Cake was very tasty. The rest inedible. Unfortunately it's a bit old. The waitress (older woman with blonde hair) was extremely rude and disrespectful. Especially towards POC’s. No recommendation!

The food was cold, carelessly prepared, the duck breast was well done. Everything warmed up. There shouldn't be a trained chef in the kitchen, but rather a warm-up assistant. We're never going there again. It's a shame, because it used to be good there.

Had lunch and coffee here and was fantastic. Very busy but staff were very attentive and quick to ask if all was ok whilst we wait for food to arrive. Nice atmosphere with great view of Schloss so well worth dropping in.

Das Essen lauwarm, auf zwei Limo danach mussten wir eine halbe Stunde warten, die Minze auf der Zitronen-Ingwer-Limo war vergammelt. Zwei ältere Herrschaften verließen geraume Zeit nach ihrer Ankunft verärgert das Lokal, weil niemand Notiz von ihnen genommen hatte, eine Dame am Nachbartisch bekam das falsche Essen, etwas weiter entfernt rüpelte eine Bedienung Gäste an, die sich offenbar beschwert hatten. Ein Blick in andere Bewertungen der jüngsten Zeit bestätigt das desaströse Bild, das sich uns bietet. Sehr schade und hoffentlich ändert sich das irgendwann wieder, denn das Lokal gehörte lange Zeit zu den gastronomischen Glanzlichtern in Weimar.

A nuisance. The food was cold, the duck breast was well-done, carelessly presented, puree and dumplings from the bag. The price-performance ratio is not right here. One wonders whether there is a cook in the kitchen or a warm-up person who has not learned the trade.

We have eaten here several times, but today we were unfortunately very dissatisfied. Despite the full restaurant, the service was very attentive, but did not take into account any specific requests made when eating. The vegan dumplings looked and tasted as if they were a ready meal.

Friendly, humorous service and high-quality products with exceptionally good taste. Despite the onion market and the busy times, a joke on your lips and a friendly smile on your face - that's quality.

Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie (incl. 4 Kinder) zum Geburtstags-Abendessen im „ Resi“. Das Ambiente im „Goethezimmer“ hat uns sehr gefallen, insbes. die lockere Sitzverteilung. Das Essen war sehr gut, frisch zubereitet und vorzüglich. Die beiden Damen, die uns bedient haben waren sehr empathisch und haben uns und insbesondere unseren Kindern das Gefühl gegeben, als Gäste sehr willkommen zu sein. So können wir das Personal, die Küche und das Ambiente im „Resi“ als außergewöhnlich ansprechend in Erinnerung behalten und werden deswegen auch sehr gern wiederkommen!

Today the two of us wanted to enjoy breakfast at Resi. My girlfriend has often been a guest here because the location is very cozy and the food is delicious. I was very happy about the vegan options on the menu, the vegan scrambled eggs were good and the chai was also available with oat milk. So so far everything is great. Unfortunately, you have to say that the waitresses were all quite unfriendly. Both the looks and the tone do not seem like you are welcome as a guest. Unfortunately, that's a real shame. A great ambience and good food also depend on service.

We came here just for the tempting vegan breakfast and were very impressed. Every animal lover’s heart beats faster here. Hot meals are also available here without animal cruelty. We would like to try these next time too. :) Our waiter was also very, very attentive and friendly. Before you even sat down, the coffee (with oat milk 💚) came to the table. 😁 A must for every person who loves all animals and not just pets <3

Birthday breakfast was a success. I invited my friend to breakfast on the occasion of her birthday. Reservation hassle-free. Always friendly and accommodating with the right pinch of humor. The breakfast was good, but not very good. The bacon was slightly too dry, as were the scrambled eggs. Unfortunately the tables are too small. If everything is on it, it will be very tight. Basically, it doesn't fit more than a large coffee and a small plate of cake. It could have been a little warmer, but not much. The atmosphere is great, the waitresses are nice and accommodating. All in all good but not outstanding. When you arrive, you should keep in mind that as a guest you cannot drive and park directly in front of Dad Café. The underground car park at the Dorint Hotel is a few hundred meters away and is easily accessible, and the path also takes you past the great city center. We'll be back, but it didn't make it to number one on our must-visit locations.

We actually only have the fondest memories of Resi and its food, but we were quite disappointed this time. It took a very long time. However, when the waitress is with you, the contact is very nice. Unfortunately the pumpkin pasta didn't taste good at all. The food was nicely prepared, but didn't taste like anything. Everything was missing: salt, pepper, onions, garlic, spices... there was nothing on it, not even parmesan. Ambience is still nice :;

We ate here every time we visited Weimar (very often). However, this was our last visit. At lunchtime around half past one we were completely ignored and then left without being served. In the evening around 5:30 p.m. we waited about 25 minutes until our order was taken, even two tables that came after us were ahead of us!! The food itself was completely seasoned with pepper, some of it was inedible, the dumplings were too firm and not fresh. Rostbrätel consisted only of fat and cartilage. But we were entertained. While waiting, we noticed that the cake display case was still half full of cakes (bottom) being cleaned with cleaner on top and the cleaner was spread throughout the display case. Restaurant seems to be getting old.

Resi is a wonderful, cozy and stylish café - has been around for decades. Perfectly located between the old town and the park, it offers a welcome rest for the feet and of course the palate is not neglected either. From sinful cakes to a nice selection of tea, savory and sweet breakfasts and the lunch menu is recommended. On nice weekends, a reservation is helpful.

We ordered 2 hot drinking chocolates. It tasted very watery and hardly like chocolate. For €4.50 you would expect something better. The service seemed overwhelmed even though there wasn't much going on.

Very, very nice, stylishly furnished café, although there was hardly any possibility of getting a seat at the onion market yesterday, we only had to wait 5 minutes and the friendly lady at the entrance assigned us a place, comfortable on the sofa. Always a great daily menu, delicious drinks, top service and also beautiful romantic rooms for wedding nights with very nice views from the room terrace. Clear recommendation. Updated: Even 14 years after the wedding, it's still a favorite. Good product quality, very tasteful. We still feel almost better than at home there :-)

It has become an absolute bad habit in Resi to portion the loose tea so small that the result is actually just hot water with little taste. Does it have to be that way? Do we really have to save money on something like this? I hope someone responsible is reading this. There is only a pained smile from certain service staff. We love having breakfast at Resi or stopping by for a piece of cake on the weekend and relaxing. Unfortunately we are not coffee drinkers. So please!!...one more crumb of tea and you'll make the people of Weima happy!

We were here twice in a row. It's awesome. I ate the world's best bruschetta here. The rest was also great. It's a shame that we live almost 400 km away.

The cultural highlights of Weimar were combined with a culinary and very service-oriented experience - in the Residenz Restaurant we were served, even looked after, above all else, attentively and courteously. Small and unconventional special requests with Chinese guests were met with great courtesy and, it seemed, effortlessly orchestrated by Sabrina. A very special thank you for that. Our next trip to Weimar will definitely have this culinary destination again.

The two of us had something to eat and drink outside in the afternoon when the sun was shining. The service was friendly and quick. The food was also tasty. We had roast pork and salmon with noodles. One drink each. All in all good. My beer was a bit "stale" and not at the right temperature, I think it had already been half full on the tap for at least 15 minutes. (It was 3:45 p.m....I was the only one outside with a beer). That's why I didn't order a second one. But otherwise really ok and you can eat and drink here.

Dear resi team, After a long time, my wife and I were once again in the Residenzcafe on our way from Berlin. Many beautiful memories and encounters are associated with this fine place and also with previous hospitality. This morning shortly after eight we came in, there were only two guests present apart from us, otherwise there were reservation signs on all the tables. Of course I can understand reservations, but if you look closely, all the reservations started after 9-10am. A young waiter came up and asked if we had a reservation. No, I said. Then I'll have to see if there's a free seat, he said without looking up. After a little while he showed us a table in the corridor to the door in the completely free café as the only option. We sat down, thought about the good times in a wicker chair by the window, when smoking was still allowed, drank coffee and ate scrambled eggs. We didn't hear a please or a thank you, a look or a "good day", let alone a "goodbye", which is what I didn't expect at the end, since it was really the first time we hadn't been able to give a tip. The not so nice review may not matter, because the Resi is still very busy and such a criticism is probably quickly brushed aside, but somehow I felt that today's early morning visit was a farewell visit. We were there for breakfast. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly or attentive. Food was okay, but nothing special. The portions were quite small, especially for the pancakes. All in all, not a recommendation.

It's been a few years since I was at Resi and I remembered the food as good, but the place as a whole as being rather conservative and stuffy. That's why I was skeptical when my friend suggested I go there today with two small children - and I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was very child-friendly and had various good ideas for responding to the little ones' wishes and needs. There is also a small table with children's books and art supplies. The food was very tasty, beautifully prepared and the menu offers both unusual and classic Thuringian cuisine. I was positively impressed by the selection of gluten- and lactose-free as well as vegan cakes as well as vegan and vegetarian dishes, caffeine-free coffee specialties with oat milk and non-alcoholic cocktails. This is a modern gastronomy that dares to step out of the comfort zone and thus appeals not only to younger guests, but also to people who find it difficult to eat and drink elsewhere due to unbearable conditions. We can only recommend it and would love to come back!

Great restaurant with a nice terrace and very good cuisine. Unfortunately, there is currently a road construction site in the immediate vicinity. Nevertheless, a visit is definitely worth it.

We always enjoyed going to Resi, now we wanted to introduce it to our friends. The reservation of a table for the following day was still friendly, you could probably push together another table and add another chair. Otherwise it is fully booked. It seems strange when there are no other guests in the restaurant apart from the five of us and then while we are eating we are already setting up for the following day's breakfast. Two out of five napkin caps were also missing from the place settings. When asked, the waitress bent down, picked one up, threw it over the table and said: "The other one is at the back, I knew I had uncovered five, I'm not dumb." My counterpart then fished it out from underneath. The napkins were not exchanged. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes weren't any, but rather chunky dumpling dough. When asked about this, there was only a mumbled answer, "then something wasn't enough." Otherwise, the food was reasonably tasty, but the service was below all dignity. I wanted to get grumpy and say something during the "napkin campaign", but my friends asked me not to. What the previous “everything is already full, but we can still push” fuss when making the reservation meant remains a mystery to us. However, I couldn't help but say "all the other guests have cancelled". We no longer recommend this restaurant.

I was a regular here in my youth. Occasionally for breakfast in the last few years. And then yesterday. Located right in the heart of Weimar. I took a seat on the terrace. There weren't many guests there. I waited, the waiter looked past me several times and went in. Came out, stood there. No reaction... I made myself known with hand signals. I was handed the menu and looked in a different direction. No hello, nothing. I didn't feel recognized as a guest. The food itself was really good. Chicken juicy and cooked to perfection. I wasn't even asked if it was tasty or if I wanted anything else. Too bad. I was used to the service at Resi, open-minded staff with friendly and funny conditions. Many thanks to the kitchen. Dear Kevin, maybe you read it as a little suggestion for improvement.

Went to the Residenz Cafe today quite spontaneously, Sat on a beautiful terrace, and At the same time we had very nice service, highly recommended again and again.

Once an institution in Weimar, the Resi is, as the locals say, now pretty run down and has degenerated into a service desert with bad food and bad wine. Not going is clearly the best decision!

While the reservation worked without any problems, the stay at the residence was unfortunately - and again - disappointing. Despite multiple recommendations, we cannot confirm this. We have lived in Weimar for years, but we have never eaten dumplings like this in any restaurant. The dumpling mixture was not loose and cooked through, there was a stone on the plate and the fried dumpling slices were mainly made up of leftover bread. The Mutzbraten was acceptable, the sliced ​​meat was unreasonable, the cream sauce was a tasteless mixture of water and cream, without any binding properties, only the broth was even more liquid. The staff, who were loudly annoyed, had our stay reduced to the shortest possible time. No recommendation is the best recommendation for staying there, and that on your 38th wedding anniversary.

On May 25, 2024, the service seemed to be completely overwhelmed, even though it wasn't full. Not recommended...unfortunately. The food was small in terms of portion size and not particularly crafted. You had to ask for drinks and then wait... empty glasses weren't cleared away.

It was simply wonderful and we had a lot of fun with our more than charming service. A really great enjoyment experience with relaxation and a great ambience. Personally highly recommended are the Shakashuka and the Arabic ice cream with the fluffy cotton candy that looks like freshly spun wool threads. Really good.

Seit vielen Jahrzehnten bin ich mit vielen Gästen zum Frühstück oder Café am Nachmittag sehr zufrieden und nett bedient worden . Heute muss ich über ein verdorbenes Rost brätel hier berichten ! Das trotz Reklamation in Rechnung gestellt wurde ! Schade das die Kellnerin nicht die Kompetenz besitzen , das zur Zufriedenheit der Gäste zu klären und ehrlich mit der Situation umgegangen wird . Vielleicht hilft das als Hinweis um zu verhindern das der nächste Gast an einer Vergiftung erkrankt oder sogar stirbt !
