BLOCK HOUSE Eidelstedt in Hamburg

It's still my favorite Block House branch; it's quiet and relaxed. The service is particularly good and friendly.

Yesterday, we went to lunch with the family at the Blockhaus in Eidelstedt. We usually enjoy going to the Blockhaus, and it's understandable that the lunch menu items are a bit smaller. This time, however, I can't say it any other way: what we were served was a disgrace. It was actually two tiny pieces of meat (the weekly special), with a rather small potato! At full price, of course. A disgrace. Nevertheless, I would like to mention that the service staff was exceptionally nice and extremely friendly! Truly great! But under these circumstances, we will look for another restaurant for shared lunches in the future where value for money is still good.

Great ambiance and super delicious food. The staff is very attentive and friendly, some even have a fun mood, which puts you in a good mood while eating. The restaurant is clean and wheelchair accessible. A definite recommendation.

We were at the Block House Eidelstedt on Saturday evening. The ambiance is typical of a Block House. I would like to emphasize the particularly pleasant service. Ms. M.'s attentive manner rounded off the evening for us. She happily accommodated all our requests and answered all our questions. She was accommodating all around. We felt like welcome guests. I think that's something to be said. I'm only deducting a small star because, unfortunately, the meat was a bit chewy. That can happen. Since the evening was otherwise so lovely, we didn't want to complain. We would be happy to come back and would happily recommend the Block House!

Unbelievable, it's getting less every day. Less than a cup. I suspect the future. People should just pay and go, because it's enough for us that they just hit.

Unfortunately, the steak wasn't medium rare and mostly rubbery. Last time wasn't exactly great either. Any run-of-the-mill Greek restaurant can do better, at significantly better prices and quantities. BlockHouse's good days are truly over. I won't be eating there again. The fries were okay, and so was the service, hence the 2 stars.

Hunger kept bothering me. It told me I needed a nice steak, a rib-eye steak. On the way back, I passed Eidelstedter Platz and knew there was a Block House. The Block House was pretty empty, with a few guests at four or five tables. I chose an empty one and waited for service. It took a while, about 15 minutes, for someone to come over. The waitress apologized for making me wait; she hadn't seen me when I came in. I ordered the large rib-eye steak for €34 with all the trimmings, medium. It didn't take long before it arrived and looked delicious, and I just thought, if you taste as good as you look, it's going to be a feast. The steak was very juicy, with just a few tendons here and there, and the nice fat border wasn't enough for me, so I like the rib-eye because of the fat border; it has a lot of flavor. What I didn't like was the horseradish that came with it. I eat horseradish with fish, but not with steak. The bread and the foil potatoes with Block House cream were great. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly. Finally, when I was finished, I tried to tease the waitress and said, "Please be so kind as to call the police, I ate well but can't pay." The friendly waitress looked at me with an expression on her face 😲 "A picture to the gods, you can't be serious," she told me at her age. Yes, even old people are hungry for a nice steak sometimes. I explained it to her and paid the bill.

The waitress was excellent. The drinks waiter forgot my drink and then handed it over the barrier to me because he apparently didn't feel like coming to the table. Unfortunately, the vegetables weren't crispy, very soft. The salad was very good. Great atmosphere, clean, and comfortable. 8 out of 10

Last week we ate at the Block House Eidelstedt, and I have to say, the staff was truly outstanding. Friendly, accommodating, and simply fantastic – many other restaurants could learn a thing or two from them! Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. It doesn't have much in common with the Block House I once knew, and I wouldn't eat there again at the moment. The staff is truly excellent, but the food was unfortunately not good...

I was at Block House in Vienna last week and had spinach gatinee with sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, it wasn't on the menu here. Too bad

My food was good for the price, but my partner's salad was a serious disappointment. The salad was poorly washed, had bits of dirt, wilted pieces, and cucumber peels, so it was poor for the price.

We were shopping in Eidelstedt today and took the opportunity to stop by Blockhouse. The waitress, Silke, was very nice and the heart and soul of the place. You immediately feel at home because she comes across as so natural. The food and drinks arrived quickly, and there was a children's menu and a coloring sheet for the kids. Everything was delicious. The prices could be a bit lower in general, but by now, people across the country are used to it. At the end, the children received a quartet of music as a gift to round off the lovely evening. We'll be back and are already looking forward to it.

Can't recommend it at all; we've been coming here for years and are always surprised by how crowded such a bad and expensive restaurant can be. My mother-in-law's birthday will still be celebrated there, though; that's what she wants. This time I was shocked by what was on the menu. Memorable record: "Tap water with ice cubes and lemon" 0.5 liters, €3!!! Seriously? I had the barbecue plate with rump steak, so little and so bad meat, the noise level was like a train station concourse, and the prices were like the red-light district. Sorry, mother-in-law, but next time, without me. 🤷 Two waiters were really super nice👍 Unfortunately, that doesn't change anything else. Oh, why don't they put the steak sauce and sour cream on the table beforehand? We always only get that after the meat and potatoes are cold. 🤦 Addendum: It wasn't just the price for 0.5 liters of tap water; there were significantly more flaws: the quantity and quality of the meat, sauces that unfortunately aren't served before the meal, and the noise level, which could be reduced very quickly, for example, with cheap and bright Plexiglas partitions. It doesn't matter to me in the future.

So far, this is my favorite Blockhouse in Hamburg. The fact that it's not in the usual central districts makes the staff even more attentive. I also find the decor, with its hint of an open kitchen, very appealing.

The food was – as you'd expect from a Block House – first-class: The steak was grilled to perfection, the baked potato was wonderfully fluffy, and the crisp salad was fresh and delicious. I would particularly like to emphasize the friendly and attentive service. The staff were very courteous, cheerful, and looked after us well all around – we felt truly at home. The ambiance was also perfect: cozy, clean, and pleasantly quiet, despite the busy restaurant. I'll definitely be back – a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy a good steak in a relaxed atmosphere!

Wow! There are still real restaurants where you're not shy and treated with respect from start to finish. This also means that the friendly waiters maintain their dignity, and you have great respect for their professional work. The food has been good for years, and the decor has thankfully never changed, creating a wonderful, woodsy atmosphere, a true log cabin. Great!

We first came here 3 years ago and were blown away. So, it was a no-brainer to eat here again during our current stay in Hamburg. And mmm, it was a real treat again 👌. The salads were fresh and crisp, the meat was simply perfect, and nothing else was left on the plate. The service level was top-notch, 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 superior for Christo, who was actually there for us again today, just like 3 years ago. He made the evening truly special again. Yep, Block House...was delicious and service very good

This was our first time at the Blockhouse in HH Eidelstedt and we were thrilled. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were immediately given a warm welcome by the counter staff and were able to choose a nice table by the window. We were quickly handed menus by a very friendly server. Our orders were taken in no time and Mr. Müller brought us our drinks very promptly. The food - we had two different steaks - was perfectly cooked and the salad and other side dishes were also superb. Sour cream was brought without being asked and we were asked again about other requests. We were thoroughly satisfied - the food was delicious and the service staff were extremely friendly. A big compliment to everyone and especially to Ms. M. who served us according to the bill. We sat at table 10. The only downside is that there is no Blockhouse in Bremen, which is a real shame! We have been waiting for it for decades but unfortunately nothing has happened. Then we'll just have to keep coming to Hamburg and come back to the Blockhouse Eidelstedt.

I was at the Block House in Hamburg-Eidelstedt today and I was completely thrilled. The food was excellent - especially the filet mignon and the baked potato with sour cream were prepared to perfection. The meat is tender and juicy, the potato is almost creamy on the inside – a real taste experience. But what really made this visit special was the service. I have rarely experienced such friendly, attentive and at the same time pleasantly reserved service. Here you can see that hospitality is practiced - a big thank you for that! I would love to come back.

The Block House name has always represented a high standard, and it continues to live up to its name! Not only is the steak of exquisite quality, the side dishes are also good. Whether it's crispy French fries or a crispy salad - it's just good. The service is friendly and accommodating, we would be happy to come back.

The food was delicious, there was really nothing wrong with it! But the portions... I had fillet medallions of beef with vegetables and the portion was really tiny. I like to eat high-quality meat often and I know what it costs. That was just a “joke” overall, sorry! Overall, the service was very nice and extremely accommodating! Thank you!

The food and service at this branch were just as perfect as at all the other restaurants in the chain. Unfortunately, it was quite busy on Friday evening (March 15, 2025), and the noise level from the customers was quite high. But that can't be helped. All the more admirable was how quickly we were served despite the busyness. Great!

I ate at the Block House for the first time today and have often heard good things about it. Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with the presentation of the dish. It was very unspectacular, so I would have expected a little more at €24. The taste was still delicious.

Staff didn't listen to the order. I ordered baked potatoes without sour cream with my meal. Of course it came with sour cream in the potato. I complained about it. In the end, too much was charged (2x turkey breast steaks 16 euros each, 1 coffee 3.50 euros + 1 cappuccino 3.70 euros, a total of 39.20 euros). Unfortunately, it wasn't until the evening that I realized that I had been cheated on. According to the waitress, the bill was 45.70 euros. I won't come back to a restaurant where you get shitty!!!!

Habe Backkartoffel ohne Sour Creme bestellt zu meinem Essen. Kam natuerlich mit Sour Creme in der Kartoffel. Habe es reklamiert. Am Ende wurde dann zuviel berchnet ( 2x Putenbruststeaks je 16.- Euro, 1 Kaffee 3,50 Euro +1 Cappuccino 3,70 Euro zusammen 39,20 Euro). Habe es leider erst abends gemerkt, das ich beschissen worden bin. Rechnung betrug lt. Kellnerin 45,70 Euro. Werde nicht wieder kommen in ein Restaurant in dem man Beschissen wird!!!!

A very cozy log cabin right on Eidelstedter Platz. It's still here the same as it was 20 years ago. Good food, friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. When we are nearby we like to come here to eat.

We had dinner with you today. The turkey steak was really a joke. My husband just looked at me in disbelief. A man can't get enough of that. 2 small, wafer-thin pieces of meat. At the next snack he treated himself to two sausages. It was really a mini portion.

For a steakhouse I was not satisfied with the Rumpsteak. It was chewy and didn’t came with the sauce I wanted. My girlfriend had the chicken but that was also super chewy. For me a NO GO for next time

I was here with 2 colleagues. The food was as expected, very good. Only the portions were a little too small for us or our hunger was too great. Each of us ordered 2 steaks.

Today the dish of the day was fish, more precisely fish fillet with rice and spinach, followed by salad. All for €12.90. The fish fillet was 1/4 of a fillet (extra small), enough rice, and medicinal-tasting creamed spinach.

Very nice, attentive service. We just wanted to grab something to eat, but ended up staying much longer.

The food is really great. The service is also 1A. The whole team is friendly and accommodating. I like Mr. Müller best. Mr. Müller is the reason why I always choose the Eidelstedt log cabin. We are always greeted with good humor and positivity by Mr. Müller.

Have often been to this restaurant with our elderly parents/in-laws. The reception is very friendly and personal, our wishes were always fulfilled to our complete satisfaction. For our parents, the visit is always a highlight and they are always very happy. Always happy to come back.😊

Unfortunately, the Block House has become very expensive. And I think €6.70 for a rhubarb spritzer is very excessive

Super nice, friendly and competent staff. The food (I mainly eat filesteak here) is almost always on point and always delicious. Exchanging inserts and special requests are no problem and I find the prices to be fair. Came and would love to come back here.

Block house is a phenomenon. Decor and concept from the 80s, but full from 4 p.m. until closing time because it's delicious and the service is good. Would love to come back.

Everything was great. The first steak was not medium rare as requested. But it was corrected immediately. I got a whole new plate straight away. My companion was also asked if she wanted everything new because she waited until I received my food back. Eating at the same time, etc. Very professional. Definitely coming back 👍🏽
