Guter bis durchschnittlicher Inder. Macht man nichts falsch, hatte jetzt aber auch kein echtes Highlight. Ich war relativ spät da, da war der Reis nicht mehr perfekt. Einige Teile waren zusammengeklebt und klumpig. Für den Preis nicht ganz in Ordnung. Aber die Sauce und so weiter waren in Ordnung. Mango Lassi war auch gut.

Super lecker das Essen sehr zu empfehlen. Der Gastgeber ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Danke für das leckere Essen.

Das Butter Chicken war sehr lecker😍– gut gewürzt, cremig und das Fleisch sehr zart. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war ebenfalls top. Für die Qualität bekommt man wirklich viel geboten. Komme gerne wieder!😊

Nur 5 Sterne, da keine 10 Sterne gibt. Ich war mit meiner Frau im Urlaub in Köln und hatten Lust auf indisch. Das Restaurant sieht erstmal von draußen klein aus aber wir sind sowieso reingegangen. Es war eine Überraschung.Leckeres Essen, Personal ist äußerst freundlich. Lammgerichte und Lassi sind zu empfehlen. Ich komme unbedingt mal wieder zurück. Bravo!!

Das Essen war sehr reichhaltig und insgesamt lecker, wenn auch geschmacklich nichts außergewöhnlich Besonderes. Kleiner Kritikpunkt auf hohem Niveau: Der Reis wirkte, als hätte er schon etwas länger gestanden – teilweise eingetrocknet und verklebt. Positiv hervorzuheben ist der sehr freundliche Service: Ein Gericht wurde zunächst falsch gebracht, der Fehler wurde aber sofort und völlig unkompliziert korrigiert – so sollte das sein. Das Ambiente ist typisch indisch eingerichtet, ich persönlich fand es sehr nett und passend. Insgesamt ein gutes Restaurant, wenn man Lust auf solide indische Küche in großzügigen Portionen hat.

Ich habe Chicken Karahi, Butter Chicken, Seek Kebab und Aloo Gobi probiert. Das Essen war unterdurchschnittlich, alles sah gleich aus und schmeckte gleich. Der Kebab war von schlechter Qualität, hart und trocken. Ein verdorbener Abend. Der Service war gut, das Ambiente angenehm.

Obwohl der Besitzer überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend war, war das Essen leider eine große Enttäuschung. Es schmeckte, als wäre es aus der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt worden, und meine Begleitung konnte nicht einmal 20 % ihrer Portion aufessen. Das Restaurant selbst wirkt ziemlich altmodisch und riecht unangenehm; es bräuchte dringend eine Renovierung und das Personal eine moderne Kochausbildung.

Ein indisches Restaurant mit wirklich indischem Essen! Der Service fragt vorher nach, wir scharf man die Gerichte haben möchte; toll. Und genauso ist das Essen auch und nicht nur einfach scharf, weil "Indisch=scharf" ist. Der Service ist sehr nett und wir haben uns gut unterhalten können. Die nette Einstellung ist auch authentisch und nicht vorgespielt. Die Gerichte haben mir sehr gut geschmeckt, Kompliment an die Küche! Eine Empfehlung!

Das Royal Punjab ist ein tolles, authentisches Restaurant, nur etwa 10 Minuten von unserem Hotel entfernt. Wir waren gestern Abend dort. Der Service war höflich und freundlich. Wir wurden bestens betreut. Der Inhaber wusste, dass wir pakistanische Wurzeln haben und wies die Köche deshalb an, unser Essen im traditionellen Stil zuzubereiten, so wie wir es gewohnt sind. Die Angestellten waren sehr zuvorkommend und kümmerten sich bestens um uns. Wir mussten nicht lange auf einen Platz warten. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Meine Frau und ich hatten Lamm-Karahai mit Butter-Naan. Die Schärfe war genau richtig, das Fleisch zart und saftig. Wir haben den Abend sogar noch mit Freunden bei einer Tasse Tee ausklingen lassen. Für uns mit Abstand das leckerste indische Restaurant in ganz Köln! Wir haben schon sehr vieles aus der Karte durchprobiert und quasi alles war phänomenal :) Unsere aktuellen Favoriten sind Chilli Gobi, Bombay Potato und die Vorspeise Allu Tikki Channa. Auch der Paneer und die Samosas sind sehr empfehlenswert hier sowie sämtliche Masala und Korma Variationen. Auch die Preise sind total okay und der Service in der Regel sehr nett und kinderfreundlich. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne 🙌🏽

Die Qualität des Essens ist schlecht und den Preis nicht wert. Sie verwenden für Hühnchen-, Garnelen- und Hammel-Biryani immer die gleiche Basis. Die Vorspeisen sind minderwertig; das Hühnchen war altbacken und der Geruch und Geschmack waren deutlich wahrnehmbar. Eine absolute Verschwendung.

Being from UK and from a Pakistani origin, I know the taste of my curries. Royal Punjab did not dissappoint me at all. Food was amazing. I had seekh kebab starters and butter chicken. Anazing experience. We were served by a very nice gentleman named Tayyab.

It's one of the best authentic Indian restaurants around, and the dishes are always delicious and freshly prepared. The staff is very friendly and always recommends the perfect dishes.

Authentic Pakistani-Indian Cuisine at Its Best! We had an amazing meal at Royal Punjab, truly a taste of authentic Pakistani-Indian flavors! The Butter Chicken was rich and creamy, perfectly spiced, and melted in the mouth.The Kaari Pakora was crispy on the outside and tender inside. And the Mango Lassi? Simply refreshing. Every dish was bursting with authentic taste, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Pakistani-Indian cuisine! We’ll definitely be back for more.

Kaari Pakora was a standout spiced curry gravy with wonderful pakora soaked inside. Tikka Biryani was an amazing experience. Biryani with smoky chicken tikka pieces was simply an amazing combination. As for Tikka BBQ, the meat was tender, and marinated in bold, tangy spices. A must-order for anyone who loves smoky, juicy grilled perfection! Highly recommended.

As someone from India, I can confidently say that Royal Punjab serves some of the most authentic Indian food I’ve had outside of India. The flavors, the spices, and the traditional preparation methods are spot on—every bite takes me back home! The menu offers a fantastic selection of classic dishes, from rich and creamy Butter Chicken to perfectly spiced Biryanis and mouthwatering Tandoori specialties. The naan was fresh and fluffy, and the curries had the perfect balance of heat and depth. Beyond the incredible food, the service is outstanding. A special mention to Shaki, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. His friendly demeanor, attentiveness, and knowledge of the menu made us feel truly welcome. Das Essen war grundsätzlich OK, wobei wir nichts großartiges bestellt haben. Die Bedienung war aber nicht gut. Der Kellner stellte das schmutzige Geschirr von dem Nachbartisch auf unseren Tisch vor unseren Nasen und lächelte dabei. Sowas habe ich auch in Indien selbst nicht erlebt. Auch die Reste vom Essen liegen auf dem Boden am Eingang zur Küche, also ganz hygienisch scheint das lokal auch nicht zu sein. Es gibt definitiv bessere indische Restaurants in Köln.

A brilliant place to have your lunch. Food tastes awesome over here. The atmosphere is very nice as well. Neat and clean place with a very well behaved manager. Price is good only as in Cologne such good dishes are tough to find. I had non veg thali which had both chicken and lamb.

Its a small restaurant but service is very quick. The quantity of food is good enough to eat. Taste is very good and delicious just like the Pakistan. Saag chicken is their very good dish for those who missed Pakistani Saag. It can be found here. I recommend it try a good food at a small and affordable place in original Desi food.

100% authentic Indian food. My Indian friend was here with me and confirmed that the food was served 1:1 in New Delhi. 5/5 stars. But be careful: If you can't eat spicy, order mild (!). Medium is already very spicy for Europeans. One of the best Indian restaurants I have visited in Germany.

It's no exaggeration to say this was by far the worst dining experience in terms of service that I've ever had. My expectations aren’t particularly high, neutral is usually good enough for me; but the behavior of the maître d’ (and that’s being generous) was outright appalling. From the moment I walked in, it's like she decided I didn’t fit the ambience. She seated me at the table farthest from the window and then spent the rest of my visit barely acknowledging my existence, as if I was beneath her. (At first I thought she might just be cranky, but she was noticeably friendlier to groups, slapping on that fake smile quite effortlessly.) The tipping point came when I stopped her after placing my order to ask a follow-up question, and I saw her actually roll her eyes. I’m no body language expert, but surely a paying customer deserves at least the *pretense* of respect?… Maybe I’m being overly sensitive, but nothing like this has EVER happened to me. Bad meals are one thing—where at least the staff make an effort but something just goes wrong—but this felt horrendous in a way which seemed both deliberate and yet entirely avoidable. I left feeling deeply sad and humiliated. On the bright side, the man who brought me the receipt was lovely, genuinely warm and enthusiastic. He even got me a small complimentary shot of mango lassi, which, while a simple gesture, did help lift my mood after such a miserable hour or so (though it was probably less than that—I really left as fast as I could). As for the food, I could be petty and complain about the slightly clumpy rice or the soggy texture and faintly acrid, stale smell of the roti, but in fact the food was basically fine. The rice was pleasantly fragrant and the lamb was soft and well-seasoned. The portions were also very generous—I couldn’t even finish my meal because I was so full. Overall, this place is a mixed bag: decent food with a toxic vibe. If you have a thicker skin than me and don’t mind being treated as little more than $$, come with friends—at least then, you might get a smile (albeit a fake one).

Food top, service top but... toilets a TOGO Dear restaurant team - the toilets don't work at all. On the one hand, the flush didn't work and the ladies' sink was broken. For me the rooms were just dingy. Please urgently do a basic cleaning including corners on the floor and repair the defective devices. For me, the location is always an important indication of the quality of cleanliness in the store and provides an indication of the general cleanliness. The ceiling hangings and pictures on the walls should also be dusted off. That's why I would only order to-go and not eat there again.

Yesterday I got to try the original Indian cuisine again and not just take photos. A pleasure. I tried Karahi chicken. Very tasty with a pleasant spiciness. Nice atmosphere with outdoor area. The friendly service makes the restaurant highly recommended.

Ordered a gin and tonic and the waiter brought it mixed from the counter and holding the glass in his hand and fingers close to the brim of the glass without using a tray 🤑No ice ,no Lemon nothing. When pointed out he tried to pick it up again using his bare hands. All the service was done without using trays. I hope the management will buy some trays and teach the staff to use it like you expect in a decent restaurant. Chicken tikka masala had too much color and not so good taste. Overall bad experience

The mix pakoras were good, but the chutneys were not. The mint chutney was with sweet vegan yogurt, so inedible. Tamarind chutney boring, no cumin just thick sour ketchup. The Paneer Korma is too convenient… Wouldn't eat there again especially because of the very high prices, just under €25 for a main course and a starter (no drink).

Lamb Do piaza was very tasty, the tandoori was good and impressive (arrived smoking and boiling) Tandoori comes with a naan and a tomato masala sauce and the lamb do piaza with naan or rice. All in all, very good and friendly service.

Real (!) Indian cuisine with a great selection. Very tasty meat dishes, but vegetable fans will also be happy here. Super nice service, cozy atmosphere in a family business - we'll be back.
