You must make a reservation if you go during peak hours or want a table outside on a good day. They have a children's menu that includes individual items and painting pencils, as well as well-priced options. The salads are also delicious. What fails is the meat (which claims to be its specialty). It's not very tasty, nor do they cook it that well. And the very high prices.

The side dishes are far too small. You won't get tired of it 🤷‍♀️ and the ambience has been the same for 50 years.

We were there for dinner today. Nice reception, attentive but not intrusive service. The food is always a BANK, you know what you're getting!🫶 The tartare was fresh, the rump steak was juicy and grilled to medium rare. Ice cream and hot rounded off the enjoyment. Dear Block House team, I would like to share my experience on my last visit to your restaurant. I have noticed that the quality of the food has significantly deteriorated. Although the food is still good, it is no longer up to the standard I experienced 30 or 40 years ago when I first ate at Block House. I recently went to Block House Othmarschen with my wife. It took almost 15 minutes for a manager to attend to us and offer us a table for two. Luckily we finally got a table. The waitress who served us was friendly, but there is an urgent need for improvements in the ambience and furnishings. The current furnishings appear old-fashioned and uninviting. These antiquated elements significantly reduce the overall result. I strongly believe that the Block House would benefit from a modern, contemporary design. A fresh ambience could significantly improve the overall dining experience and encourage guests to return more often. I hope my comments are helpful and can help make the Block House a fun place to spend time again.

The food is very good, but the service is simply outstanding! The waiters are very accommodating, quick and polite. The restaurant was completely full, the drinks were at the table after a few seconds and the salad was put together and served at the buffet by the waiter within two minutes. The food tastes as it should and the prices are extremely fair. Fantastic all around.

Yes, you go to Block House because you know what to expect. The map has few surprises, why? I would be happy about new dishes. In return you get the finest steak with delicious side dishes. The furniture also seems to have been there for what feels like decades, but everything is in perfect condition. Here too, a little innovation would be great. Best of the best is the service. Despite the restaurant being full, everyone is always super friendly and attentive. Orders are delivered promptly, thanks to the electronic ordering system. All in all, a recommendation with an exclamation mark ❗️

So "for a very good steak" I would go somewhere else. It was ok, nothing more, nothing less. Ordered T-bone steak medium: the outer edge was rather well done, the inner edge on the bone was almost raw - for 40 euros I have eaten much better pieces of meat.

Spät kamen wir nach einem Konzert erst gegen 22:30 Uhr. Doch was wir dann erlebten, gehört zum Erfreulichsten der letzten Zeit. Alles frisch (Salat!!!), tolles Fleisch, sehr gut gegrillt. Und ein Service, der mehr als zuwendend war, besonders als sich ein Fehler in der Küche eingeschlichen hatte und wir reklamieren mussten. Das ist wirklich hohe Schule, die man wahrscheinlich darauf zurückführen kann, dass das Blockhouse noch immer eigentümergeführt ist.

Vielleicht, es ist nicht gut dass ich ursprünglich aus New York City bin. Wenn man ein echt Steak möchtet, es gibt viele gut, berühmt Möglichkeiten. Here in Hamburg, the Bloc House chain is no comparison. Immer, leider, eine enttäuschen. Ja, der Wein war ok. But the steak looked like the temp of the grill or broiler was too low, and the piece was pretty thin, as it was. And, on top of everything, it was EXPENSIVE! For the steak, wine, and bruchetta, about €55. Way too much for the quality of what was served. Heh, there used to be a chain of cheap, budget steak houses in New York called Tad’s. Back in the day, maybe 6 bucks for a piece of meat. But what was thrown at you was a lot better than the €47 they asked for the piece that I was served. Don’t know what the price adjusted for inflation would be. Try the Arizona Steakhouse or other options. But forget the chain of Bloc House restaurants. Ok, maybe for a hamburger…

A very nice restaurant where we ate delicious steak menus. The steak was cooked to perfection as ordered, the garlic bread was excellent and the salad beforehand was crisp, fresh and delicious. Only the baked potato was a bit small and we ended up having to wait a long time for the bill. However, it would be disproportionate to deduct something from the overall ranking for this.

I ordered a burger and only got the patty. A colleague of mine also ordered a burger. There the patty was simply placed on the normal herb bread and both burgers cost €15 for the fact that you didn't even have a real burger, just meat on one. Plates really bad!

In fact, there are differences between the houses...the bruscetta was so delicious, generous and reasonably priced...keep it up...and show the other houses how it's done...parking spaces are unfortunately a disaster, completely unreasonably expensive and it's probably right in the city/district...it's difficult from outside...it's a shame!

Service ranges from fantastic to good depending on the staff. The ambience doesn't invite you to linger for a long time, here you just go through the motions. I like the burgers with good fries. The salad is rather bland. The steaks are not recommended, and the degree of doneness is not always right. For the money, what you get is pretty mediocre

Moin Folks, oh jaaaaaa, die Lage des Restaurants ist sehr perfektionistisch am Bahnhof und in schöner Zentrale Stadtteillage. Der Service sehr flott und die Auswahl an Speisen einfach Geilo Fleisch lastig. Hier bitte immer Tisch reservieren und genießen 😌. Wir waren zu fünft und Leckerschmecker.

I know this restaurant from before. You can eat great there. In summer you can sit outside nicely. The Block House in Othmarschen is always worth a visit for me when I visit my hometown.

Went here spontaneously in the evening (it was extremely full because the HSV game had ended shortly before)... we were warmly welcomed with our two small dogs and didn't even have to wait 3 minutes until the receptionist brought us to the table... Incredibly nice and courteous service, we have rarely been served so kindly and kindly by everyone! A big thank you for that, you really feel very comfortable!… and the food is also really great!! We'd love to come back ☺️

It all started when we made the reservation over the phone... there was a very empathetic and friendly employee on the phone... after a short wait we were assigned a nice spot... even though it was very full, everything went very well on time organized and the staff always friendly. The salad was super fresh and delicious 😋, the steak was grilled to perfection and the dessert was amazing... So we will come back...

We ate there with our family today. The service was nice, but the Spezi and Fanta were apparently extremely stretched with water... and no, it wasn't the ice cubes. The herb butter is no longer available with many steaks, the medium meat came out bloody and not as ordered. This may happen to one person, but it's annoying to 6 out of 8 steaks. It's a shame actually.... :-( ! Our conclusion... next time we'll go somewhere else.

We were there for lunch, quick, friendly service, delicious spare ribs, salad and fries, sauce was added free of charge upon request. Prices absolutely ok, 2x spare ribs + 2 drinks just over €30, the food was plentiful!

Full points rating. The service was incredibly great. My daughter received great advice as a vegan. Everything is made possible here, so that I can now visit the restaurant with her more often. The meat (Mrs Rumpsteak) was to die for. The salad was delicious.

Once again we dined in the old tradition at the Blockhouse on Waitzstrasse. As always, top quality, top team and the Blockhouse was full. Still, there was no rush and we felt very comfortable. St.Pauli and Rot Weiß Essen won, said hello to Caspar David and had a great meal... heart, what more could you want 😉

I am a huge fan of Block House and have eaten at one of their restaurants countless times. When I compare these with each other, the Block House in Othmarschen is the best for me. Friendly service and always top quality food.

When we stopped there in our white Vespas late in the evening on the weekend in the 1980s to eat garlic bread to go with our girlfriend, this block house was still cool. No more “new kids on the block” today, just gram-perfect steaks that are prepared to order and steak pepper shakers that have smaller holes. You get full.

Mion, I have been a guest for 25 years. Unfortunately I have to say that the quality of the meat has deteriorated. There's always no garlic bread. Prices are continually rising. Savings are made quietly. It's a shame I'll have to look for another location. Service is great as are the opening times. Greetings from a formerly very satisfied guest.

Moin Folks, hier in Othmarschen ist die Gastro sehr überschaubar und von daher ist dies direkt am Bahnhof der charmante Genuss-Fleisch-Tempel und was zeichnet das hiesige Restaurant aus??!?! Nun der super Service, immer sehr zügig und extrem verbindlich. Klaro, die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke, ach ja, die Steaksauce und Sour Cream und das Steak Gewürz, das ist neben dem Ketchup schon besonders, doch eher außergewöhnlich. Die Kinderfreundlichkeit, die Kunden, Gäste von morgen. Hier fühlt man sich schon beim Empfang sehr heimisch und beifolgende Bilder unterstreichen das ganze, Guten Appetit 😋

Mehr geht nicht. Die übliche, sehr gute Qualität des Essens, gepaart mit dem hervorragenden Service macht jeden Besuch im Blockhaus berechenbar gut. Die Kids werden immer mit Stiften (Anspitzer ist auch vorhanden), Papier und abschließendem Spielzeug verwöhnt. Wer Geburtstag hat, bekommt ein Glas Sekt mit Geburtstagslied und Sprühkerze.

Fleisch war ok (wenn auch nicht medium, sondern eher roh), Gemüse zu fettig und Kartoffel zu weich. Bedienung war freundlich, Preis-Leistung passt leider nicht. Ambiente ist nicht so toll (sehr laut).

Wir hatten nicht reserviert und haben trotzdem sehr schnell einen Platz bekommen, obwohl es sehr voll war. Essen war sehr gut, Service ( Herr Olschewski) unschlagbar. Hat trotz Hektik die Ruhe bewahrt und uns hervorragend bewirtet.

Moin Folks, sehr praktisch hier, anrufen und einen Tisch reservieren, klappt wie Faust aufs Auge, sehr präzise. Pünktlich da, etwas warten, aber vollkommen okay, weil hier in diesem Block House am Sonntag brennt die Hütte, nicht weil die Küche…..:, nein, hier warten Personen, Menschen, Leute auf ihren Tisch, warum wohl, weil es hier für alle Altersgruppen geilogalaktisch ist. Der Service ist wahrlich immer ein echter Traum und es funkt so gut. Im Grunde erscheinen und nach guten 50 Minuten bist Du komplett versorgt und damit kann man gut seinen Terminkalender perfektionieren und viel vom Tag und oder Abend haben. Guten Appetit und auf demnächst, hier gefällt es uns sehr.

Immer gleichbleibender Standard, allerdings wurden wir mehrmals darauf hingewiesen dass wir nach 1.5 h den Tisch räumen müssen. Das ist völlig unnötig denn das Essen ist ohnehin nach 30 Minuten auf dem Tisch... Das Steak ist aber nach wie vor erstklassig

Das Block House Othmarschen ist ein sehr schick eingerichtetes Block House. Der Service hier war wie zu erwarten super, man hat schnell einen Platz bekommen und wurde sehr schnell bedient. Auch nach dem Essen musste man nicht lange warten um zu Zahlen. Wie zu erwarten war das essen sehr gut, allerdings ist die Portion bei dem Bruschetta kleiner geworden, der Preis ist allerdings gleich geblieben. Das ist sehr schade, aber noch zu verkraften.

Sehr schönes Lokal. Angestellte alle äußert freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war nach nur kurzer Zeit in Top Qualität auf dem Tisch. Schwer begeistert, was wohl auch andere so sehen, denn Montag Mittag und das Lokal voll. Komme gerne wieder.

Mit einer Freundin zusammen hier essen gewesen. Tisch für 2 war kein Problem, Personal wirklich freundlich und aufmerksam. Es war relativ voll an dem Abend, leider dann auch sehr eng und laut. Die Maronensuppe für 6€ war lecker und angemessen für den Preis. Aber als ich die bestellten "Büsumer Krabben" (10€) bekam, musste ich wirklich innehalten. Sehr lieblos angerichtet. Ein halbe Zitrone, die man nicht vernünftig ausquetschen konnte. 2 Scheiben Schwarzbrot, angeröstet und daher sich schon biegend. Die Büsumer Krabben mit Dill und Radieschen gemischt auch einfach sehr lieblos auf den Teller "geklatscht" Kein schöner Anblick, lecker ja, ok. Aber das ist für den Preis eine Frechheit gewesen. Sorry.

Neben dem klasse Essen hatten wir mit Farima vor Allem eine tolle, sehr aufmerksame und Kompetente Bedienung. Freitag Abend, volles Haus und trotzdem super freundlich, nett Aufmerksam. Alle Sonderwünsche wurden richtig serviert. Einfach toll! Vielen Dank noch einmal dafür. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker. Wir waren mit einem befreundeten Paar dort und alles war okay. Das Personal ist immer bemerkenswert freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Ich war heute mit meiner Familie hier essen. Der Service ist top, besonders der Kellner Sandro Lal. Er hat einen unfassbar guten Gästeumgang mit perfekten Humor. Er lässt seine Kollegen zudem nicht zu kurz kommen und lobt diese in großen Stücken. Das Essen war auch wunderbar hergerichtet und serviert. Zeitlich war es unschlagbar gut. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Auch die Karte ist wirklich sehr gut geschrieben. Ideal auch für Vegetarier geeignet.

Die Kellnerin, die am 30.10. gegen 19 Uhr für die innersten Eckplätze (neben der S-Bahn Station) zuständig war, war sehr nett. Ich war bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mal dort.

Moin Folks, einen Tisch hier zu reservieren ist von großem Vorteil, da hier Block House sehr gut besucht wird und wir Kunden-Gäste es hier sehr lieben verwöhnt zu werden. Wir waren mit dem Service und der Qualität von der Reservierung, bis zur Bezahlung zufrieden. Das Mrs. Steak war mit 180g für unseren Hunger ausreichend. Etwas Fett daran gehört dazu, die kleine Sehne nicht unbedingt. Wir werden trotzdem wieder kommen! Service und Preis paßt!

Seit nunmehr 30 Jahren gehen wir in das Block House Othmarschen und haben im Verlauf der Jahre das immer kleiner werdende Block House Brot als auch die zum heutigen Tage, höchsten Preise für ein Mr. Rumpsteak mitgemacht. Nun ist das Ende einer langen Besuchszeit erreicht. Das Niveau der Bedienung, das präsentieren des Salates und das dann folgende Essen, entsprechen nicht dem Preis. Für 2 Personen, jeweils noch 1 Kaffee waren es 54€ Für was ? Wenn man den Steakpreis hochrechnet auf 1 Kilo, kommt man auf einen Preis von 108€. Ehrlich, für das Gefühl in einer Kantine zu essen einfach zu viel. Für uns war es das letzte mal das wir im Block House gegessen haben.

Ich hatte meine Mutter ins Blockhaus in Hamburg Harburg eingeladen. Sie war vor zwei Wochen im Krankenhaus wegen eines sehr niedrigen Eisenwertes im Blut und ich wollte ihr etwas Gutes tun mit einem schönen Stück Fleisch. Das Huftsteak war leider zäh und enthielt eine dicke Sehne. Wir reklamieren das und zur Sicherheit baten wir um ein " upgrade" - das Filet Mignon, was ja generell zarter ist. Leider war dieses Fleisch zwar nicht zäh, aber auch nicht zart und sehr stark nach Rauch bzw. künstlichem Grillaroma schmeckend. Die Ofenkartoffel wässrig und extrem weich. Die Chefin meinte, dass mit der Kartoffel wäre doch schön, dann kann man das gut auslöffeln und das Aroma sei spezielle Erdnusspaste. Da wir allerdings langjährige Blockhausgänger sind, kennen wir noch die Zeiten, wo das Fleisch pur, kross und geschmacklich besonders war. Die Chefin bot uns Kaffee oder eine Kugel Eis als Ausgleich an, aber wir waren satt und abends Kaffee vertragen wir nicht. Als wir nach der Rechnung fragten, sagte der Kellner noch mal: "Kaffee, Eis?" Ich sagte:" einen Ramazotti würde ich nehmen". Der kam dann mit 5,30 auf die Rechnung, ebenso wie 31,50 für das Filet Mignon. Das nenne ich einen ganz schlechten Service und enttäuscht mich sehr. Sabine Weber

American Tenderloin (medium) mit Pommes und Spinat bestellt, dazu Salat, sonst keine weiteren Extras. Salat wird anscheinend neuerdings mit Kohlrabi oder Rettich verlängert, muss man in dieser Form mögen. Von den Pilzen hat man sich bei Block schon längst verabschiedet, jetzt also Rettich oder Kohlrabi. Pommes und Knoblauchbrot waren lasch, Pommes wurden nach einer Anmerkung ausgetauscht. Das Fleisch war unterirdisch schlecht zubereitet. Von ‚medium’ weit entfernt und ein Drittel war so roh, dass es nicht mehr gegessen werden konnte. Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat die Anmerkungen aufgenommen. Getränke (Coke 0& Mineralwasser) wurden nicht berechnet. Reißt es nur nicht raus. Ich hätte lieber gut gegessen! Für fast 40 Euro erwarte ich Qualität, die hier definitiv fehlte. Kann die Lokalität in Othmarschen nicht empfehlen.

Wieder einmal guter, freundlicher und schneller Service vom Empfang bis zur Bezahlung. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Die ganze Familie war begeistert.

Normalerweise sind wir ein großer Block House Fan, da man einfach weiß was man bekommt für sein Geld. Dieses Mal war es jedoch leider bedingt durch die schlechte Fleischqualität ein etwas betrübtes Erlebnis. Enorm sehnige Rib-Eye Steaks und das bei dem teuersten Steak auf der Karte. Dazu kommt noch, dass reguläres Leitungswasser mit einem Preis versehen ist? Hat es die Familie Block so nötig?Nicht wirklich der gewohnte Stil! Nächstes Mal wohl eher woanders...
