My wife, our son, my mother-in-law, and I went there on Mother's Day. The food was okay for the price. The behavior of the waiter, however, was not just unacceptable, it was unacceptable. My mother-in-law relies on her walker, and our 2.5-year-old son also needs his stroller. We positioned both the walker and the stroller so that the waiter had enough space to walk through. However, it was noticeable that this still bothered him, and he served us reluctantly. When we had finished eating and were about to pay, the waiter grabbed the walker and put it outside without asking. The fact that my mother-in-law is seriously ill and can barely walk was probably irrelevant. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and have been satisfied so far. Apparently, customs have changed there, and guests with disabilities or very young guests are not welcome. It's good that there are other restaurants, which we will now try.

Great location. Right on the pier, with views of Lake Constance and the mountains. Service was friendly and helpful. Short wait times for the food. Okay value for money. The food tasted okay, but could have been presented with more care. We personally found the portions too small and too small for the price. All in all, it was okay, but it didn't blow us away.

Had dinner here during a short vacation on Lake Constance. Very friendly service! I ate freshly prepared Kretzer fillets without having to wait long. Very fresh and delicious, reasonably priced, and well worth the price. Highly recommended.

The food was good, but everything was already prepared, with the food (salmon with sauce and potatoes) arriving after just 5 minutes.

Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us – the homemade spaetzle was very greasy, the Wiener schnitzel wasn't very tasty and the quality could have been improved, and the sauce was tasteless. The only highlights were the good location and the very friendly staff. Overall, therefore, we unfortunately don't recommend it.

A brilliant place! Not only does the location on the lake make it perfect, but the food is also high quality and the prices are more than fair. The highlight, however, remains the attentive and friendly service. A definite recommendation; I'll be back!

The restaurant is located directly on the promenade. You have a wonderful view of Lake Constance. The food there is really delicious and reasonably priced. The food was freshly made and tasted very good. There was enough choice and also some vegetarian dishes. Dishes could also be adjusted upon request. The service was top. The waiters were all very friendly. Overall it was a very pleasant and delicious experience. I would definitely visit the old post office again on my vacation.

We were out on the promenade in Meersburg in beautiful weather and spontaneously got a spot here for the two of us. The service was very friendly, drinks and food were at the table quickly. Highly recommended: fish, especially the fried zander fillet.

We spontaneously came across this restaurant today because we were looking for a delicious pork knuckle and we were not disappointed. Short waiting time, good value for money, delicious food, nice atmosphere and great service!!!! We were served by Nico and were 1000% satisfied, he was very attentive and always made sure that we were well looked after. Guest satisfaction is the top priority here. We would love to come back when we are at Lake Constance again. Can only warmly recommend the restaurant. Beautiful view of Lake Constance.

Went there as a couple to have something to eat. I had ordered a medium steak but it came “all the way through”. Actually it wasn't an issue because it still tasted good. Without me saying anything, we both got a free dessert to make up for it. Such great service and great feeling. Gladly again and again

Very small portion for the price

Schnitzel frozen and tasted like stale fat... Unfortunately a complete failure... Unfortunately the waiter said no to the question about frozen schnitzels...

Went for dinner with 4 people... our service (blond hair) was simply great, any change in the food was no problem, a second spoonful for the soup was no problem, no matter what - it was no problem and was implemented. Service 5 stars. Had 4 different dishes and all of them were on point...the chef had outdone himself - 5 stars+ Price-performance is great, the view over the lake is beautiful and we would like to come back

The restaurant is right on the promenade and the service was very friendly. We ate fried fish with mixed salad and potato salad. The fish was okay, you can't go wrong here. The salad and potato salad were really subpar. The potato salad had half a potato in it and the salad dressing and the potato salad sauce were not edible. The cook should get further training in this area. If we didn't live so far away, then he could get "tutoring" from my wife.

Tastes good, but points are deducted for several reasons. We didn't like the atmosphere, nothing comfortable, somehow nothing fit together. More regional food would have been nice, potato salad ordered instead of potatoes (not additional) was charged €2.50. Everyone!!! Guests who came in were told that nothing was available and everything was reserved. After much deliberation back and forth, it was said that we could have a place, with a maximum time slot of 1.5 hours. This gave the impression that we had to leave quickly to clear the table for the next guests and it was fitting that our food came so quickly that I hadn't even eaten half of my salad beforehand. Overall ok for us, but nothing more. Location right on the lake is of course great, but outside it is uncomfortable due to the location right on the promenade.

I tried it with my wife for the second time...(have been restaurateurs ourselves for 20 years) underground! First the wrong food came, then it came out of the microwave with the right side dish and the main course was cold! The waiter probably already noticed that we were restaurateurs and to be on the safe side didn't even ask if it was ok this time!!! Mondamin sends his regards... Then it's better to go to McDonalds, because we know beforehand that we'll regret it later and pay less

Very tasty food, great view of the lake, great service, short waiting time, what more could you want? Eight of us went there spontaneously. Had various fish dishes (including whitefish with rice), vegetarian dishes (including dumplings with chanterelles) and something from the children's menu. All recommended. Would love to come back.

Great place, I recommend it to everyone. Hotel in the best possible location right on the edge of the promenade on the shore of Lake Constance. Rooms clean and fresh. The buffet breakfast is always fresh, the service is fast and very nice (especially Mrs. Irenka from Poland) and you won't have to wait long. Kawusia always in the morning with a wonderful view of the blue lake. The hotel is right next to the marina - you can get to every corner of the lake by boat in just a few minutes. When the weather is good, you can see the beautiful peaks of the Alps on the Swiss and Austrian parts.

Ordered fish plates here, good advice on the types of fish, everything was delicious, reasonably priced and a great view.

Food tasted like it came from the freezer, salad was good, but not much. The service spoke German semi-well, the food was too expensive for what you got.

We had an apartment with a wonderful view of Lake Constance. The apartment consisted of 2 spacious rooms with bathrooms. Breakfast had something for everyone and was always sufficient. Dinner very tasty.

We ordered a couple of Schnitzel which tasted extremely stale and were completely dry, as if they had spent some days in the fridge. Would not recommend nor come back

The Schnitzel and Schweinhaxe meat plates were very disappointing. Both dishes were extremely fatty and oily, with the meat tasting non-fresh and stale. Inside, meat was extremely dry. Did not meet expectations.

If you would like to eat on the promenade and at a very good price, you are in good hands here. And the food is very tasty. We'll be back again. 👍🏻

Stopped in spontaneously. Service very courteous and nice. Fast service. We had knuckle with fries. What was positive was that the food was not overly seasoned in any way. Salt and pepper are available at the table, so seasoning is no problem. The prices are cheap! The house wine is highly recommended and the cappuccino is very tasty. Little wine eye, unfortunately it wasn't available lactose-free. Still 5 stars because the rest was great.

I can't say anything about the hotel, we just ate on the promenade. Food was tasty, price performance was ok. Maultaschen were convenience but tasty. My travel companions' pasta with spinach was good according to their opinion. So all in all a solid restaurant.

Very professional, efficient and friendly service. We sat outside with a direct view of the lake. Prices are moderate for the exposed location. The portions are large enough and taste perfect. There were 4 variations of Lake Constance Fellchen, which was also a reason to go here to eat. Overall, a clear, unreserved recommendation!

Old-style restaurant in a good location. Service was very nice, price-performance ratio was okay. I ordered Rösti with mushroom cream sauce. Unfortunately, we got ready-made Röstitaler in (ready-made?) cream sauce with mushrooms, which wasn't right for the price. Eating also went very, very quickly, which for me is a sign of using ready-made products 😕 Unfortunately. We won't go there again!

The breakfast buffet offered is rather mediocre. Primarily old bread rolls, whole grains or similar every day? None, only white flour products. Cheese and sausage together on a platter, and also mixed together on top of each other...a horror for every vegetarian. The staff was very friendly, but 3 stars.

If there were 0 stars it would be 0 stars. We were eating there yesterday and while we were eating (schnitzel and breaded fish) my partner and I agreed that it must be frozen food or at least it tasted that way. The innkeeper himself wasn't exactly accommodating and when we asked what kind of liqueur we had in our glass after our meal, we were only met with a "that's none of your business" followed by laughter. The actual reason why it's 0 stars for me is that I was plagued by terrible pustules and itching the entire night and when I went to the pharmacy afterward it turned out that it was hives. Since I am allergic to glutamates and flavor enhancers, it was clear that our assumption about the frozen food was correct. After taking an anti-allergic medication, things are slowly improving again. I can be sure it was from the restaurant since I only ate one apple the rest of the day.

Urig gemütlich, nettes Personal, freundliche Preise und wir haben dort sehr gut gegessen. Die Lage ist wunderbar am Schiffsanleger. So gibt es auch immer etwas zu sehen.

Wir waren zu Gast im Restaurant. Gemütliche Stube an der Uferpromenade mit tollem Ausblick auf den See, sehr hübsch! Wir bestellten die Leberspätzlesuppe und Flädlesuppe und als zweiten Gang jeweils eine Fischplatte. Sehr sehr lecker alles!! Preise waren auch völlig in Ordnung. Bedienung auch sehr freundlich. Kann man empfehlen! Zum Hotel können wir leider nichts sagen.

Es gab Fisch und Haxe , die Haxe hatte eine gute Größe, als Beilage gab es lieblos aussende Pommes und Senf aus kleinen Plastik Päckchen wie an der Tankstelle. Die Haxe war etwas trocken aber dennoch essbar. Den Fisch ( Felchen) gab es mit Bandnudeln und frisch gerösteten Knoblauch . Alles in allem wirkt das Restaurant Alte Post eher wie ein Imbiss mit einer größeren Speisekarte. Die Preise jedoch orientieren sich mehr an einem Restaurant. Der Ausblick ist wie an einer Uferpromenade typisch gut aber leicht überrannt. Besonders da direkt vor der Außenterrasse die Anlegestelle der Fähre ist .

Stopped for lunch. A very nice place, local food cooked with perfection. Local beer is worth mentioning as it was nice, cold, and very refreshing. Beautiful vue on the Bodensee leak.

Kurz und knapp Essen war in Ordnung aber auch TK Ware ist nicht immer eine Option. Die Bedienung war freundlich und hatte immer ein Blick auf die Details. Der Standort am Wasser ist super 👍 Leider gibt es für Restaurantbesucher kein Parkplatz, aber das liegt halt nicht am Restaurant sondern an der Lage. Preis Leistung passt. Ich werde dieses Restaurant wieder besuchen und euch auf den laufenden halten.

Wer einfach essen möchte ohne viel Schnickschnack, der ist hier gut aufgehoben. Wir haben Jägerschnitzel und Haxe gegessen. Beides war sehr lecker. Die Größe der Portionen war völlig ausreichend. Ein Hinweis noch, das Jägerschnitzel ist nicht wie allseits bekannt Jagdwurst paniert, sondern richtiges Fleisch. Nichts desto trotz sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, der Standort ist nicht zu toppen, direkt am Wasser mit Blick auf den See.

Exzellenter Service, schnell, sehr freundlich und Extrawünsche wurden rasch erfüllt. Das Essen war richtig lecker und frisch! Uns hat es großartig gefallen und wir werden wieder kommen! Vielen Dank 🙏🏼

schöne lage, direkt am see. das personal ist durchweg freundlich (auch /obwohl wir noch gegen feierabend eingekehrt sind.) das essen war sehr gut, schöne portionsgrößen und preislich, bei der lage des restaurants, absolut ok. wir können die alte post empfehlen.

Waren zum Frühstücken im Hotel alte Post- es war sehr lecker u reichhaltig. Hatte meine beiden Kinder im Alter von 6 u 4 Jahren mit dabei... beides keine wirklichen Frühstücker 😏 pro Kind mussten wir dennoch 8 € bezahlen was ich u meine Familie total übertrieben fanden...zumal beide Kinder jeweils nur 1 Glas Saft u nicht mal ein ganzes Brötchen gegessen hatten 😑 Übernachtung in der Partnerpension jederzeit gerne wieder- aber definitiv ohne Frühstück!!!

Wir waren bereits im letzten Jahr hier beim Essen und es war sehr gut. Auch heute war das Essen wieder ausgezeichnet. Ich habe selten so ein leckeres Zanderfilet gegessen. Auch die restlichen Speisen waren sehr gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und die Preise haben auch gepasst. Wir kommen wieder.

Good food, great service, good location and worth the prices. They have both indoor and outdoor dining, gast and English English speaking service team, and most especially the food is really great. So whenever we are in Meersburg, we made it a point to stop by here for dining and when we have guests too.

Waren zum Mittagessen heute dort und rundum zufrieden. Leckeres Essen und gute Preise. Zumal direkt an der Promenade gelegen und schöne Aussicht auf den Bodensee.

Waren heute zum Frühstück dort. Nette Bedienung und es gab ein Buffet. Sehr gut und reichhaltig. Gerne wieder.

Anfangs waren wir wegen den günstigen Preisen (vor Covid und Inflation) doch verwundert. Wir haben beide Schnitzel einmal Wiener Art und Jägersoße gegessen. Absolut zu empfehlen! Die Bedienung war super nett und man sieht direkt an der Prominade. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Gruß aus Köln ;)

Meine Pfifferlinge und Salzkartoffeln waren unfassbar lecker! Die Schnitzel hätten etwas weniger fettig sein können aber im Großen und Ganzen lecker und sehr sehr nettes Personal :)
