Delicious, generous portions of food in a cozy atmosphere. Suggestions for improvement: the blonde waitress shouldn't wear slippers and dark Adidas tracksuit bottoms. I also saw the man from the kitchen wearing slippers – it looked out of place. Furthermore, the waitress disappeared into the back room for 15 minutes, causing unnecessary waiting. Finally, guests shouldn't be addressed informally.

Very friendly staff, delicious food, the best schnitzel in Weimar and the surrounding area. The wait time for the food was okay. I'd gladly come again and can highly recommend it.

We spontaneously decided to eat here at the onion market and were very lucky to get a table right away. The food was delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, the dining room is too dark. It's cozy, but I like to be able to see the food while eating, and the presentation could be improved.

The fact that a restaurant is always packed when you walk by doesn't necessarily mean it's bad – it could simply mean that people have to wait forever for their food. A single server is hopelessly understaffed, and therefore they can't be blamed for being overwhelmed. Nevertheless, a 90-minute wait for food is simply unacceptable.

The sign says their hours are 5 pm to 9 pm. We saw a review saying they stop serving after 8 pm. We went at 7:30 pm and they practically kicked us out. I don't know how good the food is, but I would never go back!

We came here for dinner and were completely impressed. The schnitzel was exceptionally delicious, freshly prepared, and served in a really generous portion – even the regular size is more than enough. We particularly liked the selection of different varieties, so there's something for every taste. The price and quality are absolutely right and fair. The ambiance is a perfect fit for Weimar – cozy, inviting, and very well-kept. You immediately notice that great importance is placed on cleanliness here. The service was also extremely friendly, attentive, and warm, which made the visit even more pleasant. A big plus for us: It's very dog-friendly! Our four-legged friend was welcome everywhere and felt just as comfortable as we did. All in all, a great place that we can wholeheartedly recommend – we'll definitely be back!

That was nothing! If you want overpriced bottled beer from a crate served by a waitress in sweatpants who also serves as a kitchen assistant, this is the place to go. The food was attractively presented, as you'd expect from many pictures, but that was the only positive thing. It tasted dry and stale, like old grease. The mushroom sauce was full of E. Our food and that of the other tables arrived quite late. I got my food five minutes before my wife! The counter was littered with empty bottles, used glasses, and dirty plates. Those taking food to go had to pack it themselves. There was a time when you'd walk in and hear the chef pounding schnitzel the whole time, and it tasted absolutely fantastic. Now the restaurant is a great example of how not to do it.

It was great here. A long-held wish of my daughter's. A reservation is definitely recommended. We didn't have any luck the first time we tried spontaneously. The food was delicious, and there was plenty left for the next day. It's good that takeout is more or less already planned. The service handles everything independently, but doesn't make you feel stressed. Very pleasant and very friendly. We felt at home and would gladly come back.

The ambiance is cold and uncomfortable, with no background music and simple decor. The service is attentive and friendly. I would have expected more from the schnitzel. It's good for the average family palate, but nothing special, or rather, the cooking technique is poorly executed for a restaurant that only serves schnitzel. The veal schnitzel was very thick, the pieces were tough, and there were few to no bubbles in the breading. Not my idea of a Wiener schnitzel.

The fried pork cutlet was fresh and the portion was beyond imagination. The chef cooks it on the spot after you place your order. The steak was more tender than the pork cutlet. The lighting was a bit dim.

You are literally in a schnitzel oasis! I devoured a delicious, authentic veal Viennese Schnitzel 😋. While waiting, it took a while but was more than worth it, we heard how the schnitzels were prepared. It sounded familiar to me; I spent years working in the kitchen of De Duinrand in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, preparing schnitzels. First dust them with flour, then dip them in egg, and finally coat them with breadcrumbs. The food was excellent 👌. Thank you very much 🙏.

A huge compliment to the kitchen. We've rarely eaten such a delicious schnitzel. The side dishes were also really good. Let's take one thing at a time... The Schnitzel Oasis may be located in the center of Weimar, less than 5 minutes from Goetheplatz and less than 10 minutes from Schillerstraße. Nevertheless, the restaurant is almost a bit hidden. Rather inconspicuous from the outside, it welcomes its guests with a rustic flair. The dining room is L-shaped around the bar and isn't very large. Therefore, the number of guests is manageable. This has a major advantage: you can eat delicious food and still have a conversation at a normal volume because you can still hear the other person. Reservations are recommended so you don't leave hungry. The menu is – the concept is evident here – straightforward and focuses primarily on schnitzel dishes. Those expecting 40 different schnitzel variations may be disappointed. But the focus on the schnitzel available certainly also ensures that the quality, taste, and quantity are above average for the price (approx. €20 per dish). The beer selection is "typically" Thuringian and goes very well with the Schnitzel Elase. A quick side note: At the Schnitzel Elase, you can also get a 0.75-liter bottle of water for under €6. That's almost a record... The service is good. We were asked several times whether we liked the food and whether we needed anything else. Questions about the meal were also answered in a friendly manner, and our request for a change of side dish was accommodated at no extra charge. The restaurant is clean, both in the dining room and in the restrooms. Since the tables don't have tablecloths, they can be easily wiped down. Schnitzel lovers should definitely come here. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back when we're in Weimar.

Well, I thought it was really great 😁 Nice little restaurant with something for everyone on the menu. Very, very lean meat, which is, of course, freshly pounded and breaded to perfection. TOP 👍 I absolutely can't understand the reviews regarding "unfriendly service"! The young woman was very friendly to me, and even the chef (boss) came into the dining room and asked if everything was okay! What guests should know in advance, though, is that you have to be really hungry, because the portions are quite large 😁 Conclusion: It was great with you... I'm not eating anything for two days now 😉

The waitress was very friendly, so we immediately felt at home. The menu is small but fine, with many different types, demonstrating just how diverse a schnitzel can be. The Schnitzel Oasis lives up to its name. They serve freshly pounded schnitzels with various side dishes and sauces. The portions are large enough to fill you up. I'd skip the side salad next time, although it was tasty. I was completely stuffed afterward. For those who are extremely hungry, there's also an XXL version. A colleague had it and just barely managed to finish it. The sauces are served in a sauce boat so the schnitzels don't get soggy. The service was friendly and quick.

We were on a short vacation in Weimar and discovered this little gem more or less by chance. It's a great, rustic restaurant dedicated entirely to schnitzel, as the name suggests, and the chef definitely knows how to make it (the schnitzels are thin and crispy, just as they should be). It's not a mass-production operation, the schnitzels are still pounded by hand. You can accept the occasional "longer" wait (it's worth it). The price/performance ratio was fantastic, but the regular portion is perfectly sufficient. You can also upgrade to an XXL if you're particularly hungry, but the regular portion was already enormous. When things quieted down a bit in the restaurant, the head chef himself even came to check with each table to see if everything was okay. We started chatting and even learned his secret for his perfect fried potatoes. The service was also excellent; the waitress was the only one in the restaurant, which was packed at the time, but she was still very attentive and did her best to handle the rush. So if you're looking for a little insider tip where you can go for a good, tasty meal in Weimar, I would definitely recommend the Schnitzeloase. We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in Weimar.

If you love a proper schnitzel, this is the place for you. It tastes absolutely delicious. Even my special requests, which every waiter hates, were accommodated very kindly. It's just a shame that there's no dessert option.

No one asked if I wanted another drink (despite my empty glass), and the dishes were passed from the side over a barrier to the table, so we had to pass the plates to the right place ourselves. I don't know if the service was having a bad day, but it was anything but what I expect from good service. Therefore, I didn't leave a tip.

Discovered the restaurant by chance. We were already desperate to find something in Weimar that we liked. In the end we ended up here. What luck. The staff is super friendly. The chef or owner came out of the kitchen, greeted us and said the guest is not just king here, but friends. And that's exactly how we felt. Simply in good hands. The food is really good and you can see the love in its preparation. The schnitzel was juicy and the breading was delicious. Not too thickly breaded either. The portion was extremely large and the price-performance ratio was great. We shared a normal portion. And we didn't even manage that. So if you're in Weimar, take a look. I think you won't be disappointed. Oh yes, we were lucky and found a place. Maybe reserve in advance 😇 Ps: This is the Greek schnitzel filled with sheep's cheese...delicious

We were there with 8 people and had reserved a table. The restaurant was busy, and both the chef and the waitress worked alone. The chef came by personally and apologized for the waiting time (which was well over 30 minutes, by the way). But honestly: the wait was more than worth it! The food was absolutely amazing - crunchy vegetables, super tender and huge schnitzels, fresh salad and incredibly delicious fried potatoes. Time passes faster with good company, and with such a delicious meal you immediately forget every minute of waiting. A really friendly shop with really good food.

Monster portions and really tasty, we decided on the "normal" portion...we could have also taken the XL portion...we didn't manage our "normal" portion...great service, great setting and fair prices, plus the quality of the food is right...a real recommendation and we will eat here again on our next visit

If it were possible I would even give more stars because this restaurant really deserves it in everything! We, two adults and a 13-year-old child, dined there yesterday on a public holiday and were immediately greeted very attentively, friendly and openly. The restaurant is very warmly decorated with lots of small details. Our dishes were fabulous and a real treat for the palate and our best schnitzel ever! You can choose your own meat variants between pork, veal and turkey and you have extremely competent service that is very friendly and will help you with advice and assistance! The price-performance ratio is unbeatable for the fresh quality of the dishes provided! Later, the boss personally wished us a "bon appetit" who also speaks very courteously and kindly to his guests, which is simply unique these days! We really enjoyed our stay in this restaurant and would like to visit it again and again and of course recommend it to others with a clear conscience! So if you want to experience a culinary delight, go ahead ;)

We reserved a table for 6 people on a Friday evening at around 6pm. We were taken to our table where the cards were already laid out. It took 25 minutes until we could place our order including drinks. The staff seemed quite unstructured as the other tables were cleared before we could order. We finally got the food after 1 hour and 15 minutes. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. You could hardly taste the schnitzel because of all the breading and I found unidentifiable crumbs in my water. In the end we wanted to take the food with us because it was just way too much and didn't even taste good. We had to pack it ourselves, which is just not possible for me (us). That's why only 1 star for service. I also found the service to be very unfriendly and reserved. In addition, it was very loud, your ears were ringing. Unfortunately not a nice experience.

Rarely seen such rude staff in a restaurant. No staff to be seen upon entering, waited 5 minutes at the bar to ask where we could sit. After 5 minutes I hadn't seen anyone so I sat at an empty table. After some time, a lady in a tracksuit came to shout from a distance about whether we had made a reservation. When we indicated that this was not the case, after a lot of sighing, we were directed to another table via hand gestures. You learn these hand signals at the average puppy course. Confused, we took a seat at the other table. When the waiter still couldn't get a kind word in, we went to the neighbors. Had a very tasty schnitzel there. Very friendly service. We had a reservation for a larger group and arrived 15 minutes before opening time. The owner came out and bought us each a beer. That's customer service! The food is incredibly delicious. Large portions, and the price is more than fair. We'd love to come back.

We wanted to reserve a table for three people by phone for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday March 8th, 2025 (we called at 5:30 p.m.) A young lady answered the phone and when I asked, she immediately brushed me off and said "No, that's not possible, ciao" and placed the phone in my face. When we walked past the restaurant an hour later, there were a handful of guests in the restaurant. Of course we thought it was a shame, but we definitely know that if we are in Weimar again, we will never set foot in this restaurant! Therefore I can only agree with other reviews that say exactly the same thing as me. This is definitely not how you treat potential guests, so only one star!

Unfortunately, the service was extremely unfriendly, the three of us weren't even allowed in one evening even though there were obviously still seats available. So, overall: food was very good, service was incredibly unfriendly.

We were really disappointed - a waitress who was totally unfriendly liked to stand on her cell phone and gave every guest the same impression. Just order and leave me alone. There is also a tap where there are signs indicating which beer is available, but it is served from bottles. Then another woman came in who just didn't want to lift her foot and made unpleasant noises. The food was okay but not the screamer, which was a shame. No recommendation to come here.

The food was good. Big portion, so I didn't make it. You could take the rest with you, but you had to pack it up yourself at the table. I didn't find it beautiful myself, It was very crowded & very narrow & the table was much too small for 4 people. You had the feeling as soon as you were finished that you were leaving so that the next ones could come. Also not nice when you have booked the table and are looking forward to a cozy evening together. All in all, the food was ok, service & friendliness was good, rather cool, there was no need for repetition.

This was an amazing meal! I had the schnitzel with champignon rahm sauce while the hubby had schnitzel au four. We both made sure we finished it. The schnitzel was moist and flavorful which doesn't always happen. Although the wait staff wasn't totally great, the owner was fun to talk to and made us Americans feel right at home. I've marked this restaurant as a favorite on Google maps and I hope you do too if you are ever visiting Weimar, Deutschland!

We very spontaneously got a place for 2 people. The boss was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the two waitresses were the complete opposite. Very unmotivated and unfriendly, one of them was sitting at the table with her cell phone. However, the food was delicious. A little tip: The sauce could have been warm and the large plate of the xl schnitzel could have been warmed up a little beforehand, because that way the schnitzel doesn't stay warm for long.

Nice place, great schnitzel. The fries were awesome. However, one thing bothered me and that was the waitresses. They seemed very annoyed, were not very communicative and had very long artificial nails, some of which had broken off were. Kind of gross. Glasses that were filled and brought to the table were touched at the drinking rim and served. It doesn't work at all. The boss (I assume it was him) was absolutely friendly, funny and you felt like you were in good hands.

A nice little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The food was good, except for one small thing that I can largely ignore. The women who were supposed to be serving were unfriendly and dressed as if they were about to go to the couch with a bag of chips. Absolutely dubious and with fingernails that weren't suitable for operating the cash register. They couldn't say thank you or goodbye and when I told them the dip for my meal was bad the answer was that it couldn't be and I was wrong. But if tzatziki makes your tongue tingle, that's not ok for me. I would have expected at least an apology. So she wasn't interested at all! Unfortunately I couldn't leave a tip when paying, sorry.

The schnitzels are great and the price-performance ratio is right. The waitresses are inattentive, seem bored, annoyed or disinterested and look somehow unkempt. (Jogging pants, inappropriately long fingernails, far too much make-up, sometimes working with cappi...) The atmosphere could be nice if the fruit flies weren't infesting everything. Everything is a bit cramped.

They also tasted good, but I had schnitzel au four and it immediately upset my stomach. What we also noticed was that many people wanted a table before 8 p.m. and were turned away even though the restaurant was empty.

“Eat schnitzel and make love”...the saying in the dining room was the only thing that was endearing in the Schnitzeloase Weimar. We have never been treated so arrogantly when asked if there was a table for two in an almost empty restaurant.

Incredible! We were in the restaurant at 7:50 p.m. Unfriendly, rude, annoyed service told us that the kitchen was too busy and we couldn't eat anything anymore. Kitchen would close at 8:00 p.m., although the menu advertises the schnitzels until 9:00 p.m. We were literally thrown out. We have never experienced anything like this!
