We had a room with a view of the Elbe and the busy main street. The windows were doubled, so no street noise could be heard when the windows were closed. Definitely very loud in summer with the windows open. Rooms are clear and everything is available, also very clean. Beds medium soft, but OK. The catering is very good and everything depends on the service and the extremely great and courteous employees. This is the greatest asset of this house. Limited parking spaces are available in the yard. Everything in Meißen's sights can be reached on foot from there. My absolute recommendation.

Für eine Feier, bzw ein Klassentreffen absolut nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Wir hatten gestern 2.10.2024 unser Klassentreffen dort. Nicht zum 1. Mal. Wir hatten Monate zuvor vorbestellt. Nach 21.30 Uhr wurden wir alle abkassiert und zum austrinken aufgefordert. Wir schließen heute um 22.00 Uhr!!! Wir waren gerade alle so schön in Gesprächen untereinander. Obwohl auch die Gasstätte noch gut besucht war, wurde tatsächlich um 22.00 Uhr zu gemacht!!! Wir als große Truppe, hätten mit Sicherheit noch gut Umsatz gemacht. Es war nicht unser erstes Klassentreffen dort, waren sonst immer zufrieden. Aber definitiv war das unser letztes Klassentreffen in dieser Location.

Very nice location near the Elbe with parking right in front not far from the city center. Restored and beautifully designed courtyard with seating for summer visitors. Bourgeois cuisine with affordable prices.

We wanted to spend a nice, cozy evening with honest, good, regional cuisine as the culinary highlight - and that was a complete success here. Super nice staff, delicious food, fair price/performance ratio. It couldn't have been better! We'll definitely be back!

Very tasty food, we ate knuckle, sauerbraten and lamb and everything was great. We were lucky to get a spot in the anchor. Next time we would like to go to the blacksmith shop. Nice atmosphere with very good cuisine 👍👍👍

We were here for the first time, ate very well, value for money was great. Particularly noteworthy is the very friendly staff, who were helpful and competent. Other restaurants can learn a lesson from this. We had a lovely evening and would love to come back.

Leider waren wir nicht überzeugt vom Restaurant, Tischbestellung war nicht so einfach da wir gern draußen sitzen wollten, uns wurde versprochen man schiebt uns 2 4er Tische zusammen nix passierte, zum Schluss hat man uns einen 4er Tisch mit 3 Stühlen, für 7 Personen angeboten, obwohl mehrmals Tische draußen frei wurden, die man hätte uns geben können, wir waren echt sauer!!!! Bei über 30 C drin mit stickiger Luft zu sitzen, Mein Essen war nicht besonders, es fehlte an Gewürzen, Butter es fehlte einfach der leckere Geschmack schade, Preis / Leistung mit der Pirtionsgrösse stimmte nicht!!! Essen dauerte 1,5 h bis es kam, Getränke wurden auch nicht wirklich nachgefragt, unsere Stimmung sank in diesem stickigen Raum. Schade wir hätten gern mehr gegessen und getrunken und wären gern bis 23:00 geblieben, aber wir wurden regelrecht ignoriert!!!!!

We came here for dinner as a large group. Super friendly and courteous service. Food was delicious, there was something for everyone. The children were served first, great! I have nothing to complain about!

Were with the club at the weekend. Beautiful old guesthouse, centrally located on the banks of the Elbe and not far from the center. Nice staff, rooms OK, parking space on site. I have a woman with walking difficulties and were immediately given a room suitable for disabled people, even though it wasn't requested. Thanks for that. Gladly again. Best regards Edgar Hepner

Restaurant located outside the old town, very well attended, food freshly prepared, very attractively presented, tastes great, there is a professional at the stove, service is very quick, friendly and considerate, price/performance is absolutely top. We can only recommend it.

As always, it was a very nice visit. We always meet here with extended family and have never been disappointed. A big thank you to the whole team. Even if everything doesn't go smoothly, everything is designed perfectly with a lot of enthusiasm so that we feel comfortable here. Nice little courtyard where you can sit very well. The rooms are also recommended. Not only is there a nice breakfast, it's also practical to sleep in the wonderful beds right here.

We (4 people) had a very good meal here. My meal (farmer's breakfast) was super tasty. The pub is very rustic inside, so you feel very comfortable with good, German home cooking. Despite the busyness, the staff were relaxed and always had a smile on their faces.

We were there for a birthday party. Very nice location with a great courtyard. The restaurant is located on the outskirts of Meissen, not far from the Elbe. Parking spaces directly in front. The service is very friendly and the food tastes excellent.

We went through the entrance to the restaurant “zum goldenen Anker”. The ambience, the first impression, the local conditions really invited us because we like rustic, historical (old forge) impressions. When we entered the “dining room” in the back, we were greeted (unfortunately there was no smile) and we were allowed to choose between two tables. We really liked the rooms. We order our selected food and drinks. The warm dishes tasted good (but we strongly assume that the meat was finished products). A roll was delivered with the “colorful cheese plate with baguette”. At that price I would have expected at least a baquette, but at least I got a roll when I asked. Afterwards we ordered an iced coffee and an iced chocolate and received it quickly. The scoops of vanilla ice cream in the coffee weren't great, there were pieces of frost in the small scoop, which wasn't tasty. The iced chocolate tastes like cheap cocoa from the discount store, we're not talking about the cream. We experienced it once, but we won't be back. Price-performance is not justified.

As cyclists coming from Dresden on beautiful Easter Sunday, we were hungry and thirsty. Having fond memories of a previous visit, we headed specifically for this beautiful location. Upon request, the friendly waitress allowed us to park our bikes in a corner of the beautiful courtyard. So we had a good view of them from the cozy table in the courtyard. We quickly got our unleaded, well-chilled beer 🍺. From the extensive menu we chose the fish platter 🐟 with fried potatoes and a fresh side salad. After a reasonable wait, we were served this tasty meal. Four types of fish, beautifully fried, were served on homemade fried potatoes. The taste is very appealing and we can only recommend this dish. The whole house seems friendly, the staff is courteous. We'd love to come back. 😀

We were here for dinner and overnight stay. A table was reserved for us in the old forge. The atmosphere there is quaint! The friendly and courteous service spoiled us. There are also small meals for people like us who don't want to eat such huge portions in the evening. For example, I had a delicious schnitzel with fried egg and bread for €9.50! Our room was very nice, clean and contemporary! We hereby recommend the guesthouse and the restaurant!

Rating for Alte Schmiede We wanted to have a girls' night out and looked in vain for a restaurant in Meißen that was open on a Wednesday evening 😅 After a short phone call at 5 p.m. sharp, I was able to reserve a table for 6 p.m. We were greeted in a friendly manner and were given time to browse the menu. After ordering the food, we had our food on the table within 15 minutes - it was very Delicious, the atmosphere is really rustic and we would love to come back The service was very friendly and attentive, thank you for that🙏

I can only confirm the previous reviews. I celebrated my 60th birthday and was really happy that I chose this restaurant. Coordination in advance worked perfectly, the evening was very nice with great food and atmosphere. Many thanks again to the kitchen. After the successful celebration, the out-of-town guests were able to sleep beautifully upstairs. The breakfast in the morning was prepared with a lot of love. And finally, the final bill surprised me very positively.

Good and creative cuisine, wonderful wines, nice atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Friendly service who shows humor and thinks for themselves. Class. You can also organize family celebrations here.

Had dinner at Anker on Saturday. The table was ordered, everything was wonderful. Fast, very friendly waitress and food tasty as always! I ordered a class meeting there in the fall and I'm happy about it. There are hardly any opportunities to do this in Meißen. More and more restaurants are closing. Everyone actually knows why.

Wir sind spontan zum Abendessen dort eingekehrt und wir sind sehr froh darüber! Das Essen war hervorragend. Ob Rehbraten, Lende mit Pilzen oder Schnitzel. Alles war sehr lecker. Das Ambiente ist sehr urig und ansprechend. Man hat sich dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag zum Mittagessen mit 14 Personen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und sehr bemüht. Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker und innerhalb kurzer Zeit auf unserem Tisch. Der Gastraum und auch die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr gepflegt.

Sehr nettes Personal und freundlich. Wir kamen ohne Reservierung und bekamen trotzdem einen schönen Platz angeboten. Unser Hund durfte auch seinen Durst stillen. Essen super lecker .Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Ulli-und-Micha aus Potsdam.

Waren heute, 16.12.2023, mit 4 Personen beim Mittagessen. Ein schönes Lokal, nette und auch noch hübsche Bedienungen. Das Essen war außerordentlich gut und die Preise moderat. Wir können das Lokal sehr empfehlen und kommen demnächst wieder.

Meine Meinung betrifft nur das Restaurant, ich hatte keine Gelegenheit, das Hotel zu nutzen. Ich gebe 4 Sterne weil wir nur Soljanka gegessen haben. Es war lecker und die Kellnerin war sehr nett. Ein sehr intimer Ort mit einer schönen Atmosphäre. Wir kommen bald wieder, um einige Gerichte zu probieren😉

Ein kleines Hotel und Restaurant mit gut bürgerlichen Gerichten zu fairen Preisen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und für normale Ansprüche völlig ausreichend. Das Frühstück ist Reichhaltig in Buffet Form. Zur Lage, das Hotel liegt direkt an der Elbe und wird von dieser durch eine Bundesstraße getrennt. Wer Lärm empfindlich ist und bei offenen Fenstern schlafen möchte, sollte versuchen ein Zimmer zum Innenhof zu bekommen. Dieses Mal hatten wir eine der Ferienwohnungen und auch hier war ich zu frieden.

Eine gutbürgerliche, deutsche Küche, die ehrlicher nicht sein kann!! Super Essen und keine "Tüten-Dosen-TK-Fertig-Speisen". Dazu eine gepflegte Atmosphäre und vor allem eine zuvorkommende und nette Bedienung!! Ich kann dieses Lokal nur weiterempfehlen!! Bitte weiter SO, denn wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!! Sehr freundliches Restaurant mit sehr guter Küche. Das Personal war sehr bemüht, trotz vieler Gäste, einen Tisch für uns zu finden.

Leckere deutsche Küche. Es gestaltet sich etwas schwierig, wenn der Laden voll ist die Zeit zwischen Bestellung und dem Essen auf dem Tisch zu überbrücken.
