The food is delicious and the prices are very fair. During our visit, it was very loud, and the service was practically nonexistent. No one asked if I wanted another drink (despite my empty glass), and the dishes were passed from the side over a barrier to the table, so we had to pass the plates to the right place ourselves. I don't know if the service was having a bad day, but it was anything but what I expect from good service. Therefore, I didn't leave a tip.

Discovered the restaurant by chance. We were already desperate to find something in Weimar that we liked. In the end we ended up here. What luck. The staff is super friendly. The chef or owner came out of the kitchen, greeted us and said the guest is not just king here, but friends. And that's exactly how we felt. Simply in good hands. The food is really good and you can see the love in its preparation. The schnitzel was juicy and the breading was delicious. Not too thickly breaded either. The portion was extremely large and the price-performance ratio was great. We shared a normal portion. And we didn't even manage that. So if you're in Weimar, take a look. I think you won't be disappointed. Oh yes, we were lucky and found a place. Maybe reserve in advance 😇 Ps: This is the Greek schnitzel filled with sheep's cheese...delicious

We were there with 8 people and had reserved a table. The restaurant was busy, and both the chef and the waitress worked alone. The chef came by personally and apologized for the waiting time (which was well over 30 minutes, by the way). But honestly: the wait was more than worth it! The food was absolutely amazing - crunchy vegetables, super tender and huge schnitzels, fresh salad and incredibly delicious fried potatoes. Time passes faster with good company, and with such a delicious meal you immediately forget every minute of waiting. A really friendly shop with really good food.

Monster portions and really tasty, we decided on the "normal" portion...we could have also taken the XL portion...we didn't manage our "normal" portion...great service, great setting and fair prices, plus the quality of the food is right...a real recommendation and we will eat here again on our next visit

If it were possible I would even give more stars because this restaurant really deserves it in everything! We, two adults and a 13-year-old child, dined there yesterday on a public holiday and were immediately greeted very attentively, friendly and openly. The restaurant is very warmly decorated with lots of small details. Our dishes were fabulous and a real treat for the palate and our best schnitzel ever! You can choose your own meat variants between pork, veal and turkey and you have extremely competent service that is very friendly and will help you with advice and assistance! The price-performance ratio is unbeatable for the fresh quality of the dishes provided! Later, the boss personally wished us a "bon appetit" who also speaks very courteously and kindly to his guests, which is simply unique these days! We really enjoyed our stay in this restaurant and would like to visit it again and again and of course recommend it to others with a clear conscience! So if you want to experience a culinary delight, go ahead ;)

The best schnitzel I have eaten in my 46 years and highly recommended to everyone. When I come back to Weimar, I will enjoy a schnitzel at the Schnitzel Oase again 👍👍👍👍👍👍

We reserved a table for 6 people on a Friday evening at around 6pm. We were taken to our table where the cards were already laid out. It took 25 minutes until we could place our order including drinks. The staff seemed quite unstructured as the other tables were cleared before we could order. We finally got the food after 1 hour and 15 minutes. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. You could hardly taste the schnitzel because of all the breading and I found unidentifiable crumbs in my water. In the end we wanted to take the food with us because it was just way too much and didn't even taste good. We had to pack it ourselves, which is just not possible for me (us). That's why only 1 star for service. I also found the service to be very unfriendly and reserved. In addition, it was very loud, your ears were ringing. Unfortunately not a nice experience.

Rarely seen such rude staff in a restaurant. No staff to be seen upon entering, waited 5 minutes at the bar to ask where we could sit. After 5 minutes I hadn't seen anyone so I sat at an empty table. After some time, a lady in a tracksuit came to shout from a distance about whether we had made a reservation. When we indicated that this was not the case, after a lot of sighing, we were directed to another table via hand gestures. You learn these hand signals at the average puppy course. Confused, we took a seat at the other table. When the waiter still couldn't get a kind word in, we went to the neighbors. Had a very tasty schnitzel there. Thanks to the poor service, we still had a delicious schnitzel 😉.... at the neighbors, that is. (Kartofellhaus)

We would have liked to have eaten here but when we made a reservation by phone they simply hung up on us and on the second attempt no one answered the phone. Walked by later, two tables were occupied and we had already made reservations somewhere else.

Very friendly service. We had a reservation for a larger group and arrived 15 minutes before opening time. The owner came out and bought us each a beer. That's customer service! The food is incredibly delicious. Large portions, and the price is more than fair. We'd love to come back.

We wanted to reserve a table for three people by phone for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday March 8th, 2025 (we called at 5:30 p.m.) A young lady answered the phone and when I asked, she immediately brushed me off and said "No, that's not possible, ciao" and placed the phone in my face. When we walked past the restaurant an hour later, there were a handful of guests in the restaurant. Of course we thought it was a shame, but we definitely know that if we are in Weimar again, we will never set foot in this restaurant! Therefore I can only agree with other reviews that say exactly the same thing as me. This is definitely not how you treat potential guests, so only one star!

Completely empty restaurant and the three of us didn't have a table because "everything" was reserved. Have a nice weekend!

The veal schnitzel was super tasty. But we had to wait forever (1h+) for the food. Unfortunately, the service was extremely unfriendly, the three of us weren't even allowed in one evening even though there were obviously still seats available. So, overall: food was very good, service was incredibly unfriendly.

Very tasty schnitzel and great ambience. What I didn't like was that the waitress was sitting at the next table with her phone in her hand. I've been in the restaurant industry for 20 years but I've never experienced anything like this. But as I said, the schnitzel was extremely tasty and beautifully prepared with the mushrooms 👍

We were really disappointed - a waitress who was totally unfriendly liked to stand on her cell phone and gave every guest the same impression. Just order and leave me alone. There is also a tap where there are signs indicating which beer is available, but it is served from bottles. Then another woman came in who just didn't want to lift her foot and made unpleasant noises. The food was okay but not the screamer, which was a shame. No recommendation to come here.

The food was good. Big portion, so I didn't make it. You could take the rest with you, but you had to pack it up yourself at the table. I didn't find it beautiful myself, It was very crowded & very narrow & the table was much too small for 4 people. You had the feeling as soon as you were finished that you were leaving so that the next ones could come. Also not nice when you have booked the table and are looking forward to a cozy evening together. All in all, the food was ok, service & friendliness was good, rather cool, there was no need for repetition.

This was an amazing meal! I had the schnitzel with champignon rahm sauce while the hubby had schnitzel au four. We both made sure we finished it. The schnitzel was moist and flavorful which doesn't always happen. Although the wait staff wasn't totally great, the owner was fun to talk to and made us Americans feel right at home. I've marked this restaurant as a favorite on Google maps and I hope you do too if you are ever visiting Weimar, Deutschland!

We very spontaneously got a place for 2 people. The boss was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the two waitresses were the complete opposite. Very unmotivated and unfriendly, one of them was sitting at the table with her cell phone. However, the food was delicious. A little tip: The sauce could have been warm and the large plate of the xl schnitzel could have been warmed up a little beforehand, because that way the schnitzel doesn't stay warm for long.

Nice place, great schnitzel. The fries were awesome. However, one thing bothered me and that was the waitresses. They seemed very annoyed, were not very communicative and had very long artificial nails, some of which had broken off were. Kind of gross. Glasses that were filled and brought to the table were touched at the drinking rim and served. It doesn't work at all. The boss (I assume it was him) was absolutely friendly, funny and you felt like you were in good hands.

A nice little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The food was good, except for one small thing that I can largely ignore. The women who were supposed to be serving were unfriendly and dressed as if they were about to go to the couch with a bag of chips. Absolutely dubious and with fingernails that weren't suitable for operating the cash register. They couldn't say thank you or goodbye and when I told them the dip for my meal was bad the answer was that it couldn't be and I was wrong. But if tzatziki makes your tongue tingle, that's not ok for me. I would have expected at least an apology. So she wasn't interested at all! Unfortunately I couldn't leave a tip when paying, sorry.

The schnitzels are great and the price-performance ratio is right. The waitresses are inattentive, seem bored, annoyed or disinterested and look somehow unkempt. (Jogging pants, inappropriately long fingernails, far too much make-up, sometimes working with cappi...) The atmosphere could be nice if the fruit flies weren't infesting everything. Everything is a bit cramped.

Food and service top. It was very, very cold for us. Which was probably due to the large window area. I would come up with a solution for the winter months. In 2024, eat deliciously and plentifully. However, we waited 1.25 hours.

I love this place. The city is fantastic and when we visit we hit this place for some of the best Schnitzel you can find. We have never been disappointed with the quality of food, or the friendly service.

There were four of us and we had ordered beforehand. Unfortunately we were given a small round table in a niche that was anything but beautiful. The service was nice, but there is still room for improvement. The schnitzels were huge and the price was therefore reasonable. They also tasted good, but I had schnitzel au four and it immediately upset my stomach. What we also noticed was that many people wanted a table before 8 p.m. and were turned away even though the restaurant was empty.

“Eat schnitzel and make love”...the saying in the dining room was the only thing that was endearing in the Schnitzeloase Weimar. We have never been treated so arrogantly when asked if there was a table for two in an almost empty restaurant.

Small, very cozy restaurant! There is a manageable and very tasty selection of schnitzel dishes! The dishes come in 2 sizes! The “normal” size is already very big! My husband, a good eater, was very full! Restaurant is highly recommended! Table reservation is recommended!

Incredible! We were in the restaurant at 7:50 p.m. Unfriendly, rude, annoyed service told us that the kitchen was too busy and we couldn't eat anything anymore. Kitchen would close at 8:00 p.m., although the menu advertises the schnitzels until 9:00 p.m. We were literally thrown out. We have never experienced anything like this!

Hello, here's a tip that is absolutely worth it. We ate here and were impressed. The food was super delicious and very tasty. We can recommend this to everyone. The staff very friendly and nice and accommodating. For us the ''best'' schnitzel house we were in. Keep it up and we'll see each other again. Says the Staufenberger 🎭 puppet theater.

Small, beautiful shop in the old town, super delicious food. We were in Weimar on business and the Schnizmtzeloase was recommended to us. And we were lucky that she was recommended to us. Even the cook came to us. Conclusion: I can only warmly recommend the store.

You like schnitzel and you want something else then the standard ones? This is the place for you! A large veriaty of Schnitzels and even the option to "build" you own (like with pizza). The portions are BIG, and we did not even get the XL versions..... The Schnitzels are good and so is the accompanying fries. The mayonaise and ketchup bottles are equally large. The service was good enough.

The food is very tasty and tasty, just like a schnitzel should be, beautifully baked and the meat is very tender. A side dish also fits, previously there was a small bowl of salad with it. Why was this rationalized???? Service okay, friendly and quick. There are a few points of criticism about the ambience that could easily be addressed: The beautiful rustic counter hasn't seen a dust rag in a long time and furniture polish would give it a new shine. Furthermore, the tables were only half-heartedly cleaned. Unfortunately, we also noticed that there were cobwebs, dust lint and cocooned flies in the corners and corners of the ceilings, detracting from the charm of the restaurant. The amount of dust on the children's chair was also very noticeable!! What I also think is a shame is that the mosaic floor would be a beautiful eye-catcher if it was properly cared for. Last but not least, my eyes were drawn to the very overcast front window of the artificial chimney. So enough of my noted shortcomings, I hope that the criticism is an incentive!!! I can only recommend the Schnitzeloase to every schnitzel lover. Here you get a portion that is worth the money. This restaurant impresses with its taste as well as its great service!

The schnitzel was really really good, but you can ignore a few little things. Unfortunately, the staff is always busy, so you have to expect waiting times. But it depends on the guest relatively quickly. You just have to like the ambience, it's just kept small and cozy.

One of the best schnitzels I've eaten. Ordered No. 413 ("normal" schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries) The price performance is hard to beat, and the taste is also a real experience. Ketchup and mayo were included without asking and at no extra charge (unfortunately this isn't often the case anymore) so that's another plus point here. Food was hot and freshly prepared. Fries were crispy. Every schnitzel lover should eat here.

Nice restaurant in an appealing retro atmosphere with different schnitzel variations in two portion sizes (although the normal portion is already huge!) at more than reasonable prices. The quality of the food is very good and there are also a few alternatives for vegetarians. Parking available on the taxiway. Outside there are only self-service drinks. Nice and attentive service.

When we arrived at the place, we were involuntarily banned from eating it on site. The waitress was just lurking with unfriendliness and turned us away even though we were only three people. The waitress explained that eating food outside was not allowed and sent us away. Anyone traveling to Weimar should definitely avoid this and seek out a more respectful atmosphere.

We were there yesterday at 5:00 p.m. sharp and received a warm welcome. The food came quickly and tasted very good. The staff was also courteous and friendly. When I'm in Weimar again I will definitely visit the Schnitzeloase.

Unfortunately it wasn't that good. Very loud so what a meal you want to enjoy there. Schnitzel with cream mushrooms. Sauce was extra but very thin and watery with no taste.

I very rarely eat schnitzel but a friend took me to the schnitzel oasis and what can I say, I could have eaten up and down the menu once. So much choice that it's difficult to decide. I ordered a turkey schnitzel with cauliflower, hollondaise sauce and cheese gratinated with fries. It was a huge portion and just a huge pleasure. What I couldn't manage, I could have packed up. It's great that 3 different types of meat are offered here (pork, turkey + 3 euros and veal + ? euros). I can only recommend it to anyone who likes schnitzel and sometimes with various side dishes. There is something for everyone here.

The food was very good and the portions were huge. The waitress that day seemed a bit depressed, but did her job great and nice (even without a smile). What annoyed me was that I misheard the amount when paying and therefore gave her a tip of almost 15 euros. She accepted it without a hint. What should be mentioned positively, however, is that when I asked again, she gave me back the tip, which was incorrectly too high.
