Silberne Kanne Nürnberg in Nürnberg

For me, this is the most beautiful beer garden anywhere. The food, and for me as a vegetarian, especially the salad dressing, is outstanding, and the atmosphere is even better. Special requests are happily accommodated, and the service is excellent.

The food was good, but the portions were ridiculously large. I'd rather have been 2/3 euros cheaper and had smaller portions. But of course, you can take it home. If you're going home.

Rustic Franconian style, that's how the Silberne Kanne presented itself to us. Due to the dreary autumn weather, we had to eat inside. The dining room is pleasantly rustically decorated. The service was crispy and very friendly. My Schäufele (shoulder of pork) was simply fantastic, crispy on the outside and buttery tender on the inside. We hadn't tried the house Cordon Bleu before; it was delicious with the smoked ham and a different kind of cheese in the filling. The homemade fries were very good, just a bit too much for us 😉. We paired it with a nice Gutmann's dark wheat beer. A perfect start to our week in Nuremberg. Thank you 🫶🏻

A historic restaurant with home-style cooking!!! ...and a beautiful chestnut garden!!!

What can we say? We went there as a family. We ordered Schäufele (shoulder of pork), Sauerbraten (sauerbraten), schnitzel, and cordon bleu. The waiters were on point, and the drinks and food were served with impeccable service. As always (we've been there several times and always stop by when we're in the area), it was absolutely delicious! In the summer, there's also a lovely beer garden. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for photos because we were hungry and ate everything quickly. 😅

Always a good place in Nuremberg, a cozy beer garden with good food and friendly service. We'd be happy to go again.

4 stars, Breitscheidstr. 15, 90459 Nuremberg-Innenstadt In the middle of a residential area, not a real feast for the eyes. The bar inside apparently only opens in cooler temperatures. So we sat under the chestnut tree and enjoyed the friendly staff and the "real Nurembergers." Thanks, Iris, it was really delicious. The price/performance ratio here is absolutely perfect! Even though the Schäufele is now €4 more expensive (now €17.90). All beers (0.5 l) for €4.50, 0.2 l Bacchus for €6.20. The roasted dumpling fries were amazing, very reminiscent of Belgian fries. They are made from roasted dumplings, unique!

A beautiful, classic beer garden with large chestnut trees in a not-so-inviting, somewhat run-down setting. They serve good Humser beer and a very tasty Cordon Bleu.

I was just in the beer garden, which was very nice. I especially love the fairy lights. The roast pork was top-notch, as were the Obatzde (traditional German sausages) and the beers. The service matched this, attentive and friendly, inviting, so it would be fun to have the same or more again. Thank you very much!

A very cozy beer garden with a young, dedicated team. Good selection of food and drinks at fair prices. Even larger groups can get their food quickly and at the same time. Large sandbox with plenty of toys for the little ones.

I really enjoy coming here for food and drinks. The large beer garden, which you wouldn't expect to find in this location, is a wonderful place to enjoy a cold beer in the summer. In the winter, they serve mulled wine outside. The food is Franconian, and there are daily specials that change regularly. The food is delicious. When it's busy, though, it can take a while.

I think they could tackle that during the next off-season (paint, the old tent/pavilion, and the dated-looking colorful fairy lights). But it doesn't detract much from the overall good impression.

The beer garden provided a truly delightful evening for our group of around 20 people! The atmosphere was great and inviting. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the clear menu – it made choosing pleasantly easy for so many people. The food was consistently delicious. We had a great time and can definitely recommend this beer garden for social evenings with a larger group.

Unfortunately we were doused with a tablet of beer and the prices went up quite a bit. Fried potatoes cost 3 euros extra, although the cordon bleu isn't that cheap anyway. The beer garden is nice in summer, so we recently went to the Silberkanne in the evening during the cold season to look at the restaurant. But it's nothing unusual. The Franconian draft beer was delicious and the service was friendly. I ate cold roast with bread and a little vegetable garnish. It didn't taste bad, but a short time later it literally made me feel sick. Once I freed my stomach of this burden, I was at least able to sleep, but still needed another day to recover. My conclusion: Never again a silver pot! I won't do that to my stomach again!

Inconspicuous from the outside but cozy inside. The waiter was in a great mood and extremely friendly. He didn't allow himself to be intimidated by the cheeky young group but skillfully and charmingly put them in their place. The food was good and the price was reasonable. I thought it was good that there were toilets in a local that were clean and it smelled wonderfully like peaches :D

Food was food, beer was nice and service was also good. Kids got some complementary pencils and coloring books.

We were only in Nuremberg for three nights and ate there on the first evening. Because it was so great, we went back the second evening! We had reserved 2 seats for Saturday evening and were extremely satisfied with our visit to the Silberne Kanne. The restaurant is a quick walk from the train station, the service was very friendly and the quality of the food was simply very good! Only the dining room was a bit cool but the atmosphere was very good with delicious Franconian food and drinks.

Many thanks to the staff and chefs of this restaurant. The food came quickly, the food was very tasty. The bartender helped us choose the dishes. The employees of the institution are very attentive and always smiling. After visiting the restaurant, I had positive emotions, a good mood and a full stomach. 😉😍

Common food, you could eat it, but for 17 euros I also expect a schnitzel with 🍟 and not limp potato sticks with a piece of meat that has been fried for too long. The service was probably a little annoyed, probably because it was New Year's Eve. There will be a second visit, everyone deserves to grow from criticism.

After a day's journey from Berlin we had a meal in the pot. We wanted a restaurant that was close to the train station. We were 6 people. The food was very good and fits the region perfectly. Unfortunately not my case. I had the Codon Bleu with potato salad, but had the feeling that neither the potato salad nor the meat was made in-house. The service was great and very hardworking. In the dining room it was rather bare Franconian and very cold.

Unfortunately not recommended! Schnitzel and liver were ok. Carrot-ginger soup, an indefinable mushy mass with no taste, which was intended as a starter and came together with the main courses. After ordering three times, salads only came when all the plates had already been cleared away. Operation completely overwhelmed. At home we noticed that our bill apparently had 2 items from the neighboring table on it. Unfortunately we noticed it too late because there were 10 of us. We definitely won't be coming back!

Service and taste very disappointing. Parking situation for non-residents who have to come by car is bad. (It's not the restaurant's fault). Too bad!

I had to order directly at the counter because the waitresses regularly walked past me without noticing me, although I had previously asked which table I could sit at and they were watching me. Apparently you could sit at any table that didn't have cutlery, which was hardly the case, which is why I approached a couple at a table of eight. I was very happy that there were alcohol-free cyclists. After an hour I received my Schäufele with a dumpling and a little later my side salad. Unfortunately it was a bit dry, but the dumplings and salad were even better. The lighting in the beer garden was only switched on because I asked, even though it was already quite dark and you could hardly see your food. Attention: Unfortunately the opening times do not seem to be correct. I would have liked to eat in the beautiful garden, but it was already closed at 10:30 p.m. Since the beer garden itself only states the times when the beer garden opens, I assume that the length of the opening depends on demand.

Traditional Franconian and cozy restaurant with a beautiful beer garden with old chestnut trees. On the clear menu you will find beautifully presented specialties that come to the table in generous portions. The young waitresses and waiters are quick and very friendly. On warm summer evenings, the beer garden is a small oasis in the southern part of the city. Even in rainy weather, the beer garden can be used thanks to the tent. It's best to make a reservation because the Silver Jug is very popular.

A small oasis in Nuremberg. Everything down to earth, service on point. Daily beer and daily specials available. Bread was a bit dry but the Obatzda was nice and creamy, and finally with pickle. Dumpling fries great idea for something different. I could also imagine it as a veggie dish with the savoy cabbage.

The Silberne Kanne is a traditional Franconian restaurant in Nuremberg's southern part of town with a great beer garden under old chestnut trees. In the winter months, the partner restaurant Schrödl Wirt on Enderstrasse is also recommended. Both still charge middle-class prices.
