I'm rather disappointed... with the service, that is. As a native of Meissen, I find it difficult to leave a negative review. Service still has a lot to learn... unfortunately.

We visited the restaurant on a beautiful autumn day and enjoyed the sunshine and the beautiful view of the old town on the terrace. The food was excellent. The knuckle of pork was crispy, and the side dishes, including the salad, were also delicious. The waiter, who was a trainee, was particularly friendly. We would be happy to return.

Everything was fine at the Domkeller. Lunch: Dresden Sauerbraten. The meat was slightly oversalted, and the red cabbage was a bit too sour. Therefore, I only give the food 4 stars.

We went for two aperitifs today. €20 wasn't cheap. I thought the food was overpriced. There are affordable restaurants in town. The view is good, but that doesn't justify the prices. The staff were unfriendly, and they didn't pay any attention. It's a shame.

We said "I do" 15 years ago, here in the cradle of Saxony. For the past 15 years, we've been here at least once a year, including on our wedding anniversary, at the Domkeller Meissen. The Domkeller team can't be blamed for the ambiance and the incredibly beautiful view of our hometown. Beautiful historic restaurant. Friendly staff and a lovely view of Meissen. I had a delicious potato soup and a Wiener Schnitzel with chanterelle mushrooms and spaetzle. I would have preferred a sauce to go with the spaetzle. Otherwise, it was very tasty.

I ate at the Domkeller in Meissen at the end of May and was completely satisfied... no, I was thrilled! Making a reservation via email was wonderful and completely straightforward. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. I also really liked the restaurant's ambiance—cozy and fitting for the historic surroundings, with a fantastic view over Meissen. I'd love to come back and highly recommend the Domkeller!

The walk up to the Domkeller was worth it, and not just for the truly amazing view. As soon as we entered the Domkeller, we received a warm welcome and a very warm welcome. We were escorted through the restaurant to the outdoor platform, and here, too, we were truly impressed by everything from the pictures on the wall to the furnishings. We discovered little touches everywhere, like sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and, in the restroom, deodorant, hand cream, and even tampons. The three advertised thirst quenchers—we chose Mango Ginger—were so delicious and truly refreshing. The lovingly prepared menu was clear and packed with information. While we waited for our food, we had the opportunity to admire the other guests' dishes. Not only did the smell make us even hungrier, the sight of the lovingly prepared plates was a feast for the eyes. Our freshly prepared meal, baked potato and vegetable strudel, was hot and super delicious. Delicious. Our service was more than just friendly. Attentive and honest. There should be more restaurants like this. Here, the profession is truly lived and loved. The value for money is excellent. A heartfelt thank you to the fantastic team at the Domkeller in Meissen.

This pub was founded in 1470. The food is top-notch! Delicious! The view from the terrace overlooking the city skyline is amazing. The prices are reasonable (it's located at the very top, but there's an elevator from the bus stop to the courtyard where the cathedral stands). It's a hit!

Tourist trap. Food isn't poisonous but defenitly not tasty as well as not well prepared. Overpriced as hell. Services is also at very low level and waiter was not kind to us.

You can taste traditional Saxon dishes here. - Saxon potato soup with sausage slices (EINE SCHÜSSEL SÄCHSISCHE KARTOFFELSUPPE approx. 8.50 €) - Dresden roast beef with potato dumplings and red cabbage (DRESDNER SAUERBRATEN approx. 23 €)

Fine restaurant on the Burgberg in Meißen, with a great view of Meißen from the back terrace. Very good menu with selected Saxon and other delicious dishes. Highly recommended for family gatherings and celebrations.

Well, we went there twice, in March and six weeks later... the food was absolutely delicious, no doubt. Knuckle of pork, duck... On the downside, the prices have increased by 20% within that time. What justifies a 0.2 glass of wine for almost €9? Beer (which is just water and hops) for almost €6? Six weeks ago, it was still reasonable, but this was outrageous... what a shame

Great space (we were upstairs with about 20 people), great food (we had everything from potato soup to beer goulash, trout, asparagus with salmon/schnitzel and sauerbraten to red fruit compote, egg yolk, and apple strudel), a good/extensive wine list and beer selection, and truly attentive and friendly service staff (from apprentices to "old" journeymen). 👍 First address when I'm in the area again!😉

A fantastic restaurant offering breathtaking views of Meißen's old town from its terrace. Perfect for lunch with generous portions - they even provide binoculars to admire the historic cityscape in detail! Must-try: their incredible Schweinehaxe (pork knuckle). The combination of great food, amazing views, and unique details makes this a top dining experience in Meißen.

A very nice, atmospheric restaurant near the castle, it is worth going inside and reaching the terrace from which you can see the city from above, it tastes better in such a setting. For beer lovers, the price is higher for 0.5 liter than in the market.

Very nice atmosphere with a wonderful view of the old town of Meißen and of course you can also see the Elbe from up here. The meal was excellent. We were allowed to take our little dog with us to the table. Afterwards we took a look at the Albrechtsburg castle. We parked below the castle and used the elevator...

I don't agree with the average rating of 4.6. For me it was “without ifs and buts” 5 stars! We had reserved and were assigned a table in the canon room, right by the window with a view of the panoramic terrace. The welcome plate with my name was a real hit and we were also warmly welcomed by our waitress. Drink requests were received and served promptly. My cellar beer is fantastic! The selection on the menu is large enough that everyone should find something. I chose the crispy pork knuckle and was rewarded with a delicious dish. There were four of us and there were only words of praise from everyone. My conclusion: an attractive, cozy restaurant with smart service and tasty dishes. So full marks for this place of hospitality and THANKS to the Domkeller team!

We were in the cathedral cellar some time ago. The food was really tasty, well prepared and the service was super good. The view is also great. After our bike tour, this was just the thing. Gladly again.

6 people, reserved, dense crowd in the narrow entrance area, everyone had reserved. It seemed a bit disorganized. Then everything went quickly, ordering...drinks, but then...do you really throw beer mats over the table? Except for my son's pasta, the food was very good. Some of his noodles were really hard. In return he got ice cream for free and the pasta wasn't charged. Thanks for that. Rear guest room poorly ventilated. Personally, I didn't think the price-performance ratio was justified. Improvement desired. Thank you.

The cathedral cellar has a very beautiful view over the whole of Meißen. Unfortunately, when we visited the restaurant it was too cold to sit outside. So we took a seat in the equally picturesque interior. We were treated excellently there - the staff were extremely friendly, courteous and attentive. We felt very welcome. The food also tasted fabulous. It was perfectly seasoned and the portions were filling. My personal highlight was the dessert. The three of us shared a dessert and the kitchen seemed to serve us a larger portion. The cathedral cellar's wine list is a dream. Lots of local wines and something for everyone. We would always like to eat here again - highly recommended!

A historic restaurant, beautifully located on the Albrichtsberg. Access by car is possible, but not recommended. Parking options are limited. A walk to the castle and then spending time in the cathedral cellar is much nicer. (possibly castle elevator, wheelchair accessible with a large parking garage). Nice staff and good cuisine are what characterize this place. Maybe some people think they're sitting here in a small waiting room? Tastes vary and that's a good thing.

Regardless of whether it's the Domkeller or the Ratskeller - it's the "Müller Restaurants" that stand for enjoyment and warmth in Meißen! We like to be guests in both restaurants because the focus here is on the guest (friendly service) and you are treated to fresh and regional products (price matches the quality). In addition, you always feel like you are staying with good friends because all of the employees have been working in the restaurants for many years - so you get to know each other over time. This makes visiting a restaurant personal every time. Pre-ordering to pick up food also works wonderfully every time. So: Keep it up and please keep it warm, personal and authentic (no one has to pretend. And no one is perfect), because that's what distinguishes the Müller Restaurants in Meißen!

The cozy atmosphere invites you to linger and creates a pleasant ambience for a relaxed visit to the restaurant. What is particularly impressive is the restaurant's exceptional child-friendliness. Pens and coloring sheets are brought to the table without being asked, which immediately keeps the little guests busy and happy. The children's menu is not only used to select dishes, but can also be creatively colored - a great idea to keep the children entertained. The staff deserves special praise for their professional and sensitive handling of unforeseen situations. When a mishap happened to our Kleenen, the service staff reacted with remarkable composure and friendliness, despite the full house. The statement "This happens" shows a real understanding and a customer-oriented attitude that is rarely experienced in this form. The Domkeller is a first-class restaurant experience that goes far beyond the usual five stars.

We (2 people) came without a reservation and were given a table for 6 people in the back area in front of the terrace and they immediately apologized if more people could join us. We thought it was nice. The gentleman had ordered the sauerbraten with 1 additional dumpling because it was said that there would be a large dumpling with the meal. He then received 3 dumplings. The entire dish was super delicious.. The lady had the vegetable strudel.. also recommended. The sour salad/cabbage as a side dish took some getting used to, but to negate the dish as a whole would be complaining on a high level and therefore unfair. The operating staff is also prepared for tourists and can at least communicate in English. The tables have a fairly thick/wide base area which seems a bit uncomfortable. But these are certainly due to the overall interior and perhaps people dined at tables like this in the 15th century. The restaurant also has 2 outdoor terrace areas with a beautiful view of the Elbe and the Elbe slopes with vineyards. We can highly recommend the stay.
