Very tasty food, served on stylish Indian dishes. The service is friendly and quick. There are vegan dishes. The only negative points would be that it is a bit gloomy, the complicated opening times and that it looks quite dingy from the outside - but inside it is clean and tidy.

The dishes are okay, I would have liked a generally stronger seasoning. Presenting the naan in loaf tins may be practical due to the fat glaze, but visually it appears more functional. There are certainly more attractive solutions here. The restaurant itself is tubular and has rather narrow tables and seating. The first table at the entrance didn't seem inviting at all. The guest sitting there has the entrance scarf almost on his lap and in his food. The toilets were clean when we visited.

Food: If you are familiar with Indian cuisine, you will notice that the food is average. The chicken curry was good, the basmati rice and the Birjana were rather dry. I've eaten the naan with garlic much better elsewhere; here it was rubbery and not crispy. Whether the bread was longer and just warmed up 🤷‍♀️. Service: the service at the table was nice and friendly. When we got there, we were immediately told we had 1 hour to vacate the table. Even our neighbors were told to pay and leave after dinner. So eat quickly and clear the table for the next ones. But actually you go out to eat to have a nice, entertaining evening and not to fill up quickly. For that reason alone I will no longer visit the restaurant. You can also cook and eat at home 🤷‍♀️ Ambiance: loud, crowded, narrow

Food and ambience was great! Service was a bit strenuous, all the guests around us (including us) were served the "cauliflower popcorn" - because it's supposed to be so good. I found it rather unspectacular and find it somehow absurd to talk this appetizer into everyone's mouth. I also think it's a shame that the available levels of spiciness for the curries are not stated on the menu. Had the butter chicken in spicy - for me it was the perfect spiciness for the restaurant, with butter naan which was also great. As a drink we had "Homemade iced tea" which tasted anything but "homemade" (very syrupy) and was anything but icy, but rather warm - that definitely needs to be improved, especially for the price. All in all, we will definitely come back again!

Great experience. A resturant which clones Indian cuisine in Hamburg for real. It's Indian spicy and tangy. Kudos to the team managing it.

All thumbs up for this amazing place! Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in the town. Staff is really good and everything we had was simply delicious including the dessert. Most impressive part was, you can see the attention and care in the design of the menu. Will definitely come back, especially for the indian breakfast on sundays.

Ate brunch with couple of our friends here for the first time and really loved the chole batoorey. We also ordered salted lassi, sweet lassi, dahi kachori, sabudana vada, masala dosa , kulfi and masala chai! Friendly staff and quick service. Visiting again soon ❤️

Ich war leider mit meinem Besuch im Authentikka gestern nicht zufrieden. Mein Essen war viel zu scharf, und obwohl ich darauf hingewiesen habe, dass ich nicht scharf essen kann wurde es nicht ernst genommen. Ich erwarte von einem Restaurant, dass es auf die Wünsche seiner Gäste eingeht, und in diesem Fall war das nicht der Fall. Zusätzlich wurden die Gerichte meiner Freunde vertauscht, das Personal schien mit der Situation überfordert zu sein. Es war enttäuschend, dass ich für das Gericht sogar bezahlen musste, das ich nicht mal gegessen hatte. Für besondere Anlässe (Geburtstag) kann ich dieses Restaurant definitiv nicht empfehlen!

One of the best Indians I know only suffers in Hamburg. The entire menu is recommended, with upbeat dishes. The only downside was that the crème brûlée wasn't crispy on top.

The food is high quality and delicious. Especially Tikka masala and cauliflower puffs. The environment is nice but not suitable for long sitting. Reservations are required for the weekend.

Authentic Indian food at fair prices. My highlight, besides the mixed pickles, was that the waiter caught a glass bottle that fell from the table. The applause afterwards was more than deserved!

We went to Authentikka for brunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The rooms are modern and the toilets were also clean. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Questions were answered in detail. The food itself was really delicious. All ingredients are fresh, even the "Pavs" are homemade. The spiciness was adjusted and we tried three different brunch dishes. These tasted really authentic and very tasty. We will definitely come back. The price-performance ratio is also right.

Delicious food, but few vegan dishes.

Sehr schickes Hipster-Ambiente, aber die Küche war kein Aha-Erlebnis. Wir hatten als Gruppe eine große Auswahl an Speisen, wahrscheinlich einmal quer durch die Karte, aber nichts davon war „umwerfend“. Zudem war es auf der oberen Etage sehr laut, es war schwer sich zu unterhalten.

To start, I just had Pappadum and th Trio Pickles, as I would anywhere By far, the best Mango pickle I have had ANYWHERE in the world. The chef came out, as he was very flattered - rightly - a simple thing like a pickle !! Linked to some VERY upmarket hotels in London, so now I understand. Properly WOW Of course, the mains were of the same standard When it starts well, you know it’s good 😉

I've been eating at AuthenTikka for some time now. The staff on site is very friendly! The food tastes very good, the meat comes from sustainable livestock farming! The ButterChicken and Tikka Chicken are personal favorites. Unfortunately, the restaurant changed the dishes and recipes a few months ago, which is not a bad thing in itself. In this case, however, the "zing" is sometimes missing or certain ingredients are saved, e.g. in the salads or the paneer. That's a real shame, so it definitely loses a star.

We were there at the request of our Indian customers and I was thrilled by the variety and taste. The service was nice and quick despite a busy store. The dishes are also offered in different levels of spiciness, so you can find something even if you can't tolerate Indian spicy.

Excellent, really authentic Indian food

Quick in, quick out. The food is really tasty, but everything happens in quick succession; you almost feel stressed by the fast service. 1 minute after ordering, the starter was on our table and shortly afterwards the main course. Unfortunately my food wasn't warm enough either. Everything gives the impression that as much as possible is being fobbed off in a short period of time. We liked the restaurant in Winterhude much better.

Poor service: you order nonvegetarian tiffin (lamb) for take-out, and they give you the lentils/vegetarian option. You discover the swap at home. This is now the third time it happened. Not happy.

We went to Authentikka Schanze to try the lunch menu based on the positive reviews. The food was good, the price was reasonable. However, the service could only be described as sufficient with a lot of goodwill. The waiter seemed like he had absolutely no professional experience and only understood what you ordered after several repetitions. Due to his lack of knowledge of German, he seemed very insecure and hurried to leave the table as quickly as possible, even though we were the only guests in the large restaurant along with two other individuals. The restaurant manager was much friendlier, but we found the payment process at the counter a bit "strange" because he told us the amount was €3 too high and only corrected it when we asked. We didn't receive a bill, a rogue who thinks evil of it.

I recently visited the Indian restaurant AuthenTikka and loved it. The food was authentic and reminded me of a trip to India. The butter chicken and biryani were particularly outstanding. The service was excellent, with a friendly and attentive team entirely from India, adding to the authentic atmosphere. Overall, I felt like I was on vacation and would recommend AuthenTikka to anyone who wants to enjoy real Indian cuisine.

The Indian food here is really fantastic. We can especially recommend the two chicken dishes and the dosa after our visit. It should be reserved in advance. The ambience outside is a bit cramped as the tables are close together and there is a lot of traffic. Otherwise I can highly recommend it!

Ein indisches Restaurant neuen Typus'. Es gibt keine ethnischen Elemente, serviert wird moderne indische Küche, die abwechslungsreich und schmackhaft ist. So gibt es auch ungewohnte Geschmackserlebnisse, die unsereins nicht der indischen Küche zuschreiben würde. Mich hat es überzeugt!

tatsächlich kann man/frau hier einen schönen Abend verbringen, der Service ist super nett, die Speisen lecker, Preis für Essen passabel, für Getränke der übliche Standart: alles etwas überteuert. Warum dann nur "befriedigend"? Bei der Abrechnung habe ich mich überfahren gefühlt: bei Zahlung mit Karte kannst du auswählen "Kein Service", "10%","15%" oder "20%". Damit es nicht geizig wirkt, tippe ich auf "15%". Erst später denke ich: der Service ist doch im Preis bereits inbegriffen? (ich bin gewohnt den Endbetrag großzügig aufzurunden, das sind dann so zwischen 5% und 10%). Aber durch diese neue Art der zusätzlichen Trinkgeldzahlung, die ich in dieser Art als Forderung und nicht als freiwillig empfinde, finde ich mich unangenehm berührt. keine gute Erinnerung an den Abend. Und: natürlich kein weiterer Besuch in diesem Lokal. Hamburg hat gute Alternativen.

I'm not usually one for writing reviews, but after visiting Authentikka 4 times and having a fantastic, warm, and pleasurable experience each and every time, I think a positive review is warranted. Not only am I myself 'begeistert' by the food and service of the place, but it is also much appreciated by my out of town, well traveled visitors who are also taken aback by the place and the people who work there. The welcoming service and the delicious authentic food are more than enough for memorable evening in Hamburg schanze/Eimsbüttel. You don't get that level of friendliness and attentiveness in many restaurants in Germany. Authentikka is an absolute jem in my book!!

One of those restaurants in Hamburg where you can find good desi (local) taste. We had ordered chicken tikka with curry, garlic naan, mango lassi, and chicken tandoori. Although we ordered chicken tandoori because they said these are the kababs, but those were actually 3 chicken tandoori pieces but good in taste. Mango lassi was too good and the overall experience and the atmosphere was good. The prices were bit expensive though as compared to other restaurants. One side dish which is a solid recommendation (thank me later) was couliflower popcorn (was also recommended by a friend). Those couliflower popcorn were superb! Bhala papdi was also good.

Delicious and authentic Indian food. Good and quick service, they modified our dishes for people who did not eat spicy food without a problem, the naan was delicious, the homemade sodas were very delicious. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed with dim lighting and photos on the walls

I had the lunch special here for lunch, fish curry. Super tasty and easy to digest. The mango lassi was also excellent. Everything was very clean, service was courteous & friendly. I'll be back. We sat outside in summer temperatures.

We were really looking forward to the evening. The entire ambience is really nice and very pleasant, especially because of the somewhat simpler furnishings. The service was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the food didn't pick us up and not everything was perfect. Cauliflower popcorn and samosas were delicious though.

We always go here and love the food. I’ve probably tried everything on the menu.. Dalk makhani is by far my favourite and samosa chat too. Their pav bhaji is also quite delicious!! Had their brunch experience also, as a South Indian, I expected more authenticity on the dosa but it’s definitely worth trying!!! Their cocktails have an Indian twist. Overall one of my favourite places to go!!!

My friends and I were there for brunch. We had different dishes that we shared. It was all delicious! The Samosa Chaat seriously gave a friend goosebumps because it appealed to all taste buds and left us speechless (sounds exaggerated, but it's not) 😂 The service and atmosphere were also great. We'll be back :)

Undoubtedly the best Indian Restaurant in Hamburg.

Very tasty food, unfortunately a bit inflexible in terms of spiciness. Because the restaurant is stretched out for a long time, every conversation is amplified and from 6:30 p.m. it was really loud. The service is incredibly fast and attentive. We were a little worried about the “only” two hours per reservation, but thanks to the very fast service we had no problem during the meal and were able to enjoy every dish. The restaurant itself is very modern and simple. Here too, decoration may have helped with the sound, but it is visually very appealing as it is.

I was in Hamburg for two days and here twice. Incredibly delicious and surprising notes. Will come back and try the rest. Tip for the first visit: Cauliflower from the small plates.

Fantastic service and very tasty food. It's very busy, so it's worth making a reservation in good time. However, the tables are rather smaller and closely spaced, so the background noise is very loud.

I’ve been visiting the restaurant for over four times already. We were always greeted with a warm, big smile directly into the beautiful warm and pleasant design of the place. The food is brilliant. Very authentic very fresh and you can definitely tell that the kitchen staff knows what they’re doing.. the use of spices techniques and presentation is absolutely astonishing. The service is very light, easy, friendly and professional. So happy to find a good place to go out and eat in Hamburg!

wow, finally real authentic Indian cuisine in Hamburg! The chefs put so much love into the dishes. The spices taste as if they were freshly imported directly to Germany. Something new for me. New, because when it comes to Indian food and my chili spiciness “problem,” I often don’t know exactly what to order. Ordering: When ordering, the waiter asks what level of spiciness you want. “Medium hot” seems to be the norm. I said that I would like to try something as least spicy as possible. He suggested “Makhni”, which I ordered. Later, normal naan bread was added. A mojito too. Taste: I found it spicy and it was my own personal limit of what was possible. But: Even though my mouth was burning, I could taste the food. So it went pretty well. Especially when I reordered the naan (it came fresh from the oven and was still warm). For me, the curry even had a very slight citrus note, the paneer was soft and pleasant in the mouth. The Staff: Definitely nice, helpful and accommodating. The food also came quickly, but the drinks were a little slower overall. But we also ordered a lot of mixed things that were freshly made. Be careful: Not everyone speaks German, some can only speak English (they still understood some things in German). Location: Easy to reach by public transport, extremely loud inside, larger groups should make reservations from 7.30 p.m. otherwise you may only have a small time window. In general, reservations are always recommended. Price-performance: A touch on the expensive side in my opinion. But the food was very tasty and I can't compare it to other Indian restaurants. My conclusion: Gladly again. Then I'll try my way through the starters.

We went out to eat spontaneously with 4 people and a dog. Everything was made possible and we felt very welcome. The cuisine and service are excellent and totally authentic. Simply uncomplicated.

Extremely rude service, specially for the people who work there. I saw how these people treat their employees. Another thing to highlight is, we were made to sit outside in the cold, wherelese, other germans were sitting inside. Have always noticed how these people discriminate with indians despite being indians. SHAME!!!! Food is okay but after seeing the food hygiene measures, I am not sure what to even say.

One of the Best Indian place I've ever visited in Germany. Proper Indian feel as soon as you step in. The name of the restaurant stands on the taste of the food. Literally authentic Indian food, delicious and touched my heart. Comforting atmosphere, soft classical indian music playing in background, friendly staff. Of course they speak Hindi, English and German. Although I would strongly recommend to reserve a table as the place is always full. We had Veggie Biryani, Paneer Tikka, Vada Pav(best), mango lassi, Punjabi Pakoda Kadhi. Everything is served with either rice or naan, whatever you choose. Friendly staff
