This was my first time dining here with my family. The atmosphere is comfortably traditional, and the service was very attentive. The food was served quickly, was regional, and well-prepared. The portions were okay, except for my order, the "sausage platter." The sausages themselves were good, but the side dishes were very small: about three or four tablespoons of sauerkraut and, at best, three tablespoons of potato salad. I then had to order extra potato salad, which unfortunately was charged separately. Since the portion sizes of all the other dishes were perfectly normal, I would advise against the "sausage platter" if you're coming with a big appetite.

Everything was perfect. We had a very good meal. The service was friendly and fast. The decor was cozy and rustic – better than it looks from the outside. There's a wide selection of beers, including low-alcohol and delicious options.

By the way, you have to be quick with your meal because the tables are only reserved for 1-2 hours; that's how it was for us. And if the owner criticizes us, there's still the right to free speech in Germany, especially since your waitress pushed me, and I'm considering taking legal action.

Truly fantastic, typical Nuremberg pub! The warm and authentic atmosphere, with traditional furnishings, instantly immerses you in the local culture. Excellent selection of Franconian beers, all of them top-quality, and delicious traditional food, simple but perfectly prepared. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always available. An ideal place for a quiet evening or to experience the true spirit of the city. The original schnitzel with fries and salad is highly recommended!

The food was fantastic! This was my first visit, and I have to say I was very impressed. The Franconian Sauerbraten was incredibly tender and melt-in-your-mouth soft, especially with the delicious gingerbread sauce! The steak with the roasted onions was absolutely delicious! The venison goulash was wonderfully braised with just the right amount of sauce (I think it was a wine sauce, but very tasty!). I have to say, though, that the medium-grilled beef steak wasn't cooked through very well; it was quite tough. But the flavor and seasoning were still excellent. The atmosphere inside was quite loud, but you could still have a conversation. If others were talking a bit louder, you just turned it up a notch! 🤣 The dessert was incredibly delicious; there were three to choose from, and we had all three. I would definitely go back when Christmas is just around the corner and I want a really nice meal!

We ate here for Christmas dinner. The restaurant has a very Franconian feel to it. The service was very friendly. However, the food wasn't very tasty for the six of us. The portions were quite large, but it could have used more seasoning. As it was, the food wasn't really enjoyable. The fried potatoes were cold. We had 90 minutes, which was plenty of time. Dogs are allowed. Card payment is no problem. There's always a queue at the entrance. Perhaps this could be better organized?

You miss one star because some of your stuff is impolite with families with kids and they speak german even though they know english. Believe it or not english is global language, i could order in greek but i didnt.

A charming little restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the Obatzda (Bavarian cheese spread)... I haven't had such a delicious one in ages. The service was friendly and quite cheeky. The only downside is that the online reservation didn't mention a specific time limit. 120 minutes for six people is far too short; we would have loved to have dessert, but the server informed us we had to leave by 7 pm. 😐

Quantity over quality here. The tables are so close together that you barely have room to get up without disturbing other guests. You're practically sitting in your neighbor's lap in the alcoves. The restaurant is packed, so you're served quickly and they want to free up space for the next person as fast as possible. The food was lukewarm, so the overall taste was mediocre. The fried potatoes were completely unseasoned and dry. Definitely not worth a second visit.

It was a delicious German dinner. Even though it was crowded because it was Christmas season, the staff was very courteous and helpful, and the food came out warm and quick! The pork belly and Nuremberg sausages were both delicious, and the salad I ordered as a side was refreshing!

I can't understand the good reviews for the following reasons: 1. Despite having a reservation, we were seated at a table right next to two other people. Later, we had to move from our table for four, despite our reservation, because the table we were sitting at needed to be cleared for others. At that point, we had only been in the restaurant for about 30 minutes. 2. There was a hair in our food, and it tasted only mediocre. We received nothing more than an apology. On the positive side, the ambiance was excellent. The service was generally friendly and very attentive. Therefore, I'm giving it 4 stars.

I had to leave a review so I could remember where to go if I’m ever in the area again. This was one of my favorite meals that I’ve had while travelling throughout Europe. After making sure they were okay with substitutions on the menu, I had pork Schnitzel and substituted the fries for spaetzle and asked for some mushroom gravy. They were happy to accommodate the changes and I can’t stop thinking about how good it was!

Pork is their specialty. Everything is delicious.

After two days of walking for 13 hours and eating standing up at the Christmas market, we needed to sit down and enjoy a delicious traditional meal, and believe me, we did. We went because of its reputation, and when we arrived there was a queue (normal for this time of year), but in less than 30 minutes we were seated. The waiter was very friendly, helped us with recommendations, took some photos of us together, and was always attentive to make sure everything was perfect. A very nice, rustic place, and the food was amazing. Highly recommended.

I'm giving it 2 stars because they made me share a table with strangers. Quite strange, and they also got my drink wrong. That wasn't a big deal in itself since they fixed it quickly, but what really surprised me was that after all that, when I paid, they asked me for a tip.

In short: Fantastic! The menu is excellent: The best beers have been selected and are available for discerning diners. The food is well-curated; the selection, presentation, and taste are superb. For those of us with an appetite: the portion sizes are quite generous. With a beer, appetizer, main course, and dessert, even a worker should be satisfied. The ambiance is lovely. Quaint and comfortable. The service staff is very attentive. The only difficulty is getting a seat. So book early and enjoy! Cheers!

Unfortunately, our reservation couldn't be found, even though we made it by email. So we only had an hour... That's just outrageous! Luckily, the food arrived quickly and was actually quite good in parts. But it wasn't exactly relaxing, and the service definitely needs improvement.

For those of you coming from the US (and/or are inept at German), something which really meant a lot to us was the amazing level of service and hospitality. The staff's attitude truly matched the warm, cozy atmosphere. The food/drink itself was also quite wonderful! The Nurnberger rostbratwurst was amazing, and complemented the kartoffelsalat perfectly. As an additional special treat, the kartoffelklossen is available to purchase a la carte (definitely get the sauce)- soft, piping hot pillowy potato goodness is the perfect remedy to cold rainy days. In the event you are here during Christmas season, the gluhwein here is easily better than most, if not all, of the Christkindlmarkt stalls nearby, it is also cheaper, and you can enjoy it in the warm indoors (vs. being stuck in cold rainy weather outside). We are sadder for not being able to experience this place now that we've come back home- it'll have to live on as a memory until the day we visit again.

Very nice Franconian restaurant. We enjoy local dishes with red beer and local white wine Silvaner. You can have pork, duck, deer and brandwurst in an nice enviroment.

December 2nd at noon without a reservation and we were served very quickly at a nice table by the window. Very friendly staff with a nice vibe in general. The food is GREAT! Very large portions, delicious and reasonable prices for what it offers. I definitely recommend it. It should be noted that it also had a children's menu (we had a child with us) which was appreciated.

The Hütt'n inn offers a wide selection of beers and spirits, as well as a large variety of delicious food. The Schäuferla (roast pork shoulder) is highly recommended. However, it gets very busy in the evenings; our group of 12 squeezed into a table that was really only comfortable for 10 people, even though there were plenty of reservations. Therefore, one star is deducted. Otherwise, it's highly recommended; the service was friendly and quick.

Dear Udo, It's really lovely at your place. But why isn't the daily menu available online? Also, there's no need to always squeeze guests in with each other when there's plenty of space in the back! Sometimes people want to have a quiet conversation or just eat in peace. Or squeeze in at the bar when we want to eat! The waiters don't need to roll their eyes at that; not everyone wants to eat crammed at a narrow counter. We don't eat at your place as often anyway, since the quality is so inconsistent. So, please post the daily menu on Facebook and Instagram, and stop piling guests up at the front! A slight price increase would be nice, but the quality and flavor could be improved. The food at this typical restaurant was good, but the guy at the entrance who assigns you a table was impossible. Unfortunately, everyone has to go through him; he's the usher! When I asked him for a small, private table, he initially refused and wanted to seat me at a table with two complete strangers—following the motto: the more people I cram in, the more money I make—absolutely unacceptable. I only got the private table because I agreed to stay for just 30 minutes. There are other typical restaurants that are certainly run more courteously. My advice: steer clear—you shouldn't tolerate this kind of behavior.

We arrived with 37 people - ordered in the morning - after about 15 minutes everyone had something to drink and after 45 minutes about 16 people (one large table) had their food - thank you for that - for the fast, friendly and competent service and praise to the kitchen - for the delicious food - thank you to the entire team for the great evening.

For me, this is one of the best restaurants nearby. I've been here twice now with more than five people, and I have to say the food is extremely excellent every time. We had visitors from America, and they immediately fell in love with the atmosphere, the friendly service, and especially the delicious food. It's my first choice when I'm in Nuremberg city center.

The food is Franconian, traditional, and delicious 👍 The prices are still moderate considering the location directly below the castle and practically next to the Dürer House.
