A modern restaurant located not far from the main market square, with a very modern interior and a small selection of Franconian cuisine. The start was a bit bumpy: the waiter said we could choose our own seats, but after we finally sat down (my wife was on crutches with a broken foot and therefore very immobile), we unfortunately had to exchange our seat for a smaller table. It could have gone better! The Schäufele (pork shoulder) and the Nürnbergerle (a type of sausage) somewhat made up for it. Overall, the price-performance ratio was good. The beer selection is extensive, but unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try any of them. Anyone wanting to try typical Franconian food will definitely be in good hands here.

Waited quite a while. Beer was very good. Venison goulash was bland, autumn salad drowned in sauce.

Friendly service, a lovely restaurant in a prime location. The food was beautifully presented, but unfortunately, the taste was quite generic, lacking any finesse. Good, traditional Franconian cuisine doesn't have to be so expensive. Unfortunately, the menu online and in the restaurant weren't up-to-date, so we couldn't order either the braised ox cheeks or the apple fritters.

First time for daughter and me and I was puzzled how delicious yet resourceful my Vegan 3 course was ! Cold tapped beer compliment a healthful, yet traditional dish. My daughter had the tasty venison ragout. Very friendly service that was a bit Slow due to a full house . We’ll be back!

Delicious lunch and friendly service

Franconian cuisine with regional ingredients, simply delicious. It was a wonderful evening with good food, fine beers, and wines. The service was friendly and prompt.

There are quite a few options in Nuremberg when it comes to the famous bratwurst... But if you want a truly authentic experience, you have to stop here. I've never experienced anything this delicious before. The Schäufele (shoulder of pork) is also an absolute highlight. You can even watch the cooking. The service is very attentive and friendly. For such a delicious experience, the price is absolutely justified. A definite recommendation. I'll be back! 👌🙂

An hour and a half wait for an order that wasn't placed correctly. 12.50 for soup without bread, butter, or salad. 20 for a few tiny sausages and soggy, tasteless sauerkraut. Slow Food? Rubbish.

On my first visit, it wasn't busy, everything went very quickly, and I enjoyed it immensely. The food and drinks were excellent! On my second visit, the restaurant was packed and there were clearly not enough servers on site. You could really feel sorry for them. As a result, it took a while, and the food suffered a bit, which is a real pain considering the prices as a student. Still, I recommend it!

Super delicious food. We were a large group and had tried to make a reservation a few days before, but unfortunately, it didn't work out. We just showed up and were served as best we could. Since we were a larger group, the food unfortunately took about 1.5 hours to arrive. Nevertheless, they did everything they could to keep us happy. We'd be happy to come back. 🤗✌️

Few things on the menu but really good traditional food. We were served fast. The waiter was very helpful especially since we had kids at our table.

We wanted classic Nuremberg bratwurst. There was no children's menu, and the value for money was not right. They served a small portion of overcooked sauerkraut with the requested number of sausages, along with more than dry bread—half a slice per person. When we pointed out the poor quality on the rather high bill, they said we could have said so, and then we would have gotten an espresso—well, not after the bill? What a shame.

Sausages and 6 bratwursts with sauerkraut! Served with fresh farmhouse bread, all locally sourced, and you can taste it! Franconian cuisine, straightforward and honest—you can't get much better than this. A good glass of wine to go with it. Friendly and fast service—what more could you want?

Compared to the many traditional establishments in Nuremberg, this modern-style restaurant (in terms of its interior design, service, and menu) is truly a breath of fresh air. It still serves classic Franconian dishes, with top-notch flavors and preparation. The Schäufele boasts crispy skin and tender meat, paired with a traditionally rich gravy. The spinach Knödel was surprisingly impressive, and the Nuremberg sausages delivered that familiar, authentic taste. The open kitchen offers a visual feast, letting guests watch the cooking process unfold. The drink menu also features beers from local craft breweries. I’ve dined here several times on my own and also brought friends along — and each visit has earned rave reviews. Absolutely recommended without hesitation!

Unfriendly service, never again

Hello everyone, I was here recently with my mother. We had the cold potato and leek soup for starters, which was unfortunately quite salty. It was a decent portion for almost 10 euros, but it was a decent portion. For the main course, I had a Schäuferle (pork shoulder) and my mother had the spinach dumplings. For a restaurant where I pay over 26 euros for a Schäuferle (pork shoulder) with a side salad, the main course was unfortunately not good enough. My Schäuferle was too dark on the sides and therefore too hard. Perhaps it was fried in too little stock. The crust was unfortunately very light with bubbles, like you would get with a hot air dryer, for example. I prefer a darker crust that develops more slowly. This was accompanied by two small potato dumplings with more, or rather less, dumpling bread inside. I would have preferred a larger dumpling with more dumpling bread as the filling. Unfortunately, I didn't find the sauce all that exciting either. It was impossible to tell whether, for example, the vegetables had been strained through a sieve or whether a sauce from a package had been used. In any case, it was too simplistic. I thought my mother's spinach dumplings used too little spinach. The side salad, however, was one of the best I've ever eaten. That's why I'm giving it an extra star. The service may have been trying hard, but when my mother was given a glass of water and asked if she'd like a slice of lemon, it took 10 minutes for it to arrive. And that was despite the fact that we were practically alone in the restaurant. In the end, we ordered apple schnapps and plum brandy, but instead of the plums, we got sour cherry brandy, which, while excellent, was definitely not plum brandy. Overall, I'd say the restaurant comes across as intentional but not skillful. What really bothered me, though, was the fact that they present themselves as a modern restaurant that loves Franconian traditions, yet the wines aren't offered as a glass (250ml), but rather as a 200ml glass. Ultimately, I spent over 100 euros for two people (without dessert) and was sadly disappointed.

The food was delicious. The waiter was inattentive and unfriendly. But the service assistant was very nice. The food arrived very late, even though we were among the first there.

Wir waren nun einige Monate nicht mehr hier und mussten feststellen, dass sich das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis deutlich verschlechtert hat. Die Aufstriche haben mit fränkischem Essen nichts zu tun. Paprikacreme? Das Dressing zum Limburger war mir so auch fremd. Die Kruste vom Schäufele hat man unter dem Salamander zwar kross gebraten, aber man konnte sehen, dass das Fleisch schnell gegart wurde. Die Fettschicht unter der Kruste war so dick wie zu Beginn eines Bratvorgangs. Die Sauce war 08/15. Schade, war mal ein gutes Lokal.

The menu may be rather small, but it offers a fine selection – and the dishes served are delicious across the board. I particularly recommend the Maultaschen (swabian pasta) – very delicious – and the potato salad was also excellent. Here you can enjoy a good meal, a drink, and simply enjoy the time in a pleasant atmosphere. A place you'll gladly return to. Definitely worth a visit!

The best white asparagus I have had and a wonderful veal roast was a great meal. In my opinion the best red beer from schanzen Brauerei is simply fantastic.

Our visit last weekend was very disappointing. The cake selection consisted of four different cakes. Unfortunately, we were served extremely thin slices (€4.50 each) that looked "frayed"—I don't know how else to phrase it. I returned my slice, and the next slice was missing a piece of the cake. The waitress explained to me that there was no other way to cut the cake. Due to a party in the restaurant, it was very loud and not very cozy. We ate our cakes—they tasted good—plus two cappuccinos, paid about €20, and knew... we'll never go here for coffee again.

Die Empfehlung von SlowFood hat uns in die Wirtschaft geführt. Wir hatten das Glück, daß wir bei beiden Besuchen (auch ohne Reservierung) draußen sitzen konnten. Der Service ist sehr flott und aufmerksam. Das Essen ist sehr gut und von guter Qualität. Auf der Getränkekarte sind verschiedene regionale Biere, die man unbedingt probieren sollte, natürlich auch das Nürnberger Rotbier.

Drinks arrived quickly, but unfortunately, our food order wasn't taken at all. Cutlery was provided, but nothing else. Attention in a restaurant is different. Otherwise, a cozy atmosphere and a nice spot for an evening drink.

A real surprise: a simple yet cozy ambiance, very friendly and prompt service, and finally, superbly prepared regional cuisine in the form of asparagus with freshly whipped hollandaise sauce, tenderly aromatic pork cheeks, and a truly superbly prepared and dressed side salad. A top address for fans of well-crafted, seasonal Franconian cuisine without the frills!

It was our first time here and we were very satisfied 👍🏼 the very quick and friendly service confirmed our spontaneous decision right from the start (as we all know, there is less gastro selection available on Mondays). The menu is Franconian-down-to-earth and the seasonal daily menu (asparagus) was also appealing. We were very happy with our choice of food (12 “sours” and veal roll roast with dumplings & sauerkraut) and the cloudy beer was also very tasty. The location is modern & home-style and stands out pleasantly from the usual old town bratwurst kitchens 👌 The kitchen is open and allows a view. It's also nice to see what's happening behind the counter. We can recommend it and will definitely come back 🥳

Site that is not 100% gluten-free. The waiters know what it is about and they know how to tell you which dishes are suitable (only two are suitable but it is German food). They also have gluten-free bread and several gluten-free desserts. I would repeat again.

Unprofessional restaurant management. First of all: The food was very good. However, we had to wait over 1.5 hours. When we asked for a small compensation (espresso) when paying, the waitress told us he would ask the restaurant manager. Result: Negative. The service apologized again for the long waiting time, then the manager came and sent him away in a brusque manner, saying he would sort the whole thing out now. We paid, didn't tip a cent, and left the restaurant never to be seen again. I give the owner of the restaurant a recommendation: fire the unprofessional restaurant manager or send him to training. From the rating is the service except at the table. He was very good.

I discovered this excellent restaurant today during my recent visit to Nuremberg. A very successful combination of modern ambiance, traditional Franconian cuisine, and excellent drinks. I probably ate the best shoulder of my life here today. My compliments to the entire team! I will be back 🙂

The prices were good; it wasn't expensive, and in fact, it was cheap considering the quality of everything. The place was spotless, tidy, nice, and simple. The service was good, attentive, and available. Everything was excellent. It's a very good place, a good restaurant but with moderate prices.
