Arno's Restaurant in Weimar

Everything was very tasty and the service was super friendly.

We were there with 12 people. I had the "Arno's Pork Schnitzel" (a German dish), which was okay for the price, but not great. Among the other dishes, fried eggs were forgotten in burgers, which were then served on individual plates; the portions were tiny. A dark beer was forgotten, and we had to remind the staff, and it still took another 10 minutes. We ordered a large still water for two people, but we received a small still, which we sent back, and then we were given a large sparkling one. I've noticed that critical reviews don't seem to stay visible for long here. It seems to me as if negative feedback is systematically disappearing. It's a shame, because that doesn't paint a fair picture.

During our visit to Weimar, we were drawn to Arno's display featuring roulades with dumplings and apple-flavored red cabbage. And the dish was truly delicious, as was the Sauerbraten (sauerbraten), or the tarte flambée and sweet potato soup the next day. Everything was delicious, accompanied by friendly service, and the price was reasonable. All in all, a definite recommendation. We'll be happy to return. Thanks for the friendly and attentive service.

Beginning to feel the slight chill of evening, we were pleased to sit inside where the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The tables were well positioned to allow our party of six to chat pleasantly without intrusion. The food was substantial and tasty- none of this „nouvelle cuisine“ type stuff. The service was excellent- all staff upbeat, patient and helpful. I can sincerely recommend this dining experience.

Food and drinks right next to the Goethe House and Goethe Fountain. I can only recommend the Thuringian bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, as well as the veal liver. Both were completely satisfactory. Service was attentive and prompt.

I came to have something for lunch. The salat with cheese was really good. And not expensive. They gave also tasty bread. The waiter and the owner were super friendly and professional. Really want to try something else here

Thank you for the lovely evening at Arnos. We didn't have fond memories of the restaurant from 10 years ago. But now, after a few years of new owners, a successful renovation, and a truly sophisticated menu, we have only good things to say, from the furnishings (super comfortable armchairs and chairs, right down to the color scheme, just right), from the service (friendly telephone reservations, pleasant reception, friendly & fast service) to the food (3 different dishes, all beautifully presented, freshly prepared, delicious, and despite the restaurant being busy, we waited less than 30 minutes for the food). Everything invites us to visit Arnos again. Perhaps they could delete the reviews from before the renovation; they no longer have anything to do with the current restaurant.

The risotto, veal liver, and Thuringian sausages were very good. The value for money was very good. The friendly, honest service was highly recommended.

The Kassler burger is really very delicate

The staff is nice, but it takes forever for the food or even the drinks to arrive, and the fries are rubbery, sometimes burnt, and the portions are small. I waited 30 minutes for a hot chocolate, and there weren't many people there. I wouldn't eat there again.

The food wasn't exactly the best. One of the waiters tried to steal from me. The meal cost €11, and I gave him €20. He only gave me €4 back, and that wasn't accidental. When I asked him about it, he just laughed but then gave it back to me.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, we had lunch at Arno's. The staff served our selected food and drinks very friendly and within a reasonable wait time. The atmosphere is pleasant, and we are very happy to be guests of the Kerner family.

I give this restaurant 4 stars because I found the staff particularly nice, everything went really quickly... The only catch here is that the food is only served in one direction, which means there is a lot of big and heavy food to eat and little for a quick meal...😕

I was in Weimar with my wife last Wednesday (September 25th, 2024) and also visited "Arno's" on Frauenplan at lunchtime. We enjoyed everything very much: in addition to the view of the Goethehaus, especially the friendly service and the excellent lunch; I've never eaten such tasty salmon noodles (with a really exquisite salmon steak!) before, chapeau!

A nicely decorated restaurant in a central location with friendly staff and reasonable prices. The meal was an experience for the eyes and the palate. Any intolerances were responded to without any fuss or extra charge! We were there three times in two days.

You can eat excellently here. The map isn't too big, but you can find what you want. Coffee and iced coffee are also recommended here. The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is completely fine. If the weather is good, you should sit outside as you can see a lot there.

Simply sensational. Traditional Thuringian cuisine freshly interpreted. The brawn - a poem. The fried potatoes are crispy and the tartar sauce is homemade. The roulade with dumplings - that's how it has to be. Unfortunately we are only in Weimar for one day, otherwise we would eat up and down the menu. Below average for us,...the worst veal liver I've ever eaten. My wife had sauerbraten, which wasn't what she normally has. Not recommended for us, but tastes are different.

Went to Weimar for a little holiday visit. Have eaten here twice. All the waitresses were very friendly, attentive, accommodating. The food was delicious, fresh, and the combinations were great. A visit is worth it!

There is hearty German cuisine here. We had roulades, which were unfortunately hard and for 23 euros. We got a cappuccino as compensation, which is better than nothing, but for the price that shouldn't happen. The food our companion served was okay (liver and sauerbraten). The friendliness of the service was moderate, and tips were taken for granted. The atmosphere is cozy and everything was clean. We would still come back again. There are much better restaurants with German cuisine in Weimar.

We ate there before a concert and absolutely loved it! Great food and friendly, accommodating staff who aren't above having fun. Next time we're in Weimar, we'll go again!

We had dinner there yesterday, July 15, 2024. I had the Kasslerburger, when I read the menu I thought it was a rare "composition". But I have to say, very pleasantly surprised, simply delicious!!! I didn't eat the mayo and ketchup with the fries. That would have spoiled the great taste. My wife had the beetroot risotto and loved it as much as I did. There is also friendly service staff there.

We were here twice and each time we were warmly welcomed and looked after. The atmosphere is very harmonious and cozy. The dishes were all very, very tasty. A reservation is definitely an advantage as the restaurant is busy.

Wir waren mit 9 Freunden dort zum Abendessen. Das Restaurant bietet traditionelle lokale Küche mit saisonalen Angeboten, wie Spargelvariationen. Speisen waren überwiegend frisch zubereitet. Überraschend war ,das es zwei Sorten Thüringer Klöse gab, die einen waren locker, geschmackvoll und mit Semmelkern, die anderen fester, heller und sehr homogen. Der Service war angemessen gut.

If you want to eat well and enjoy friendly service and experience a very nice ambience, this is the right place for you. This was our third time here and we were always very happy with the food and the service.

Great restaurant with live music on weekends

Auf der Suche nach leckerem Kuchen in Weimar wurden wir hier fündig. Wir hatten einen super leckeren Apfelstrudel mit Vanilleeis und Sahne. Wir hatten Glück und bekamen einen gemütlichen Platz am Fenster. Das nächste Mal werden wir zum Mittagessen kommen.
