The staff is incredibly unfriendly. I stood in front of the obese gentleman who took the order - was supposed to take it - and he looked past me and didn't say a word. When I said, irritated but very friendly, “Hello, I would like a bratwurst in a bun,” he remained silent. I was very surprised and waited for a reaction. After 2 minutes he passed my order on to a colleague in a derogatory tone and spoke to me for the first and last time: “€4.50”. I was really stunned. The sausage was old, dry and rubbery. I come from a tourist town where such a lease would have been terminated by the city long ago. Of course it is primarily the fault of the staff, but also that of the tenant and also that of the city! Change or close is the motto.

Once and never again. I can only agree with all previous posts. Friendliness is a foreign word. At least fries were hot and fresh. 33 euros for a hefeweizen (€5.50), one currywurst/fries, one chicken nuggets with fries and one Viennese-style turkey schnitzel with fries. Schnitzel is a finished industrial product. Please go somewhere else!

Good food but the waitress at the counter was impossible, unfriendly, arrogant, lucky he didn't throw the food and drinks on the tray.

Simple snack, but everything fits. Friendly staff, clean tables outside, went quickly after ordering. Pretzels were very fresh, really great. Fries well seasoned and quite warm. Prices acceptable for the location right next to the castle.

We were here for a small stop. The fries were definitely good. Can’t say about the service because we waited for the fries and took it to our table. The outside sitting place is good and it is nice place to sit and chill for a while during a warm summer day.

Real tourist place. Not suitable for vegans. When asked whether the fries were vegan or what fat was used, the answer was “no idea, pff”. No effort was made to ask the chef. Otherwise there are pretzels and a pasta dish for vegans. Pretzel fart dry… No milk alternatives. Classic snack at sights. Expensive, simple, rudimentary card. A pity.

Nice place to stop and recharge in winter. Changed babies nappy there.

It's unbelievable that the authorities don't close things like this. No table was clean, there was rubbish everywhere. The display of food was disgusting. The expresso in the cup [although drunk on site] didn't taste like anything. The staff was completely rude, the clothes were dirty. A shame for Heidelberg

Rude, aggressive, racist staff. Especially the vile, overweight guy with the bad attitude in charge. Tried his very best at intimidating any female ordering anything. It's a disgrace really in this day and age and in a country like Germany that he's allowed to get away with it especially at a major tourist site.

I'm there right now, ordered currywurst with fries, first of all the waiting time is too long, then the housekeeping isn't done properly because the fries were constantly empty. The sausage tastes really bad, the sauce was ok and fries are fine. Prices are definitely too expensive, a 0.5 liter Pepsi costs 4.15 euros + 0.25 deposit, the currywurst with fries costs 8.90 euros. For this very poor quality of sausage, 8.90 is far too expensive! Not recommended, prefer to eat something down in town.

Forever a long wait. No wonder with around 100 people in front of the door and 2 staff members...unreasonable for a snack with ice cream and drinks on warm summer days.

Loveless. The service took forever. Some of the hot drinks were served in real cups and some in paper cups. Cake served in paper plate. When you sit inside you at least expect real dishes... Cups weren't filled either. Disappointing.

The overweight man is so unfriendly and disgusting. Avoid this cafe! Further down in the wine cellar there is also coffee etc.

I must have had a pretty good day if I read the other reviews regarding service. For me it happened very quickly; it even went hand in hand between the service staff. Friendliness, well, was still relatively good. I ordered currywurst with fries and found €7.20 to be borderline outrageous. The fries (kept warm) were still tasty, the curry sauce was pleasantly spicy but unfortunately lukewarm. And the sausage... Well... The sausage, or rather sausages, because I had a mixture of different sausages, were already cut in the curry sauce and were lukewarm and not a highlight in terms of taste. I would also have expected a little more sausage for this price. All in all, I would say that there wasn't even a whole sausage in my bowl.

Just like you imagine a snack bar. Sausage roll was good. Also have meatloaf. And the spicy sausage is really spicy

They were already fried and were just put in the bag for the next one, next to warmed, already baked bratwurst. Poor. Disgusting! The manager of the store is an unfriendly, disgusting person. Once never again. We only had expensive coffee.

Good and quick food. Service is very friendly and speaks sufficient english. Have a large sortiment of drinks and food as well as a ice cream, scooped by some friendly young guy
