Samoa Restaurant Timmendorf in Timmendorfer Strand

We were there with three people and reserved a table for 8 p.m. When we arrived there was no table available. We were seated at the bar and because we had to wait a little longer, we were given a Prosecco - which we thought was very nice. Once at the table we placed our orders. Among other things, two sushi rolls with the request that they be given without cucumbers. One came without cucumber, the other with cucumber. We complained about one roll and the waiter said he would replace it, it would take about 5-10 minutes (the mood in his face clearly visible). It took longer. My husband and I had meanwhile finished eating when our daughter received her sushi roll. My husband ordered another roll (without cucumber) for himself and our daughter to share. (When we placed our order, we asked if we could reorder Suhsi as needed - of course, no problem! - the waiter said (that's 8:30 p.m.)). The sushi roll was served, but again with (!) cucumber. We complained about the role again. Then they said that the roll would be taken off the bill, but there would be nothing left to eat. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m.! We then wished the kitchen a nice evening, ordered the bill, drank our bottle of wine and left the restaurant, partly hungry, and we refused the hot drink as compensation. We have never experienced anything like this before! If reservations are accepted at 8pm, I think the kitchen should be open later. By the way, our table next door received their food shortly after the waiter said that the kitchen was closed. When serving at the neighboring table, the waiter placed the empty water bottles, dip bowls, etc. from the neighboring table on our table, in front of our daughter's seat. Not so nice when the table is used as a storage area.

Our first time in Samoa. Very friendly service, attentive and very pleasant. The food was prepared table by table with fresh ingredients, even with a direct view of the kitchen. Great, clean work. A little more expensive, but still totally worth it. We leave here today with very good impressions and will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended. A varied menu that creates very tasty food with committed and experimental people. Big praise and see you soon...

A stay in Timmendorf and the inspection of the new pier whetted our appetite for more. Since my wife and I already knew Samoa on Fehmarn, we wanted to convince ourselves of the Timmendorfer version. The Samoa Timmendorf completely convinced us. The beautiful building with a very attractive exterior and interior invites you to linger. We were warmly welcomed by a service employee. The seating is very comfortable. The interior is modern and warm/comfortable. We ordered a 200g beef fillet with fried potatoes, sauce and green asparagus. Also ox cheeks with sauce and roots on mashed potatoes. The food was prepared absolutely perfectly. The ox cheeks melted in the mouth and the fillet was exactly as desired. Overall, both dishes were very attractively prepared. The size of both portions were just right for us. Full of enjoyment. A big compliment to the chefs who know their craft and to the lovely service staff. The stay was really nice and we will 100% come back. I would happily recommend this restaurant. It is one of the best addresses in Timmendorf because the quality and quantity are right. Thank you very much and see you soon. Christian and Michaela

We were totally thrilled, the young service was extremely friendly and unobtrusively attentive. The kitchen was completely convincing. Price/performance more than reasonable. We have reserved again and are already looking forward to it. Keep it up. Absolute recommendation and an asset to Timmendorfer Strand.

Food is of poor quality. I had a chicken teriyaki bowl, the salad was wilted, the pineapple and avocado were already brown and overripe. My husband had the plaice. This was extremely greasy. The service was ok. Others who came after us got their food before us. We would not visit this restaurant again and certainly not recommend it. The good reviews are incomprehensible to us.

We had dinner there on Friday, 3 adults and 2 small children. So we had a little bit of everything from the menu and I have to say that the food was really good. The service was very, very good, rarely experienced anything like that. We'll be back ! :-)

Great restaurant. Highly priced but worth the price. Nice, uncomplicated but attentive service. Wines were offered to try, the dog was allowed to lie under the table and was treated kindly, even if he nagged briefly or sat in the way in a somewhat awkward manner. Goat cheese starter, sushi and duck, everything was well prepared and very attractively presented. Drinks at the perfect temperature.

Since the Sea Lord was converted into a Samoa, we always wanted to stop by. Now we regret that this only happened today. We both had the duck breast and a dessert and are just thrilled. We eat out regularly but have never eaten such good duck outside. The food was fantastic and the staff were attentive and service-oriented. The prices are high, but absolutely justified for this quality and the exceptional taste. We reserved another table straight away and will certainly be regular guests now.

The fish we ordered did not meet expectations. The second dish was poorly seasoned. No recommendation from us.

Although sushi is offered on the menu, you cannot order it at lunchtime. The veal liver specified in the menu is not available on Mondays. The wine ordered will only be served after warning. The espresso ordered after the admittedly decent bowl doesn't come at all. Conclusion: Disappointed couple leaves the restaurant.

Ambience very modern and chic and beautifully located, with a large outdoor area. Service attentive, quick and quite friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't entirely convincing: the portions were a bit small (for lunch), fish dishes were okay, but the children's burger was unfortunately not recommended according to several opinions. It can happen, but you can still eat well there and there is still a recommendation.

What can I say? Best sushi I've ever eaten! The waitresses were super friendly, the blonde lady on site was also super friendly and all in all it was a success. Less than full marks wouldn't be fair. Even in the 10-point segment you would be full to the roof! Would thoroughly recommend it to any sushi fan. But there are also other dishes without fish for non-fish fans.

The tuna fillet was cooked perfectly as requested and the surf and turf roll was delicious. The chocolate cake was nice and runny and one of the best I've ever tasted. We were in Samoa for the first time today. I definitely had one of the best fried plaice in the Finkenwerder style. Really great, not dry and great in taste. My wife's salmon was also very good, but could use a little more seasoning. The Prosecco was delicious, but could have been a little colder. A little bread and butter beforehand wouldn't hurt. Otherwise everything and great food in a very pleasant atmosphere. We'll be back. Achim

The worst Bouillabaisse Marseille I have ever tasted. For over 30 EUR a shrimp, three mussels and a few scraps of fish. I've gotten better than that. Not recommended

Good food in a beautiful location.

We ate in Samoa twice during our 5-day vacation. Whether sushi, tuna steak or beef fillet - everything tasted delicious. Very fresh, great quality and beautiful compositions. One can only recommend Mousse au Chocolate as dessert and the top service rounds off the visit with North German tongue and charm. We would like to come again :-)

We have been enjoying the wonderful ambience of Timmendorfer Strand for a week, and yesterday we were guests at Samoa for the third time. What a highlight, starting with the wide-ranging menu, the delicious dishes, the friendly and highly motivated team (although our colleague DERYA really needs to be mentioned here, who “spoiled” us so perfectly on two evenings). 4 stars for the ambience only because it was raining a bit last night and the “connections/gutters” between the umbrellas didn’t protect against regular showers (there are definitely more optimal solutions here). Again 5 stars for the colleague from yesterday (unfortunately I don't know the name), who came outside regularly, took the orders with her charm, and in between served guests a schnapps "in the rain" as a friendly gesture. Here you feel WELCOME as a guest

The restaurant is very very good, the food looks very good and the service is perfect. You need something like that in Berlin, unfortunately it's difficult to find good quality in Berlin and this restaurant is amazing

Great food, very nice service and perfect ambience

Restaurant Samoa is still quite new, and something else from all the usual Timmendorfer Strand restaurants was desperately needed. The interior design is modern, stylish and quite luxurious. It's clear there is a lot of effort and money put in. We had dinner at the end of a busy warm Saturday. We made reservations through the internet, but unfortunately our wishes for a table in the shade were not completely respected. Service however was fast and friendly (although a cheap body warmer at 31 Celcius! and worn-off sneakers for one member were really a no-go). Starters (tempura shrimp and shrimps in a garlic sauce) were good, but not excellent. The bread was missing some crunchyness and the mayonnaise could have been the typical Japanese mayo. The main dish was baked plaice fisch and bouillabaisse. The portion sizes were good, but the taste was a bit flat. Although highly recommended, the bouillabaisse was a long way from the classical French speciality. The accompanying bread should have been toast, Parmesan cheese was missing, and the soup was mainly consisting of chopped vegetables, not at all like the thick bound soup we know from the French cuisine. Dessert was the best part: chocolate cake with a nice soft filling, ice and berries. With some glasses of wine and two espressos we landed a bill just under €200, which is clearly too expensive for the value offered. There is certainly upward potential, and something innovative in Timmendorfer Strand is more than welcome, but Samoa needs to do a bit better.

The design looks fresh and new (the Samoa has only existed since this year :) ) A bit very gray but that's a matter of taste. The chairs are very comfortable. In general, you can tell that someone has put a lot of thought into how to stand out from the other, sometimes somewhat dusty, restaurants. The staff was attentive, quick and friendly. Sushi in advance at the highest level. My girlfriend had plaice as the main course and I had real veal schnitzel. Both are not exactly cheap, but they are fresh, very tasty and of good quality. Drinks are also slightly cheaper than in the surrounding bars. All in all it was a nice visit.

The food was delicious. The shrimp soup was great, the crispy shrimp roll was so good and the fish was flavorful. Derya was really helpful and recommended the best dishes for us! We enjoyed every dish from appetizers to dessert.

You walk in and are greeted by very friendly staff. So we felt valued straight away. The furnishings look harmonious and incredibly comfortable. The bench invites you to linger. If you want, you can look behind the bar, straight into the kitchen and see how the food is being prepared. Cleanliness of toilets and restaurant is excellent. The chicken fricassee was bombastically good, as was the baked potato with salmon and salad. Please keep it up here!! All the best to you!

The sea bream was very well prepared, fried crispy and the vegetables that went with it were also very tasty. A piece of lemon would have gone well with the fish. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated. The service was also good.

We discovered SAMOA by chance during a weekend trip and were immediately impressed, so we went there on two of the three evenings. The service is perfect - attentive, pleasantly Nordic, calm, authentic - every wish is met. The food was to die for!! Very creative cuisine, versatile, ingredients of the best quality, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is fresh, modern, very high quality and not off the shelf, but at the same time super cozy. Both evenings were perfect and we are already looking forward to the next time!

The food was excellent, I ate the spicy crispy tempura and it’s one of the best sushi’s I’ve had!! But not only the sushi was amazing but the seafood and pasta was definitely worth a visit. But it doesn’t end there, the service was welcoming, genuinene and super nice. The atmosphere was very nice too. If you are somewhere near, the restaurant Samoa is definitely worth a shot!!

After a total renovation, a harmonious, elegant interior ambience was created. A glazed kitchen area with the active creative chefs can be seen from several tables. The very large outdoor area is also newly equipped. We were thrilled about this because we also enjoyed visiting the previous restaurant. The menu is extremely varied (including sushi, schnitzel and pasta) and every guest is sure to find something to their taste. My baked potato with salmon, herb quark and salad was very well portioned. Super fresh mixed salad with the best dressing in a long time!! A very friendly, attentive service is particularly worth mentioning.

Misleading menu. On Sunday lunchtime, a lunch menu with sushi was brought to our table at a 30% discount, which we also ordered from. However, we were then asked to pay the regular price, pointing out that the lunch menu was not valid on weekends. Why we were given this lunch menu to order in the first place can be described as misleading. When asked about it, it didn't make me think. In order not to be misunderstood: the food was good and we had also given a decent tip beforehand. But we find such handling worthy of a WARNING. Therefore only one star!

Good restaurant, large menu, relatively expensive, lots of fish, but also vegetarian options which are okay, but would recommend it more for people who eat fish and meat.

We would eat at Samoa and can only recommend that everyone who is here in Timmendorf go out to eat. I had the pasta with salmon and never had such a taste explosion. Thanks to the lovely, friendly staff! We'll be back tonight!😋👍
