Had very tasty beef roulade with red cabbage and bread roll. Elderberry panna cotta was also delicious. A recommendation!!! 😋

Our “round” birthday party was excellently organized and looked after by the team. We would like to thank and recommend the St. Benno Restaurant.

Spontaneously spent a wonderful afternoon with nice people from Meißen and the boss himself... Here we not only cook well, we also take care of our customers! The time flew by and I felt very comfortable! Gladly again...

As day guests in one of the most beautiful cities in Saxony. An absolute recommendation is St. Benno am Markt. Great quality of food and great service staff! Highly recommended!

Positiv ,alles frisch gekocht. Sympathische Bedienung Waren gar nicht so vorbereitet . Waren am Mittag auf der Suche nach einen kleinen Snack , wurden sehr positiv überrascht .

We just wanted to eat some soft ice cream. First we had to wait 5 minutes because the employee had to put away ice cream cups and there was a big "groan" even though there were at least 10 left. Then we got a medium ice cream for €3.50, which is a steep price for the fact that the cone was empty. And the ice cream was very tasteless. A few days later in Dresden we got soft ice cream - medium portion - for €2.50 and the waffle was filled. So I can't recommend the soft ice cream, neither in terms of taste, price-performance ratio nor service.

The food was below average, although it looked attractive. The liver and mashed potatoes are completely tasteless.

Well, looking at the other reviews, we were probably unlucky with the food. Hopefully it was just because the restaurant would be closed for some time the next day. In detail: Currywurst really tasty Pork schnitzel with chanterelles quite ok. The schnitzel looks very good from the convenient packaging The pork steak was very watery and bland. The side dishes of fried potatoes and hash browns were probably not homemade either. Dessert: Elderberry panna cotta with really delicious. Best of all! The Black Forest cup for 10.00 is served in a plastic cup. Simply horrible! Service: Fast and friendly. Ambiance: The backyard is quiet and hospitable. Price-performance: medium

After a long time I visited the Sankt Benno again and was more than satisfied. I tried a delicious schnitzel with chanterelles, which was excellently prepared. The dish was not only delicious in terms of taste, but also attractively presented. The staff was first class - friendly, attentive and always concerned about the well-being of the guests. I would particularly like to emphasize the cleanliness of the toilets, which seemed very well maintained. The Sankt Benno offers high quality German food at fair prices. Here you really get what you pay for: excellent cuisine and a pleasant stay. I can recommend the restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had dinner at St. Benno again and it was an absolute pleasure! The beef roulade was extremely tender and delicious – really excellently prepared. The service was first class, friendly and attentive. The absolute highlight was the panna cotta, which was simply irresistible. I would love to come back and can only warmly recommend the restaurant!

We were here. Wonderful outdoor space in the backyard. Extremely friendly service. Good conversations. There was brawn for the wife and liver for me. Delicious food prepared with love and passion. Plus a good wine. Gladly again and again!

Absolutely recommended, there were five of us and we were warmly welcomed! We were thrilled by the idyllic garden, which was very quiet and beautifully done at the back! The food we ordered was very tasty and we can only recommend it!!

If you want to watch what's going on in Meißen, sit at the tables in front of the restaurant and if you want to feel some peace and holiday feeling, you have great opportunities to linger in the beer garden at the back. We got a nice table in the backyard for lunch. The ambience is great. We had the schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes, but I actually thought the schnitzel was run of the mill and the potatoes weren't great. But the asparagus and the sauce were great… my lady had the salmon tartare with potato rosti. That was super tasty! The tomato soup was also great. The rump steak was also really good! All in all, all the plates were nice to look at. The service was average. Would go again

Today I ate the best liver of my life here. The service is super friendly and the atmosphere at the market is wonderful. There is also a cozy beer garden.

After all, it's a restaurant where you cook and don't just heat up the finished products. I have to admit, this is the best beef I've ever eaten in Meissen. Red cabbage is excellent. Quark legs are delicious and, above all, made on site. A recommended restaurant. We will be back definitely. Greetings to the kitchen 😊

Als Zwischenstopp am Elberadweg, halt und die Auswahl am Markt war gross. Die Entscheidung hier rein zu gehen, war korrekt und lecker. Essen nett angerichtet, lecker und ausreichend. Service ohne Tadel und sehr persönlich.

This evening we were in the yard for the first time. It's quiet there, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Service quick, attentive and friendly. The food tasted really good.

Great to sit outside overlooking the busy market. The spiced meat was delicious and just right for a small hunger! Friendly and quick service.

Very nice, good middle-class restaurant, inside and out. However, we were at the back on the terrace where you can eat in peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the old market. Very nice and friendly staff. We once had the smoked salmon tartare, which was very tasty, and the beef roll, which was very tender and the sauce didn't just consist of fat. It was worth a visit and I would dine there again at any time.

According to the menu, I ordered a juicy sirloin steak medium rare for €28.40. I received a lukewarm piece of meat that was neither juicy nor medium rare. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The cook, and probably also the boss, was less insightful. He is probably so convinced of his work that I was presented with the same piece again with the bad characteristics. Well, that's his business, but he has two fewer guests on our annual visit to Meißen. But he probably won't notice. Subterranean quality for the price.

After a very funny carriage ride, the friendly coachman recommended the “Bennohaus” to us. Super good, regional food at fair prices. The quiet inner courtyard allows you to really switch off. Gladly again.

St. Benno is one of my favorite restaurants because you always feel like you're in good hands here, the food is simply delicious and the ambience in the heart of a historic old town is simply unbeatable. Keep it up!

On our trip to Meissen today, we had a purely coincidental encounter with the innkeeper and owner. Over a cup of hot apple juice, we had a nice conversation. The kiosk on the market square offers delicious food Bratwurst, game and curry bratwurst. There are also various cold and hot drinks. The homemade curry sauce is awesome! We recommend! Good luck and lots of guests!

Heute haben wir den Meißner Weihnachtsmarkt besucht und den Gänse Burger gegessen. Eine sehr gute Wahl, qualitativ hochwertige Zutaten und sehr lecker. Eine wunderbare Alternative zu den sonst üblichen Speisen auf den Märkten. Viel Erfolg Euch weiterhin.

Ein wunderschön gestaltetes Restaurant. Es ist in einem Kellergewölbe eingerichtet mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail. Der Service sowie die Küche sind sehr gut und für die Lage sind die Preise auch echt in Ordnung.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant direkt am Marktplatz von Meißen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Leute im Service machen ihren Job prima. Ein Besuch ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Die Atmosphäre im Keller war urig und das Essen schmackhaft. Allerdings waren wir vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht so begeistert. Die Portionen waren im Vergleich zu dem in der Gegend Üblichen eher klein und vier schmale Brotstreifen zur Suppe kosteten EUR 2 extra.

Bedienung zuvorkommend und freundlich. Zügige Bedienung. Getränke und Essen ließen keine keine Wünsche offen. Können wir gern weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren als Familie zum Mittagessen und es war echt lecker. Sehr freundliches Personal und wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Service gut, schnell und aufmerksam. Essen gut, es gibt eine Karte vor 15 und nach 15 Uhr. Die "vor-15-Uhr-Version enthält z. B. ein Gericht mit geb. Rundleber, die Abendkarte nicht. Aktuell gibt es einen Federweiser. Sehr süß und bekömmlich. Lokal befindet sich vor der Frauenkirche und somit Mitte in der unteren Altstadt. Bei Feierlichkeiten ist man mittendrin. Preislich völlig in Ordnung.

Ate lunch here. Smoked Salmon Tartare with salad, plus some cucumber and potato salad. Both were very pleasant to eat. Just as I would expect for a lunch service in a German tourist town. Service could have been a lot quicker. Waiting staff seemed rushed. Worth a visit if you’re passing by.

Sehr ruhiger schattiger Hinterhof mit zuvorkommend Servicepersonal. Wunderbar leckere Tomatensuppe mit Mozzarellakugeln und Sahne überzeugte ebenso wie die wunderbare Wildwurst mit Kartoffelstampf und Weißkraut. Auch geht das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in Ordnung.

Wir hatten hier eine Familienfeier. Der Staff und auch der Chef waren jederzeit ansprechbar, freundlich und bereit zu helfen, sogar über das Normalmaß hinaus. Eine tolle Erfahrung!! Das Essen war mehr als ausreichend und lecker. Alles in allem: gutes Essen, große Auswahl, kompetente und freundliche Bedienung - was will man mehr?

Bei heißen Sommerwetter kann man das frisch zubereitete Essen und die kühlen Getränke auf einem idyllischen Innenhof bei angenehmen Temperaturen genießen. Aus dem Nachbarrestaurant hört man die italienischen Betreiber plaudern. Was brauch man mehr an einem tollen Sommertag. Und zum Abschluss ein kleines " Schwätzchen" mit dem Wirt. Leider erlebt man immer seltener solche Kneipen Erlebnisse. Danke an das gesamte Team für die schönen Stunden.

Wir waren auf dem Weg von Dresden nach Hause noch in Meißen. Dort führte uns der Weg zu Bennos Gewölberestaurant. Eine sehr gute Wahl. Ein schöner, ruhiger, schattiger Innenhof und tolles Essen. Dazu freundliche Bedienung und ein sehr gutes Gespräch mit dem Inhaber. Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder.

Preislich angemessen - teils sogar etwas günstiger als ringsum / Mittagessen absolut 1A sehr schmackhaft - nicht zu salzig und nicht fettig / jegliche Variationen möglich - Standard, Vegetarisch, Vegan, etc. / Ambiente ebenso spitzenmäßig - egal ob drinnen oder Terrasse. Klare Empfehlung!

Essen gut, gemütlicher "Garten* hinter dem Haus der bei den Temperaturen über 30 Grad etwas Abkühlung geboten hat. Liebevolle junge Dame (aus lby) als Bedienung, ich hoffe die Inhaber wissen das zu schätzen in der Zeit wo man kaum Kräfte für den Service findet.

Ресторан расположен на ратушной площади, недалеко от замка Альбрехтсбург. Большое количество столиков на террасе. Комфортабельные стулья. Заказ принесли очень быстро. Наш заказ: 1. Kräuterrahm-Pfifferlinge auf Kartoffel-Gnocchi mit Barlauch-Pesto - картофельные клецки с грибами лисичками в сочетании со сметанным кремом и соусом песто, очень нежный вкус, в меру специй. 2. Saftiges Rinderhüftsteak - glutenfrei mit frischer Bärlauch-Kräuterbutter, Röstkartoffeln & Salatbouget - я выбрала стек medium rare, мясо было сочным, дополнением был картофель по-селянски с красной паприкой ( просто объедение ), маринованный редис и листья салата. Оба блюда были очень вкусными и большими порциями. 3. пирог Eierschecke - напоминает сырный чизкейк. В меру сладкий, мягкий. 4. Мороженное - красивая и интересная подача, но вкус самого обычного из магазина. Общий счёт вышел на 63 евро. Сервис отличный, но один минус, что практически никто из персонала не говорит на английском. Общее впечатление хорошее.

Absolut leckere Speisen, super freundliche & zuvorkommende Bedienung, herrliches Ambiente inmitten der historischen Wahrzeichen der Meißner Altstadt. Wir kommen jederzeit gern wieder!

Wildbratwurst mit Sauerkraut und Erbspüree war lecker. Allerdings war die Bratwurst für den Preis von 17,00 € sehr klein. Für den Preis hätte ich schon eine ordentlich große Wurst erwartet.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in Meißen und waren den ganzen Tag unterwegs und wollten den Abend ruhig ausklingen lassen und dachten wir gehen noch ein Eis essen bevor es wieder nach Leipzig geht, mein Freund fragte höflich ob wir noch ein Eis bekommen, wir setzen uns und hatten von Anfang an das Gefühl zu nerven, Problem nur wir waren die einzigen Gäste, verstehe nicht warum man da so genervt sein kann, vielleicht haben wir beim nixtun gestört?! Wir bekamen unsere Eisbecher in Original DDR Eisbechern, das war der Hit 😅 das Eis schmeckte auch nur der Kellner beobachte einen ständig als wären wir lästig, meinem Freund ging das dann irgendwann auf die Nerven..zu anderen Gästen war er nicht so..kein guter Eindruck beim ersten mal.. vielleicht kommen wir wieder aber nur vielleicht..

Ein Restaurant, was viel zu sehr unterschätzt wird! Es gab nichts auszusetzen, der Spargel und die altdeutsche Buttersoße waren die besten, die ich jemals in einem Restaurant gegessen habe. Das Rinderhüftsteak wurde vorab Sous Vide gegart und dann zu meinem gewünschten Gar-Grad auf den Tisch gebracht. Der Service ist stets aufmerksam und sehr sympathisch! Es wurde etwas kälter und er brachte uns Decken. Auch der Chef ist ein herzensguter Mensch! Immer ein nettes Wort parat und aufmerksam seinen Mitarbeitern gegenüber. Den Andrang in umliegenden Lokalen, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Dort hatten wir immer wechselhafte Erfahrungen und kommen deshalb nur noch hier her! Sowohl als Besucher, als auch als Bewohner der Stadt Meißen, sollte jeder unbedingt im St. Benno einkehren! Als kleiner Geheimtipp: Der hausgemachte Kuchen ist absolut lecker und empfehlenswert! Auch die berühmte sächsische Eierschecke ist hier erhältlich und hat nicht den typischen "Groß-Bäckerei Geschmack"!! Ebenso gibt es leckeres Eis ! Für die Vegetarier ist auch einiges geboten! Wir kommen wieder!

The restaurant was empty when we arrived (early evening) but quickly filled. The food was excellently prepared and the waiting staff were very attentive. The dining room was in the pleasing style of Meissen itself ( a kind of Protestant baroque - never knew there was such a thing until this visit to the town). A good time was had by all three of us. Saxony at just about its best.

Zuerst das Positive: Der Kellner war aufmerksam, freundlich und humorvoll. Weniger überzeugend war das Essen - die Portionen waren von der Menge her recht übersichtlich, besonders beim Fleisch war der Koch doch ziemlich geizig. Der Kellner erklärte dazu dass das Fleisch abgewogen würde. Wahrscheinlich braucht man dazu eine Apothekerwaage. Der Spargel war schon etwas über den Punkt gekocht. Auch da war die Menge angesichts des Preises für das Essen eher enttäuschend. In der Nähe gibt es Gaststätten die mehr für weniger Geld bieten. Empfehlenswert zum Beispiel das"Gasthaus zur Altstadt". Ebenfalls nervig ist, dass die Toiletten verschlossen sind und man jedes Mal den Schlüssel holen muss
