A beautiful location on the lake near the castle and old town, we had a very good coffee and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Seeprinz is located directly on Lake Plön and offers a fantastic view of the lake in summer. Even in the colder, darker months, the interior is a great place to sit and enjoy the crackling fireplace. The food (I had kale) was delicious. The service is very attentive and friendly. I would gladly return anytime.

Wonderful place with extremely unfriendly, even brusque, service. A real shame! They seem to be able to afford to alienate their customers.

From the outside it's very unassuming, but once you're inside, sitting right by the water, it's actually quite cozy. The food is good, traditional German fare and tasted great. What I found really interesting was that you can order fondue; I'd never seen that anywhere else before. Next time I'm there, I absolutely have to try it. The service was fantastic, the staff were very friendly, and everyone was in a good mood.

A very cozy restaurant with a charming atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had duck with red cabbage, dumplings, and gravy. The duck was juicy and not tough, but unfortunately, the feather tufts weren't completely seared... a shame, as the delicious skin was left over. The gravy was a bit too salty, but very tasty. The red cabbage was fantastic and homemade. The portion was very large; it's best not to order an appetizer.

Food was mediocre, not bad. Overpriced, even for being on a lake. 8€ for tap water in a reused bottle. You can decide if that’s ok. No complaints about the service.

The ambiance and the food were good. But I find it really cheeky that if you prefer fried potatoes (standard on the menu) instead of fries for a burger for €22.50, you have to pay a surcharge for a side order. Especially since it wasn't communicated when you took your order. I also find the drink prices very high.

The view from the restaurant or the terrace alone, while enjoying a cold or warm drink, is worth a visit. You'll first receive a friendly greeting. During holiday season and on weekends, getting a table is a matter of luck. The food is very good, the cake is fantastic. The coffee leaves a lot to be desired. The Seeprinz is excellent in the summer, but on colder days it's a gem. You have an incredibly beautiful view of the large Plöner Lake while sitting in the warmth with a piece of cake. I recommend having a tea with it.

Ate here twice. Dinner for four. The service was quick and good, and the food was excellent. The quality is good. The combination of good food and the view is pleasant. It gives Plon that extra something the city needs.

We were there for breakfast and sat on the lakeside terrace in perfect weather. The breakfast itself wasn't anything spectacular, but it was very nice and presented in a different way. Since eating is a feast for the eyes, the presentation was a little out of the ordinary. There are also a few options for vegetarians and vegans. We really enjoyed it.

I went there with my girlfriend for a few drinks on our way back to Kiel. We didn't eat there, so I can't give a review. I only had two large beers and she had two cocktails. Everything was very tasty, albeit a bit pricey. However, the price is somewhat justified by the unique location and the great service. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were still able to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view over Lake Plön. The waiters were all very friendly, showed genuine interest, and even gave us some good recommendations. All in all, we were very satisfied and would gladly come back.

It's a very well-located restaurant. We went there for breakfast. The ambiance is modern and friendly, with a direct waterfront location. A very nice terrace overlooking Lake Plön, where the paddle boats float by. The staff were friendly but seemed a bit annoyed. We found the prices a bit too high. We also had to wait quite a long time for our breakfast; the coffee, which had been brought 30 minutes earlier, was cold again.

The shop is beautifully situated by the water, but unfortunately, that's where it ends for us today. After my boyfriend and I visited the shop with his son today, the first thing that struck us was the lovely ambiance – right by the water. Unfortunately, that quickly ended. The fact that we were apparently not welcome guests with children was evident from the employees' reactions. They were repeatedly reminded that they should please wear shoes, as several glasses had already broken throughout the day, leaving shards on the floor. After just a short while, I was fed up with the stares of the employees every time our children made a noise, so we left the shop. When our wives entered the shop afterwards (from the water to the dock) and, before even saying "Hello," they were also told that they should wear shoes due to the many broken glass on the floor, the decision to leave was the only logical conclusion. Two beers for €10.80 rounded off the experience. Here, you definitely pay for the view of the water...

A wonderfully beautiful place to linger over a delicious drink. The Seeprinz, with its unbeatable location directly on Lake Plön, exceeded our expectations. The service was super fast, friendly, and gave me excellent advice on the various cocktails on the menu. The value for money is excellent, given the location and the unique view.

This is a super nice cafe, and we were very surprised by how close it is to the water. Friendly staff everywhere. The cheesecake was recommended to us, and it was absolutely delicious. The coffee is also very good, and the prices are reasonable in my opinion.

The ambiance, especially on the terrace, is great. The service is friendly but not very attentive. It wasn't busy, but there were plenty of staff on site, yet the process took quite a while, and some of the staff had to be explicitly addressed. The food was good, but the prices are quite high on average.

We ate there. The fish with vegetables and potatoes was very good. My tarte flambée was delicious on the outside, but most of the middle was still raw dough. I sent that back and told the server. Unfortunately, we had to pay the entire amount. A concession would have been nice.

The location is great—especially if you sit on the outdoor terrace when the weather's nice. The service is friendly. Prices are a bit higher (e.g., around €6 for a double espresso). At brunch, everyone was taken instead :)

The interior of the restaurant isn't very nicely decorated. There were three tea lights on the table on swaying doilies, and that was it. The mushroom cream sauce was very runny, but the rest was fine.

The currywurst was only lukewarm, the fries were very soft and not crispy at all. The whole meal was more of a visual treat. We told the friendly waitress, who apologized and offered us coffee and ice cream as compensation.

Although we didn't have a reservation (which would certainly have been a good idea if we were planning on visiting), we were given a spontaneous table right by the water. Wonderful! Dieses Restaurant habe ich bisher wegen der Superlage am See besucht. Das Essen finde ich teuer und nicht besonders gut. Heute aber fühlte ich mich regelrecht abgezockt. Nach dem Essen hatte ich einen Milchkaffee (mit Hafermilch) bestellt. Milchkaffee besteht jeweils zur Hälfte aus Kaffee und Milch. In meiner Tasse befand sich jedoch nur ein Schluck Milch. Dieser Kaffee war mir viel zu dunkel und zu bitter. Also bat ich um mehr Hafermilch und bekam eine kleine Menge. Auf der Rechnung: 4,70 Euro für den "Milchkaffee", der keiner war 1,50 Euro Aufpreis für Hafermilch 1,50 Euro zusätzlich für ein wenig weitere Hafermilch. Macht 7,70 Euro!!! Der Aufpreis für Hafermilch beträgt in der Regel 50 oder 60 Cent. Noch nie habe ich mehr bezahlt. Und zum Milchkaffee, der keiner war, so wie er serviert wurde: Überall geht mal etwas schief. Und ich reklamiere nur selten etwas. Aber hier war ich fassungslos und sehr sauer über den Aufpreis von 1,50 Uhr. Deshalb meine erste negative Bewertung auf TripAdvisor.

Beautiful ambiance, right on the lake. The food was quite expensive, but we were a bit disappointed. The veal schnitzel was still quite thick, but the portion was very generous, unfortunately only served with potato salad. The pork fillet pieces were very thick, resulting in some of them being quite rare. It was tasty, but we were also a bit disappointed. They also forgot about our payment.

Superbly located with a view of Lake Plön. That's about it. The service was attentive, but barely there. They only asked if everything was okay when paying, even though there were only three tables and three people milling around serving. The service also had zero training in vegan options, even though vegan dishes are specifically marked on the menu. I'm pretty sure the salad dressing wasn't vegan. The vegan selection is okay, but the food was unfortunately pretty tasteless, which is a shame.

Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend the Seeprinz. The food was good as always. The service was unfortunately poor: the candles weren't lit, and the plates were cleared even though people were still eating at the table. The staff weren't trained at all, quite... The food was overpriced, and there wasn't enough to fill you up. We wanted to pay, but everyone looked away. The smoked fish on the narrow board couldn't be turned because it was clamped in place. Is anyone worried it might jump off the board? There's no plate for the fish skin... etc.

Leider waren meine Erfahrungen im Seeprinz enttäuschend. 1. Man wird gendutzt. Bin ich einem, wie angenommen, relativ guten, höherpreisigen Restaurant oder in einem Studentenlokal? Nach meiner Beschwerde darüber hatten wir Schwierigkeiten, überhaupt noch bedient zu werden. 2. Sehr junges Personal, wogegen im allgemeinen nichts gegen zu sagen ist. Aber ein paar Grund- und Benimmregeln wären angebracht. Ein Lächeln hätte nicht geschadet. Da ich das Restaurant schon des öfteren besucht habe, war ich über den Qualitätsverlust sehr erstaunt und enttäuscht.

First of all...the food was very good, except for the wilted side salad! However, we regretted our decision to eat inside. The only decorations on the windowsills were dead insects. The tea lights on our table remained unlit throughout our stay, three place settings had already been cleared while our fourth guest was still eating, and the service was friendly—but obviously untrained and seemed a bit helpless at times. At almost €40 for a main course and a (very good) glass of wine, you simply expect more attention to the surroundings and ambiance. It's a shame, because the food was really good!

The location and service were good. I don't think the price-performance ratio is right! The pork fillet was so dry, and the salad was from a bag with a slice of cucumber and a sliced sherry tomato. The price is probably due to the location 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nettes Ambiente. Schöner Blick auf den See. Das Essen war durchschnittlich. Ok, aber auch nicht mehr: FertigSauce zum Sellerieschnitzel. Leider war das Personal sehr laut mit Besteck sortieren beschäftigt. Das geht vielleicht auch an anderer Stelle, außer im Speiseraum?

Warning! Staff completely overwhelmed! Not only did the temporary worker have trouble maintaining customer contact, but the manager, in particular, displayed such unfriendly behavior that it completely contradicts the job description! It's a shame, really; the place is nice, and we also wanted to coordinate details for a birthday party... Now the competition is happy!

Delicious food served directly on the terrace, practically in the lake. The terrace was built into the lake. Wonderful views of Princes' Island. Large parasols protect you from direct sunlight.

Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio isn't right. The entrance is very unkempt. Very noisy and uncomfortable. It's a shame; it's been much better.

We were only partially satisfied with the food. The burgers were good, but we ordered two fish dishes for almost €30 each and found two pieces of mini fish, pre-cooked convenience potatoes, and a side salad with lots of over-browned lettuce leaves.

After a long search, we decided on this restaurant—we wanted to eat by the lake. We didn't have to wait and got a table on the terrace. It's really nice! My chicken burger was very good. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes on the second course weren't very good. But the friendly staff made up for it with coffee.

We went to Seeprinz for brunch with our family for the second time, and once again we were thrilled. The selection, service, ambiance, and friendly, attentive staff: Plenty of everything, and everything was top-notch. Even our request for gluten-free rolls was easily accommodated. In conclusion: Once again, the trip from Hamburg was absolutely worth it. We'd love to come back.

Tolle Lage mit fantastischem Blick über den Plöner See! Und selten so einen leckeren Matjes mit Bratkartoffeln gegessen! Total lecker 😋. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir waren zu 8 und allen wurde ihr Essen gleichzeitig serviert. Es hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt

We went for Mother's Day breakfast. Pre-ordered, but menu options have to be specified when making the reservation, which I personally don't mind. Everything was already prepared when we arrived. The rolls were super fresh and delicious, with plenty of cold cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Coffee and other drinks weren't included in the breakfast menu; they had to be ordered separately. The view directly onto the lake is priceless. It was simply amazing.

We only ordered two ice creams, after 45 minutes the waiter came to us for the first time and apologized, the ice cream would be there soon. After another 15 minutes he came again and was completely irritated that we still didn't have our ice cream. The whole thing went on like this every 10 minutes, apologizing again and again and reassuring us that the ice cream was currently being prepared. End of the song, after a little over 1.5 hours we left without ice cream 🤷🏼‍♀️

A culinary prince in Plön How nice it is to have a good meal and to be treated with exemplary, honest courtesy and professionalism. How nice it is when this happens three times. November 2024, March 2025 and April 2025. While unfortunately one often experiences that a restaurant rests on its great view/great location and the service and cuisine are rather poor, the great location competes with very tasty food and very good service staff. Be it a young lady in November who does this as a part-time job while attending high school and has such “host qualities” that many full-time adult “professionals” do not, or in all of the other two visits. As I write these lines, I'm already thinking up a reason for the next visit. So it won't be long before I'll be a guest again.

Excellently located restaurant and very friendly service. Unfortunately the food wasn't up to par. I have never eaten such tasteless, half-cooked asparagus. The potatoes served with it were also bland and lukewarm, and the side salad was overly sweet. My impression was that the liquid added as melted butter was something completely different and something I couldn't define. The wine was fine.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Seeprinz in Plön. The location right on the water offers a fantastic view and a relaxed atmosphere. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The meat on my plate didn't initially meet my expectations, but was replaced immediately and easily - the new plate was really excellent. Even though the side salad was a little too sweet for my taste, the rest of the meal was delicious. Overall, a very pleasant and positive experience – we would be happy to come back.

Overpriced and uninspired snack food, lovingly served in a sensational location. You can virtually enjoy the distant view over the lake with your feet in the water. To do this, however, you have to drink Bavarian Helles or Weizen (of course there is wine and spirits, but no other beer) and accept completely overpriced prices for the food. My matjes, offered for sale at a gourmet price of €21.90, was unfortunately of poor discounter quality and accompanied by a thick mayo paste as a sauce and lettuce leaves half-heartedly drizzled with ready-made sauce. Should I have chosen the currywurst for €18.90 or the veal schnitzel for €30.60? Next time it would be better to just have a cocktail on the sun deck, after dinner somewhere else.
