We had a delicious meal outside on the sunny terrace...very friendly service...highly recommended...but you should bring your time! The two waitresses are very busy and have to walk a really long way!

The service staff were terrible. We sat outside for about 15 minutes and were simply ignored. They had noticed us, but small talk with "acquaintances" was probably more important. Why is the restaurant industry doing so poorly?

No. So rude. I hadn't found anything on the menu. Then... I think it was the boss, asked what the problem was. Very nicely, of course. I said I couldn't find anything apart from the grill plate, but it didn't say which meat was on it. He said a sausage, neck, turkey and rump steak... I said the sausage and neck could stay out and that I would like fries instead of fried potatoes. The food came. The fries were way too salty and I like salt 😂. I wasn't even asked how I wanted the rump steak. It arrived at the table almost raw, so I could only eat part of it. We then went out for a bit to have a smoke. We came back in. The food had been cleared away. There was still half a thing on the plate and bowl..... The waiter came, I spoke to him, called the lady from the dishwashing room.... The rump steak is still here, can I bring it back for you? No, thank you, I said. Please give me the bill that my aunt paid. When I looked at the bill, I asked the waiter why we had to pay the full price for the mixed grill. The boss came... I asked again, and he immediately got angry, so I asked him not to raise his voice. He said he had to charge an extra €3 for the rump steak. Well, we were then called stupid and rudely asked to leave the restaurant. He had already drunk his four glasses of wine in the one hour. So, not recommended. Best, Kati

Delicious dishes at reasonable prices. The daily specials for €11.40 are also highly recommended. The ambiance is cozy, and the service is friendly.

It was our first time there and we enjoyed the delicious food, but unfortunately it was also our last, as the live music guy had no manners and drove us away. We had to endure his overly loud music while we ate, and we weren't able to talk afterward. I had actually recorded a very nice sequence of his music on video. I showed it and wanted to publish it. He insulted me and my girlfriend, so we quickly left this place, where no one knew how to behave decently and in a civilized manner, and never saw each other again. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Whether you sit inside or outside, the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance with beautiful old wooden tables and chairs. The menu is diverse, catering to every taste, from vegans to meat lovers. We had the poultry fricassee and the sauerfleisch (sauerfleisch), both highly recommended. The fried potatoes are divine. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Plön.

Overall, it's okay. The prices are comparable to other country cafes, but the ambiance, quality, and service aren't comparable. Everything could be better, especially the more loving service. It's a shame that the cakes aren't visible and only some are homemade.

Nice ambiance, great atmosphere. We were served quickly and were even offered water for our dog. The food was okay, the beer was tasty... Surprisingly, the kitchen was faster than our drinks... Paying was especially exciting... suddenly, they added €1.50 for treating the dog to water, which had been offered to us beforehand... We probably won't be back.

The four of us had dinner in mid-April 2025. The food came at the same time, it was hot, the plates were warmed up, all 4 dishes were very fair in size and tasted really good. We thought we would order the dishes again. Why not 5 stars? The “extra” is missing a bit. In another restaurant, the ketchup and mayonnaise are placed in two small round containers arranged like a pharmacy scale. I am aware that this is not directly related to the food, but I assign it to that. The service was really good. It was an older lady who simply still wanted to work with customers, even though she had already reached retirement age. The ambience was good (4 stars), as the restaurant is on the ground floor with slight hints of basement, the number of windows are reduced and a bit dark. We'll be back, it's nice that there's a swimming pool

Unfortunately my food was completely over salted and the meat was hard. I was very disappointed because the sauce was pre-made. The boss very rude.

We ate there for a crime dinner and it was delicious, but 4 hours was too long for me

The food was okay, I received a very small portion but the taste was good. What was unpleasant was that everything (especially the drinks) felt like it took forever. The service was very nice but unfortunately it was far too rare to order from us.

Food, service and ambience are very good. What we repeatedly observed or heard was a verbal exchange of blows between the owner (?) and his wife (?). The food has always been good. Also the service: Humorous, always with a relaxed attitude, courteous and very friendly. In our opinion, highly recommended.

The food is good but more for real meat lovers. And lovers of North German cuisine.

Food tasted good, staff unfriendly, especially the lady at the tap.

The summer garden is beautiful, and I still find the price-performance ratio in this restaurant to be reasonable.

A beautiful garden and nice staff. The food was very good. 1. Irish stew with marjoram potatoes. Extra request: no problem without marjoram. 2. Matjes fillet with delicious housewife sauce and really good fried potatoes. - Must also be skilled. From us 👍

We have to wait until the waitress was finished making the phone call. Then he simply ignored us without putting us off. We chose a table ourselves and cleared it ourselves. The table was dirty and wasn't cleaned. After a long wait we were finally served and not greeted. The food wasn't anything great, as the high price would suggest. The place is dark, depressing and cold, also the atmosphere and dingy and dirty. I won't go there anymore. I felt very uncomfortable. To top it all off, we had a ticket on the car. There is no sign in sight that says there are restricted parking restrictions. I'll take action against that!

Impossible behavior. I politely went up to the waitress with glasses and short hair and asked where we could sit down. Without eye contact and greeting, the only greeting was a mushy "where there is free" there wasn't much going on and after about 5 minutes the waitress and I had eye contact, until after 10 minutes another couple came up in a friendly manner, I knew that it was probably on my appearance (brown hair, brown eyes, brown skin). The location is nice but the service is rubbish

Oh dear: we were there twice and both times the staff seemed overwhelmed, friendly but disorganized. It simply took too long, the guests marched in rows inside to collect the cash. Parasols were also just fake. Despite the harsh sun and little wind, they remained closed. It was tasty, but we refrained from ordering any more, such as ice cream or cake, otherwise we would still be sitting there...

Small portions but very tasty food in a nice atmosphere

We got married in Plön Castle and celebrated here in the “Alte Schwimmhalle Restaurant” (as well as in the rented cultural hall) from coffee time until the early hours of the next morning. The good first: The meal was delicious!! The bad: The boss not only celebrated and danced along (which can unfortunately also be seen in the photos and videos), but also warmly joined in -🍻 🥂🥃. At a late hour he was no longer in control of the situation to have everything under control and in view and shortly before the end of the event he was very drunk that he pissed us and our witnesses off: “lousy Frexxx; Arxxx violins; Säcxx...", to name just a few. That was very disturbing. He treated a female guest and put his apron over her head from behind with the words: “my little nun”. We didn't find out about her until the next day. During the (for us very moving) speeches between the courses from our witnesses, the boss followed our speakers behind the curtain to the buffet -🐵 and we as the bride and groom had a full view of him. It was late at night and suddenly there were schnapps on the guests' tables. However, we have stated several times in advance (and also in written form via email) that we would not allow any schnapps to be served unless we, the bride and groom, would order them. What unfortunately went down: The human resources manager and all service staff were without exception courteous, attentive, professional, barely visible and at the same time everything was always taken care of. We really hope that the tip that the boss received from our best man for the employees was handed over in full to the staff. ADDENDUM THE REVIEW HAS APPARENTLY BEEN REPORTED AND REMOVED. So we customize them with images instead of words. WE HAVE EVIDENCE AND WITNESSES OF THIS BEHAVIOR.

A quiet garden oasis in the middle of the tourist hotspot Plön. Very good food at fair prices, especially the daily specials. Extremely friendly service and also dog friendly. Right behind the castle, not far from the pedestrian zone.

Even though there was nothing about coffee on the menu at the entrance, I went in and didn't regret it. A very friendly waitress explained the offer to me. The cake was very good. I might try the lunch menu. My recommendation!

Unfortunately, food took forever. Many guests have already left. It was also partly oversalted. But it's nice to sit in the garden.

Went there on a sunny Sunday and got a comfortable seat in the outdoor area. The coffee and cake were really good and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately the service was not convincing. This wasn't because we were treated unfriendly, but rather because we were overlooked. In addition, another condition simply came to our table without a "hello" and when asked what was in the cake, only answered "I would have to ask" and stood there... a bit strange.. Still a nice place, would come again :)

Very nice atmosphere and great service, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio didn't convince us (1 star deducted). The prices for the starters were quite high.

The restaurant is located right next to the castle - right in the center and is easily accessible - there are enough parking spaces. The old rustic building conjures up a beautiful ambience, outside like a castle garden - inside then rather rustic, a bit like the old swimming pool... but very rustic, great pictures - we felt very comfortable there. Great staff, nice - little frills attached - and everything was done to our utmost satisfaction. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Great address for dining - we'll be happy to come back.

The food tasted very good. The meat was delicately seasoned and tender. You can't expect large quantities here. Nevertheless, I find the restaurant quite magical, also because of the location and the sophisticated ambience

Food is alright, but the service is frustratingly slow. It took nearly an hour to get our food.

We ordered plaice, nice and brown, but it was still so light and you couldn't eat the skin, and veal schnitzel that was cooked in French fries. The best thing was the fried potatoes. The service was just fine, so there were old umbrellas lying around dirty outside. One should clean up on the tables Blanket was good or placemats were missing the nice ambience

The restaurant is located in the basement of the old Prussian castle swimming pool. The tables are relatively close because the restaurant is busy. It is advisable to make a reservation at lunchtime, as many pensioners eat the daily special here. The quality of the food on offer is good overall, although the seasoning is sometimes a bit bland. One would like to have cruets on the table in this case. The parsley and tomato decoration is usually placed in the middle of the dish. If the service brings the food to the table quickly and that is the rule, that is completely ok. The menu is relatively clear. The dessert selection in particular was quite spartan. The price is relatively high. In summary, one can say that this is an owner-managed local restaurant with friendly employees, very good cuisine and a cozy dining room, which stands out pleasantly from the gastronomic mediocrity. So definitely recommended!

Wir waren auf einem Sonntag Abend da Wir hatten Rübenmuss und es gab ein Tagesgericht Lamm mit Bohnen und Kartoffelgratin für sage 10 Euro Mit einem kleinen Salat Sehr lecker und ausreichend das man davon satt wurde Rübenmus war auch sehr lecker Weil Sonntag war spendierte der Chef einen kleinen Nachtisch und kam an unseren Tisch um zu fragen ob alles in Ordnung sei Wir gehen da wieder hin

Karnevalsanfang 2023 in Plön. Wetter und Fußgängerzone trist. Immerhin hatte dieses Restaurant am frühen Nachmittag geöffnet. Gemütliche Atmosphäre und freundliche Bedienungen. Geringe Wartezeit, da nicht viel Betrieb. Die Kürbissuppe beigefarben und wässrig. Ich kannte bisher nur orangefarbene Kürbissuppen. Geschmacklich dominiert wurde das dünne Süppchen von dem zur Verzierung reichlich aufgebrachten Kürbiskernöl. Schwach. Der Herbstsalat mit Ziegenkäse war hübsch angerichtet, mit Him- und Heidelbeeren garniert. Der Salat leider ertränkt mit öligem Dressing. Insgesamt in Ordnung, aber recht belanglos. Das Tagesgericht Currywurst mit Pommes und Beilagenkrautsalat zum Preis von 10,- mit gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Tomatensoße zur Wurst war allerdings etwas fade und wie die Suppe zu dünn. Immerhin aufgepeppt durch frische Kräuter. Der Beilagensalat war angenehm würzig. Alle Gerichte übersichtlich bemessen, satt war ich nicht. Fazit: Solides Mittelmaß ohne geschmackliche Höhepunkte. Preislich noch angemessen, vor allem wegen des leckeren Tagesgerichts.

Sehr gemütlich. Kaffee und hausgemachter Kuchen. Kommen gerne wieder.

Immer, wenn wir in Plön sind gehen wir in die alte Schwimmhalle. Das Essen ist lecker, die Tagesangebote unschlagbar in Preis und Leistung. Herausragend ist der Service. Unglaublich freundlich, nie hektisch und so, dass man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Danke für die schönen Abende, die wir dort schon verbringen durften!

Ein ganz tolles Restaurant, gemütlich und urig eingerichtet,ein wunderschöner Außenbereich. Die Betreiber sind aufmerksam und absolut Gäste orientiert. Das Essen war allerhöchstest Niveau,von meinem Matjes werde ich noch oft träumen, soooo lecker ❤️wir wurden herzlich empfangen und bekamen noch etwas von einem live Musik Event mit,der sich klasse anhörte,aber wir hatten schon Karten für einen andern event in Plön. Wie hätten aber sicher auch in der alten Schwimmhalle Spaß gehabt . Fazit:tolles Essen,reizende Betreiber,toller Service,ich freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch ❤️❤️

Leider wurde unsere Bestellung falsch aufgenommen und wir mussten deshalb recht lange warten. Trotzdem war der Service gut und es wurde sich entschuldigt.

Hallo ihr Lieben... diese Woche haben meine Kids und ich Plön besucht... nach der Besichtigung des Schlosses, sowie Prinzenhaus sind wir in die gastronomische Einrichtung " Alte Schwimmhalle" gegangen. Die Dame die uns bediente war super nett und hat bei der Bestellung auch ganz lieb an meine Enkelkinder gedacht. Das Essen hat wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt... Ich kann es nur empfehlen... Ein Manko gab es allerdings doch... der Gang in die Keramikabteilung (WC) Es kam mir vor, als wenn man durch Lagerräume in die absolut hinterste Ecke geht... Die Türen sahen aus als wenn man in eine Kühlzelle geht... schwere Metalltüren mit ungewöhnlichen Griffen... Uuuuund dann der Geruch... von Urin... sowas von penetrant... !!!! Brise one Touch, eine Dufttüte oder eine angenehm riechende Kerze wären sicher gut... Leider war die Händedesinfektion auch alle ...🤦... Wäre ich vor der Bestellung auf die Toilette gegangen, hätte ich sicher nicht dort gegessen... In diesem Sinne... Anke

Einfach wow! Toller Service, tolles Ambiente und ein Koch der es voll drauf hat. Ob Fisch oder Fleisch es ist einfach nur köstlich. Preis-Leistung perfekt.

Also die Torten und das Essen (Fisch) waren sehr lecker. Allerdings war beides nicht besonders viel. Es müssen ja nicht immer riesen Portionen sein, aber bei einer Torte gibt es schon normale und kleine (niedrige) Stücke. Das Zusammenstellen der Stühle wurde nicht gerne gesehen.

Kommen immer wieder sehr gerne zum Essen. Es ist herrlich dieses gute Essen draussen in der Natur genießen zu können.

Wirklich sehr leckeres Essen und nettes Ambiente, aber der Service war eine Katastrophe am 29.05.23. Keine feste Tischaufteilung, maximal gestresst und es hat ewig gedauert, bis man die Karte bekam und dann bestellen durfte.
