A weekend in Ilmenau, and we ended up at the Pasta Lounge. Even though the chef isn't Italian, many Italian restaurants could learn a thing or two from this. Delicious food, a great atmosphere, and very friendly service. We'd gladly go back.

The food was delicious even if it took a bit long. There were two large tables with about 15 people each. I felt sorry for the waitress. They had to split themselves up. Drinks, food, clearing the cash register, all for one person alone was way too much, which is why everything took a really long time. Otherwise, it was delicious.

A Day Full of Warmth, Nature & Adventure – Volle Rose & Schortemühle in Ilmenau Our trip to Schorte Mill was a true experience – for all ages! Even the drive through the forest sets the tone for what awaits you: pure nature, nestled in lush greenery and lovingly maintained down to the smallest detail. A large parking lot, beautifully landscaped outdoor areas, and a wonderful playground complete the perfect first impression. We started with the trip to the "Volle Rose" show mine – in true style, wearing helmets and sitting closely together on small wooden benches through the dark tunnels. Our miner explained everything with a great deal of humor, knowledge, and passion – it was both exciting and funny. And here's a huge compliment: The team at the mine and the train drivers were exceptionally friendly and accommodating – you felt like they could anticipate your every wish! They truly enjoy their work, communicate well, and show genuine interest in their guests. You rarely experience something like that. Afterwards, we went to the Schortemühle restaurant – a truly relaxing place with plenty of charm, style, and taste. The restrooms are a little highlight in themselves – each cubicle is unique and lovingly decorated. The food? Absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and served quickly, even when it's very busy. What makes the whole experience special: The entire staff – from the cleaning staff to the waiters and receptionists – were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You really feel welcome! Finally, we took a ride on the narrow-gauge railway through the idyllic Schorte Valley – a relaxing ride through forests, streams, and meadows. Here again: friendly staff whose attention to detail rounded off a perfect day. Conclusion: A place full of dedication, friendliness, and a nature experience. Not just for children – a real highlight for adults too! We'll definitely be back. Full stars – and a big thank you to the entire team!

Nice ambience, delicious food - and the service tops it all!!!!

We arrived at the hotel at 2:50 p.m., and instead of a "Welcome," we received a "The rooms won't be ready until 3:00 p.m., so why don't you go back into town?" After a discussion about the fact that it was only 10 minutes until 3:00 p.m., we were given the room key. Next surprise: the payment was about €50 more. Luckily, I had the confirmation email handy. However, this had to be clarified with the head office. Upon arriving in the room, we discovered that only one bed was made. Housekeeping then resolved the issue. At some point, the head office confirmed the booked price, and we were able to pay. Then there were more discussions, including a drink voucher. After reviewing the booking email, it was issued rather reluctantly. We've been staying at the Tanne on and off for about 15 years. But this was the highlight. I would have liked a bit more leniency and friendliness. The room was otherwise okay, but the bathroom could have done with a bit of a clean in the problem areas (corners). The green Travdo toothbrush cups were more reminiscent of a youth hostel. The room was above a ballroom. On Friday evening, the bass was pounding until midnight. They could have mentioned that at check-in.
