Very small portions when you order. Also very little content (chicken or cheese). But delicious. Very tomatoey. Shallow bowl was not completely full. See below.

Sorry. They used to be regular customers. Haven't been here for 2 years due to moving. Used to be great, today it's a flop. Totally run down, where broken, half of the dishes couldn't be eaten. Knowledge totally stretched with water. Lamb portion was 4! Tiny pieces of meat, smaller than goulash. The taste was also a flop, minus, there was no chef left, the son who always waited tables is now cooking. Sorry, that was the last time

We always liked going here because of the good food at reasonable prices. But after today, probably not anymore. Apparently there has been a change of ownership, in any case the prices have increased considerably, but in return the quality has decreased and so has the service. I ordered butter chicken, which tasted okay, but was never butter chicken. When I was asked when paying if everything had been ok, I was honest and said no - after all, I hadn't received the food I ordered. The waitress said succinctly that it always tastes like that here and nothing else was of interest. Well, the solution could have been more customer-oriented... You probably want it to be a restaurant, but the ambience is more like a snack bar+. Cleanliness isn't a top priority - tables weren't clean and if I had looked behind the counter (i.e. where the cooking is being done) beforehand, I probably wouldn't have gone back in. Everything is dirty and hasn't been cleaned in ages. As I said: never again!

The ambience left something to be desired, but overall it was OK. We ordered mango lassi, which was very tasty and creamy. As a starter there was garlic naan, which didn't quite meet our expectations, but was still tasty overall. The highlight was the main course, I ordered lamb with potatoes and vegetables in a pleasantly slightly spicy curry-yoghurt sauce with basmati rice. The lamb (from the leg) was very tender and absolutely delicious, the sauce went perfectly and the rice and vegetables were also very tasty. The portion was generous and I was absolutely full. The staff was friendly and attentive and we were also pleasantly surprised by the fair prices; the lamb dish was available for just under €15. Conclusion: Overall, very tasty food at good prices, but I would recommend that the restaurant operators invest something in the ambience and interior.

Delicious restaurant!!! As soon as you enter it doesn't seem very promising, but when you take a seat an employee immediately comes to you to offer you a menu and ask what you want to drink. Drinks were served quickly and we were able to order food right away. The waiting time for the food was slightly on the long side, but that is because they prepare everything fresh and really do their best to make everything taste good, and we were with 6 people. As soon as we received our food we were very surprised about the taste and quality of the food. Highly recommended to come and eat here! My compliments.

Portions do not come in karahi, as is usual in Indian restaurants, but on a plate. So the portions are smaller. Food was ok, not outstanding but not bad either. It's like a snack bar. The naan is baked in the tandoor but is very dry. The restaurant is rather uncomfortable and doesn't invite you to linger. The seating options and the cover are falling apart. The toilet is full of spiders/dust webs on the ceilings and the doors are broken. There are bags of folders lying around and there is a sofa at the private table at the front, which is also cluttered. The lassi containers are sitting uncooled next to the counter, with glass cleaner next to them. The waitress (owner?) was friendly but looked very tired, not a smile to be elicited. It seemed to me more like it was just working. I was very sorry about that. As written, the food was okay. I wouldn't go there specifically, but if I were there, I would go again.

The last time I was at this restaurant was exactly on April 14th, 2022 and it was very good, today on March 24th, 2024 I was there too but everything was very bad, the food took 35 minutes and tasted very bad, I'm disappointed with it 😞 and will never be there again. And don't recommend it.

The experience in a restaurant in Cologne was extremely unsatisfactory and raises doubts about the quality of the restaurant. The decor and atmosphere of this establishment was more like that of a snack bar than an established restaurant. While I was there, the employees got into an argument, which called into question the professionalism and working atmosphere. My order of garlic naan was a complete disappointment. Instead of the expected fine naan bread with garlic oil and fine garlic pieces, I received a half-raw flatbread with raw garlic pieces, which was significantly different from the expected quality. (see photo) The condition of the kitchen and the cook's work area was particularly disturbing. Not only was he dressed inappropriately - without an apron at all - but he was also inappropriately distracted while preparing my food by constantly using his cell phone. The cell phone was even lying on the work surface and was covered in flour, which is extremely hygienic. The fact that he did not wash his hands reinforces these concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene of the establishment. I also noticed the inadequate condition of the entrance area and the ceiling directly next to the open kitchen, which raises doubts about compliance with food safety regulations. (see photo) The Cologne public order office's lack of response to such abuses raises questions about its integrity or effectiveness. It remains unclear how such an unkempt restaurant can still be operated. I cannot understand the reaction of other customers who seemed to tolerate such defects. It would be advisable to spend your money at another Indian restaurant in Cologne that meets the expected standards of cleanliness, hygiene and quality. This particular restaurant is not only a disappointment, but also casts a bad light on the entire Indian gastronomy in Cologne.

This was a very bad experience overall. They didn't have enough menus so we had to wait for other tables to finish before we could start looking. The waiter seemed a little indifferent and then annoyed working there and the restaurant itself has no atmosphere: no music, unfriendly lighting and seats that are falling apart. The naan bread is dry and tasteless, and the food is overly sweet, with a lot of fake color and no real love put into it. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Wir waren heute mit der Familie da und würden nicht wiederkommen. Das Essen war einfach nicht lecker. Der Service lustlos. Die Theke innen sah schmuddelig aus.

Being an Indian travelling to Cologne for the first time, I found this gem of a place to have authentic Indian food. I ordered Dal and it came with rice and it was as good as we could find in an authentic Indian restaurant in India. Extremely impressed not only with the taste of their food but also their low prices.

I've been here several times and it's always been delicious. Very friendly service. Except for the somewhat outdated imitation leather upholstery and the missing lock on the women's toilet, everything is great. I will gladly come again.

Der beste Inder in unserer Ecke. Das Essen ist super lecker. Vorallem das Naan ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wer gerne indisch isst, wird den Besuch nicht bereuen. Eine echte Empfehlung!

Hier war ich schon so oft Essen! Die Portionen sind groß, die Preise niedrig und es schmeckt immer fantastisch! Große Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten. Sehr unkompliziertes und entspanntes Restaurant. Zu 100% zu empfehlen :) Update: Drei Jahre nach meiner Rezession gehe ich immer noch regelmäßig dort essen und es schmeckt immer noch super!

Allgemein kann man sagen, dass das Essen lecker ist und definitiv der indischen Küche entspricht. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Vorspeisen, Beilagen und Hauptspeisen für jeden Geschmack. Das Ambiente wirkt etwas runtergekommen und kaum indisch-orientiert, was schade ist. Der Service war freundlich, allerdings wurde bei uns das Naan vergessen ( wir hatten dieses extra bestellt) und alles wirkte etwas unmotiviert und nicht koordiniert. Wer ein richtiges Restaurant erwartet, ist hier wahrscheinlich falsch, einen schnellen und leckeren Imbiss kann man hier jedoch definitiv erwarten.

Ehrlich gesagt so lala,das Fleisch war sehr fein und zart,aber ich mochte die Erbsen und Bohnen nicht in der tomatigen Sauce. Ich empfehle nachzufragen was unter Gemüse zu verstehen ist. Der Reis war sehr lecker und die kleine Vorspeise auch. In Brück, sorry, da haben wir Glück, da wird deutlich besser indisch gekocht ,einfach authentischer. Ich mag es nicht, wenn es auf den deutschen Geschmack ausgerichtet ist. Sorry, ich fand es langweilig. Die Preise sind fair,aber ich werde nicht mehr kommen.

Früher hat besser geschmeckt aber seit dem der damalige Koch weg ist leider nicht mehr typisch indisch/pakistanisch gewürzt. Zudem die Kellnerin (ich denke zugleich auch die Chefin) nicht Kundenfreundlich. Auf Fragen kommen negative Antworten sowie ob man extra scharfe Gewürze haben kann „gibt es angeblich keine“ auch durch Nachbartisch/Kunden bestätigt bekommen als die freundlich fragten „ob den deren Hähnchen nicht etwas verbrannt sei“ kam die Antwort ne so ist normal wir alle essen so...

The dishes i had so far were unique in taste. Huge variety of dishes. U can call prices cheap nowadays.

Sehr gute indische Küche. Jedes der Currys, welche ich bis jetzt probieren dürfte, waren wunderbar. Das leichte naahn ist sehr gut zu jeder Speise und die Linsensuppe ist mit Abstand für mich persönlich die beste Suppe überhaupt.

Seit 15 Jahren bin ich Kunde dort. Damals hatten die noch einen eher kleinen Laden gegenüber! Das Essen ist genial, sehr lecker und immer frisch zubereitet! Die Familie hat sich alles über die Jahre aufgebaut, mit viel Herzblut. Die Chefin ist unwahrscheinlich nett, ich hoffe, das Restaurant bleibt der Südstadt noch lange erhalten?!!!!! Still my preferred Indian restaurant in Köln in terms of the relationship between price and quality. Casual place - no white table cloths or 1970s decor here thankfully, and the kitchen is in full view of customers. Never had a problem with any of the staff, always friendly. Doesn't sell alcohol, but there's a Brauhaus next door if you're desperate for a Kölsch before or after your meal.

Ich bin jetzt mittlerweile seit fast 2 Jahren Kunde in diesem Restaurant und kann es nur weiterempfehlen ! Sowohl freundlicher Service als auch Essen, das mich jedes Mal erneut erstaunt hat.

Unfortunately disappointing. Service (for takeaway) was unkind and slow. Restaurant was empty and still the announced half hour waiting time was delayed by another 10min. Food was below average. The Lapra was boring and not juicy enough. Also quite expensive for this kind of food. The open kitchen is somewhat cool, but the rest of the restaurant is also not very cosy.

Sehr leckeres, frisches, für mich perfekt gewürztes indisches Essen. Habe schon verschiedene Gerichte probiert und wurde nie enttäuscht. Gerade als Vegetarier hat man eine super Auswahl. Auch das Personal ist immer freundlich und aufmerksam. Alkoholische Getränke bekommt man hier nicht, was einem Besuch aber keinen Abbruch tut. Ich komme immer wieder gerne hierher.

From the outside, it doesn't look like a good place but I fancied a curry. The interior is also a little rundown. However, the service was very friendly and helpful and the food excellent.

Wir haben zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Es war unglaublich lecker. Mein Favorit ist Chicken Chili Masala mit Knoblauch-Naan und Samosa. Es gibt große Auswahl in vegetarisch und sogar Vegan. Die Menge war ausreichend und sättigend. Das Essen war super und der Preis ist auch fair. In Köln habe ich kein anderes indisches Restaurant mit so fairen Preisen gefunden. Die Inhaberin ist sehr freundlich. Das Essen wurde sehr schnell serviert. Sauberes Restaurant und tolles Essen. Ich empfehle das Restaurant auf jedem Fall weiter und werde wieder hingehen.

Extremely disappointing.. While the food is distatesful and service is slow, the staff itself is extremely rude. The lady server asks for the feedback and enters into crazy confrontation when negative feedback is shared. The other recent reviews echoes similar experiences. Also, the kitchen is unhygienic which in itself should attract attention of the authorities. Come here if you like to ruin your evening.

Seit über zehn Jahren, noch vor dem Umzug in die neuen Räumlichkeiten, bin ich sehr regelmäßige Kundin in diesem Lokal, oft habe ich auch Besuch dorthin eingeladen. Als ich meine letzte Bestellung abholte und sie Zuhause auspackte, fehlte bei einem Gericht der indische Käse (eines der Hauptzutaten des Gerichts) und das andere Gericht schien nicht mehr zum Verzehr geeignet, es hatte eine leicht schleimige Konsistenz und roch sehr nach saurer Milch/ranziger Sahne. Als ich die Gerichte am Telefon beanstandete, verlangte die Mitarbeiterin, ich solle diese zurückbringen, den Fußweg von insg. 30 Minuten, konnte ich aber zeitlich nicht mehr schaffen. Die Dame, in dem Wissen, dass ich langjährige Kundin war, wies mich nur unfreundlich ab, dann sei es eben meine Schuld. Das war das letzte Mal, dass ich hier bestellt habe. Ich verstehe, dass eine Reklamation etwas umständlich sein kann, aber neben dem schlechten Essen so unfreundlich mit langjährigen Kunden umzugehen und keinerlei andere Lösung anzubieten, führt dazu, dass ich dieses Lokal nicht mehr besuchen werde.

Good food but Hopeless hostess. She should remove INDIAN from her name as neither she know the meaning of Atithi Devo Bhav (Indian Culture) nor she knows anything about hospitality. Food was good as she got a good Afghani Cook but unfortunately hostess is still in bylanes of Koln because of her attitude. If cook leaves her then restaurant will be out of business in less then 1 month

Did not like the taste, it was not even close to the authentic Indian flavours. Presentation and plating were not good either. The interior was poorly lit which turned to be a negative aspect in terms of ambience. The staff is good and friendly which is the only positive thing according to me. There is indeed much scope for improvement. Of all the indian restaurants I have been to in the past few years, I would unfortunately have to say, this makes it to the bottom of the list!

Leider war in einem Butter Chicken nur ein einziges Stück Fleisch. Die Enttäuschung war sehr groß. Nachdem wir dies telefonisch bemängelt haben wurde der Mitarbeiter uns gegenüber einfach nur unverschämt und meinte das kann nicht sein. Seine Aussage der Koch würde immer 5 Stücke hinein packen. Leider ist man uns kein Stück entgegengekommen. Noch nicht einmal eine Entschuldigung. Eine Frechheit Bild wurde mit gepostet.

Meine Nr.1 für indisches Essen in Köln. Freundlichere Bedienung hatte ich bisher nicht. Die Sauberkeit und Hygiene springt einem förmlich ins Auge. Bitte weiter so👍🏻

Tiefkühlgemüse in langweiligem Curry. Die Bedienung war erst unaufmerksam und völlig ignorant. Niveaulos. Vorspeisen sind guter Standard. Daher ein 2. Stern.

Direkt beim Bestellen wurden wir von der Chefin angemotzt das wir auch etwas zu essen bestellen müssten und nur Getränke nicht ausreichen ( als einzige Kunden im Laden). Dann wurde mir auf meine Nachfrage hin weißgemacht das sie kein einziges nicht-scharfes Gericht auf der Karte haben. Während dem Essen wurden wir mehrmals von der Chefin bemotzt das wir zu laut seien und wir doch gehen sollen wenn es uns hier nicht gefällt. Der Nachbartisch ist wegen dem Verhalten der Chefin dann auch gegangen! Noch nie in einem sich als Restaurant verkaufender Imbiss so unfreundlich Behandelt worden.

Eine willkommene Alternative zu unserem ursprünglichen Plan. Sind durch Zufall in dieses Restaurant gegangen und haben dort sehr lecker gespeist. Der Service war freundlich und zugewandt und es blieben keine Wünsche offen.

Waren an Karneval dort. Während des Umzuges, der DIREKT vor der Tür lang lief, wollten wir etwas essen. Wegen unseren Kostümen wurden wir komisch beäugt (an Karneval!?) und als wir leise Karnevals Musik abspielten wurden wir angemotzt. Kunden haben den Laden bereits verlassen weil wir KEINE Musik spielen durften. Die Chefin scheint nicht nur Karneval zu hassen, sondern war total unfreundlich. Essen war akzeptabel, aber nach so einer Erfahrung und dieser unfreundlichen Chefin, war das unser letzter Besuch.

Essen war okay, aber für den Preis hätte ich deutlich mehr erwartet - sowohl was die Portion, als auch was den Geschmack betrifft.

Wir waren Mittags da und waren überrascht, wie voll das Restaurant war. Drei Tische waren noch frei. Service war freundlich hatte alleine (!) aber echt gut zu tun. Chicken korma war sehr lecker aber das Soße/Reis Verhältnis ging nicht ganz auf (zu wenig Soße oder zu viel Reis?). Würde wiederkommen und auch andere Gerichte probieren.

Tolles Essen zu fairen Preisen, natürlich keine Sterne-Küche, aber das erwartet man auch nicht. Portionen sind ausreichend.. War mittags da. Einrichtung ist authentisch.

Köstliches indisches Essen! Personal sehr nett und gastfreundlich. Würde es jedem empfehlen. Die Lage ist top. In der Nähe befindet sich der chlodwigplatz mit vielen Kaffee Möglichkeiten nach dem herzhaften Essen.

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen leider nicht teilen. Weder gemütlich (ziemlich abgenutzte Sitze) noch authentisch indisch (Lamm ok, mit Gemüse = Erbsen und Möhren aus der Dose 😳). Meine Frage nach Getränken wurde wortkarg mit "Wasser, Cola, Fanta" beantwortet. Nee, danke! Wenn man mal ganz schnell etwas essen will, dafür ist es ok, mehr aber leider nicht.

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker und ein Geschmackserlebnis. Was uns diesmal leider gestört hat, ist das Ambiente. Die Sitze sind abgenutzt und die Tische teilweise dreckig. Getränke mussten wir uns selbst nehmen, Service eher abwesend und nicht besonders freundlich. Die Bestellung wurde aber korrekt aufgenommen. Wir waren in der Vergangenheit aber immer zufrieden.

Wir, mein Mann und ich, sind sehr begeistert von diesem Lokal. Das Essen ist einfach köstlich, die Preise völlig in Ordnung und das Personal, auch im größten Stress, super freundlich. Wenn man sich aus dem Homeoffice ins Büro begibt wird in diesem Lokal ein jeder der Kollegen fündig, satt und zufrieden.

Wir wurden herzlich begrüsst und der Wunsch nach einem Tisch draussen wurde schnell erfüllt. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Traditionelle indische Gerichte mit viel Liebe zubereitet (man konnte zuschauen). Die Portionen waren gross und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auf jeden Fall (eher günstig). Einziges Manko, die Frau die uns am Tisch bediente, war etwas träge und macht einen unmotivierten Eindruck. Jedoch war sie freundlich und nahm die Bestellungen fehlerfrei auf.

Geschmackserlebnis pur. Wirklich ohne zu übertreiben ist es eine "kulinarische Reise", was dem Gaumen dort widerfährt. Frisch, lecker und die Gewürze, der absolute Hammer. Ich gehe jetzt schon sehr oft dorthin und ich wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Konstanz in der Qualität.

Das Essen ist gut, aber die Portionen sehr klein. Für Teenager ausreichend. Für Erwachsene eher nicht.

Wenn ich ohne Stern kommentieren könnte, hätte ich auch gemacht. Ich habe Beriani bestellt und es hat überhaupt gar nicht mit Beriani zu tun. Ich empfehle euch zuzumachen, wenn ihr die Bestellungen nicht wahrnehmen könnt und nicht erfüllen könnt. Schlechtere gäbe es nicht. Und aufjedenfall unfreundlich also wofür habt ihr noch auf!!!!!!

Came here for a family reunion. Food was amazing. Served from waiter who has headphones in and constantly talks in indian on the line.
