Not for the faint of heart, the cattle don't run away. Enjoy your meal

We had a good burger that wasn't served in a bun but on garlic bread. Tasted good!

I was in the Block House for the first time these days and what you immediately notice are the really nice and friendly staff. Unfortunately, this is hardly the case anywhere these days. The rest of the restaurant was also very modern and clean. Now unfortunately I have to address the big negative point. The food is an absolute no-go for the price. The meat of the steaks was completely bitter. In the end I really just choked it down. Given the prices, I expect delicious food. Even the spices couldn't dispel the bitter taste. And so did my children and my wife. It's a shame, the visit will definitely be a unique experience.

Not my favorite branch. I prefer to be in the Blockhouse Volksdorf. It's quieter there, I like the area better and parking/getting there is also easier. But apart from that, a normal log house with the well-known quality and everything. If you like Poppenbüttel and an AEZ shopping spree before/after, this is the right place for you.

If you want to eat quality meat in Hamburg, I recommend it. Very delicious.. Service is high quality... I can't say anything about the prices, we were invited by a friend of ours 😀 But I definitely recommend it. Portions were very filling. The salad was delicious. As for meat, I think there is nothing to say. If I ever come across it, I will definitely go again...

Go-to steakhouse. The steaks are super juicy and delicious. My only point is the small portions when it comes to the sides. For the price being quite high, I would love more for my money. The service and the restaurant itself is very good!

Very friendly and attentive staff. You feel very welcome in the restaurant and there is also a nice surprise for your birthday. The ambience is nice and cozy. The food is delicious so far. I think the prices are too expensive for the food and the size of the portions. The soups beforehand weren't that great. The fries could also have had more flavor. The steak was good. It would be nice if people asked how cooked the steak was.

Food was okay but not the best I have ever tasted. Waiter was not friendly and very hasty. Couldn’t wait to get our orders when someone was on the toilet. What confused me was then when we wouldn’t tip him because of the lousy service. He would lecture us about being polite and respectful. Even though he objectively didn’t deserve it. Thanks Sunny :/

The food at the Block House is always delicious, the steak always comes just as you ordered it. The staff are always very friendly and on special occasions you can also have a photo taken of you, which is then printed out on site. The Block House has been a place to go for years when you expect quality and service and really always get it.

The best block house I know. It's improved after the renovation, but there's not enough soundproofing, so it's often very loud.

Very good restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Mr. Yousofi made you feel comfortable with his always present but unobtrusive service. The steak, 350g, salad and the Austrian dessert made us happy people that evening. You'll be happy to come back!

We were able to stop at the Block House Alstertal for lunch today. Even without a reservation we got a table straight away. The food was really great, the fillet steak was a dream and the garlic bread was nice and crunchy. We felt very comfortable, which we owe above all to our waitress Bettina H., who looked after all the guests like a weasel. We felt like we were with good friends and would love to come back!! The level has fallen sharply. The steak was good, the gratin was almost cold, the garlic bread was totally soft and wobbly. The level of service staff leaves a lot to be desired. Expensive red wine is served in small, cheap wine glasses. This is an absolute no-go for wine connoisseurs! All of this no longer fits together in a restaurant where the fillet steak costs over €41.

We were here as a family of five people - including three smaller children. The service was attentive, warm and very family friendly. The children received pens and a pretty coloring picture straight away and were kept very busy until the food arrived. As a farewell gift, we were even given small wooden puzzles. The children's menu is top value for money. We adults were also very satisfied with our food and we found the prices to be very reasonable for the quality of the meat compared to other restaurants in the area. Thank you for the relaxed lunch as a family!

Normally I was always a huge fan of the Block House... but not much has been done... the ambience is like in the 90s, the service staff do their job well but not as convincing anymore (my personal feelings). The food is the same, only now it's even more expensive, and the portions are smaller, which makes it unattractive when you consider the competition.... on the whole, the Block House is an institution in Hamburg but time is running out... ....

Unfortunately the charm of a fast food restaurant. Even more expensive after the renovation than before. The steaks usually taste good and if you eat something, the service is friendly and you get a replacement.
