Das Essen und der Service waren durchschnittlich und entsprachen nicht meinen Erwartungen. Das Restaurant akzeptiert nur Bargeld, bitte beachten Sie das. Obwohl ich kein Trinkgeld geben wollte, behielt die Kellnerin ungefragt einen Teil des Betrags als Trinkgeld ein und gab mir den Rest zurück.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Rinderbraten und Paneer Masala ... waren lecker!

Wir hatten für Freitag, den 26.6. einen Tisch für zehn Personen reserviert. Nach einem anstrengenden Tag in Köln sind wir in sengender Hitze zum Restaurant gelaufen, welches dann (wegen Hitze) geschlossen hatte. Ich habe Verständnis dafür, bei Temperaturen um 40 ° C ein Restaurant zu schließen. Absolut kein Verständnis habe ich dafür, dass wir nicht benachrichtigt wurden. Für uns kommt dieses Restaurant definitiv nicht mehr in Frage. Sehr enttäuschend!

Das Essen war qualitativ sehr gut und hat uns überzeugt. Beim Bezahlen wurden wir jedoch überraschend darauf hingewiesen, dass ausschließlich Barzahlung akzeptiert wird. Da dieser Hinweis weder bei der Bestellung noch zuvor kommuniziert wurde, wirkt das in der heutigen Zeit nicht nur wenig zeitgemäß, sondern hinterlässt auch ein gewisses Geschmäckle. Bei einer Rechnung von knapp 150 Euro für vier Personen ist es für mich schwer nachvollziehbar, warum keine Kartenzahlung angeboten wird, zumal die Gebühren für EC‑Zahlungen heutzutage maximal bei etwa 1,75 % liegen. Für unseren nächsten Besuch indischer Küche werden wir daher voraussichtlich den Chennai Chef in der Woensamstraße ausprobieren, wo auch Kartenzahlung möglich ist.

Schon beim Betreten des Masala Empire fühlt man sich willkommen: Das Ambiente ist stilvoll, warm und einladend – mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der Service ist außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und dennoch angenehm zurückhaltend. Man spürt, dass hier echte Gastfreundschaft gelebt wird. Das Essen war ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis! Die Gewürze sind perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt, jedes Gericht schmeckt authentisch und frisch zubereitet. Besonders empfehlen kann ich das Butter Chicken und das Paneer Tikka – beides ein Traum. Auch die Beilagen wie Naan-Brot oder die Linsensuppe waren hervorragend. Wer indische Küche liebt, kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten – und wer sie noch nicht kennt, wird sie hier garantiert lieben lernen. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt: Die Speisekarte bietet sowohl für Fleischliebhaber als auch für Vegetarier eine tolle Auswahl. Alles wird frisch zubereitet, und das schmeckt man. Fazit: Masala Empire ist für mich eines der besten indischen Restaurants in der Region. Ich komme garantiert wieder – und bringe beim nächsten Mal Freunde mit!

Mir wurde nun schon zum zweiten Mal in Folge mitgeteilt, das Restaurant habe jetzt leider geschlossen. Dabei war es gerade 21 Uhr. Öffnungszeit angeblich bis 22:30 Uhr. Das ist einfach miserabler Service. Ich finde die Öffnungszeiten müssen auf 21 Uhr hr herabgesetzt werden.

Ein absolutes Muss für Liebhaber authentischer indischer Küche mit gelegentlichen deutschen Einflüssen, wie zum Beispiel Spargelcurry. Einfach köstlich.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die selbstgemachte Limonaden haben auch gut geschmeckt, aber das wäre Highlight war das Chicken Tikka Masala und das Mutton Rogan josh. Beides war gut gewürzt und auf Nachfrage auch etwas schärfer zu bestellen.

Wir sind heute das erste Mal im Masala Empire, ein tolles Indisches Restaurant in Köln. Die Ambiente war super der Service hat sich um alles gekümmert einfach toll und das Essen einfach Hervorragend es war ein toller Abend kann ich nur empfehlen. Vielen Dank.

Sie akzeptieren nur Bargeld und haben in ganz Deutschland nur eine einzige Filiale, die das so handhabt. Niemand sagt etwas dazu. Die Leute sind zwar nett, aber der Service ist eine Katastrophe. Wir warten über 30 Minuten auf die Rechnung und erfahren dann, dass wir zur Bank müssen, um Bargeld abzuheben.

Essen ist okay, Bedienung ultralangsam aber wenigstens "sorry, only cash"...

Das vegetarische Mittagsgericht ist fast immer super.. nur einmal gab's was, das mir zu sehr zucchinilastig war.. Chardonnay 2-

Nicht empfehlenswert! Wir waren dort zum Abendessen. Wir bestellten Samosa Chaat, das mit indischem Chaat überhaupt nichts zu tun hatte. Auch das Hauptgericht, insbesondere das „Chicken Tandoori“, schmeckte nicht indisch und war mit viel zu viel Farbstoffen überladen! Der Service war gut. Ich kann dieses Restaurant niemandem für indisches Essen empfehlen. Außerdem ist es heutzutage wirklich unmöglich, ohne Rechnung bar bezahlen zu müssen oder keine Kartenzahlung zu akzeptieren.

Der Mittagstisch ist super günstig und lecker. Das Brot ist unbedingt zu probieren. edit: leider keine Kartenzahlung.

Das Essen war bei allen sehr lecker und authentisch und die Bedienung war auch freundlich. Leider mussten wir auf unser Essen aber super lange warten und dann wurde auch noch etwas vergessen.

Sehr gutes und frisches Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Leider unflexibele Chefin, mehr als Hälfte der Sitzplätze waren frei, und dennoch durften wir nicht zwei Tische nebeneinander schiebe, um nebeneinander zu sitzen. Dies ist wohl nur gestattet, wenn man zu dritt oder vier kommt.

Wir bestellen immer online, Lammcurry. Essen wird immer heiß geliefert. Die Sauce ist immer noch gleich lecker. Anfänglich gab es auch immer eine große Portion Fleisch, die wirklich ausreichend war. Mittlerweile gibt es seit den ca. 4 letzten Bestellungen, ca. 3-4 Stücke Fleisch weniger. Dafür erhält man 3-4 große Stücke Paprika mehr, um es zu kaschieren. Jetzt zu der vorvorletzten, und vorletzten Bestellung: Dabei fielen uns noch vorhandene Fettstücke am Lammfleisch auf, was wir bei den ersten Bestellungen so nie erhielten, und jeder gute Koch, oder Metzger. vorher weggeschnitten hatte. Und jetzt zur heutigen Bestellung, bezogen auf das Fleisch. Heute erhielten wir einen kompletten Brocken reines Fett, geschnitten wie das restliche Fleisch, also reinen Abfall, weshalb ich nur noch 2 Sterne vergebe. Eine absolute Frechheit, so etwas einem Kunden zuzumuten. Anfänglich war das durch die dicke Currysauce nicht erkennbar, weshalb man diesen Abfall erst im Mund hatte. Nach dem ersten Bissen, auf das vermeintliche Fleisch, merkte man natürlich an der Konsestenz, was man für einen Müll im Mund hatte, und legte es angewiedert zur Seite, und hofft, morgen keinen Ekelherpes entwickelt zu haben. Es wäre schön, wenn Lammcurry wieder in der gleichen Menge, und reines Fleisch, wie vor ca. einem Jahr, zukünftig wieder geliefert würde.

Super leckeres Essen und sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken ist wirklich riesig und wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Schöne Atmosphäre, freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen! (Das Mittagsmenü ist ein Schnäppchen!), wir essen dort einmal pro Woche! :)

Modernes Ambiente & super Service ️ Modern eingerichtet, aber trotzdem gemütlich. Personal super freundlich und erklärt die Gerichte. Die große Terrasse ist ein echter hingucker – ruhig, grün und entspannend. Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder!

We were at the demonstration against violence against women today, and at some point I needed to use the restroom. The restaurant was practically empty, and I was the only demonstrator there. When I asked if I could use their restroom for, say, €1, the answer was a firm and immediate no. Absolutely not. It's a shame, both personally and in terms of solidarity with the demonstration. I will never eat there again. This has never happened to me in Cologne either.

The staff at the restaurant are very friendly. It's located in a quiet and pleasant square. The food is delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced. They have vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered Vegetable Kadai, and it was good (although a little spicy for me), and since it was the daily special, it was inexpensive. Highly recommended :)

Authentic and very diverse cuisine. It was extremely delicious. However, the service was a bit overwhelmed. We were served politely, but we certainly would have tried more if the staff had been more attentive.

This was our second time here and we enjoyed the wide selection (there's a separate section for Ayurvedic dishes!), the atmosphere, and the delicious dishes. Everything is perfectly seasoned, the meat is tender, and the rice is fantastic. Two minor points: the noise level was a bit tiring. And we would have liked to have seen on the menu which dishes were milder or spicier. But overall, it was a well-rounded evening.

The experience was rather mixed, as we had to wait over an hour for our food and the staff were generally rather difficult to reach. The food, however, was really good. Another point deduction, however, is the lack of card payments, which is truly inexplicable these days.

Masala Empire in Ehrenfeld was quite good. Friendly service, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere. It's not a culinary marvel, but it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for good Indian cuisine.

A nice Indian in Ehrenfeld close to Neptun Bad. It offers a good lunch business menu, a limited number of choice but enough to satisfy your lunch appetite for a reasonable price and good value. Friendly and fast service.

Unfortunately, I have to add to my original review. From the very first taste, I had doubts about the quality and type of meat—it tasted strange and not at all like chicken. Even more worrying was that a few hours after eating it, I experienced severe gastrointestinal distress, which was clearly related to this dish.

I ordered the meat-based lunch with small extras and a drink at 2:30 p.m. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the ingredients – by no means a given. The food arrived very quickly, with extra papadums and less rice, as requested and at no extra charge. I didn't find it as visually pleasing as it tasted. The portion was generous – the rest was carefully packaged and given to me. I was sitting outside, right next to the building. When the sunshade was automatically rolled up – despite the full sun – small black particles rained down on the table, food, and me. For this reason alone, I'm deducting points; otherwise, the value for money was excellent. I'll sit somewhere else next time...

I'd give it about 4.5 out of 5 stars. All in all, it was a well-rounded experience; the food was excellent and the prices were absolutely reasonable. The waiter was only occasionally missing, but perhaps we chose the wrong table. However, it's important for anyone planning a visit to note that cash payments are accepted.

Great restaurant, you can already hear the delicious smell in front of the shop that finally brings you here, so great, you should just sign it a little better, unfortunately it's easy to miss. But everyone was really nice.

In terms of price, everything was absolutely fair, especially when you consider the quality. Even though we were only there for cocktails this time, the visit absolutely convinced us. The food was really good. However, the staff was incredibly rude. Six of us ate there and left a lot of tips. Then we went to the little booth for a moment before we got to the car. But two of us wanted to go to the toilet again. But since we had already paid we had to pay 1 euro per person. I told the waiter that I would like to order and I’ve been waiting at the table forever only to find out that the waiter simply ignore me and keep serving new guests that came long after me. Hier kann man in Ehrenfeld sehr gutes englisches Essen bestellen. Sowohl unsere Vorspeisen (Pakora) als auch die beiden Hähnchen- und Lammgerichte waren sehr lecker. Preislich noch alles im Rahmen, aber auch nicht günstig. Das Ambiente gefällt durch eine sehr schöne moderne Einrichtung.

Unfortunately, a disappointing service or evening, I was served the wrong dish and then it took a long time until the dish I actually ordered arrived. The rice was cold by then, I had already pointed out that I would like fresh rice, but it was served late. Only that at the end this rice was still on the bill, which was then deleted after I asked. The service generally seemed very chaotic and understaffed, it was also very loud and the seating was cramped, which was a real shame because the food tasted good.

Very below average food. I come from India and cook indian dishes on daily basis. I was expecting atleast decent food with a restaurant like this which is situated in a prime area. Few notes:- -Paneer butter masala had a food color in it which could not decide if it wanted to be red or orange. My 2 year old daughter and I had a great debate about the color. - It was so sweet that I need to sugar detox for atleast 1 week. - I am offended FOR Chole Bhature because it was so basic that I might have just eaten chick pea from the can. - I could have let go of the bad food experience if the reservation service was not that bad. We were given exactly 2 hours to eat which means we had to eat the food fast even if they brought it late to the table which WAS the case. And to top it all, when I made the mistake of ordering a dessert, I was told that I cannot have one as the reservation time was over. Truth be told, it was the first time, I had an experience like this where I was told that I cannot have any more food. I mean wtf! BTW, the place was not really bustling with people. There were at least 3 tables which were empty. So yeah a complete heartbreak on the Valentine's Day. Wish I had opted for a frozen meal from REWE. So yeah, please avoid this place. Spend your hard earned money in an Indian grocery store and make stuff for yourself. Because that would be much better and cheaper than this!

I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service is poor and please avoid the knife. The friendliness of the food was bad. It tasted like food that had been stored for a long time. It was of poor quality. We booked a month like any other human being and paid like any other human being. They treated us like dogs. They even told us that they would not serve us anything else because they had to vacate the table... Excellent work, on the negative side. I do not intend to return when there are others with better quality. Maybe all of this is a lack of professionalism or xenophobia, since we are not German. There is and there is more. When we made the reservation, the girl who pointed out the reservation said there was no highchair for children. That is what we saw as soon as we entered. It was exactly one highchair for children and it was not new, which leads us to believe that it had always been there. Terrible.

After a very long time we wanted to eat Indian food again and hit the jackpot here. We shared some appetizers and also helped ourselves to the fusion menu, a complete success. For the main courses we went for the classics a la tandoori and curry and were very satisfied with everything, well seasoned and very tasty. It was very quick, the service was great and the prices were fair - I will definitely come back and try out more dishes from the extensive menu. Thanks for a nice evening! Thats what you get for 45 euros? Food was cold, chicken hard, the dal portion is ridiculously small and they cover you in rice. Sorry, but that’s just not okay.

Incredibly bad restaurant experience in this store. We had to sit in the worst seat in the restaurant despite the restaurant being completely empty. But okay, we thought. There is also a pungent smell that can be smelled everywhere in the store. Incredibly unsympathetic waiter with no manners at all and a disrespectful manner. Very small portions despite the increased price. Nothing special in terms of taste. The highlight was when the waiter reached into our food and we then had to eat it. Never again !

Unfortunately, the restaurant couldn't convince us at all... there were 4 of us there and none of the dishes were balanced in terms of taste and extremely bland, especially for Indian cuisine... the meat in two dishes was also completely dry. The portions are relatively small but quite expensive. The friendliness of the staff also leaves something to be desired. There was also rubbish everywhere outside. Conclusion: Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio here is not right at all and there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of taste.

Ich hatte für Silvester das Menü für 2 Personen bestellt. Noch bevor wir unsere Mäntel ausgezogen und uns hingesetzt hatten, wurde wir über unsere Wahlmöglichkeiten informiert, anstatt uns erstmal Platz nehmen zu lassen. Die Speisekarte war sehr klein bedruckt, so dass ich sie abfotografiert habe, um die Zutaten erkennen zu können. Sie war ausschließlich auf Englisch verfasst. Die Bedienung war nett, schien aber überfordert zu sein, denn sie brachte mehrmals der folgende Gang, ohne das Geschirr des erste Gangs abgeräumt zu haben, so dass sie ohne unsere Hilfe nicht zurecht kam. Das Brot war fetttriefend und dahe ungenießbar. Am Ende wurden die Tische rundherum frühzeitig zusammengeräumt, was eine ungemütliche Atmosphäre erzeugte. Ich hatte nachher starkes Sodbrennen von dem billigen Fett, das offenbar verwendet worden war. Ich werde sicher nicht wiederkommen.

We went to Masala Empire on a Saturday evening. The reception wasn't unfriendly, but a “hello” or a smile would have been nice. The waitress also doesn't have a smile in her repertoire. A bright spot is the waiter, who catches the eyes of all the guests and repeatedly asks in a friendly service tone “do you need anything?” Everything OK?". The drinks took a while, otherwise everything went quickly. Then it's still very loud, which doesn't make you feel comfortable either. The bar clatters and rattles around with their work equipment and Indian music plays somewhere in the background. But when the food came, everything faded into the background. The food is to die for! I've never been to India, so I can't say anything about authenticity. But I can say that the two vegetarian dishes and the papadam we ordered were really delicious. .

Unfortunately, our impression and our small company Christmas party are very clouded. We consciously chose an Indian restaurant because we are all very big fans of Indian cuisine. The service repeatedly forgot things, including my main course, which is why I was allowed to watch my colleagues eat. Despite repeated requests ("please, really, really, really hot"), the beef vindaloo was not only not spicy at all, but also completely tasteless. A tasteless "goulash", if you will. We have the impression that a lot of value is placed on a hip ambience (successful!), but the kitchen and service are not under control and at quite hefty prices - a shame!

Unfortunately we weren't at all happy with the food yesterday. We don't understand the hype surrounding this restaurant. The food only looked authentic but didn't taste good. Starting with the Pani Puri, the "Pani" practically the main part of this dish was just water with a touch of chaat masala and chilli, in reality there are a lot more spices in there. 2. Starter was Tandoori Aloo, stuffed potato with paneer and grilled on tandoori grill, the potato was raw and the filling was very lean! As For the main course we tried Tandoori chicken Nawabi, which should have been marinated with a variety of spices. Although we emphasized when ordering that we wanted it to be authentically Indian and spicy, the chicken was only seasoned with salt. There was no other spice to taste. There was no taste of “Nawabi” (royal). We just ate our fill of naan. Sad about the money! The only nice thing about the restaurant was the friendly service and the ambience. One point deduction is for the "too authentic" sink in the women's toilet, which urgently needs renovation...

We went to Masala Empire yesterday for a late lunch with a larger group. We had to wait a relatively long time for our order to be taken, even though the restaurant was empty and there were only two small tables occupied apart from ours. The food was disappointing for me personally. The tandoori chicken with cashew cream was too dry and was served on grilled salad with dry rice and mint chutney. What we noticed particularly negatively were the many fruit flies that came out of the guest toilets and buzzed around your head while you were eating. For this reason, I can only advise against using the toilets. The entire floor was sticky and there were hundreds of flies buzzing around in the women's toilet. The fruit fly traps that have been set up no longer help. The prices are far too high for the quality offered. I wouldn't go there anymore.

As delicious as in India! Delicious and authentic Indian dishes, interesting menu and large drinks list. For me the top address for Indian food in Cologne. The butter chicken tastes as good as in India. The service is always friendly and quick.

Food was good, both flavor-wise and portion sizes and staff was okay. However we waited forever for everything - we were there on a Thursday evening after 7pm and sat outside. We waited at least 15min till our order was taken, then it took almost 30min till we received our order and after 1.5hrs no-one came to check on us and we had to get up to call a waiter to pay. Then we waited another 10-15min and still no one came to collect money, so one person went inside to pay but needed a receipt, as this was a business dinner and to be covered by the company. They said they'd bring the receipt out, but after another 15min still nothing happened. People had to leave, so two stayed behind to request the receipt again and wait.

The food is cooked very authentically and you can taste all the spices. Conclusion: Great cuisine and very tasty, but not for people who can't eat spicy food, as most of the dishes have a certain spiciness that isn't on the menu.
