An orgasm on my tongue. I've never eaten such good red cabbage in my life. The duck leg and dumplings were also exquisite. My friend's goulash melted in my mouth. Simply wow. Never eaten so well without a Michelin star.

Sitting outside in the beautiful garden, with attentive service and the food was also very good.

Unfortunately, our evening here was a complete disaster. We had to wait over 1½ hours for our food, which unfortunately was still raw and not edible. The vegetable pan was also a bit burnt. The dumplings weren't a hit either. Overall conclusion: What a shame.

We were there around midday in June 2025 (around 2:00 p.m.). It was relatively empty, probably because you can't see the lovely beer garden/outdoor seating from outside. The weather was very warm, and people headed straight for the visible outdoor seating. Later, however, more guests arrived. There are several vegetarian dishes on the menu. I had the sweet potato pancake, which is really very good. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend it.

A very nice restaurant with a quiet outdoor courtyard. The service is very attentive. In my opinion, the best spiced meat in Weimar. The portion is enough for a small meal. Reservations are recommended.

Dumplings with venison goulash and red cabbage, just what you'd want when visiting Thuringia. The restaurant is very centrally located and comfortably furnished. We felt very comfortable.

La calidad del servicio estaba bien, el tiempo de espera bien, la ubicación y el ambiente atractivo, PERO la comida era una GRAN DECEPCIÓN. Comí albóndigas Turingias con col roja. El sabor de las albóndigas era terriblemente malo, sabía como descongelado listo para comer alimentos. Pagué 21, 50 euros por esta comida y me sentí engañado.

We had dinner in the restaurant's courtyard. We had Thuringian bratwurst and Ottoman pan-fried gravy. Everything was delicious and the portions were plentiful. The service was friendly and quick. We'd love to come back!

The two of us visited this restaurant on March 22nd and 23rd, 2025. The staff is very friendly, the food was very tasty, the prices are reasonable. Since we weren't missing anything, we came again the next evening. The restaurant has very interesting huge pictures on the walls. It's worth taking a look at these. It is also interesting that there is a small theater down in the basement, which seems to be run very successfully.

Oh, thank you very much. After our truly unlucky experience at the other restaurant the night before, we were craving some home-style cooking. Here they serve cabbage rolls, goulash, and dumplings, and I've never had such a good side salad as an alternative to potatoes (others could take a leaf out of their book). Highly recommend the cranberry pudding as an aperitif. It was a bit chilly, but it's definitely pleasant in the summer. We were all full and happy, thank you very much.

Nicely decorated restaurant with various surreal works of art. Waitress was quite impatient. My Röstbratel was not very bad, but certainly nothing to write home about. There were way too many burnt pieces of potato in my Bratkartoffeln. Far too few vegetables with my main course.

Vorgestern abend sind wir in Weimar in die Stadt gegangen und haben dort sehr gut gegessen. Regionale Gerichte und angemessene Preise und nach langer Zeit mal wieder ein Köstritzer Schwarzbier. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wieder würden wiederkommen. Vom Galli Theater haben wir nichts mitbekommen.

Centrally located on a small side street. Tastefully decorated inside with a beautiful beer garden in the courtyard and a small theater in the basement. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty, there is a selection of regional and national specialties. The Thuringian Rostbrätel was very tender and with the fried potatoes it was a filling portion. All in all, I would like to come back and can recommend the restaurant.

The restaurant has a quiet outdoor area (guest garden). The menu was super good and the offering was very extensive. The dishes we ordered - Thuringian specialties - were delicious and very tasty. The service staff was super friendly!

Really great experience! Were here with our 2.5 year old son. In addition to the really strong cuisine, the staff is super friendly. I've never eaten so relaxed before because my son had a lot of places to paint and play here. I had an incredibly delicious goulash. Will 100% come back.

When our Grimma group goes on tour for a long weekend a year, there is always a reason to celebrate. This time it was a birthday party We shortlisted 4 restaurants, but in the end we chose Shakespeare. We did nothing wrong with this choice. The ambience, the courteous service staff and waiters would have already received 4.5 stars. Since this is not intended for our reviews, food and drinks have to get the missing star And how they did it! We had ordered typical Thuringian dishes such as the Rostbratwurst with a side dish of mashed potatoes or a Rostbraten with lots of onions. There was also a sauerbraten with dumplings The other three dishes we selected were great, so our birthday child wanted to give an appropriate tip, which was so high that our waiter gave a note back. I rarely experienced that, actually not at all. At the end of the day we watched the final together in London This was the only negative message that day. But we'll come back to everyone, I'm currently working on the plan for 2025

You can't stop eating Thuringian brattel

Restaurant located a little away from the market square that invites you to linger... Good value for money... Very friendly and attentive staff... We were allowed to come with our dog... It was a nice evening... We'd be happy to come again...

Beautifully designed, tasteful, invites you to linger. My dish Rostbrädel was perfectly fried. I would have been happy if the waitress had been more attentive and asked again what was going on. Because I would have needed mustard and pepper. But I'd love to come back and test it again. Very nice location.

The tagliatelle in the orange and fennel stock with the chicken liver was a real, delicious surprise

The ambience is super nice and attention to detail is very important. The food is really good and I would give it more stars if I could. I've never eaten so well outside (I can only highly recommend the sauerbraten with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings) and the dessert and cocktails are also great. Food came very quickly, service was super friendly and both men were very attentive even though it was full both times. I would go there again at any time. It would be my favorite bar if I lived nearby. Price performance is really top.

We spontaneously looked for something to eat in the city and “Shakespeares” was recommended to us! When we got there we were greeted warmly and had a great table by the window! Food was great and inexpensive, extremely friendly service that is second to none, food top, fresh and homemade dumplings, a dream! Even if it's a bit hidden in Weimar, but it's worth it, I'll be back!!! See you next time!!!

You know, I really love to eat delicious food. This place was highly recommended to me. However, the meat in the dish was raw and the vegetables were not of the best quality. But the service is good enough.

Ein wunderschönes Lokal mit guter Speisekarte.

Die Speiskarte sah sehr gut aus. Ich wollte heute meine sehr schönen Impressionen vom Bummel in der Altstadt zu Weimar bei einem landestypischen Essen wirken lassen. Die Gerichte auf der Speisekarte waren dazu sehr verlockend. Thüringer Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelstapf. Bei der Bratwurst konnte man ja nichts verkehrt machen, die kam sicherlich von einem ansässigen Fleischbetrieb. Das dachte man sich wahrscheinlich auch in der Küche beim Sauerkraut, denn dieses wurde ohne Gewürze aus dem Glas warmgemacht und so serviert. Ich habe noch nie so schlechtes Sauerkraut gegessen, wie in diesem Restaurant. Der Hinweis wurde vom Kellner mit der Bemerkung, jedoch ohne ein Wort des Bedauerns, er werde es an die Küche weitergeben, runtergespielt. Dieses Lokal sollte man in der gegenwärtigen Qualität nach meinem Empfinden möglichst meiden. Es gibt in Weimar sicherlich noch bessere Restaurants.

Gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung, Preise einer "Touristenstadt" angepasst. Würde gerne mal Abends eine Kabarett Vorstellung besuchen und anschließend noch einen Drink nehmen, bestimmt sehr nett. Fazit: würde ich wieder hingehen!

Essen war gut aber nicht besonders. Dafür war es preislich recht intensiv. Getränkeauswahl groß und vergleichsweise günstig

Trotz unserer Reservierung hatten wir am Abend die Wahl der Plätze. Der Tisch war gesucht und das Licht im verschneiten Außenbereich wurde eingeschalten - sah schön aus. Unsere Bestellungen waren schnell da, das Essen interessant in der Zusammenstellung (Pasta/ Leber/ Fenchel) und durchaus schmackhaft. Wir hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt und können das Restaurant empfehlen!

Nach einer musikalischen Lesung mit Max Prosa sind wir hier zum Mittagessen eingekehrt. Man merkt sofort, dass die Mitarbeiter mit Herzblut bei der Sache sind. Ein tolles Ambiente und jedes Essen für sich wieder eine Wucht. Ich empfehle die "Osmanische Pfanne" Ein Hauch Orient ist dabei zu verspüren. Das Lokal ist eine echte Empfehlung.
