Don’t get fooled be this ratings! Fellows, this is not how Indian food tastes!! This is one of the worst restaurant I have been to in last 5 years! It seemed like they served us with leftovers, hard and tasteless chicken, raw rice and tasteless

We went to this restaurant on the 18th April at around 9:30 PM. First we ordered a Masala papad, Paneer Tikka (Starter-Dry) and Vegetable Biriyani and 3 beers. After the first order of 2 beers and the food was taken, it took them about 30 mins to prepare and deliver to us the wrong order on the table where we got a Paneer tikka (Gravy) instead of the dry starter and the waitress (I guess she is the owner as well) forced us to eat the gravy instead of giving us what we ordered. However, despite of us accepting what was served, we asked for an extra garlic naan for the gravy, but again came back with the wrong order where we were served butter naan. And then they immediately took back the butter naan inside the kitchen and gave us a garlic naan within 10 seconds with just applying garlic paste on top. And on top the naan was undercooked on only one side which was also slightly burnt while the other side was still raw dough. And when asked the waitress about it while paying the bill, she refused to accept the complaint claiming that this is how naan is baked in a tandoor as if we ate naan for the 1st time. And then finally when asking her to give a discount since there so many blunders done with wrong orders taken and the food not even being cooked well, she refused that as well claiming that she already generated a bill and she couldn’t give us a discount since we were paying by card instead of cash. Delicious Chhole Bhature! The flavorful and perfectly spiced chickpea curry paired wonderfully with the light and fluffy bhature. A satisfying and authentic North Indian treat right here in Hamburg. Highly recommended!

I wish I could give a review but every single time and order is placed for delivery from this place, the order gets cancelled after nearly an hour. I do get it, busy hours maybe, but then why are you advertising as "open for deliveries"? Extremely disappointed and will not be coming back to this. There are quite a bit of Indian places, farther away to boot, who at least aren't this arrogant

The food is ok. But the prices are clearly excessive considering the mediocre quality. - What's bad, however, is the cleanliness (toilets dirty, trash cans overflowing, salt shakers sticky, carpet in the entrance in disrepair) - why no effort is made to make the place a pleasant place is a complete mystery to me. The restaurant was completely empty when I was there, but the waitress didn't speak any German, never appeared at the table, I had to ask for the bill at the counter, no smile, no thank you, no "I enjoyed it", no "goodbye".. just the question if I could please pay in cash.. awesome.

we waited for an hour for the first course we ordered which was tandoori chicken tikka. the restaurant was completely empty we were the only customers. after the first course after an hour we had to wait again 20 minutes for the second course. the service was too disgusting. the battura was not edible. my daughter didn't eat at all. the naan was all burnt. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We waited an hour for the first course we ordered: Tandoori Chicken Tikka. The restaurant was completely empty, we were the only customers. After an hour we had to wait another 20 minutes for the second course. The service was just disgusting. The Battura was inedible. My daughter didn't eat anything at all. The naan was completely burnt. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend I recently visited this restaurant with a group of 10 people, and unfortunately, our experience was not positive. 1. Food Quality – Not What We Expected • We ordered Chili Chicken (hot), but it did not meet our expectations in terms of taste and quality. • The Paneer Kadhai had very few paneer pieces and mostly consisted of gravy, which we found disappointing. • In our opinion, the food lacked flavor and was not what we were hoping for. 2. Service – Very Slow • The service took longer than we expected. Even though the restaurant was not very busy, our food arrived after a long wait. • We felt that the staff was not very attentive to our table. 3. Payment Issues – Inconvenient for Customers • When it was time to pay, we were informed that their online payment system was not working due to an “internet issue” and that we could only pay in cash. • Since we did not have enough cash, we were advised to withdraw money from a nearby ATM. However, this would have cost us an extra €4 in fees, which we found inconvenient. • Additionally, we were not provided with a printed bill, which we personally found unusual. 4. Time Pressure – Unpleasant Ending to Our Visit • Since I had a train to catch in 15 minutes, I had to quickly withdraw cash and pay under time pressure, which added unnecessary stress. Overall, this was not a good experience for us, and we personally would not return. This is our honest opinion based on our visit. We hope the restaurant considers improving its service and transparency regarding payment options.

Really original Indian food. Unfortunately a bit too expensive. Ambiance leaves something to be desired. Everything was freshly prepared. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

We actually wanted to eat a nice Indian meal and were relying on the 4.5 stars from Google, unfortunately this was a mistake. Communication was difficult, unfortunately German was hardly spoken. The atmosphere seemed very old and not maintained. There was cutlery, but unfortunately there wasn't a knife on a single table. The portion was very small for the price and had 5-6 small pieces of chicken in my sauce which were also very hard. Since we eat Indian food very often, I can unfortunately say with a clear conscience that this “restaurant” clearly exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately there was no invoice when asked. Toilets very dirty.

The food isn't particularly tasty. Just a bit tasteless and watery and some dishes have a bit of a weird taste. Not spicy or anything. The restaurant doesn't look particularly attractive, which wouldn't be a problem if the food was good. The homemade soda is definitely not homemade.

It somehow totally reminds me of London inside - nothing unusual about the furniture, Indian pictures and decoration. The food was sensationally good: Chicken Saag (spinach sauce) and butter chicken. Nana bread and raita. I had the impression that it was cooked in a very family style, which is what gives it such a great taste. Service a bit overwhelmed. I will come back and try some more.

This was a truly wonderful evening. The service was well timed so we could enjoy our drinks and the food when it came was really quite delicious. Not a bad vibe in the place. 10/10 would eat there again.

Food is amazing and freshly prepared. Hospitality is so amazing it feels so good. Home away from home. Host always welcome with smile serves good with all her heart. All the staff is super good and hygienic. Loves the good and ambience. Food is customisable according to spice level like India. Just so good. Highly recommended.

There is a not any option for 0 rating that's why I have to give 1 otherwise I want to give 0 rating. Baddest food and service I ever try in my 23 years of life . We order Shahi paneer and dal tarka it was baddest test and till 1 hour I completed my whole dinner they don't gave me a single dish or bowl . Never visit here.

I have no idea how these good reviews come about. Absolutely incomprehensible Positive - the taste of the food is okay Negative - the portions are very small. Each dish is about half the size of any other Indian dish. The Batura was flat and about a third of a conventional Batura. - each dish costs 1-2€ more than any other Indian restaurant - my Coca Cola was a house brand non-carbonated cola - the staff speaks German very poorly - the store is unclean, especially the toilets

Probably the most authentic Indian restaurant in Hamburg. The vindaloo is, finally, real vindaloo and not the sweet mango-flavored sauce you are normally offered anywhere else. It automatically went to my favorites list.

Not recommended – bad experience Unfortunately, our visit to this Indian restaurant was a disappointment. At first it was incredibly cold in the restaurant, which made the stay extremely uncomfortable. The food took forever and the portions were small. The taste was acceptable, but the presentation left a lot to be desired - the food just didn't look appetizing. Overall, the atmosphere was so unpleasant that we just wanted to leave quickly. The language barriers were also problematic - there was hardly any German spoken, which should be a given in a restaurant in Germany. Not everyone speaks English and communication was difficult. Unfortunately the worst Indian food I've ever had. I definitely won't be coming back.

The toilets were very authentically Indian, so I wouldn't recommend using them here, the restaurant was in a similar condition, loveless decoration and very dirty tablecloths, the floor was also sticky and the room wasn't heated, we had to eat with jackets on. The food was ok but it took almost 40 minutes from the order to the table (for a starter), the price wasn't justified either.

There is also a lack of quality, a lot of things are not freshly prepared and, outrageously, you can hear the microwave noises all the way to the farthest corner. Good reviews are probably bought, because nothing that was here is special in any way. Just meh. eh eh

DANGER ! This is the worst Indian in Hamburg. The restaurant is beyond DIRTY. And the food was NOT particularly good: the "Mixed Vegetables" were imperial vegetables from the freezer and the rice was lukewarm and not remotely tasty as you would normally expect from Indian food. And the Indian tea is a disaster; indefinable and no idea what it was. It's unclear to me where the good recessions come from, probably bought.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The owner lied about the payment machine being broken and demanded cash instead, asking us to go back to our hotel to get it! After wasting our time and causing unnecessary hassle, they finally admitted the payment machine was working and accepted card payment. The restaurant was completely empty, yet no staff was available to assist us. We had to walk up to the reception just to request additional dishes—absolutely unacceptable for any restaurant. Avoid this place at all costs. Dishonest staff and horrible service ruined what could have been a nice meal. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere!

Never again! Worst restaurant experience ever Our visit to the Royal Punjab restaurant was an absolute disaster. As soon as we entered the restaurant we felt uncomfortable: the atmosphere was neither inviting nor clean. The table was sticky, the floor dirty, and even the menu was greasy and unpleasant to touch. We ordered main courses and even they were a complete disappointment. The food obviously came from the microwave, was completely over salted and tasted terrible. To make matters worse, we also found a piece of aluminum foil in the food - it was just disgusting and unacceptable! The Aperol Spritz was also a failure: undrinkable and not at all what it should be. The service was subpar. The waitress hardly spoke any German and seemed unprofessional and uninterested. This further added to the bad experience. An Indian prayer was playing in the background the whole time, which didn't fit the atmosphere at all and was just distracting. There were a total of two tables occupied - us and another table - which added to the already uncomfortable atmosphere in the restaurant. Conclusion: Dirty, overpriced, unfriendly, and then aluminum foil in the food! That was our first and definitely last visit. Absolutely not recommended!

Could be a much better restaurant with little improvements. The curry had few pieces of meat and the rice bowl fits really small portion of rice. One of the curry was just floating on oil. The ambience is dead with only staffs talking loud in background.

Buscamos en Google los mejores restaurantes indios en Hamburgo - este surgió inmediatamente, y estaba a la vuelta de la esquina de donde nos alojamos. A la luz de nuestra experiencia, me sorprende que tenga una calificación tan alta. Para ser claros, no puedo comentar sobre la comida ya que no me quedé allí el tiempo suficiente para probarla. Solo puedo comentar sobre el ambiente (que era inexistente) , el personal (que no se molestó por completo por nuestra queja) , y el ratón (que era el último clavo en el proverbial ataúd) . Era bastante desastroso mirar desde fuera, pero estaba dispuesto a pasar por alto esto, inicialmente. Al entrar, la decoración interior no era mejor. Peor aún, el lugar estaba completamente vacío y mortalmente silencioso. Sin música, sin ambiente de ningún tipo. De hecho pensamos que podría estar cerrado. Finalmente, un miembro del personal salió de atrás. Parecía estar allí solo y vestía un chándal. Una vez más, no es problemático en sí mismo, pero tampoco establece un gran tono. El personal era lo suficientemente amable pero muy tranquilo. Aunque nunca es grosero, el servicio al cliente probablemente no sea el trabajo para él. Yo mismo trabajo en servicio al cliente y tengo grandes expectativas de otras personas en ese rol. Creo que necesitas ser burbujeante, amable y atento si vas a ser colocado frente a la casa. Tampoco hubo disculpas ni reconocimiento real del problema. En última instancia, no pareció especialmente preocupado de ninguna manera y simplemente se encogió de hombros cuando dijimos que pasar a otra mesa no era en absoluto una solución adecuada. Ahórrate la molestia - hay otros restaurantes indios mucho mejores en Hamburgo.

This place has a mouse problem. Not a good experience. We googled best Indian restaurants in Hamburg - this one came up immediately, and was right around the corner from where we were staying. In light of our experience, I'm surprised it has such a high rating. To be clear, I cannot comment on the food as I did not stay there long enough to taste it. I can only comment on the ambience (which was non-existent), the staff (who were completely unbothered by our complaint), and the mouse (which was the final nail in the proverbial coffin). It was rather shabby looking from the outside but I was willing to overlook this, initially. Upon entering, the interior décor was no better. Worse still, the place was completely empty and deathly silent. No music, no ambience of any kind. We actually thought it might be closed. Eventually, a staff-member came out from the back. He appeared to be there alone and was dressed in a tracksuit. Again, not problematic in and of itself but not setting a great tone either. The staff member was nice enough but very quiet. Though never rude, customer service is likely not the job for him. I myself work in customer service and have high expectations of other people in that role. I believe you need to be bubbly, friendly, and attentive if you are going to be placed in front of house. The staff member we dealt with was none of these things, unfortunately. While we perused the menu, another family arrived and were seated near us. The waiter took our order and returned to the kitchen. We had not yet received drinks and cutlery when a mouse appeared from beneath the radiator beside our table. This was the final straw for us. We immediately began gathering our things and one of our party went to inform the staff member that we would be cancelling our order. The other table also noticed the mouse at this point and began to gather their things too. The staff member seemed surprised that we wanted to cancel our order over this and suggested that we move to a different table away from the mouse. There was no apology and no real recognition of the problem either. Ultimately, he did not seem particularly bothered either way and simply shrugged when we said that moving to another table was not at all an adequate solution. Save yourself the hassle - there are other, much better Indian restaurants in Hamburg.

Just left the restaurant because we saw a mouse. I had read the good reviews and was very disappointed. Very poor atmosphere in the restaurant, no music and no other person in the restaurant! Service was not good. We entered the restaurant and we didnt even know if it was still open as no one greeted us until we went fully down the back of the restaurant. Cutlery wasn't the cleanest. We had food ordered when we spotted a mouse across from our table. My group and the only other table that came in after us, left immediately. The staff member didn't seem overly concerned by this and offered to move us to a different table. Would not be going back and would not recommend.

Punjab: Land of Five Rivers. Home of Tandoori clay oven dishes. A true oasis of peace and enjoyment in the hectic surroundings of the main train station!

We wanted to have lunch here. The restaurant had opened a few minutes earlier and we were the first guests. The toilets were unhygienic and smelly, the tablecloths were stained and the cutlery was dirty and licked. We left straight away without eating here.

The place was run down, no atmostsphere, felt awkward and dirty. We sat down, ordered naan and left without ordering more food. The naan was dry and clearly not fresh. I honestly think many 5 star reviews are fake because this place was awful!

This was really not a nice place. The food was ok but not at all as good as it can be in Indian restaurants. But the place itself was awfull. Things could improve with very simple tricks. Clean tablecloths, clean floors, light in the bathroom, toilet paper in the baatroom, soap in the bath-room etc etc. The atmosphere was realy poor. I was released when leaving. Som weird things when paying with credit card. They claimed the machine was not working as it ran out of paper. A friend was about to get new paper. I could wait 10-15 minutes. When I said (correctly) that I do not have cash (I never carry cash) suddenly the had a full box of new paper rolls for the credit card machine....
