Very nice restaurant, excellent service, delicious and affordable food!

They prepare the food very deliciously. It is of high quality, and the pork fillet is fantastic. The portions are huge, and the price is normal.

Lovely place! We ordered a couple of beers, a portion of schnitzel and Käsespätzle, and everything was very good. The service was also really welcoming. We strongly recommend this place!

Very authentic and cozy, good, honest food, very friendly service, good value for money for the city, always make a reservation, Schäufele (pork shoulder) on Wednesdays and goose on weekends starting November 11th, definitely order in advance, always reserve a seat! These kinds of local pubs are rare these days! I love going there and I often come alone, which isn't always comfortable for a woman elsewhere! I really enjoy going there and highly recommend it!

A very quaint, rustic restaurant with a brewery atmosphere. The service is efficient, the food was delicious, and the menu changes daily. Since the place is always busy, you should reserve well in advance. I was lucky and got a table that was still free for another hour.

Franconian cuisine can do more! The meat was average and rather firm, the dumplings made from ready-made dough and the apple fritter dough were not at all fluffy and tasted pre-made. Unfortunately, the overall quality wasn't particularly good. The service was very attentive, friendly, and quick, which somewhat made up for it.

Cozy inn. Local cuisine (the potato dumplings are a dream) as well as pasta dishes and salads. Seating inside and outside.

Got hungry after the airport ride. Found the 😇 on Google Maps. It was delicious. Good, home-style cooking. Excellent service, too. We'll be happy to come back when we're in Nuremberg.

Very tasty food, friendly staff, can only be recommended

I was a regular for many years. Unfortunately, Martin has raised the prices so much that even a single liter of beer is over the top. I hope he still remembers the Corona times and that it was the guests who kept him going. Not like this anymore.

We had a perfect evening all around! The food was simply outstanding – fresh, authentic, and prepared with love. The beer was also excellent, and as a highlight, we were even allowed to enjoy an extra beer to try. The prices are absolutely fair and more than reasonable for the quality offered here. We would especially like to emphasize the service: attentive, warm, and always striving to make us feel at home. This restaurant is a true recommendation for anyone who wants to experience Franconian cuisine in Nuremberg – we'll definitely be back.

The food was good, not great. The portions were very large, and for Nuremberg, I'd say not too expensive. We didn't have to wait long. Unfortunately, the outdoor area was already full, so you should reserve a table. But otherwise, everything was good, and I would go again.

Very tasty Franconian food, be sure to drink a light one beforehand.

Actually a nice neighborhood pub with good beer and a nice atmosphere. The only thing that really bothers me are the schnitzels from the deep fryer. Something like that just doesn't work in a Franconian inn.

Great food! It's always full, you always need a reservation. Here you can get the best Schäufele from all over Nuremberg. The daily menu is always very varied and also offers many options for vegetarians and vegans. The service is quick and in summer you can sit outside in the garden. I'll be back.

The Zum Engel restaurant is undoubtedly one of the most charming addresses for authentic German cuisine in Nuremberg. Here, guests can expect not only a warm, inviting atmosphere, but also an excellent selection of Franconian beer specialties, which are served with a lot of expertise and passion. The real highlight of this house, however, is the outstanding kitchen. Each dish impresses with its craftsmanship, high-quality ingredients and a taste sophistication that is second to none. Whether traditional Franconian classics or sophisticated seasonal specialties - here we cook with attention to detail and great skill. In all my visits, not a single dish has disappointed me. On the contrary: the consistently high quality and authentic taste make Zum Engel a culinary institution in Nuremberg that I can fully recommend.

We were there for the second time, due to a trade fair visit. This time with several people. The team there is so great and warm, the cuisine is excellent and if I could, I would give even more stars for the service because we unexpectedly received a meal that was actually on the changing menu the previous week. Almost all of us chose this and pre-ordered it. The fact that this was possible was really super nice and accommodating! Thank you for the lovely evening with you!

Wonderful! Food great, dessert great, atmosphere great. You feel really comfortable. Unless you don't want to sit so close to other people. If I lived near there, I would definitely be there more often :-) Tegernsee schnitzel is recommended if you like the filling.

Super nice Franconian restaurant with great service.

The food has been delicious and of the best quality for years. Prices ok. Good for groups. Not so much for couples, because you're constantly sitting next to strangers, so there's little space and even less privacy! Very unpleasant! So go out for a romantic meal somewhere else. Ambiance is often very crowded and loud.

Quaint inn with great service and a nice memory card. Vegetarian dishes are also available, but for me the Cordon Bleu was the favorite. The prices are reasonable and you can pay with cash or card. We'd love to come back

I'm happy to give it 5 stars, even if the Schäuferle crust looks like an improvement. Maybe we were just unlucky. Nevertheless, everything was very tasty, friendly and a great atmosphere.

Unfortunately the opening times are not correct (0.00h), you will be turned away from the restaurant at 11pm! What a shame actually!

Even if you don't have a reservation, you can still get a table. Sometimes you have to make do with strangers. Our food was delicious! Unfortunately a small part of my fish wasn't cooked through. This was immediately repaired to my satisfaction. My husband's roast was very good and a good man's portion. Unfortunately, there was a mess in the kitchen at short notice and it took forever for dessert to arrive. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and We would love to come back to the Angel!

One of our favorite restaurants. Good wines, good beer, changing menu with slightly more unusual dishes. The staff is very warm and you always feel comfortable. Tip: reserve in time for the beer garden, it is often fully booked even during the week.

The Gasthaus Engel is a good, middle-class inn in Schoppershof. Food: The food is freshly prepared and is absolutely inexpensive. 10.80 for a large portion of roasted dumplings with a salad (very tasty) is really great. The apple fritters also tasted like they were freshly prepared. Good selection for vegetarians. Service: Very nice and attentive service. We were often asked if we wanted something more to drink. The food also came quickly. Ambience: Quaint in itself, but the seats inside are not that comfortable. There is a lack of upholstered seating, especially for older people. It's also a bit tight. Outside, however, things looked better.

Friendly, fast and super tasty. The spit roast with dumplings and salad were really tasty. Schupfnudeln with sauerkraut from my darling were also delicious 😋. Finally there was apple cake with vanilla ice cream... Great. Plus a delicious light beer and we were happy. We'd love to come back.
