Great space (we were upstairs with about 20 people), great food (we had everything from potato soup to beer goulash, trout, asparagus with salmon/schnitzel and sauerbraten to red fruit compote, egg yolk, and apple strudel), a good/extensive wine list and beer selection, and truly attentive and friendly service staff (from apprentices to "old" journeymen). 👍 First address when I'm in the area again!😉

A fantastic restaurant offering breathtaking views of Meißen's old town from its terrace. Perfect for lunch with generous portions - they even provide binoculars to admire the historic cityscape in detail! Must-try: their incredible Schweinehaxe (pork knuckle). The combination of great food, amazing views, and unique details makes this a top dining experience in Meißen.

Nice location; the duck was great (just a little bit of sauce), the goulash in the bread was tasty, but the quality of the meat was poor (WAY TOO FAT!!!)

A very nice, atmospheric restaurant near the castle, it is worth going inside and reaching the terrace from which you can see the city from above, it tastes better in such a setting. For beer lovers, the price is higher for 0.5 liter than in the market.

Very nice atmosphere with a wonderful view of the old town of Meißen and of course you can also see the Elbe from up here. The meal was excellent. We were allowed to take our little dog with us to the table. Afterwards we took a look at the Albrechtsburg castle. We parked below the castle and used the elevator...

I don't agree with the average rating of 4.6. For me it was “without ifs and buts” 5 stars! We had reserved and were assigned a table in the canon room, right by the window with a view of the panoramic terrace. The welcome plate with my name was a real hit and we were also warmly welcomed by our waitress. Drink requests were received and served promptly. My cellar beer is fantastic! The selection on the menu is large enough that everyone should find something. I chose the crispy pork knuckle and was rewarded with a delicious dish. There were four of us and there were only words of praise from everyone. My conclusion: an attractive, cozy restaurant with smart service and tasty dishes. So full marks for this place of hospitality and THANKS to the Domkeller team!

Always nice to be here. The dishes are very tasty, there is a good selection of classics, but also exciting seasonal dishes. The service is always very nice. The wine list suits the region and is also recommended.

We were in the cathedral cellar some time ago. The food was really tasty, well prepared and the service was super good. The view is also great. After our bike tour, this was just the thing. Gladly again.

6 people, reserved, dense crowd in the narrow entrance area, everyone had reserved. It seemed a bit disorganized. Then everything went quickly, ordering...drinks, but then...do you really throw beer mats over the table? Except for my son's pasta, the food was very good. Some of his noodles were really hard. In return he got ice cream for free and the pasta wasn't charged. Thanks for that. Rear guest room poorly ventilated. Personally, I didn't think the price-performance ratio was justified. Improvement desired. Thank you.

Mega location, it is advisable to reserve a table in advance, preferably on the terrace to enjoy the full quality! We would love to come back and can only recommend it!

The cathedral cellar has a very beautiful view over the whole of Meißen. Unfortunately, when we visited the restaurant it was too cold to sit outside. So we took a seat in the equally picturesque interior. We were treated excellently there - the staff were extremely friendly, courteous and attentive. We felt very welcome. The food also tasted fabulous. It was perfectly seasoned and the portions were filling. My personal highlight was the dessert. The three of us shared a dessert and the kitchen seemed to serve us a larger portion. The cathedral cellar's wine list is a dream. Lots of local wines and something for everyone. We would always like to eat here again - highly recommended!

A historic restaurant, beautifully located on the Albrichtsberg. Access by car is possible, but not recommended. Parking options are limited. A walk to the castle and then spending time in the cathedral cellar is much nicer. (possibly castle elevator, wheelchair accessible with a large parking garage). Nice staff and good cuisine are what characterize this place. Maybe some people think they're sitting here in a small waiting room? Tastes vary and that's a good thing.

Regardless of whether it's the Domkeller or the Ratskeller - it's the "Müller Restaurants" that stand for enjoyment and warmth in Meißen! We like to be guests in both restaurants because the focus here is on the guest (friendly service) and you are treated to fresh and regional products (price matches the quality). In addition, you always feel like you are staying with good friends because all of the employees have been working in the restaurants for many years - so you get to know each other over time. This makes visiting a restaurant personal every time. Pre-ordering to pick up food also works wonderfully every time. So: Keep it up and please keep it warm, personal and authentic (no one has to pretend. And no one is perfect), because that's what distinguishes the Müller Restaurants in Meißen!

The Domkeller in Meißen is a true gem for families and gourmets alike. The food is of excellent quality, with an appealing and varied daily menu that has something to suit every taste. The cozy atmosphere invites you to linger and creates a pleasant ambience for a relaxed visit to the restaurant. What is particularly impressive is the restaurant's exceptional child-friendliness. Pens and coloring sheets are brought to the table without being asked, which immediately keeps the little guests busy and happy. The children's menu is not only used to select dishes, but can also be creatively colored - a great idea to keep the children entertained. The staff deserves special praise for their professional and sensitive handling of unforeseen situations. When a mishap happened to our Kleenen, the service staff reacted with remarkable composure and friendliness, despite the full house. The statement "This happens" shows a real understanding and a customer-oriented attitude that is rarely experienced in this form. The Domkeller is a first-class restaurant experience that goes far beyond the usual five stars.

We (2 people) came without a reservation and were given a table for 6 people in the back area in front of the terrace and they immediately apologized if more people could join us. We thought it was nice. The gentleman had ordered the sauerbraten with 1 additional dumpling because it was said that there would be a large dumpling with the meal. He then received 3 dumplings. The entire dish was super delicious.. The lady had the vegetable strudel.. also recommended. The sour salad/cabbage as a side dish took some getting used to, but to negate the dish as a whole would be complaining on a high level and therefore unfair. The operating staff is also prepared for tourists and can at least communicate in English. The tables have a fairly thick/wide base area which seems a bit uncomfortable. But these are certainly due to the overall interior and perhaps people dined at tables like this in the 15th century. The restaurant also has 2 outdoor terrace areas with a beautiful view of the Elbe and the Elbe slopes with vineyards. We can highly recommend the stay.

We came here as a large group at the beginning of November. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere in the extra room (where we sat) was very nice. We had to wait a little longer for the food, but there were a lot of us, so I don't give any deductions here. I had the monk's schnitzel and it was perfect, my husband had the country pork roast, for him the portion could have been even bigger :) The terrace must be a wonderful ambience in summer, but we will probably come back again when the temperatures are warmer ;-)

Prices are a bit high, not too much space in some rooms (there are several of them), BUT the food is outstanding! We ordered soup, 2 main dishes, desserts, and drinks, each and every was amazing. Service is also great, and panoramic view from the terrace. Love this place.

I sat on the terrace with my girlfriend because the weather invited me to do so. We had a wonderful view over Meißen. It was afternoon coffee time. We ordered coffee and egg pie. The latter was very tasty.

Yesterday our company had lunch in the cathedral cellar as part of a day trip to Meißen. There were 30 of us and it was just perfect. All the dishes we ordered tasted first-class. Many thanks also to the great service staff. Despite our large group, we were served quickly and very friendly. It was very nice with you.

Unfortunately, the cucumber salad on the children's plates was too salty today, but the rest of the dishes were, as usual, excellent, very seasonally coordinated and to the point. The service was also very good, we felt very comfortable and were able to enjoy the evening in a pleasant, unobtrusive manner.

We had reserved a table for 6 people and wanted to spend a cozy evening. Unfortunately, the room was very crowded for our taste, so the background noise was extremely high and no meaningful conversations were possible. If you can only have a conversation at the shared table with a lot of shouting and effort, the feel-good and cozy factor is definitely lost. The nice service staff is no longer of any use. The food was okay, unfortunately the menu wasn't exactly ours, but that's a matter of taste. Conclusion: the general atmosphere is nice and charming, but we probably won't come here again.

Anyone who loves historical walls and traditional regional cuisine should not miss the Dom Keller. Very fast service at the tables, a manageable menu but still a good selection. Regional wines are also offered. However, wheelchair users hardly have a chance here, which could be difficult. I didn't see the parking lot. Prices in the middle range. My absolute recommendation.

There's nothing for normal people, just very unusual ones and there's not even normal Cola, just fake Cola and Zero 😅 food itself, I don't need to talk about it, it's really not tasty, it tastes like it's not seasoned and it's really not for people with taste, you should leave it alone People. And if you really want to eat well in Meissen you should definitely avoid it, the fries are more than annoying and very slimy and it tastes better at McDonalds and I had to return the schnitzel because it wasn't completely cooked through. Two days later I had food poisoning 😕😭

The nervous waitress spoiled the whole mood of a nice evening and a nice view from the terrace. Get ready for a long wait for food. And then you will be counted on for a long time. And if you are unlucky and you run into the same waitress, she will tell you that you make her nervous. Thank you for the "warm" welcome.

It’s not very clear on the map how to get there, but it’s impossible to pass by! The place is beautiful, a gorgeous observation deck. One of the few places where you can have a hearty meal on the way to the castle

The most beautiful table in Meißen, at least when the weather is good, is on the terrace of the cathedral cellar. Friendly and attentive service quickly makes us forget what level of service we had previously experienced in Meißen. Certainly not a gourmet restaurant, but the price-performance ratio is absolutely fine for the location. Basically, I'd be happy to go back if there weren't a few places in Meißen with better food, even if they weren't in such a great location.

Very good food, everything went quickly enough. Drinks came almost immediately after ordering. Unfortunately there is no space on the terrace with a view, which should be booked in advance. It was pleasant to see and read a lot between the toilets and the restaurant, I was well entertained.

We were there for our 40th wedding anniversary. Table decorated, super nice, competent staff, delicious food and great view over Meißen. There was also a small gift. Were there for the first time, but certainly not the last. Thanks to the team.

The food is very good. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace with beautiful views over Meißen. Unfortunately I sat next to a flat earther which spoiled the atmosphere a bit, but I still give it 5 stars because a beautiful girl asked for my number. After the visit the waiter came to apologize for the annoying man. In retrospect we can laugh about this.

Sometimes you’re giving German restaurant another chance and just remember why you shouldn’t. But first about good things: as an oldest restaurant in the city it has according atmosphere and design. Another point-beautiful view from the terrace. If you want just vibe and beer-place for you. Service was also acceptable, but that’s all. Food: portions is not very big. If you’re coming here hungry after walking around the city, be ready to order a few dishes per person and leave here some money. Food was not hot and some parts of the dishes was questionable quality (for example, cucumber in salad tasted like it was laying outside of the fridge for some days). Meet had too much mustard, but it’s more of a personal taste. No vegan dishes, as always in German restaurants. Kitchen was nice to make baked potatoes without sour cream, but if you’re vegan it would be your only option here. In the end: it’s a dissent place to get some drinks in summer and enjoy the view. As a restaurant for dinner, you can do better even in this small town.

Especially now (2020) it is important to support regional gastronomy. And here you can and should really do it. The staff is confident, friendly and even ready for a little joke. The food is excellent and freshly prepared. The ambience is rustic, cozy and perfectly matches the flair of the old building. You can choose between a great view over Meißen or the Meißen Cathedral and Albrechtsburg. Highly Recommended I'll give an update from 07/2024: Still absolutely great. The service, food and ambience continue to get full marks and I finally thought about taking pictures 😁

Restaurant with many years of tradition located in a very picturesque place. Very atmospheric and clean place. Service is nice and at a high level. Food is very good, served aesthetically, and the portions are large. Impressions after the visit are very positive. I highly recommend!
