Just awesome, I would like to start by saying! The location, a cool stilt house, the interior design is stylish and yet comfortable. The food was super tasty and really high quality. We had the sea bass and the steak, with oysters as a starter. Above all, however, the service shined. In SPO we have never been able to experience such know-how about the food, the drinks and the necessary sensitivity. We had a great evening.

Beautiful location with a great sunset. Espresso Martini was outstanding. Menu is small, but our fish dishes were excellent (salmon & sea bass). The dessert was one of the best on this trip! Unfortunately, I wish the corner where we sat had been a little cleaner. And then in the evening the snails came! Either go in after sunset and go home, otherwise you might get eaten.

We just wanted to take a break. Service is good and the location and view are awesome. Pure SPO feeling.

Cozy stilt house with a beautiful terrace. Unfortunately, dog owners have to leave at 5:00 p.m. So there is no dinner for us. What a shame!

Dear “Salt & Silver” team, Due to Mr. Gorr's review and Mr. Kosikowski's answer, I would now like to leave a few lines of my own. The fact that guests are called “on the first name”...a gift. It's typically Nordic. Some people like it, but it's also important to accept that there are guests who don't like it - especially if you advertise exclusivity and want to attract wealthy clientele. And this is where the clear discrepancy lies for me. Anyone who promotes exclusivity and offers similar prices should also shine with exclusive service and exclusive food. Unfortunately, in the experience I had the evening before last, I couldn't detect such exclusivity. The food was good, but also "nothing special" (even if you want to give it that impression with the description on the menu and chichi in the presentation). Poorly washed and “worn” plates are more of a nuisance. In summary it can be said that the location is good and the food and service were fine. However, what is supposed to justify the prices quoted is not really clear to me. The price/performance ratio is maximally sufficient. In SPO you can definitely find better food at cheaper (generally still overpriced) prices. The view is also not a unique selling point for Salt & Silver. However, I find the owners' reactions to appropriate criticism much more "worrying". The “shared experience” is often described. Dear team, I have every respect for service staff in restaurants and they should be treated with the same respect. However, you should perhaps not forget that the guest pays (expensively) for this "shared experience" and that the focus should not be on ensuring that you are satisfied with your guests - that is a very distorted self-image. The other way around, it turns out to be more of a shoe!

We wanted to eat at Salt & Silber today. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to come with our great dog. Dogs only welcome until 5 p.m. So for us, definitely not at any time. Our Tibetan Terrier can behave at any time.

It's just my opinion. I was at Salt&Silver in St. Pauli and I was thrilled. Unfortunately, the Salt&Silver in Sankt Peter Ording couldn't keep up because of the location, a wooden barracks on the beach doesn't fit with a gourmet restaurant. Of course, the guests come dressed very casually and the atmosphere invites you to drink a beer with a few appetizers, tapas, for example, would go very well, a glass of wine, a gin and tonic at sunset, etc. but this atmosphere with gourmet cuisine doesn't go together at all. I made the trip to Sankt Peter Ording just because of the food and in the end me and my wife were dissatisfied. Of course I will go to Sankt Pauli again but never to Sankt Peter Ording again.

Very friendly and attentive service in a top location. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, but due to the location and the price there is a slightly cooler, chic clientele. We were there at lunchtime and had the Cataplana, which was very good and highly recommended. The oysters were also very good. It's a shame that dogs are only welcome until 5 p.m., so unfortunately we don't get to enjoy the even more varied and interesting evening menu.

The cook has such a long uncovered beard that we didn't eat anything. As with Corona, the table is assigned. Otherwise nice and friendly. It's better to reserve a table outside.

Very nice setting, however we had to recommend plates of fries to complete the dish because they were much too small. However, I am not a big eater. The table next to us did the same. I would say ideal for coffee and cake, or a drink with the lovely view but not for eating.

Really bad shop. We made reservations and walked kilometers but after 5 p.m. no dogs were allowed. Reason: dogs don't bark at each other before 5 p.m. and dogs bark at each other after 5 p.m. 😂I missed the “apparently” on the website. In all other countries, dogs are welcome - in Germany only until 5 p.m

Salt & Silver is located near the Böhl bathing area, there is indoor and outdoor area, fantastic location invites you to chill out and linger with a great view of the North Sea, especially at sunset, the food there is great, preferably every day, service is very attentive and nice, so the complete all-round happy package there. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

We always love going here for the great steaks. Meat from practically around the corner. Very friendly staff and of course a good view.

Hello, on August 15th, 2024, a family of 4 from the Allgäu with two friends from Berlin had dinner here on Böhler Strand in the evening in this mega restaurant. It was super tasty, completely sufficient and the staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. Out of sheer joy that evening, we took a crew shirt with us as a souvenir, which was even signed by the team upon request. I can only recommend it and will come back any time we are in the area on vacation.

Very far to walk for those with walking difficulties. Parking costs €13 near the restaurant. €3 tourist tax per person to even get there.

The Salt and Silver convinced us. The view of the North Sea is simply breathtaking and the atmosphere is very cozy. However, we were also in high tide, so the route was a bit adventurous. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We drank coffee and ate cake here, which rounded off the afternoon nicely. We'd love to come back!"

Too hip and cool for SPO. Salt & Silver aims to embody a laid-back lifestyle. Unfortunately, the staff all too often forgets hospitality. It gives you the feeling that you are lucky to eat there. The food is mostly good, but the portions are a bit too small. The restaurant scores in SPO with its location, which is easy to reach and offers an excellent view. We can certainly still work on the cleanliness of the sanitary rooms.

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation and were pleasantly surprised! delicious fish prepared on a charcoal grill and other sophisticated dishes.

It goes without saying that the location itself is top notch. The team is also really friendly and offers good service. Didn't have any food, but had a few drinks there, which were good in themselves, but I think they were a bit too expensive for the mini portions. A drinking straw or stirrer in the glass would also be good, as I tasted in the last few centimeters that the vanilla syrup in my second drink (Vanilla Sky) had sunk all the way to the bottom and that sweetened my farewell a little too much... So: Shake it – shake it real good. 🍹

The view is great, the restaurant is attractive. We just had a drink. Even though it wasn't very busy, we had to wait a long time for service. There were tons of employees walking around, but somehow we weren't acknowledged. We drank a spritz which was quite expensive. But there were 6 ice cubes in the glass - of course you're happy to have a taste of that (warning: irony!) After two sips you only had water in the glass. We found the store totally overpriced - more appearance than reality! There are better beach bars in SPO!

Really great atmosphere in a super beautiful holiday region - for the first time in SPO and totally thrilled! Now to the restaurant. The staff is totally overwhelmed. So overwhelmed that he gave us all the drinks (1L water, large Soezi, 2 white wine, Hefeweizen) without asking. There were two of us and the first four dishes mentioned were unfortunately no longer available - what? No matter, then we ordered what we otherwise wouldn't have taken. The first dish arrived - cold. Ok, but then it came a second time - warm. When my wife was halfway finished, my food arrived 15 minutes late. The quality of the sea bass was very good - unfortunately its skin was burnt. I had ordered a white wine with it - which didn't come. The waiter came instead: 'Wouldn't you like something to drink - oh sorry, you had already ordered'. Conclusion: Great environment - you have to see it. Make it as easy as possible for those working there, cake is always possible!

We wanted to go for coffee with our dog at 4:46 p.m. We should have done that in 14 minutes. At 5 p.m. they kicked us out with our dog. What's that supposed to mean??? The store was empty... Not recommended!

The best restaurant in SPO. There is simply nothing missing from the dishes here, everything tastes great, the prices are upscale, but this is absolutely justified in comparison with other restaurants here. The staff is great, always friendly, committed, doesn't skimp on providing interesting additional information, very accommodating. The view of the sunset from the outdoor terrace is unique. We'd love to come here any time!

A smaller menu at lunchtime. Could be even more typical “North Sea” or “salt”, at least to me. But there is soup (to warm you up) and also cheaper offers. Maybe another dish “what my mom always made” for holidaymakers who are young at heart and have walked a few meters there. I thought the service (friendly, quick and explained everything) was great. Outside 🌞, warm inside.

As a guest who comes there to enjoy coffee and cake, I found the atmosphere to be quite snooty. After I said that I would like to eat cake, the male waiter couldn't even tell me what kind of cake was available. I should go to the counter and find out about it myself. However, if I had ordered one of the reasonably priced lunch dishes, the waitress would have been able to tell me in great detail that the fish was cut in a butterfly cut or that the eggplant was scraped out (I was still surprised by the unpleasant description - if it was technical jargon) . I was able to overhear this at least four times during my stay on the terrace. Well, the cake was absolutely not a highlight compared to the other culinary pile dwellings. Quite dry and very small portion. All in all I don't need Sylter wannabe touch. The coffee was ok.

We passed by the beach just below after a day at the beach. Our meals were very tasty and fresh. Really everything (even the kids' chicken nuggets) was freshly prepared in-house. No HC. Service friendly and on point. Thank you for the lovely evening. The ambience is great and the view is wonderful.

Ultimately I give it one star because it reminds me a lot of Zanzibar 2.0. People who let their children play on the benches even though you have been assigned the seat (and you stand in front of the bench for 2 minutes before the parents call the children), people with Louis Vuitton bags (who sneak past the waiting area as a matter of course without the employees something to say about it), barking dogs and completely overpriced food. At the beginning you were immediately offered water “to arrive”. But it wasn't said that you have to pay €6.50 for it. Mind you, this is (filtered) tap water. At the tables next to us, the waitress loudly reports on scraped tender eggplants, butterfly cut fish fillets, etc. When someone receives their food, each dish is listed and explained again exactly how it was made. However, the condition did not know which cakes and tarts were currently available. The food and drinks are okay, but the price is not justified. For example, my coffee (€6) was watery. To be honest, I have to admit that I like the €3.50 Iced Moccachino from my university better. I think here you pay primarily for the sea view and the image. Unfortunately, the casual T-shirts don't help to make the store a little more friendly/receptive. It's a shame that you have to wait a long time until you are assigned a place (and that you are assigned a place at all and 90% of the places were already reserved). You feel a bit unwanted (my impression: unless you bring a lot of money and a certain arrogance with you). Very disappointing and disheartening experience. I've actually had nicer and more welcoming experiences in Zanzibar. That is not what the North embodies.

The food is very expensive and the portions are very, very small. The quality of these portions is also poor. In addition, the service seems to be always trying to put the work on the next person, so overall the service and food are not satisfactory. The location is of course perfect, a stilt house, beach, water. Things don't get any better in this area, but apart from that there is a lot of room for improvement.

Great view of the mudflats, but... the way the fish dishes are prepared is a matter of taste... We were there on July 15th, 2024, shortly after taking a seat, a clumsy waitress smashed the glass carafe of our predecessor in the middle of the table - it cracked and splintered and the shards were everywhere. We jumped up and the waitress came with a broom... that can happen , but there was neither a question as to whether everything was OK, nor an apology, let alone an aperitif on the house. The advertised meat (cut of the day) and the fish (turbot) did not come after 25 minutes as promised, but both after 3 (three) minutes! The meat was tasty and to the point, but the butt, on the other hand, not only looked old - it was tough and tasted that way too. The 50 euro portion was anything but filling, so a second main course was ordered. A fish stew (Cataplana) with cod and North Sea mussels. The latter tasted sandy with a bitter aftertaste. After the first complaint we were offered a coffee, after the repeated complaint the restaurant manager removed the aperitif and water from the attached bill and apologized for his employee. Oh yes, and of course we were called by tattooed staff who weren't even half our age without being asked.

Super nice location with a relaxing view of the sea. We had a delicious meal and also enjoyed a cozy sundowner in the afternoon. All the employees are super friendly, create a great atmosphere, are competent, attentive and courteous and we simply felt welcome. A very clear recommendation!!!

We had a lovely evening at sunset. Luckily we were also able to sit outside. So the atmosphere was very nice. We were very impressed with the food. The service was quick and very friendly. However, the furniture was a little broken, so the stars were deducted a little. We would love to come back :) can recommend it to everyone!

Beautifully located on the beach, 🏖️ which you can also reach by car 🚙. Typical pile dwelling in SPO. Here you can watch the tide 🌊. Food 🐠was ok, service from the young lady was great!🏆 A wonderful place to stay. It's a shame that dogs are no longer allowed after 5 p.m.

My review is limited to the possibility of taking drinks and food with you (to the beach). The French fries (for 5 euros) are appropriate for the location, although there is no alternative. The staff is extremely friendly and even provides trays for larger orders based on trust. The menu for guests who eat in the restaurant no longer has any of the “snack bar” flair of the previous owners and the prices have been raised accordingly.

A completely perfect afternoon! Rarely have I experienced a restaurant that so effortlessly balances atmosphere, cuisine, advice, service and price. The view of the sea is amazing and the relaxed atmosphere allows you to switch off immediately. The waitresses are not only nice, but also super cool and attentive. A deep knowledge of the products and wines shows professionalism. A real highlight and definitely not a run-of-the-mill restaurant. With the visit I fulfilled a little dream of mine. We were welcomed at 1:30 p.m. whether we had made a reservation 🤔 the ​​next question was whether we wanted to eat or just drink 🤔 We just replied that we were there spontaneously on our bikes and would like to take a look at the map first. The prices on the menu lost our appetite. It's a shame about the old fish box 👎

Very good location to either have a drink or to eat. We each had a main course and a drink + carafe of water and came to €80. We liked it very much and that's why the price was ok for us. The on-site staff is very accommodating and we felt very welcome. We had a reservation, but I think we would have managed without it on a Monday evening. To get to the restaurant, you either have to walk along the footbridge (approx. 1 km) and park in front of the SPO hut (there is a parking strip on the side where we didn't pay anything), there are also paid parking spaces with a parking ticket - or you drive through the barrier and I think you pay €10 for the whole day, then you can drive straight to the restaurant. The bus also drives in.

We ate at the Salt & Silver restaurant by the sea in St. Peter-Ording on June 7th, 2024 and had an absolutely fantastic dinner in a perfect atmosphere. Our main courses were the mezze, a selection of five homemade small dishes and bread, and the salmon fillet from the Faroe Islands, fried on the skin, with green vegetables, beurre blanc and potato and leek puree. Both dishes were exquisite and superbly prepared. The mezze offered a wonderful variety of flavors and textures, while the salmon fillet simply melted in the mouth and harmonized perfectly with the accompaniments. For dessert we had the soft ice cream cup, a homemade soft ice cream made from whole milk with cookies, crumble and seasonal fruits. A real treat that rounded off our evening perfectly. A special highlight was the informative exchange with our waitress. She gave us interesting background information about the ingredients used and made the culinary experience even more valuable. We were very impressed by the passion and knowledge of the staff. We can only warmly recommend Salt & Silver am Meer and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We received an extremely friendly welcome, were given a place on the terrace in a corner protected from the wind and were told that it was currently a break from the kitchen. Since we just wanted to have a drink and eat cake anyway, it worked. The selection of drinks is large and the prices correspond to the region. The rhubarb cake was very tasty. We'll definitely come back again.

Very, very nice service. Great view, a bit off grid, nice clientele. Rather windy outside, really very comfortable inside even in bad weather (then it is advisable to come by car and park directly below). The food was delicious, the plaice had plenty of butter, and the French fries were to die for. Preheated plates would be smart because the food cools down quite quickly in the wind. Cataplan was also delicious. Super delicious cake!
