Leute ihr müsst hier essen gehen! Ich liebe alles an diesem Laden, das gute Essen, den netten Service und das urige Ambiente! Hier bekommt ihr gute Laune und Essen bis zum Umfallen. Ich komme wieder gerne hier her. Es gibt sowohl oben als auch unten ein Bereich zum Sitzen.

Super tolles Restaurant. Sehr leckeres Essen. Man wartet etwas, dafür kommt eine Geschmacksexplosion. Auch der Äthiopien Kaffee ist zu empfehlen

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend vielen Dank! Hervorragendes Essen in sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre - wir waren schon länger nicht mehr afrikanisch/äthiopisch essen gewesen und es war wirklich ein sehr schönes und interessantes Erlebnis - wir können es sehr empfehlen!

Wir sind über den Schlemmerblock auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Service super freundlich und aufmerksam. Ambiente sehr passend und toll eingerichtet. Essen wunderbar. Wir hatten das Tatar und das Hackfleisch in Pfeffersoße. Beides sehr zu empfehlen! Auch die Brownies als Nachtisch waren sehr gut. Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder. ☺️ Danke!

Wir hatten für drei Personen Gericht Nr. 26. Das Essen war fantastisch. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die Hintergrundmusik und die Atmosphäre angenehm. Wir probierten den Rotwein, die Rindfleischpasteten und die Tomatensuppe – alles hervorragend.

erstes mal äthiopisch gegessen und sehr begeistert. der nette herr der uns bedient hat liebt seinen job und seine kunden. hochwertiges essen, sehr zartes fleisch und für jeden geschmack etwas da. 10/10! ❤️

Leckeres afrikanisches Essen in einem schönem Ambiente.

Nie selbst im Laden gewesen, aber vielmals bestellt. Es ist einfach super lecker, toll gewürzt, eine super Abwechslung zu Burger, Asiatisch, Italienisch und Döner. Eine Bereicherung für Bockenheim wenns ums kulinarische geht

Von Außen etwas unscheinbar, verbirgt sich im Kellergeschoss eine sehr schöne Räumlichkeit. Das Essen war hervorragend, lediglich die Wartezeit war bei uns etwas länger, aber noch vollkommen erträglich.

Ich war zum ersten Mal in einem äthiopischen Restaurant und wurde richtig positiv überrascht. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker und das Fleisch hat sehr hochwertig geschmeckt. Ich hatte die Nummer 20 (auf dem Foto zu sehen) und war total begeistert. Auch meine Begleitung war sehr zufrieden. Aufmerksam geworden sind wir durch den Schlemmerblock und wir werden definitiv wiederkommen! Die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr freundlich, ganz im Gegensatz zu einigen der Kommentare, die ich vorher gelesen hatte. Umso überraschter war ich über die vielen negativen Bewertungen zum Service, denn unsere Erfahrung war durchweg positiv. Klare Empfehlung! ✔️

Fantastisches äthiopisches Essen in entspannter Atmosphäre. Ich habe die 26. Probeplatte probiert und jedes Gericht war perfekt zubereitet. Der Eingang ist nicht in der Leipzigerstraße, sondern in der Seitenstraße.

Es war wirklich sehr lecker, und da ich zum ersten Mal dort war, kann ich es nur empfehlen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, und uns gefielen die Dekoration und die Atmosphäre sehr. Wenn Sie gutes afrikanisches Essen mit fantastischem Geschmack zu einem vernünftigen Preis suchen, sollten Sie das Restaurant Erta Ale besuchen.

I swear it,the food is really outstanding! Every meal i had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this Restaurant. Their customer service is second to none.The product quality is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time. The two of us ate there last summer. We found the restaurant by chance, as it's really small and unassuming from the outside. Inside, it's simply beautifully decorated, with a very pleasant atmosphere, super friendly service, and delicious food. We're already planning our next visit in the next few days. :)

We got there via the gourmet block, it took a little long for the food to arrive, but it was tasty and the service was super nice.

Like so many people, we became aware of a gourmet block (B*my 2024/2025) and have been regular guests here ever since. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service helps maintain this atmosphere. You can ask questions about food and drinks and get them answered competently. The selection of dishes is completely sufficient for me and offers a great cross-section of beef or chicken, vegetables and purely vegan dishes. Particularly recommended are Kitfo (quasi tartare), Ye Doro Wot (chicken legs with boiled egg) and Michet Abesh (minced meat in sauce). The size of the portions invites you to share and you can easily order three main dishes for two and share them nicely. In my opinion, Ethiopian coffee can be ordered heavily sweetened. Be sure to go there several times and try a lot.

Basic food, I cannot speacially recommend it cause we couldn’t find any highlights. The deco and interior are very authentic. Fair prices (alcohol drinks are very cheap) but poor service, the waitress couldn’t communicate clearly or neither explain the menu/dishes.

Four of us went to Erta Ale for the first time and had a very enjoyable evening in this tastefully decorated restaurant. I found the mixed vegetarian platter (EUR 30 for two people) particularly tasty, as did the dumplings with lentil filling. Price/performance and also the nice, male service (boss?) were top. Therefore 100% recommendation.

The food is delicious but the waiting time is indescribable. 7:30 p.m. It wasn't until 10:30 p.m. that the food was served to us. I understand that good food takes time, but I know these dishes, you could also prepare and prepare these dishes beforehand and it would taste the same. Zero coordinated. Not good service. Most people leave because they had to wait too long. Even if the food is good, I would recommend other restaurants that offer the same dishes.

It was our first time at Erta Ale and we were very impressed. The food was well seasoned and very tasty. Service: We were greeted and served in a very friendly manner. The owner really enjoys his shop and entertaining customers, and it shows. Food and drinks were quickly at the table. Ambiance: We sat in the basement and loved the ambience. There are little highlights everywhere like figures, murals or plants that are supposed to remind you of Africa, which works quite well. Everything was clean and tidy. Price: I would rate the price-performance ratio as good. The dishes are reasonably priced for the taste and quantity on offer. The drink prices are a hit, i.e. significantly cheaper than other restaurants in the area. The well-seasoned food means you also have to drink something well. I think it's very fair for the owner here, in contrast to some other restaurants, not to make money through extremely high drink prices. We liked it so much that we treated ourselves to cocktails after dinner. Thanks to Erta Ale for the good food in a great atmosphere at fair prices. We will definitely come back.

Super delicious African food. There were two of us here and we had the mixed platter of Erta ale, where there was more than enough of everything on our plates, various delicious and sometimes spicy meat and vegetable dishes, which we ate traditionally with the help of our fingers and a kind of flatbread. Of course there was also cutlery . We were absolutely full and the traditional Ethiopian coffee at the end was simply the highlight. There is also a delicious spicy Ethiopian beer. Super nice service and nice African-inspired ambience. 😃👍

Five of us were there on Friday evening. We had starters, main courses and desserts, everything was very attractively presented and tasted very good. Nobody had anything to complain about. Both the cold drinks, the cocktails and the wine were very tasty. The waiter was very friendly and gave us good advice and often had to laugh along because we were a very funny group. The restaurant is very cozy and furnished with lovingly selected decorative elements, so you will enjoy spending your time there. We will definitely come back.

Offers interesting choices of dishes, almost all based on the same principle. It is prepared in the way you could only hope for from an African restaurant, the taste was good too, only a small aftertaste was noticeable. The owner is chatty with his customers and very pleasant.

It's a delicious restaurant, quiet and nice deco. The food is amazing, have a vegetarian dishes. I was being alone and sometimes the people don't give me all the attention like others clients, i felt a little ignore to order.

Unfortunately, the taste of the sample platter for 2 people did not meet my expectations. I've visited a lot of Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurants in Frankfurt, but unfortunately this was the worst so far. I don't know if it was because we ate there with a voucher book (two dishes for half price), but the dishes all tasted warmed up and the meat in particular was tough and seemed a bit old.

Einfach nur lecker. Atmoshpärisches Restaurant im Keller mit leckerem Essen und netter Bedienung. Das Kaffee im Erdgeschoss mag leer und geschlossen sein aber das Restaurant im Keller ist auf. Nur zu empfehlen. Can only recommend. Tasty food and a lovely athmosphere. Just walk through the empty cafe on the street level and head on down to the basement restaurant. You wont regret it.

Ich war gestern ca. das 4. Mal dort. Eigentlich war ich bisher immer sehr begeistert. Am Essen gibt es absolut nichts auszusetzen. Es ist wirklich sehr lecker.Das Problem war gestern, dass eine Hochzeit gefeiert wurde und wir waren mitten drin. Das geht einfach gar nicht. Es war unfassbar laut. Wieso macht man das nicht über geschlossene Gesellschaft? Wir haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Es war einfach zu viel zu tun für die Mitarbeiter. Sehr enttäuschend der Abend. Ich wollte mir eigentlich noch etwas mit nach Hause nehmen, aber hatte Angst wieder so lange warten zu müssen. Leider werde ich nicht mehr wieder kommen. Das Kartenlesegerät funktioniert auch nie. Sehr schade, denn es ist ein sehr gemütliches schönes Restaurant und auch das Essen ist super.

We called last minute during the Eurobike, we show up with 35 people in total and they cooked dinner for us, everything was yummy yummy, and the ladies were just amazing ! If you are hesitating to go to that restaurant, don’t waste your time, just go !

Von Anfang bis Ende wurde ich von der Exzellenz des Service, der Qualität der Gerichte und der Gesamtatmosphäre des Restaurants beeindruckt. Das Ambiente des Erta Ale ist Traditionelle und dennoch einladend, mit einer warmen Beleuchtung und einer raffinierten Inneneinrichtung. Die Tische waren schön gedeckt, und die Mitarbeiter empfingen mich mit einem herzlichen Lächeln und einer außergewöhnlichen Gastfreundschaft. Das Menü im Erta Ale bietet eine breite Palette an Köstlichkeiten aus der Äthiopischen und Eritreanische Küche . Die Auswahl ist reichhaltig und jedes Gericht wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Die Präsentation der Speisen war beeindruckend und ließ schon beim ersten Anblick das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen. Ich entschied mich für das Rindfleisch. Das Fleisch war zart, saftig und perfekt gegart. Die Aromen waren unglaublich ausgewogen und jeder Bissen war ein wahres Geschmackserlebnis. Der Service im Erta Ale war außergewöhnlich. Das Personal war aufmerksam, freundlich und äußerst kenntnisreich. Sie waren stets bereit, Empfehlungen zu geben und sich um meine Wünsche zu kümmern. Der Kellner sorgte dafür, dass mein Glas stets gefüllt war und dass ich mich rundum wohl fühlte. Abschließend möchte ich sagen, dass das Erta Ale ein außergewöhnliches Restaurant ist, das jeden Besuch wert ist. Das kulinarische Erlebnis, das ich dort hatte, war unvergesslich. Wenn Sie auf der Suche nach einer Afrikanische Küche , aber dennoch gemütlichen Atmosphäre sind und Wert auf exzellentes Essen und erstklassigen Service legen, dann sollten Sie definitiv das Erta Ale besuchen. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wieder dorthin zurückzukehren!
